where do you call home?: without the right to roam, in a planet with boards and states and nationalities, this is kind of a faulty concept, people ask this sort of thing to judge your worth, sometimes i poke fun at people for like what state or city they live in but know its kind of in a post-ironic or whatever sort of way, i live online! but i suppose the geographical answer is the usa equating that with home feels gross, home feels personal and all encompassing, doesnt it?

favorite animal: im like, rabbit themed, so there's that of course i love so many animals i feel like i have a fave per genre of animals, im really into jellyfish , my fave owl is great horned, i also love flamingos and giraffes and bats and cockatoos

cereal of choice: i only eat cereal as intended like two months out of the entire year max, i like applejacks (with banana slices) and cocoa bunnies from the annie's brand (with strawberries) (cereal feels really naked without fruit on it!)

there is the math; the history and the culture and the arts and how much it like is apart of human history like that's real and inseparable from understanding the world around us you cant be like well thats astronomy because its also people folk lore and mythology of their cultures and belief systems and that kind of math was not separate from each other, it was used and is used as aid to make complicated numbers more digestible, as a way to memorize and to pass along oral traditions, its also a form of a people's wealth, so thats real yes

then there's social/economics/psychology of it like time periods coincide with ups and downs of wealth in a place like historically and its also like how the seasons impact people, what food is available, what sicknesses are more easily transmittable during certain seasons, which impacts somewhat the way we interact with the world as early age roles are set in by family, society, so on, thats real

GOD yes!!! finally i see people talking about these things that have also bothered me!! I was gonna go off on wade's voice bu then i realized the addition to the post would be too long so i decided to make my own post on that specifically

Hard agree on the point about the humor! I really didnt find it funny when he says those swearwords that sound like theyre from 2013 (''holy fucking shitballs'' etc), he doesnt even swear that often in the comics?? Ryan fought tooth and nail for that R-rating which he should have but it seems they didnt know what else to do with it except gore, so they just chucked in random swearwords for characters so say (getting Colossus to say fuck in the 2nd movie; also Cable calling wade a cunt??? really? Cable wouldnt talk like that)

@spider-mand hit the nail on the head with the declawed comment! The movies have definitely washed him out a bit, took away some of his edges - he's less mean, less conflict-seeking, less impulsive, more mellow? He's also more established and normal when in the comics he's anything but - his life is a mess and all of his personal relationships are messy. In the movies, despite everything, his life is relatively okay while he has Vanessa.

Im guessing all of this was done to make him more likable to the general public but i dont think he should be so easy to root for. In the comics you ofc root for him as well, but you also see him do some very stupid and bad things - you disapprove but what makes you like him is that once he becomes aware of his issues - he makes an effort to do something about it. he's not an arrogant character in the sense that he believes everything he does is right - he points out so many times that he's done bad things during his life he's not proud of, his self-hate is clear, he's aware he acts like a douchebag and sabotages his own life because of his faults. I think more people should be more scared of him - Weasel, Al, other mercenaries in Sister Margaret's, the x-men hello??? In the comics almost all characters interact with him with caution - as if hes a loose canon, which they have every right to do, based on his reputation? Hes a crazy capable but also unpredictable and extremely violent which makes him a scary guy!

Also another issue i have with the movies is that they are too optimistic, yeah tragic things happened ofc, but the overall tone is optimistic. The genre is undoubtedly a comedy, and i think it should have been a dark comedy instead, or a gritty tragic movie with comedic elements.

Like for example, the first movie ended with the romantic ending about true love and whatnot. Why? Wade and Vanessa's relationship in the comics is nothing but messy, i honestly think they should have just left it at the fact that he abandonded her and that was it. The ending would have felt more real, raw and not so happy bc i think a big part of Wade's character and the comics is the weird balance between humor and tragedy. Sometimes life just goes to shit, this is who he is now and his life isnt great, its never been. Then they continue this dynamic in the second movie, w and v live together and even plan to have a child?? this is SO out of character for me, why would wade ever voluntarily become a parent when we know he would never think he is capable of this?? even before ellie's existence, this should be obvious, and when he meets her he can barely bring himself to say the word 'father'

not to end on a negative note - i agree that the movie did a lot of this right and ryans performance was good. they showed how vulnerable he is, that he has morals indeed and is gentle towards kids

The more Deadpool comics i read, the less i feel like Ryan Reynolds fits him and that makes me feel....odd, like kinda left out from all the love this casting is getting. He was really good as Wade Wilson in X-men Origins, his Weapon 11 is terrible and an insult to the character of Deadpool tho.

But when he got his own movie he was just Ryan Reynolds, and i know, i know "ofc he is, he's played by Ryan" sure but....that just feels off for me, and i wanted to know why, and i think i got it.

Firstly it's the way he talks, Ryan has this tone of voice that doesn't fit the way Wade usualy talks in the comics, his kinda high smooth sarcastic tone feels off to me. Partly because Wade doesn't sound like that at all, Wade has a very rough voice, sounding like Demi Moore, his voice sounds like wet gravel, according to Cable and Blind Al. Ellie, his daughter, said his voice sounds weird, whitch Wade said it's because of the scar tissue.

Also the way he talks, his jokes and the tone of his voice doesn't fit the DP energy. Fabian Nicieza, Deadpools co-creator and writer of most of his 90s appereances before Kelly wrote the first run, said he imaged Wade to sound like Denis Leary, whitch for the ones not aware, is a very unhinged and agressive sounding man, and it fits perfectly the way he talks.

Also Fox!Wade's humor isn't really the same as comics!Wade, movie Wade uses references, complicated swears and names with alot of sarcasm. Comics Wade meanwhile?

Not so much, he also doesn't even break the 4th wall as often usualy, some of those aren't even too obvious 4th wall breaks.

One thing i feel like the movies got right is Wades softness, he's a very emotional man, especialy when it comes to relationships and other people.

One thing the moves didn't quite get right is Wade and his violence problems, in his first comics he was fighting with his violence, his past, he was trying to be better after years of being a villian, and that change is often brought by his nee crush or love interest or idol, because he wants to be better for them, even if he usualy doesn't feel worthy of their love, yet he tries and tries.

There was a deleted scene in one of the movies where he and Vanessa were in Mexico and Wade lost it and killed the scamming doctor and it perfectly showed Wades issues.

