my favorite scene in all of literature is when Neil Josten wakes up in Columbia after being drugged, hurls an alarm clock at Aaron, dumps his water on the floor and throws the cup at Aaron, stuff his clothes down the toilet and squeezes out through the window, has the foresight to call Matt from a pay phone to protect his shit, hitch hikes back to campus, eyes back to brown?? shows up on Wymack’s door like 😜 and reveals he could speak German the whole time?? CHARACTER OF ALL TIME, that is a protagonist who knows how MOVE THE MFING PLOT ALONG

#My dad always told me one of the most important things about writing #Is that your protagonist needs to be the one driving the plot lol #like Neil really mfing does that #He gets the plot moving and when it does it HAULS ASS #One of the most beautiful things about tfc #Is that Nora creates the most insane world and as a reader your like??😂 wtf #But then she writes a character who is perfectly suited to deal with that insane world #it’s so endlessly satisfying to read. All the characters speak other languages perfectly for some reason? No worries.#so does Neil. They like fight with knives and love to slam each other into walls? NO WORRIES #so does Neil #Bitch and he’s 5’3???? MY MAN #Novel of all time #protagonist of all time #Solidified its place in the canon of great literature #nora sakavic #all for the game #aftg #the foxhole court #tfc #neil josten

This was pretty much my first thought when Amy showed up. I know it probably won't happen but wow it sure is convenient that the game Amy debuted in was the one with the magic rocks that control spacetime...

(I also just like the idea that Stone is significantly more effective than Robotnik and when sufficiently motivated to work against Sonic and gang, he just... wins. Good thing for them then that he wasn't particularly interested in those time powers beyond using them for a Resurreggtion)

My thought process here was that this was only possible because Stone had the exact time and position of Eggman's death down to the millisecond thanks to the livestream, and he wouldn't have been able to do this without that information. So no bringing back Maria, sorry Shadow 😔

Also sorry for putting you in a glue trap Sonic I sure hope that washes out

reveal of my gordon hlvrai costume project, now that about half of it is done! this is cardstock and glue and tape and more glue and paint and velcro. and 2 gloves (one hand-sewn)

i got started sometime in early-mid fall, but i committed to making it work with cardstock in january- it was originally meant to be a sizing test before construction with eva foam over the summer. then i realized how expensive thatd be, too much pressure for a form of craft ive never practiced. im pretty amazed with how its come together, even with the large seams! during that whole time when it was unpainted (started painting two weeks ago) there was no way to tell

#thank you sketchfab thank you blender thank you pepakura #school library printer… you were necessary but i dont appreciate that i had to pay per page despite my tuition #i started this because theres a tradition of wearing whatever you want to graduation at my college. ive thought abt how cool itd be to wear #an hev suit like gordon hlvrai.. hlvrai has been important throughout my whole time at college. that plus the stem degree im going for makes #hlvrai the most fitting thing to homage with my outfit #*so important to me #the support of my friends was the last push i needed before research #i havent seen anyone else go for the in-game low poly look for the hev suit! multiple tutorials out there (as expected)#but all i saw involve eva foam and molding. most of them were based on the half life 2 suit which. yeah. that one seems more desirable for #cosplay #lucky that this way was much more simple because its also the most in-theme!#hlvrai #half life vr but the ai is self aware

The perfect drawing assignment!#Cats really do have a terrible power to negate the threat level of important tasks with their cuddles.#You may have important things to do. But the cat just sat on your lap and started to purr. The task is now lower priority.#Perhaps all cats are secretly warlocks cursed into compact form. They attempt to cast charm person on us and we let it happen.#They have fairly weak attack spells against humans (unless it lands a crit and then you're in trouble) so they specialized in charisma.#There's no way they are using INT as a spell casting modifier. DEX imaybe.#I could draw cat wizards all day - this is a dangerous rabbit hole for me to go down.#If you have a particularly wizardly cat...Please....please show them to me.

But legitimately. I mulled this one over repeatedly for literal months. Like. Do I want them to get married in front of the cult? Should they even get married? It would be hilarious if the Goat married them and then cried at the altar the whole time, but also... that doesn't feel right, so maybe I won't do that. And then once I decided it should be a personal friendship-marriage ritual where it's just the pair of them making vows to each other, I wrote four different scripts and hated them all and ended up just pulling this one out of thin air pretty much on the spot and that was that. At one point, I wanted Lambert to basically suggest this idea and then have them get friend-married on the spot, but that didn't feel right (and it was also gonna be unreasonably long) so that's why there's no context going into this one. And the actual friend-marriage ritual is... maybe not the best designed one ever? I wanted it to in some ways be similar to like, the way I imagine a romantic marriage happening in the cult- the parties exchange vows and do rings and stuff...? (If it's not obvious, I haven't been to many weddings...) But I figured they wouldn't want an audience, or to party with the whole cult afterwards, or anything like that. I also had them kiss each other's rings as opposed to like... faces... because one of the fights I had with myself in deciding how I would want this to go was whether it would make sense for them to kiss or not. And I ultimately decided that in this AU at least they just wouldn't want to. They're also wearing the rings on their not ring fingers cuz. Honestly it just felt right that way. Based on vibes. But basically I just wanted them to exchange a vow of eternal partnership in a very casual, chill setting, because I don't picture QPR AU Narilamb doing... anything other than that.

Also this is the rest of Lambert's office, which I actually had a pretty clear vision for after my last doodle but I didn't really bother to draw before starting this comic. Maybe I should've but eh it looks good enough. Interior backgrounds are hard......

Anyways. I think I'm happy with this one? I was enamored by the concept of a chill friendship marriage, so I definitely leaned into it here. As per usual, it's not perfect, I think I could've done a lot of stuff better / differently, but honestly?? If I were to ever get friend-married I would want it to go about like this, it makes my little aroace heart happy, and I spent too long on it to not show it to anybody. Thus. Enjoy, and also happy new year cuz I totally forgot to make a post individually about that...
