Seems intense and uncomfortable, but honestly it just makes us crack more...'honest' jokes? There are times where he's said 'maybe some day we'll get over the hump and be closer', and around the time where I first met him I immediately made jokes like 'why are you happy that's not allowed' and we're not genuinely bothered by it. There's not much beating around the bus because--

We accidentally can pick up on who the other authentically is. We don't fully see the person obviously, but we can tell when there's a filter or mask compared to when they're 'comfortable'. There is a lazy quality to the relationship as well. Both our seventh houses are empty, and we have flipped charts -- so we get how the other person acts. We don't take it personally if the other person isn't responding, and if we want to do something selfish we'll invite them if they're around or go about our business.

Honestly the overlays aren't that special here so I'm moving on lmao

My Sun Sextile 🕹️'s Mercury / My Mars Conjunct 🕹️'s Mercury

Flow of communication and the mars leads to a fun aspect; source of bantering and shit-talking. This combination can make sure that one person doesn't go too far with their jokes or actually insults the other person, but both parties still have fun.

⌨️ This one is very short because honestly our relationship consists of us randomly interacting with each other for two weeks and then disappearing for four months. Which brings me to an interesting point for this episode:

We are the only ones we don't bother about responses and initial impressions are always thrown off

As I said, we both have pretty solitary charts, but sometimes we annoy people -- but we never annoy each other. There's an understanding and also laziness to bothering the other person. Mid conversation most times, and we'll joke/insult the other person about it and move on.

He is a Leo Rising, so ofc his charm is gonna be more loud while I'm more elusive. People assume he's sociable and loves being the life of the party while I'm shy, but it's the opposite. We both love hanging out, but I have more endurance and willingness to socialize whereas he would rather disappear after a bit. So meeting someone with your DSC as their ASC is very nice in these aspects.

ok i wanna talk about tmnt 2007 and the way i think this is the best version of a leo and raph conflict, and also leo as a character

for context i've been talking about tmnt things kinda chronologically, so i'm gonna mention an unconditional understanding in 03 i bring that up in a previous post about that show and the family dynamics in it here if u want context for what i mean

i think this movie can really be appreciated for the place it has between adaptations, and the way character-wise everyone is more or less the same as they've always been but with a more interpersonal relationship as the focus. the main villain of this movie doesn't really matter, the conflict, the fights, that's not where the strength is (although, it is reflected in the conflict and ill get into that)

so tmnt 07 is one movie that kind of combines the 90s movies, 03, and mirage all in one place, and tonally is is similar to the show that will come after it, 12. if the 90s movies give us conflict between leo and raph, and 03 gives us the unconditional understanding between the two, 07 takes these two aspects and creates a story out of it. (debate in your own mind if this movie is a literal sequel to the 90s ones or not, its not that important)

the set up of this movie is we are in a post killing the shredder world. leo has been told by splinter to go get training elsewhere, there isn't much context for what happened to cause this, but i would bet its a similar cause to 03, where he had ptsd and lashed out at his father to which splinter sends him to his grandfather to get better advice than he thinks he can give him. the difference here is there is no grandfather hes sent to, he's sent on a journey of self discovery around the world to learn about it and himself.

the thing about leo as a character, and this goes for all leos, he's has a very black and white way of thinking. leo thinks he's been sent away because he's failing his family, that he's not a good enough leader. so he stays away for longer because he doesn't feel good enough. he finds a place where he can help and he does that. leo always needs a bad guy to fight, or else he's fighting his own demons. so he stays there for a long time. finding a place he can help quietly, never letting anyone see him, and becoming a legend to the locals because no one knows what's really going down.

april manages to track him down and tell him about whats going on with his brothers, how they're holding up without him and without being a team, and i think thats a good reminder for him that they miss him. he doesn't tell april but he finds a way home only after hearing about this. when he arrives and speaks to splinter, he says "i was so caught up in my own world i forgot about everyone else, i'm sorry i failed" he still doesn't feel like he's done anything of worth.

i'm gonna jump in here and say, you know how we all love rise raph? cuz hes the big brother and some traits that come from that are like being overprotective and taking on everyone else's problems and trying to handle emotions alone? well that's a trait thats usually leo's. but the difference with leo is sometimes that concept doesn't make you as likeable. sometimes it means you come off like a nagging mother hen who thinks they know best but in an arrogant way. sometimes it makes you mirror being a parent when no one asked you to be. leo's less of a passionate character than raph, hes more analytical and full of himself. he takes splinters lessons more seriously, and hes always trying to do whats best for everyone so they don't have to worry. this is something evident with 03 and 12, but its so specifically noticeable here because these traits make up the main conflict. i just want to bring that up so we start seeing leo as no different than some of our other favourite iterations.