His relationships were also all made simpler, Weasel is his fuctional friend, Ness is his girlfriend, Al is his funny roommate and friend. Back then Wade and his relationships weren't simple, he was like Moon Knight, he experimented, he wasn't very known, he was allowed to be odd and weird and out there. And i blame the game tbh, because now the movie was heavily influenced by what the internet thinks Deadpool is and the character is suffering for it now. Maybe i am just a jaded edgy 18yo but that's how i feel.

Now you're propably thinking what would my solution be, well i got a solution in mind, but you most likely won't wanna hear it...but i will still tell you in the next post.

hi!! wow thank you, that's so kind of you to say, and it's sort of funny for me to come across like that because i haven't finished a book in ages. one that's not too heavy and could get you out of that reading rut is andre aciman's alibis which i'm loving but have abandoned even though i'm almost done w it! haha. another one i liked and read quickly (so, not too dense a read, although in terms of topics it might be) is john steiner's errata. he does go into specifics with some topics and that might be a bit boring but generally i found it entertaining and flew through it, and absolutely loved it. hmm what else! i wish i had more recs to give. some of my favs are the book of disquiet, ari and dante + call me by your name (actually good ya/contemporary; easy reads!), notes from underground, el arpa y la sombra by carpentier, anything by borges (idk what the translations are like though), and maybe you could read the ask polly book! (another light read) again, didn't finish it hahaha, but i think it's more for like skimming through the chapters and reading what you like! hope this was somewhat useful haha xx

Part I.

Cries of the innocent are heard all throughout the halls of the Zapolyarny Palace

They were stripped to their very toes, the chilling bite of the cold and the humiliation of looking like this in front of the all powerful Creator amplifying their sobs

“Mercy!” They shout. “Please have mercy!”

It is all too noisy for Albedo

The ‘traitors’ are brought on their knees in front of their God. They were accused of stealing possessions from the Divine, as well as spreading false rumors about their God

Albedo isn’t stupid. He knows they’ve done no such thing. There was no evidence, and it was all mouth service from the Tianquan. Moreover, there is more proof that shows their extreme loyalty to their God. It is illogical. However, she clearly did this for a reason

His eyes trail over to those of the former Geo archon’s

And he has to be part of it

“Tell me,” The Tsaritsa’s voice echoes loud in the main hall of the cold palace. “Why should their excellency forgive you for doing such a foul sin?”

“We’ve done no such thing!” One particular brave soul retorted

Albedo quickly looked away as the sound of crushing ice reverberated in the hall. He spotted his fellow acolytes next to and across from him, sitting on some sort of makeshift bleachers

Yes, every single acolyte is in here. For their excellency

Albedo has never called them that before, nor does he plan to

But it is strange, he wonders, eyes going back to their God sitting on an icy throne in front of the traitors. Their God is different from before. No ordinary person would be able to tell immediately, but this indifference is not from the usual ingenuity or boredom, it is more from being lost

Their God’s full attention and mind is not on the scene going on in front of them, but rather it seems to be on something they are thinking about. But what could it be? What could the all powerful, all knowing Creator have to ponder about to make them so lost?

“They’re not paying attention.”

A voice whispered next to him, Albedo’s eyes turn back to the naked traitors, ignoring the blue snake that found its way next to him

“Come now, Albedo, you noticed it too, did you not?” Kaeya leans back, arms crossing across his chest as he lets out a light chuckle. “Why else would you be staring when you’ve never expressed interest before?”

“I’m just curious.” Albedo’s short reply came. He would be lying if he said Kaeya was wrong, but Albedo doesn’t care enough to think about it any further

“Your indifference to their excellency is gonna be your downfall one day. You know how hardcore their acolytes can be. Should they know that you don’t worship them the way you should be doing..”

“They did not create me.”

Kaeya is left to ponder about those words alone, as Albedo rises from his seat and exits the biting chill of the Zapolyarny Palace

He feels Lisa tap his shoulders from behind him. “Why did he leave? Their excellency is just about to determine the traitors’ punishment.” Kaeya shrugs off her hand, settling further down in his seat

“He had to do something back at his lab. Something dangerous, apparently.” The lie effortlessly rolled off Kaeya’s tongue, and luckily it was enough to get Lisa off Albedo’s back for a while

Really, the blond should thank him

“Your sentence,” Their God’s words shut everyone in the room up. The cries were sniffled, some were silently praying to the being in front of them. They were praying for mercy from the merciless Creator. “Shall be to never set foot inside my temple again.”

Kaeya’s eyes widened a fraction. The palace felt colder than usual. The time ticks, one or two more, as complete silence swallows the crowd

Then came the thankful cries of the traitors, the displeased sighs of the archons, and a particularly smug chuckle coming from the Tianquan a few seats away from him

What a light sentence, everyone is thinking. The traitors are escorted to the dungeon where they shall redress before heading back to their homes. They would not be able to get any more jobs, but at least they’re alive. Some of the more indifferent acolytes leave early. A few noteworthy ones being Keqing, Eula and Diluc. However those who are closest and most devoted to their God are visibly panicking

What happened to their excellency?

Kaeya watches as Zhongli and Venti escort their God to a room in the palace, with the Tsaritsa leading the way. Their God, in all their glory, remains with a cold poker face, and a very different aura all around

How amusing, Kaeya thinks. How will the story unfold now?

Footsteps startle them, a hand comes to their wound immediately and their legs are already up and ready to run

The familiar voice eases their panic a little bit, but they do not let their guard down. It irritates them how much this cocky smile calms their beating heart

“Dearest imposter,” Kaeya greets. He throws them a sunsettia, the ‘imposter’ fighting the urge to scramble to it like a helpless animal. They would not entertain someone as filthy as Kaeya. “Why such a harsh look? I gave you food.”

“Thanks, Mr. Bare Minimum,” They mutter. They glare at the sunsettia a little longer before hunger prevails, and they pick it up with fervour

Kaeya lightly smiles. “I noticed something interesting today.”

“Spare me the small talk,” They take a bite out of the sunsettia, sitting back down on the floor. Kaeya walks closer and sits next to them, leaning their head against the crate behind them

“It’s not small at all, it’s about their excellency,” The scoff coming from the ‘imposter’ doesn’t deter Kaeya from his story. “They’re quite different from before.”

“Let’s hope they aren’t more immature than they were before. Who the fuck sends a bunch of obsessed cult followers after someone’s ass just because they share the same face? God,” Again, with their weird speech, Kaeya notes. What other god are they talking about if not their excellency? “I don’t want to hear about them.”

“I don’t care, I’ll talk about it either way,” Kaeya banters back. “They changed, they’re less strict, less mean, less.. Them, should I say.”

