What is fma. I'm reading that post like a fever dream because I have NO IDEA what this is,,

Okay so imagine you're like ten and your mom is dead and you and your brother perform the most heretical experiment known to man and almost kill yourself (and your brother) completely, only to find yourself disabled permanently by it but not NEARLY as much as your brother is, so you and your brother tour the country trying to figure out how to restore the health you lost. God is punishing you personally. But is that a god? What is a god? When there is war, who watches over the soldiers' crimes? Who watches over the innocent? Who hears the wails of the dying? Who watches over the healers? Who lives? Who dies? Who is profiteering from the spoils of war? Who, exactly, is in your family? Can you tell the face of a friend from the face of your enemy? Is caring about your fellow man enough to save the world? What if it isn't? Who lives? who dies? WHY? Does a theoretical god decide? Does NO ONE decide? Are we all marching to our fates, or are our paths pre-determined?? What is above man?! What is above man's governing body?! WHAT IS ABOVE A GOD?

I'm rewatching fma and started watching arcane, so I can't help but draw parallels -- what is it with the spherical objects that contain dangerous and destructive power?

also I genuinely loved it when Arcane mentioned alchemy. I now like to think that fma and arcane are two different universes that yet use the same source of magic, and magic just evolved differently to adapt to a specific universe or its people.