splinter responds to his apology by saying "you owe me no apology, but perhaps you should talk to raphael, your absence has been particularly difficult for him, though he'll never admit it" but when leo greets him raph is brushing him off.

on raph's end, this is him being angry that leo left, and angry that hes back and everyone wants to pretend that he wasn't gone at all. as if the time he was gone didn't happen. hes lashing out because he too cant handle talking about these emotions. and hes lashing out by becoming a vigilante in his own right.

i see a lot of people misunderstand what raph is doing here, that "this is what the turtles always do" or "this is the same as what leo was doing how could he be mad" when that is not true. that's what casey does. its true that both leo and raph have been fighting bad guys on their own (as a way of dealing with their issues) but raphael has made himself a costume to disguise himself which means hes prepared to be seen. hes riding a motorcycle around, which is loud. this isn't stealthy, this is aggressive. his vigilante name is in the news. the turtles are ninjas, they silently help where they can and fade into the night and, very specifically, they work as a team. these turtles live in a dangerous world, what if something happened to him while no one else was around? they would never know because he never told anyone.

so raph is lashing out, and leo doesn't have a good way of dealing with it. he tries to slide back into being leader, doing what splinter says but he forgets how his brothers are, and with raph egging them on they get into fights they shouldn't. which leo specifically gets in trouble for, as the oldest brother, and as their leader. leo tries to be this better leader hes supposed to have learned to be, but it doesn't work and raph ends up back out there in his vigilante get up. leo tracks down said vigilante, and in his peak "leo knows best" moment, lectures him, not knowing its his brother. there's a scuffle, and the mask comes off. let me point out that casey knew this vigilante was raph but his own brother didn't, because leo has been gone that long.

so lets get into what this fight is really about. on the surface, its "wow you've been going out at night alone putting yourself in dangerous situations with no backup" and "so what you're just mad that i can do it without you" which leo would be right about. and this is the analytical leo, he really thinks that's all that's going on here. what hes missing is that raphael has missed him as a brother, and hes hurt that leonardo left and just came back no big deal. that he wants everything to be normal. raphael is always a character with big emotions and the only outlet he knows to express them is violence.

leo, who as we've established, went away to learn to be better for his family is angry that raph doesn't see that. he's mad raph doesn't appreciate the effort he went to, and he thinks he's just angry because he's not in charge. each brother sees the other as being arrogant.

this leads them to the big fight. no one can disagree that this is the best part of the movie (seriously watch the movie for this scene if you haven't seen it before) , but the real best part of it is that raphael wins. raph proves hes just as capable of a fighter as his brother, if not more-so. he uses those sais as they're supposed to be used, catching leo's swords and in a fit of rage he fucking breaks them, leaving leo defenceless and completely vulnerable to attack. you'd think he'd be smug that leo lost but he pauses, going through a lot of emotions in a moment, questioning what he's doing, why hes doing it. and leo finally looks his brother in the eye and sees raph going through something he didn't before, realizing raph hasn't been angry that he's back, but that he's angry that he ever left. they don't have a conversation, because raph cant handle all these emotions and he runs away, crying as he does. leo just watches him, taking it all in and realizing the error of his ways.

hearing leo scream turns raph around, but he's too late to help him, and this is where raph regrets his own actions because right then, leo is also proven right in his argument. because he gets kidnapped. if leo hadn't chased raph down, there is a very good chance that would have been raph being kidnapped. with no backup, with no one knowing what happened to him. that's why its important that the turtles are a team.

raph goes home full of guilt, and there's a good moment of showing how he cannot open up emotionally here, because he grunts, punches the wall, knocks over some weights and forces splinter to ask him what happened, because that's how raphael is. he laments to his father that he finally understands why leo is the better son, proving that to raph none of this was about their team, but about their family. conflating the two ideas in his head. splinter gives him a talk that mirrors what he said to leo when he returned earlier in the movie, encouraging him that he is a good son and brother. this shows that these brothers have very similar insecurities about their value to their family.