“They grew as a person? Wow, I didn’t expect that.”

The slander should have offended him as someone who grew up worshipping their God’s name, but all it does is make him laugh. “They have a secret they’re hiding, and I want to find it out.”

A few seconds pass before they speak up again, wiping the sunsettia residue on their torn up clothes. “How will you do that?”

Kaeya’s smile turns borderline sadistic, a gleam in his eye that screams at the ‘imposter’ to run

But they stay, and they’ve fallen into his trap

“I need your help.”

ilisten i have 0 stakes at all in the mario movie but i feel like the “ugh not another isekai” sentiment is getting passed around for no real reason. “isekai” is not a bad thing? it just refers to the trope of someone from the normal world getting sent to somekind of fantasy world (sometimes in reverse too)- here we call those “portal fantasies” and its not a singular genre.

anime fans who are disgruntled by the overinflation of shitty and cheaply written isekai being produced often complain about it but... i feel like people online have seen others complain about the overinflation of lazily written isekai and, without really understanding what the complaints were, somehow got the message that portal fantasies are a Bad Trope which isnt true.

you were feeling that underappreciated feeling, that you're not loved and cared enough from people, even your closest ones.

you didn't even want to talk about this, thinking that you're gonna bother them or make them feel like you're overreacting to simple stuff, looking for attention.

and you were not like this normally, your bright persona was making you seem like you don't care about these kinda things. at all.

that was the reason you didn't want to share this with your precious boyfriend. you were scared to talk, scared to make him have wrong thoughts about you.

so you kept it all to yourself. not realizing that it'll come out hard eventually.

"jagiyahh!! i'm home!!" he called out the moment he got into the room you're in. you tried to swipe your tears and get up but no, he already saw you.

"oh my! what happened?" he sat down next to you, holding your arms and lowering his head to see your face.

you tried to hide your face and look at another direction but no. he didn't let you.

"don't, look at me jagi...sshh it's okay. look at my eyes and take deep breaths." he said holding your hands and looking directly into your eyes.

"you're doing so good, yeah...one two and breathe out." he talked while he's doing the same things he said.

you could see in the way he looks at you that he's worried. he tried his best to not show you that tho, putting you first as he always did.

when your breathing got normal he fixed your hair gently and asked. "do you want to tell me what made you cry?"

yes. here he was being the most gentle person you've ever seen again. you felt bad about not letting him now in the same moment.

he saw the way your eyes softened and head fell down with guiltiness. "if not, it's okay...i can still be there for you."

your heart felt like filling with love and you told him everything which was making you heavy.

"i can't talk for everyone but i'm willing to listen everything you tell me jagi, share with me and don't be hard on yourself please." he said before leaving small pecks to your cheeks.

you were currently on your sofa, not able to stop the tears that running down your cheeks after feeling the heaviness on your thoughts in your chest.

you didn't hear him coming in, only noticed his presence when he slowly caressed your back and spoke.

after feeling a familiar feeling of his arms wrapping your body gently you kept crying. you tried to say' i'm sorry ' for making a mess on his shoulder but you couldn't even talk because of your crying.

he stayed quiet till you stopped crying and started breathing normally. now your eyes and lips were swollen.

and you told him everything.

he came and saw you crying hard, his face suddenly changed. his worries took over him.

after he ran to you and got your face between his hands he started to ask questions fastly.

"why are you crying babe? what's wrong? did you hurt? did something bad happen? oh god please don't cry." he said lifting your chin up and giving you a reassuring look.

you took deep breaths and held your hands, never stopped giving you his reassuring gaze. kept telling you that he's here, fixed your hair and left kisses to your hands.

"please don't cry baby." he said and you could see him having teary eyes.

"okay okay i'm not crying anymore." you said holding his hands tightly.

"why did you cry babe?" he asked, tilting his head. and you told him everything, trying to hard to not cry again. but after seeing him shedding one tear, you couldn't stop yourself.

he dashed away his tears fastly. then yours.

"baby, i love you and care for you. it's okay to have breakdowns like this but don't hide your thoughts from me because you think i'm sensitive. if it's necessary we'll cry together."

he listened all your thoughts, wiped your tears anytime they fell down, looked at you like you're his everything.

The journey to the beach resort was pretty smooth

And they got there really early, not many people were on the shore nor on the pool of the hotel they were staying at

so Natsuhiko and Sakura decided to check in their room to walk around and explore

"Your room will be on 307, if the two of you have any complaints or concerns please refer to the landline inside the room, Thank you for checking in!" The receptionist handed Natsuhiko their room keycard and went to the elevator to get to their room

The elevator they boarded had glass behind them letting you see what was outside

"Their pool here is huuggee" Natsuhiko peaked over "We should eat first, we haven't eaten ever since we left" The elevator halted to a stop at their destined floor, they got off holding their bags and scouted for their room

once they've settled their things in they went back downstairs

Since it's still early in the morning, they caught up with the hotels breakfast buffet

Sakura ate a light breakfast

while Natsuhiko went HAM on the bacon and eggs

"Natsuhiko no one is gonna take the bacon and eggs from you.." She eyed him from across the table, He was eating the bacon and eggs like someone was REALLY gonna take it

"It's so good tho—" He suddenly chocked as he immediately grabbed the glass of orange beside him and drank it all

"Eat slowly, this vacation might turn into a hospital trip." She went back to reading while drinking tea as Natsuhiko scratched his head

After they finished eating they went back to their hotel room to change and walk around

Natsuhiko would flirt with Sakura from time to time using their surroundings

Afternoon rolled in, They went over to the indoor pool to swim around

"Man all that swimming around made me hungry" Natsuhiko said as he place the towel over his shoulders

Sakura got up from the pool and grab her towel "We should go eat, there's this food bazaar nearby" Sakura said as she stared off to the direction of the bazaar

"I heard they have tasty takoyaki and the line up was long"

"Well, we better get going before alot of people start lining up" Sakura started grabbing her things as Natsuhiko followed

Well the line ups were crazy

But they managed to get theirselves takoyaki and went to other food stalls to satisfy their hunger

they even tried out some bazaar games

Sakura's hands were full that day

the energetic and happy afternoon has passed and it was now evening

Natsuhiko was thinking of bringing Sakura to this fancy restaurant nearby

He could barely make a reservation earlier cause of how many people were reserving

But he manage to get them a table

Natsuhiko sat on the bed waiting for Sakura to finish up, He was anxious, He wanted to ask her THE question

the sound of the bathroom door opening made him snap out of his thoughs, he looked up and its like an angel was sent down for him

Sakura wore a cute dark green dress with an oversized white cardigan, black flats, and her hair braided into a bun.

