my stepson has gotten into watching youtube videos of people doing video reviews of fake tv shows. like a guy talking about a fully fake season of a fully fake show. it's a metafiction of the already very 21st century reaction video trend, it's really quite odd to me but I sort of get it, but it's also this additional mediation of the already excessively mediated experience of fiction now, except it's a fiction itself? they're reinventing the epistolary novel on youtube. literally this guy said, in his video "I did stream this of course but I thought I talked too much during the stream so I am not posting it, but I will add in some clips of my intense reactions from the stream" there was no stream of course because this is not a real show that airs. But he would cut in "audio" from the "show" and such.

am I crazy or do most US children do a folktale unit in school and at least get exposed to a Coyote story?? I have encountered many people lately who are beta reading a story of mine and they are unaware of the idea of capital-C Coyote as a folklore character and don't seem to be aware of any Coyote myths.