the rest of the movie plays out as you expect, they go save leo, they stop the bad guy, they reconcile and behave as the team they're supposed to be. but i just want to point out that the villains plot is mirrored in leo and raph's conflict. the 'villain' here is a brother who has been cursed to be immortal without his own siblings. for 3000 years he lived to regret his actions and decided to undo his curse, but he used the cursed stone versions of his siblings to do so. no communication, just thinking he knew better (which maybe he did) and lying about it. that caused them to lie to him right back, and try to overthrow him and destroy the world. this is just one family whose inner turmoil could have destroyed the world. you might say, oh that's not a very interesting turtles villain, but its not supposed to be. its not the focus.

this movie is all about the complicated relationship between a family, and i see so many people talk about it by trying to ask who's right and who's wrong. that's not how it works. life is more complicated than that, people are more complicated than that. its boring to look at this movie and just say "leo is wrong and raph is right" because that's not even how the characters see it. this movie is about leo and raph being mirrors of each other in their arrogance, in their insecurities, and in their stubborn pig-headed refusal to let the other know how they feel. splinter says as much at the start of the movie. this whole movie shows that without each other, they need to be fighting something so they don't get swept up by their own emotions, which they are both bad at processing. they are SUCH brothers. they are so similar emotionally, yet they have such a hard time understanding each other.

personally 07 leo is my favourite leo for his complexity, his flaws his strength, his growth. its sad we never got those sequel movies to get into the other brothers heads as much as we got into leo and raphs heads.

also nolan north and james arnold taylor gave the best vocal performances in this movie and they deserve all the credit for it.

What if the turtles were in the pokemon world? And what if they were never turtles, but in fact, mutated pokemon? What if they lived in the Castelia sewers of Unova instead of New York?

Meet my Rise/Pokemon AU!! Waaaah this has been on my mind for MONTHS now. Pokemon is that one fixation that'll never leave me. I'm THAT pokemon fan that knows WAAAAY too much about the games and lore. For those that don't know,

Raph is Drednaw

Leo is Wartortle

Mikey is Torkoal

Donnie is Lapras

Yes. They are all shiny. I started with raph, since him as drednaw is pretty much a no brainer. The shiny form fit too well with him and his color scheme. Than I realized if I made him shiny, I had to make the other bros shiny as well so THEY ALL SHINY. (draxum shiny hunter confirmed?) Also dual rock typing fits well with raph's character.

Wartortle for leo was also a pretty obvious choice. I MEAN LOOK AT HIM. Long flowy tail? Yes please. I had to keep his markings somehow. Wartortle has little dark cheek spots, so I just changed them to be leo's markings. Water typing leo. Go with the flow, think on the spot, it worked out too well.

Torkoal for Mikey was another easy one. Fire turtle? Passionate, warm, also DANGEROUS (he can be a menace ok) Say no more. His powers in rise are already pyro related. Also having him shiny helped a lot with the color scheme. Torkoal is normally orange so having mikey be the yellow shiny form meant I didn't have to mess with his mask colors

Donnie on the other hand....OHHH BOI I STRUGGLED WITH YOU. I went through 4 DIFFERENT POKEMON, before deciding on the least turtle like of them all. I am aware that we do have a softshell pokemon with enamorous, but it's a legendary so thats not happening. But it was really important for me to keep donnie's soft shell and battle shell. I wanted this to be a RISE au and donnie's battle shell is pretty tied into his character. (there's also tirtouga which I almost went with, but I didn't like that both he and raph shared the exact same dual typing) Soooo, Lapras. Its more of a loch ness monster but it also draws inspiration from a placochelys (prehistoric seaturtle esque species) so IM COUNTING IT. Very unconventional but I have my reasons. Ice typing is a good offensive type, but is pretty bad defensively. Which ties into rise donnie's fighting style. If I wasn't a coward, I wouldve made donnie the biggest of the bros. Since lapras is like 8 feet tall compared to the others being like 1-3 feet. But uhhh, I swear I have an in universe explanation for why he's so small ok.

And than there's April. She is not a pokemon trainer in this au. At least not in the traditional sense. I've been with pokemon for all of my 26 years of life, and I always wanted to know what the normal people of the pokemon world are up to. Not everyone is out here collecting gym badges, travelling, or catching them all. How do non-trainers interact with the pokemon world? So that's where I'm at with April. She will get a pokemon partner, but other than that, she's just an average high schooler who befriended the turtles from a young age and takes part in all their shenanigans. I took some design elements from rosa and hilbert with her outfit, but otherwise its pretty much the same.