He might've been starring at her for awhile cause she was now feeling uncomfortable with what she was wearing "Do I.. look weird?" She asked which he immediately swatted his hands anf shaking his head with a big bluch on his face

"NO, no you look.. stunning M'lady~" Natsuhiko stood up and kissed the back of her hand "Shall we?" He gestured to the door "We shall." Sakura wrapped her arm around his and off they went to the restaurant

the restaurant was fancy as HELL

Natsuhiko was a rich boy no wonder he could afford it all

They got a table on the balcony with a really great view

They ate while they talked, laughed

and most importantly for Natsuhiko flirting

The waiter poured both of them a glass of wine as they thanked him, They both picked up their glass and made cheers (is that what you call it..)

"I had alot of fun, Natsuhiko" Sakura said as she took a sip of her wine "Im glad you did, I saw how stressed you were so why not the beach ya?" he chuckled

"I also want to ask you something.." He placed his glass down and looked at Sakura in a serious manner

"What is it?" Sakura also put her glass down to give Natsuhiko her full attention

"I... I want to um.." He cleared his throat as he fidget in his seat, His mind cleared when he heard Sakura giggle and felt a hand ontop of his which made him explode "You wanted to ask me out, right?"

"Y-yeah! I've.. liked you for awhile.. well you already know that"

"Well, I accept"

He sat there utterly shocked

"W-WAIT YOU WILL?" Sakura nodded as she smiled a little "I've feelings you too Natsuhiko, and I was on telling you too when we get here" Natsuhiko smiled as he held her hand tight

"I'll take good care of you.." He kissed her hand, and enjoyed the rest of the night

We have once again come back to the school and into the broadcasting room

Tsukasa, Mitsuba, and Sakura were watching one of Natsuhiko's weird fantasies with Sakura, Again. Man they should make a whole series for him and his fantasies

"AHH NO FAIR He took you to the beach in his fantasy and we're not there!" Tsukasa pouted as he pointed at the cartoon bubble he made with his Kokujoudai.

Sakura sighed heavily as he rubbed her forehead "I'm gonna get fresh air. I don't want to watch this anymore." Sakura got up and walked out of the broadcasting room

Mitsuba sat there with a weirded out look till it turned into a terrified-disgust face

"AGGHH TURN IT OFF TURN IT OFF! I DO NOT WANT TO SEE THEM KISS THAT LOOKS SO WRONG!!" Mitsuba cover his eyes with his sweater as Tsukasa did not move and continued to watch

Part three!

Dinner last night, was, well...pretty terrible. I ended up waking up at 2 am to the brothers STILL not home. Apparently even Diavolo had taken a liking to the new exchange student.

A day goes by and finally i get to meet the new exchange student.

Whoah

Is all i can think. I walk into the living room unnoticed as everyone is talking to the new exchange student, i wouldnt blame them.

They look incredible.

I felt a hint of jealousy wash over me. Seeing Mammon, Asmo’s and Beel’s joyful laughs as they talk to them. Their voice was ever so gentle, it’s what i imagine spring to sound like.

I tried forgetting about my distasteful thoughts of jealousy and walked over to them.

“Goodmorning!”

I called out to try and grab their attention

“Oh, MC! I didnt see you there;;”

Asmo said to me as he was taking selfies with the new exchange student

“This is the new exchange student”

Beel smiled

“Hi! My name is MC”

I happily introduced myself

“My name is S/N”

They brought their hand out and i shook it in return. Their eyes were ever so sweet, i felt the sadness come over me as i wore a soft smile.

Something tells me this wont end well.

Weeks go by as i barely get to see the brothers anymore. They’re always around S/N. I find myself longing the brothers touch. The random emergency texts i get from mammon, calls from Asmo asking me if i wanted to go to a club, Belphie always dragging me to his room to take a nap, Beel’s adorable goodnight texts, Lucifer’s complaints about work, Satan’s library dates, And levi’s rants about a certain anime he just watched.. i missed it all.

I guess i missed the warmth and the constant attention i got from them. The attention thats now being directed at S/N.

The new feeling of emptiness leads me to the Purgatory hall, a place i’ve been to quite often after S/N had won over the brothers.

I enter the room praying that i dont see S/N hogging Luke, Solomon, and Simeon’s attention....

What?

Did i just think that?

Am i that jealous?

Have i gotten so used to being in the spotlight that suddenly i become like this when not in the center?

Its an unpleasant feeling and i try to snap myself out of it as i see Simeon, Luke, and Solomon all happily seated on the couch drinking tea and eating pastries Luke made.

“MC! Hey!!”

Luke happily greets me as well as Solomon and Simeon. Im pulled to the couch as im seated next to Luke. I take a bite of the pastry and embrace the comfort of the sugary sweets.

The conversation goes on for a long time as hours go by. Soon enough the entire tray of pastries and tea are long gone.

As the clock hits 8 PM i realize ive been at the Purgatory hall for too long now. Excusing myself i go back to the house of Lamentation to be once again greeted by smiling faces and S/N laying out plates filled with food for the brothers.

The brothers quarrels, Satan’s face of annoyance, Asmo’s whining... The smell of warm food on the dinner table being handed out....

As i hide from the view of the brothers and S/N i look back to when it would to be me that made everyone dinner and calmed them down.

My chair.

My chair had been occupied by S/N,

What?

Did they expect me to sit on the floor for dinner or something?

As i slowly walked to my room i heard the deep voice of Lucifer

“Oh MC,,, sorry S/N is sitting on your spot, we thought you were gonna go to the purgatory hall for dinner tonight. We do apologize”

As i feel my throat closing up i smile and say in a bubbly tone

“Oh it’s fine! I was actually gonna go out with my friends for dinner anyways! I was just getting something from my room, i’ll be out in a sec!”

Lucifer gave me a warm smile and continued conversing with S/N

As i went to my room i started to realize the situation here. I’ve been replaced. I mean who wouldn’t replace me when the actual definition of an angel was right in front of them with their welcoming arms open.

As soon as i got to my room salty tears trailed down my cheeks,

Jealousy?

Sadness?

Anger?

Whatever the emotion was i wasn’t having it. Unlocking my DDD to be greeted by the wallpaper of me and the brothers all dressed up for a ball we went to together once. i tried to hold back my few tears as i called Solomon, a dear friend of mine.

