General

Sanji is the insomniac hero while Usopp is the partner! I believe partner from Mystery Dungeon have many similarities to Usopp so that's why, they're both learning to grow from being timid and having a fiesty attitude.

they do not have a team name because I'm a bit stumped honestly!

Sanji (Torchic) got washed ashore Krabby beach with no memories and got taken in by Spinda to be his apprentice. Works as Spinda's cafe, he knows a lot about apples, gummis, and their properties to raise ones skill and has definitely scared off ill meaning explorers

Usopp (Sandshrew) a young adventurer from a nerby village, aimed to join Wigglytuff's guild to become a great explorer likes his father, but always tends to fall back before he could enter the guild.

He's fun because PMD has a lot of gimmicks, he's too scared to use moves and relies on gadgets such as orbs, wands, seeds, gravelrocks, and sticks, etc. I believe he'd be sharp at noticing dungeon traps!

How they met

This is loosely based off of PMD : EoS, but I adjusted it. So!! After Usopp runs off to the beach and get his special rock stolen, he dashes to Spinda's Cafe for help, but ends up bumping into one of the waiters (Sanji).

This triggers Sanji's dimensional scream (It's a power where the hero sees the vision of the future when they touch someone/something). He saw himself facing against two pokemon who stole Usopp's rock. The sandshrew already has a reputation of lying, so hearing the Torchic stand up to chase down the criminals was odd!

They manage to recieve the Sandshrew's rock back and, he offers Sanji to join his team. They bicker for awhile, mostly the Torchic berating how reckless the Sandshrew was before reluctantly accepting it. He wants to know what that vision was, he wants his memories to return once more.

If it means he has to bear wirness to a loud mouth sandhsrew to get it, then so be it. Off to wigglytuff's guild!

Funny reading all the comments about Monster and how Odysseus "stops being kind" when... that's not it?

Like even in Different Beast, Odysseus refuses to kill the sirens completly. He is still the same he was in Remember Them, he still lets them live. Sure, cutting their tail may drown the sirens but it's like saying blinding Polyphemus, who only has ONE eye, is assuring his death.

Ody becomes a MONSTER when he sacrifices his 6 men without telling them about Scylla. He becomes a MONSTER when he plans to kill Eurylochus at that cave because he is filled with EMOTIONS and BETRAYAL. When he realizes that it's HIS MEN he cant trust, not the literal mythological monsters. He becomes the BOSS FIGHT, like Scylla is.

He becomes the MONSTER when the humans no longer are the ones he wants to protect.

in my dream last night they released a bill cipher themed soda called Decipher and I tried to go get some but insane wacky nonsense kept interrupting me before I could. I mean the nonsense had to do with the plot of the rest of the dream but it just kept showing up at the exact moment that I was about to get my soda. Ive just remembered the plot of the rest of the dream was that all of the straw hat piratds were there at tbis theme park we were in and some other group of pirates were trying to bully nico robin. the other pirate group was goth btw. their captain almost died from getting splashed with acid (by nico robin) (it was justified). But I didnt see that happen bc really I was mostly focused on getting my dumb soda.

Yesss - if there is one thing Zoro is, above anything else, he's loyal! I haven't drawn much out yet, but I do see him being not exactly perfect with this (he does tumble along, says some insensitive stuff, really doesn't get Sanji for the longest time because they communicate badly) but! When shit hits the fan he is there! And of all the strawhats I think he'd be the most quiet/calm/stalwart support there is. (And Zoro is definitely pro choice, I do see him as someone for whom it's as simple as 'he doesn't want this so it's not gonna happen'.) With alllllll the other things they argue about, this should be a huge fight. But it doesn't happen - not here, and not about that.

“The lair of Scylla..” Odysseus whispered to himself. The ship was slowly creeping into the lair itself as he looked out to the water. Faintly, he could see a black outline, a blur even, of something. His head rested against his shoulder as the black blur swam underneath. “This is our only way home…”

“Deep down…” His eyes peaked in interest at the humming of a song. She was waiting. Waiting for what he would do.

“Your quiet today.” Someone said from behind him. Their voice tired and filled with warmth that hid their concern and guilt. Eurylochus.

“Deep down…” She repeated. Odysseus response was a slight shrug. “Not much to say.”

“Deep down!” Her voice was mixed with voices of the men beneath him. “You hide a reason for shame…” she stated. The sound made Eurylochus flinch before saying, “I’ve got a secret I can no longer keep.”

“Deep down! you know that we are the same…” The line rang in his ear, like she was whispering in his ear as of now. “I opened the windbag while you were asleep!” Eurylochus cried out in guilt and shame.

Odysseus eyes only widened slightly before looking down at the water. It wasnt that he was suprised. It was the fact that his second in command finally confessed. He guessed that it was him for a while. And knowing his fleet, he reckoned that everyone but him knew who opened it.

His heart shattered by the betrayal, but his mind reshaped it with chains and a lock.

He couldn’t afford to lose control, not now. Not when they were so close.

“Leaving them feeling betrayed…” She taunted. He couldn’t tell if he was talking about him or Eurylochus however. “Breaking the bonds that you’ve made…”

“I’m so sorry!”

“There is no price we won’t pay…” He knows that. For every action they had took, a punishment awaited them. And he would do anything to see her again, no matter the cost. No matter the price.

“Forgive me!”

“We both know what it takes to survive…” He knew. He knew all too well. That’s why he didn’t dare tell them what had to happen. It would hurt, yes, but it was necessary.

“Full speed ahead!” “Full speed!” “Full speed ahead!” The callings from His crew snapped him out of the haze he was in. Noticing the hand on his shoulder. “Full speed ahead!”

“Deep down! We only care for ourselves…”

He sent a soft smile to his friend before replying. “Eurhlochus, light up six torches.” Seeing his brother smile with relief and happiness shattered his chained heart but he couldn’t afford to hear its cries.

“Deep down…” her voice sounded closer, to close “We’re lonely demons from hell..”

“Captain,” Eurylochus called out. “Something approaches.” As he shined his tourch outwards. He saw it.

He saw her.

“Ħęłļø”

The crew bodies terrified with shock and their faces full of fear. But Odysseus simply stared tiredly at her. He knew what she was. A six headed sea monster who only fleshed on the living. She didn’t eat monsters like her, thinking of them like siblings.

It’s why he didn’t leave any of the sirens alive, he’s certain that she would leave them alive.

It’s why he’s so certain. Why he knows that she wouldn’t attack him.

With a deep inhale, he let his fear overcome him, he needed to make it convincing, and yelled out with all his heart could offer:

“Row for your ŁĮVËŞ!”

Becoming deeply radicalized against the idea of crewed Mars missions, y'know how the Rovers keep sending back better and better data what if instead of that we made an even bigger one and devoted nearly 90% of its capacity to holding a guy in a bubble on top of it instead of sending back useful data, but wait! They'll eliminate like a half hour of latency and also almost certainly contaminate the landing site and possibly the entire planet, so it's not all downside.
