I’ve noticed that in the MHA fandom a lot of the people that have an overreaction to straight ships and get defensive over their gay ships always respond with “all these homophobic dudebros just want their straight ships,” or something cringey like that.

P.P.S To settle the long-standing debate whether Fuegoleon and Nozel are related, the simple answer is no.

(1) They share a common ancestor in Lumiere Silvamillion Clover, but he lived over 500 years ago and their bloodlines diverged, deriving the Silva and Vermillion royal houses.

(2) Yes, they both share Mimosa and Kirsch Vermillion as cousins; but, just because you share a cousin does NOT make you cousins. Fuegoleon and Nozel 👏 are 👏 not 👏 cousins 👏. They are EXTREMELY distant relatives and nowhere close to the inbreeding the House of Habsburg partook in from the 15th to 18th centuries. Look up "Habsburg Jaw" and you will see what I am talking about.

(3) I have been a member of this fandom since three years after its conception i.e. I have been a fan since 2018, which will be seven years in June of this year. I am intricately familiar with the lore from the Magic Knights Entrance Arc to halfway through the Spade Kingdom Raid Arc, and can confidently confirm Fuegoleon and Nozel 👏 are 👏 not 👏 cousins 👏. I am not here for shipping wars and I will not participate in shipping wars. Everyone is entitled to enjoy and partake in their own ships — platonic, romantic, bouyant🎣. The point is, don't poo-poo on other fandom members' Black Clover ships (whether they are canon or fanon). But absolutely no incest or pedophilia ships 😤 ... those are just 🤢🤮

Please describe to me what interactions between two characters who are not related signal to you that to you that they "act like siblings" and explain how those interactions differ from interactions that could be and are otherwise read as romantic in fandom ships.

of course the show that is fundamentally centered around two sisters and their tragedies becomes centered around men and said sisters are sidelined and their arcs are pushed to the sidelines and all the phenomenal care that went into their characters went down the drain. ​one’s arc is literally “the traumatized / mentally unwell character’s happy ending is committing suicide because they are simply too broken to heal and be happy” trope, and her mental instability is forgotten. the other is reduced to a mere plot device, has no agency of her own, and her trauma and anger is treated like a complete and utter joke for the sake of a shitty ship, and because the writers literally, point blank, were bored with her. it’s so sad because the tragedy of these sisters is so utterly devastating, so encompassing and so intricately woven into the narrative. but make it about two men i suppose?

A cop character genuinely wanting to help and protect people, being deliberately and explicitly prevented from doing so by the police force, and leaving the force because they realize it's beyond fixing and they'll never be able to actually do any good as a cop.

Characters existing that have pro-cop opinions with no indications that you're meant to agree with them one way or another.

In RPGs, the player character having dialogue options that can include pro-cop opinions but also include differing opinions.

Basically, a piece of media having a population with varying opinions on cops, almost like not every person has good or agreeable opinions, imagine that.