“Hey solomon!!”

“Oh, yes MC? Is there anything you need?”

“I know i just left the purgatory hall but could I possibly stay there for the night?”

“Oh, of course! I dont exactly know why but Luke’s already whining about how you stayed for too little.”

“I’ll be right over”

I hung up the phone, my tears stopping after i heard that comforting voice of his.

That night i stayed at the purgatory hall, happily sleeping next to Luke, lulling him to sleep.

The purgatory hall became my escape. Solomon always made me laugh, Simeon always made sure i felt welcome there and Luke was practically my adopted son after how long i could stay with him.

As i went about the kitchen helping Luke make a pastry i showed him from the human world a strange feeling washed over me. The feeling of something being erased from my my soul, something was fading away. That something felt like it was piercing my soul.

I look around my body to see what it is. As i look around i see it.

My pact marks are starting to fade

I panic as i excuse myself and go back to the house of lamentation.

As i silently enter the room i hear the faint sound of the brothers, they’re discussing something.

“Cmon Satan you’ve gotta be quick! What if they find out?!”

“Removing a pact isnt that easy Mammon.”

As i listen more i realize what it is.

They’re trying to break my pact with me.

And for what exactly?

Because they want one with someone else.

That someone being S/N

It hurt. Who wouldn’t be hurt? tears flowed from my eyes in record time as i tiredly walk outside.

Devildom was a place the brothers always told me to beware of, but right now i couldnt care less.

While i walked around the town with puffy eyes and the stinging feeling of my pact marks being removed, i hear a certain group of people call my name, i look back to see Luke, Solomon and Simeon’s smiles quickly turn into frowns as they see my tears

“What’s wrong MC?!”

Luke worriedly asks

Unable to hold it in i tell Them.

“The brothers are trying to break my pact with them, they want one with S/N apparently. Im afraid i’ve been replaced by that saint..”

Solomon and Simeon’s face turn into faces of empathy while Luke’s turned quite sour

As Simeon came closer to me and pulled me close into a hugged he mumbles out a comforting phrase

“Whatever happens MC, you’ll always be welcome at the purgatory hall.”

The sentence made my stomach overflow with butterflies. I happily hug back, quickly accepting the purgatory hall as my new and improved home.

I really wish we could categorise things as Gothic instead of using the blanket 'horror' term for anything remotely spooky. Mainly because 'horror' has mainly distinctive tropes that don't necessarily have to be followed but usually are for it to be classed as a horror. The same for gothic.

Also you can have both. Something can be a gothic horror. But gothic isnt necessarily horror and horror isn't necessarily gothic and I think it cheapens both of their genre meanings if we don't appreciate and call things as they are.

For example, I would say Coraline, Bly Manor and Hill House are good examples of gothic. There are death and scares and a lot of other scary elements, but the characters, for the most part, come out of the other side of these challenges. Gothic, not always mind, but a lot of the time doesn't end with the characters dead. It explores dark themes using scary elements and changes the person who its happening to.

On the other hand I would say Midnight Mass is a horror. A gothic horror. But a horror all the same. I think the death of major characters. Of pushing the human experience beyond what it should be and taking them down by the end is what makes a good horror. 30 days of Night is a horror. A horror usually leaves you feeling unnerved, that the monster is still out there. A gothic mainly feels complete.

The Corpse Bride is a gothic. Dracula and Crimson Peak are gothic. They feel complete by the end and I think cinema needs to acknowledge that we can't blanket name these kinds of films as horror because they're scary or dark. Mostly because I see a lot of critics get mad because they watched these films thinking they were a horror and were disappointed with them.

These films weren't made primarily for the jump scares. They were made to make you think. To explore the things we don't like to do in reality and for us to come out feeling safe at the end. A lot of people hated Crimson Peak because it wasn't scary enough. They wrote it off as being popular because Tom Hiddleston was in it but it wasn't a good film. They didn't understand that it wasn't made to be scary in the way a horror is. The ghosts aren't the villains here. The paranormal isn't at fault. It's the people. It's the situation our protagonist has been put in. Its watching this poor girl being slowly poisoned and us as an audience knowing something is wrong but we can't put our finger on it until it's too late. It's about the monster being vanquished and not able to claim another victim.

It's a gothic, just like all the other films and shows I've named here are, and they're great because they're gothic. You can appreciate all of them more when you look at it from a gothic perception. Coraline is scary, yes, but not because the other mother can turn into a monster. Coraline is scary because we are put into a world that is so much like our own but things are off. Little things here and there are telling our animal brain that theres danger here. That coraline is being neglected that much that shes effectively being kidnapped and we have to watch it slowly play out knowing her parents cant help her. The other mother turning into a monster is nothing really. By that point in the film we're already terrified for Coraline, the only difference is when she turns into the Beldam she's showing us who she truly is.

I'm getting away from myself. I could write a whole essay on all of these films and shows. But yeah, horror isn't always horror, and it's about time we recognise that instead of brushing something away for not killing everyone at the end.

the alien threw you against the wall, roaring loudly. it ringed through your ears, causing you to yelp. the alien grabbes clay with its other hand and raised him above its mouth.

"y/n since this is the end," clay yelled, "i want you to know that i like you! a lot!"

you looked at him shocked, you opened your mouth to say something but the creature's scream of pain cut you off. your other colleagues had come to save the both of you.

you both watched as they brought the alien back to where it came from.

"so, you like me?"

"uh, yeah. i really, really do."

he started acting strange after a few months of working with you

for example, everytime you passed him a weapon his hand would rouch yours

and he would just blush and continue what he was doing

you wouldn't really notice tho since he was subtle with it

george finally confessed after a mission

"get yourselves cleaned up at the headquarters."

"yes ma'am." you both said synchronously. once you were both back at the headquarters, george tapped your shoulder. "uh- so i really like you, can we go on a date?"

you just looked at him, not saying a word. george started to feel more nervous, thinking he did something wrong. "it's fine if you don't want to, i understa-"

"no no no no george, i wanna go on a date with you." george just smiles and grabs your hand, caressing it.

Sapnap

as soon as you became partners, you both got really close a your personalities just matched

anyways, every mission crazy and very chaotic

sapnap cracks jokes all the time

"oh my god, is this alien pussy??"

"sapnap... I THINK SO!!"

its so fun working with him

at the start of your relationship, he made flirty comments here and there

but the longer you both knew eachother, he made flirty comments all the time, like dream

"sooooooo has anyone told you how hot you were earlier?"

