ugh i'm trying not to be a dick to my mom, who suffers enough. but i cannot believe she's decided to go in on "desecrating flags is a bad look for anyone" re: the student protests like a) that's obviously not the principle you're actually using to decide who and what to criticize here b) it's not desecrating a flag to take it down and replace it with another flag c) every time my parents say shit like this it makes me feel like maybe i alone retain memories of my family's beliefs and experiences during the bush administration, which is bad because i was like six at the time

on Sunday I went for a walk and it was really sunny. I ended up taking my keffiyeh instead of my big flowered scarf to drape over myself. Woman I recognized from shul failed to recognize me + gave me a look as we passed each other. Starting to think I will not manage to form an anti-Zionist working group in the congregation. blegh. This is a nothing post about my little problems but it remains disheartening.

maybe this is toxic but i would genuinely rather be unwell forever and spend the rest of my life relying on antidepressants than be the kind of person who thinks every single person should be in therapy

#im not anti therapy i am therapy critical. at the end of the day 1. being able to attend therapy is a privilege (do they take your health #insurance is there a therapist where you live can you afford the copays) but also. are you the RIGHT kind of sick that therapists want to #help. do you know how many therapists straight up will not engage with or are not trained to properly deal with like. cluster b disorders ?#like. im glad therapy helped you with your mild anxiety but wvery time ive spoken to a counselor or therapist who was clearly not #prepared to deal with me it makes me feel about 100x more suicide and more hopeless #and basically saying. oh theyre not in therapy thats a red flag is an incrwdibly privileged and grating thing to say. that was the point of #this post sorry i got depressing there for a minute