"i mean- no? we literally almost got eaten alive"

"well since no one's said it, you looked pretty hot earlier"

for some reason he likes saying those comments everytime your both about to die

or when the situation is just bad

"hey you look pretty attractive right now..."

"SAPNAP SHUT UP AND GIVE ME THE GUN, WE'RE GONNA DIE??!??!?!"

"WHY ARE YOU SAYING THIS NOW SAPNAP"

but when he confessed it was during a normal time

you were both talking about a mission you had to do in a few days

"okay so we have to be in paris next week. i think we should ask-"

"i like you y/n. a lot, with my whole heart" you smiled, "i like you too." sapnap smiled and and leaned in, "can i kiss you?" you just nod and bring him closer to your chest.

Karl

people called you and karl childish and immature during work

but in reality he just made lots of jokes and you both laughed easily💀💀

missions with karl are very fun

fun but at the same time serious

like he thinks very quickly

so if your ever in danger, karl will be there to help

but after you both make jokes directed at each other

"you were the one that dropped the bomb"

"you would've died if i didn't save you🙄"

but its all light hearted and you care for each other

anyways he started to act more serious and calm around you

sometimes nervous

like after every mission you hug

and everytime you both do it you could just feel karl's heart beating so fast

"karl are you alright? you're heart is beating really fast"

"oh uh- yeah. just shocked from the mission and all"

he would also ask you if you're hurt/okay way more

"oh god y/n, are you alright?"

"yeah it's just a scratch"

"okay, if you're hurt just tell me"

he confessed while you were both undercover during a mission

you both sat in the cafe, eyeing the alien that disguised itself as a human. "psst, y/n."

"what is it?" you say, not taking your eyes off the creature. "i like you." karl says quietly. as if he was a kid whispering a secret. for the first time, you take your eyes off the alien.

you look at him, mouth agape. you smirk and chuckle, "so do i." karl smiles and starts giggling, you reciprocate this. "now let's go back to- WAIT WHERE ARE THEY?"

Quackity

chaotic but at the same time quiet duo

during missions its crazy and some times gets out of hand

but at the headquarters/office, you're both very proper and organized

its just so that you both get assigned into more missions together tbh KSHSJ

all you could do was to push the buttons more aggresively, hoping to get out alive. to your surprise, the car started to float of the ground.

he would be quiet and professional

also a little intimidating

like on your first mission he did almost all the work

and in a way you were kinda his assistant

at first you thought this was how missions worked

1 leader and 1 follower/assistant

but then you talked to your colleagues about your missions with him and they told you it was meant to be 2 partners, not leader and assistant

so you confronted techno about this

which left him a little surprised

cause he was the one supposed to confront people, not the other way around

this made him intrigued about you

so techno spent more time with you to learn more about you

which caused the both of you to get closer

when people saw this, they were really confused

cause he was so soft, caring, and nice around but around them he was cold and intimidating

but then techno started to act very flustered and nervous around you

he tried to hide it, but failed

like you would just be talking to him and he would just randomly act flustered

"okay so since he's in [street name], we should turn left to catch up." you said while holding onto the steering wheel. "uh huh..." techno just looked at you, not saying a word.

he would be a combination of george and dream

Go Watch the Venture Brothers

So just heard the complete and utter Bullshit news that Adult Swim has cancelled one of (if not the best shows) they have the Venture Bros. This series is one of those shows that for WHATEVER reason never got to the level of fandom Rick and Morty has even though they’ve been at the genre parody game longer and in my opinion better. 

The series is about Rusty Venture former boy adventurer and failing super scientist who in an attempt to keep his head above water in debt goes around with his two boys Hank and Dean, and bodyguard Brock on misadventues while various legal archnemisis go after him, such as the Monarch. 

So if you never watched or never heard of this 7 season series let me give you a break down on why you should, 

1) Art Style & Animation

Venture bros is one of those rare Adult aimed animated series that that really truly tries to utilize their medium to the best of their abilities. Season 1 had like such a small budget and corners had to be cut so it can be a little hard to watch at times. 

But with each passing season they get a little better, a little more fluid, go just a little harder and it truly feels rewarding to watch. Like seeing an artist you follow online improve over the years. Like they COULD have stayed with the choppy and stiff animation from season 1 it fit right in with its fellow adult animated shows but it didn’t. They strove for quality to have something that matched the story they were telling.

2) The Writing 

Venture Bros has some of the tightest and consistently great writing of ANY serialized show I’ve seen, adult, animated or other wise. Wanna know why? Cause it’s all done by TWO people (save for like one ep each season where one other person is allowed to touch their baby). Yeah TWO people and they work their asses off every season to interject, humor, refrences, parody, plot and character development in equal measure. 

3) Character Development

Um yes in case you were wondering that’s right an adult animated show has CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT  that holds as the series goes on. Not to give spoilers but characters will go through changes in alignment, relationships will develop and change, some characters will go through negative arcs where they are straight up unbareable for a season before coming out the other side even better than they were before. There is no end of epsiode or even end of season reset. Characters, settings, and dynamics all change over the course of the show and it feels just so god damn good.

4) Story Development 

Just like the characters the story of the Venture Bros grows and changes each season. Things that are set up even as early as season one are paid off as the series goes on. Like not to be that bitch but you know how RIck and Morty teases an overarching plot ALL THE TIME but like will often just spit in the face of fans hoping for more than like one episode a season addressing it? Yeahhhhhhh that doesnt happen here, fans are consistently rewarded for putting the time in to rewatch and really think about what happened in the series. Characters that are seen in the background or are just referenced by other characters will be brought in to be recurring characters, things that start off as a small detail or gag will be given larger relevance and each time they do this you get that “OH I remember that from last season! So thats what it was!” The writers WANT you to rewatch, they WANT you to analyze and they WANT you to theorize, and they give you a show that gives back the time you put in.

5) Parody & Reference 

This series does a great thing with parody. They make real characters  who are just as enjoyable as the characters they parody, they make story lines that both poke fun at the absurdity of the media but shows the writers love for it. So often parody and references are just used to mock the thing but with Venture Bros you feel the love and care so when you know the thing being parodied you can laugh but feel good about laughing cause they are never laughing at a thing maybe you cared for in your youth but rather laughing with it.

And it’s never just one thing. When they parody a thing its often layered with other things to make it even more unique. Scooby-Doo is overlayed with famous criminals, Laura Croft is mixed Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman, GI Joe is given the look of the Village People and so on. They never go for the easy joke or reference. Hell theres an episode that starts with them reciting the lyrics to David Bowies Space Oddity for really no reason other than they could. They weave these things in naturally with their setting and characters so nothing feels out of place. Like if you dont catch a reference or parody you dont feel like “I think this isa reference to something?” like a LOT of things do not just adult animated shows. You arent taken out of the moment cause it all feels so natural. 

6) The Characters 

God damn these characters, I could go on for hours about these characters. From main to one off these are some of the most likeable characters you can find. I mean it when I say I can’t think of a single character I wish they had cut cause they are all so well created. Even the ones I hate i have fun hating cause they were made to be that way. I’ll be good though I’ll only talk about my absolute top faves.

- The Monarchs

You ever sit and wish villain couples could have functional  healthy relationships? Well look no further than Malcom Fitzcarraldo aka The Monarch and Dr. Shelia Girlfriend (yes that is her last name). The Monarch is a high strung impulsive saturday morning cartoon villain whos tendency to over react is only matched by his unspecified hatred of Dr. Venture. And Dr. G is his nonsense partner in crime who will cut a bitch if they don’t play by their admittedly weird rules. Both characters are great on their own but are better together. Though that doesnt mean they always get along. Like a real couple they have their ups and downs they fight, break up, make-up and grow stronger in their relationship with each season. 

- Shore Leave

Ok ok so I want you to imagine James Bond, mixed with GI Joe simmering in a cocktail of the most flamboyant gay men you have ever seen and you have one of my favorite gay characters/characters in general. Shore Leave is a member of OSI (the shows SHEILD/GI Joe parody organization) he’s loud, brash, flippant, sassy and highly competent at his job loving every second of getting to beat bad guys down within an inch of their life. I love seeing him play off the stoic Brock and the two have this great brotherly dynamic that’s never called into question. He also gets to have a very cute romance with Al the Alchemist (who is also great). I could talk about this man all day.

- Dr. Rusty Venture

They did such a good job with this man. He’s a self serving, sexist, perverted, whinny, self important asshole and yet you feel pity and genuine sympathy for him and want him to succeed. You can see how Dr. V was given a raw deal by his father who seemed to care more about his adventures than his sons well being and how this molded him into the bitter man he is today, but on the flip side you can see where he chose to use that as a crutch for his worst behaviors and impulses. Seeing him slowly grow and change and be an actual good father to his boys while all the while still be a giant dick is actually really great. 

- Dr. Byron Orpheus 

Ahhhhh Dr. Orpheus part Dr. Strange Parody part busybody stay at home dad, he’s just such a delight. Dr. Orpheus is a divorcee, with an unfulfilling job of maintaining order to the cosmos (which isnt as hard as one might think), and uses his magical ablities in ways most of us would (ie menial tasks and home chores). Overly dramatic and affectionate Dr. O is a delight whenever he appears, but he’s at his best around his daughter and old friends The Order of the Triad. 

Again I can go on but all these characters ranging from main to recurring are crafted with the utmost care for you to want to see them succeed or fail, to see them again even if you know it’ll never happen, and want them to cross paths with other characters. 

The Venture Bros is one of those series that I will ALWAYS recommend even to the pickiest of humor tastes. But if you don’t believe its as good as I said or don’t think the concept is to your tastes I’ll recommend a few eps that I think best show off the base idea of the series without giving much away. In terms of plot and spoilers, though somethings wont make a lot of sense. 

- S1 ep10 "Tag Sale – You're It!" - Dr. V is having a yard sale so of course all manner of costumed weirdos show up.  - S2 ep5 "Twenty Years to Midnight" - basically a fetch quest around the world to save the planet with daddy issues - S3 ep2 "The Doctor Is Sin" - Again daddy issues but with one of the best recurring characters and a great showcase of the series deeper emotional plots - S4 ep6 "Self-Medication" - Really embraces the parody as Rusty goes to a former boy adventurer support group.  Anyway the show is 7 seasons with 80 episodes, please go watch it. I will never forgive @adultswim​ for cancelling what was to be their final season. And in closing GO TEAM VENTURE!

1. denpa - genre is still alive in my heart. god will strike down kawaii future bass with his righteous thunder. i genuinely think that its kawaii future bass's fault— i know a lot of people blame it on denpa singers becoming vtubers but i dunno, the denpa singers that i know that took on those careers still do denpa stuff ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ on the other hand all the singers that have pivoted to kawaii future bass don't do denpa anymore. I HATE KAWAII FUTURE BASS AHHHHHHHH AHHH AHHHHH AHHHHH ITS SO HORRIBLE IT DOESNT EVEN SOUND GOOD STOP WITH THE FINGER SNAPPING AND POPPING NOISES AND GARAGEBAND LOOPS LITERALLY THE MOST BRAINDEAD MUSIC POSSIBLE *gets hit over the head with a mallet* anyway. sorry about that

2. shoegaze - SHOEGAZE NEEDS TO COME BACK!!! where is MIKGAZER II!!! i fucking love shoegaze. incredibly good and underrated genre i will not let people make it the butt of every "lol average nerdy white boy music" STFU!!!!!!

3. folk/fantasy/traditional/whatever the person tagging the music is calling it - are you seeing a pattern here. i just really like stuff thats kind of sequestered to doujin music, niche or kinda dead... i love both vocal songs and instrumentals of this genre. i just want to feel like im in a 16 bit console or ps2 jrpg at all times. yes specifically those descriptors. please understand

4. synthpop - i feel like this has been dead since the early 2010s but when jpop and kpop were into this sound >>>> (think lovegazer (album) btw its really fucked up how much deco seems to hate this album. ik some of the songs are on the 2008-2014 comp but not all of them... he wants to erase this and his gumi songs so bad. but to me i love this so much its such a strong album)

5. eurobeat - i know god is kind because eurobeat exists

h/m - not really a genre but, DTM music in general - i really fucking love DTM music from the early 90s to mid 00s. i fucking love amateur midi music. i think its natural bc i grew up in a time where midi music was still really common + a lot of my interests (largely subculture) have crossover into music and a lot of producers started off as desktop music nerds or had love for such a subculture. (and ofc a lot of early post-miku vocaloid music had that charming sort of DTMer midi touch to it so its triple the nostalgia) this isnt the most subversive example, but i really love this album like crazy

also another h/m is 2nd gen kpop. i am not a kpop guy, i only had friend's recs in the early 10's— but i have a lot of love for that music and that is what kpop is to me. i don't really like a lot of the current trends (songs almost entirely in english, egregious rapping where none of the members have any flow, everything being girl crush) its just not fun to me. i think current kpop needs to be fun again its too serious, then i might actually get more into it or at least enjoy it as a bystander. more songs like this please

But Shoto really is the definition of innocence

So really, it wouldn’t ever dawn on him on how killer his s/o’s body is

At first when these incidences happened he was very conflicted, not understanding this intense jealousy and need to protect you

But after a while of contemplating his feelings, he understood it was because he was protective of you

This man is PROTECTIVE

He does little things you would never reallly notice until you actually do

Like when he takes you home after hanging out or a date, he lingers a little longer outside your door to make sure you’re inside safely

Or when you’re walking together he will make sure your walking inside the street and away from the cars

Also has a tendency to grab your waist or your hand when a group of men come your way

He just gets paranoid okay 🥺🥺🥺

And because he’s so protective, he doesn’t practically like that you’re being taken advantage of sometimes because of your kindness

Especially when it comes to other men

On a few occasions Shoto has spotted you in a sticky situation with a guy who was being a little too close for comfort

It would make you uncomfortable of course, you had a boyfriend you already loved a lot-

but you felt kind of bad just being a total bitch to this guy who desperately wanted a chance

So you’d just awkwardly laugh and smile with their stupid pick up lines, trying your best to be polite but also show you weren’t interested

But Shoto at this point has radar for when your in trouble, and just pops out of nowhere 💀

He’s not the type to flaunt his relationship by impulsively kissing you or anything like that, but he’ll show it in subtle ways

Like calling you “dear” or wrapping his arm around your waist

Honestly, the look of pure relief and comfort in your face shows more than Shoto could have ever done,,,

And that Shoto was deifnitely someone that was more than just a “guy fiend” and soemthing like that

Also Shoto would give them a look that could kill and that instantly scares the shit out anyone lmao

These dudes faces would deflate like balloons real quick, cause at this point everyone knows who Shoto Todoroki is

And how the hell can they compete with that

Instant “oh shit my bad” type energy

After those incidents, Shoto locks down way harder

He practically has you glued to his side, and he doesn’t let go

Like at all

Get used to it cause for the rest of the day Shoto is gonna be following you around like some body guard 💀

Im tired of this, and its time someone said it.

Naruto forgave Sasuke and still called him a friend after he nearly ended his life

Naruto forgave Gaara despite him aiding in the invasion of his village, was crushing the love of his life at the time, nearly killed his best friend, and helped cause the death of his Hokage

Naruto forgave Obito and called him the coolest guy despite him causing his parents death and is the reason he became a Jinchuriki and was miserable his whole life

Naruto spared Nagato who killed his sensei and destroyed his entire village and killed a ton of innocent people and tortured his friend right infront of him

Naruto's dream was to become Hokage yet he refused to achieve it if he couldnt save one friend

Narutos dream was to become Hokage yet he became good friends with Gaara who nearly helped destroy that dream

Narutos dream was to become Hokage yet he spared the man who nearly destroyed that dream by nuking his whole village and killed his sensei and only family

Narutos dream was to become Hokage yet he spared the man who was actively trying to take that from him during the war by putting everyone asleep

Naruto's perception of Hokage is someone who saves people, who sees everyone in the village as family, who wants to create a safe haven where anyone, even people like Kawaki can feel safe and at home, and most of all if he cant even save one friend then he has no right to be Hokage

Stop this BS about Kawaki destroying the village so Sarada could never forgive him for destroying her dream, thats a danm lie and its literally presented over and over and over how understanding and forgiveness is Naruto's Hokage way, ya know, the guy she admires and wants to be like.

And before anyone tries to say 'Yeah but thats Naruto not Sarada' even if you try the shes more like Sasuke argument, last I checked didnt he admit he lost and that Naruto's way was better? isnt he now following Naruto's morals an ideals? and did he or did he not forgive and is now loyal to the village that caused all his suffering? and lastly, did or did Sarada NOT say she wanted to follow a different path than her father? and before you say she meant just his job, she literally asked Boruto something basic as which direction do he thinks her dad would go and went the opposite way. So lets not play these games.

When Sarada said she was going a different path from her father she meant in ANY capacity, even something as simple as an exam test.

THIS WAS HER REACTION TO SASUKE ABOUT TO CUT DOWN A TOTAL STRANGER. She cried literal tears for a kid who tried to kidnap her and held her mother hostage, she showed mercy and empathy for her literal enemy, begging Sasuke not to kill him, and yall think shes gonna be ruthless like that towards Kawaki?

A key thing Sasuke says here says it all, “Im not as soft as Naruto” meanwhile Sarada stares in horror and in tears as he says this. Even if she doesnt try to kill him and you argue that Boruto will, theres no way in hell she wouldnt intervene, ESPECIALLY for a former friend. If she’d beg for the life of her enemy to be spared, she’d danm sure beg Boruto to spare Kawaki’s.

Im tired of yall actin like you didnt watch the same show that preached nonstop about forgiveness and saving people from darkness and the most important theme of REDEMPTION for even the worst of the worst people. 

And yall think Kawaki is Irredeemable?

Yall know danm well Boruto is not gonna be THAT dark and just completely abandon 15 years of messaging and all of a sudden become this depressing, nihilistic, unforgiving, irredeemable, seinen lvl BS when the show is clearly heavily targeted at children and young teens, ya know, the Shounen genre. 

There will be dark themes yes but not THAT dark. "Yea but this isnt Naruto anymore" what show are you watching? this is literally Naruto with a fresh coat of paint and new characters with very few differences, in fact its Naruto but done worse. 

Cut the BS, we all know where Boruto is headed, it'll get darker and yes there will be tragedy but Boruto is the star of hope who we all know will ultimately succeed in saving everyone, including Kawaki, and defeating the big bad. They'll rebuild the village again and it'll be a mostly happy ending minus the losses along the way. 

Toneri literally gives Boruto this prophecy and its a positive one, meanwhile Momoshiki implies a negative fate in store for him, 2 Otsutsuki’s but 2 completely different prophecies. Which essentially means Boruto’s fate could go either way, meaning just as Boruto could LOSE everything like Momoshiki envisioned, he could also be the light that’ll dispell the darkness and save the world from destruction. For a shounen manga and a shounen protagonist, which one do you really think is more likely? come on now. 

Just as Naruto was the child of prophecy, Boruto is essentially the same thing, he could go down the wrong path or the right one, and we all know hes gonna go down the right one.