We'll see how far I'll take this. I've been using this as a break from my many other projects, but like everything I do, it grew too many legs and is slowly becoming its own thing.

it just felt so... empty?? i dont really know how to explain it but, the lack of brothers interacting and anything ninja related, kinda made me frown

why did it feel nothing like a tmnt show??? my brother said "it looks like it took some ideas from rottmnt and just... made it worse", and in a way i agree? its like, in a way, this show wants to please everyone but doesn't have the balls to go full original and new like rise did...

i was very optimistic about it before its release, the turtles in high-school is something i dreamed of when i was a child! AND THE SHOW JUST BLUE BALLED ME??? I GET JUST SOME MENTION ABT WHAT THEY ARE DOING IN SCHOOL BUT ITS NEVER SHOWN AND THAT MAKES ME GRRRR

bishop arc: i really liked the general plot of this one ok, but since the first ep i could see one of the main problems with tottmnt, EACH EP IS ABT A SINGLE TURTLE retelling their version of what happened in the same moment, that could be cool, BUT THAT MEANS THE BROTHERS INTERACT WITH EACHOTHER IN ONLY 2 EPISODES CIRCA

also why does everyone kinda have the same personality (by this i mean cus they react basically the same in every situation, apart if there's a computer/something technological, then donnie would use it/the other 3 would say something abt like "donnie could use it")

and they are so chill abt their problems (leo's self worth issues, raph's anger issues) ? like everything is so lighthearted and they already know how to deal and therapy talk??

i wonder how they will get to grow as characters cus as of now, they are already way more mature than any other tmnt version???

okay, so im trying to work out the timeline of rise and i need a place to log my shit so i can remember my thought process.

a lot of rambling is under the cut btw. i hope its coherent for my own records if nothing else

so. season one theyre said to be m:13, d:14, l:14, r:15, and a:16. april has a birthday episode in season one. according to the air date of "warren and hypno sitting in a tree," this birthday occurred on June 1st, 2019. ignore the actual date if you have a different headcanon for her birthday bc its not actually important, but im using it as a base for her age.

so if april is 16 at the start of season 1, she should be turning 17, right? no. later, in "always be brownies," one of casey's girls calls her old and april responds with "im 16!" so she turned 16 on her birthday. the air date of that episode was may 15, 2020. so she hasn't had her next birthday yet. this means that the show started with her as 15 and there is a period of time in which she is the same age as raph

we cannot 100% follow the air date as the day those events happened in universe, however, because that puts a lot of conflicting episodes happening at the same time. (ex: "mystery meat" & "always be brownies," "the hidden city job" & "sidekick ahoy!" as those 4 all came out on the same day, but the significant characters of those episodes were in both of the two i paired each with. arguments could be made that they both could have happened tho. for example, take the latter pairing i made. leo and donnie had a fight and leo went to hueso's to find an "im sorry i called you a selfish, egg headed weirdo" pizza, and did the heist. after repairing his relationship with donnie, they all go on a jupiter jim marathon, and the events of "sidekick ahoy!" occur. so we're gonna ignore that bc arguments can be made)

(i have headcanons on their birthdays, but thats another post.) april would then turn 17 before the fam takes their trip to the hidden city and all get arrested

and now ive kinda lost the flow for where i was going with this. i will say that, based on air dates again, "the lair games" and "flushed but never forgotten" happened between "the purple game" and "man vs sewer," meaning that piebald got flushed around the episodes "minotaur maze" and "bug busters"

the air dates, especially for season 2 are gonna be kinda inaccurate since they were pushed back because of covid, but it could be interpreted that in universe everyone was quarantined for a bit while there were no episodes.

He even tried talking to one of his brothers or april, asking for an advice or just rant to them.

It was a saturday night, requested by april that they should watch a lou jitsu movie or have a movie marathon.

of course Y/N was invited, thankfully she agreed to come.

so everyone prepared some snacks that they could provide at the table near.

"hey uh april, as much as i wanted to join you guys watch the lou jitsu movie for the hundreds of times, like i really REALLY do. but i still need to read my jupiter jim comics." leo says as he crossed his arm in a lazy stance.

"What! no no, think about it! the only reason i agreed to do this is for you to have the opportunity to go talk to Y/N, confront her about the whole situation!" April quickly stood up from where she's sitting on, leaving the others as she goes to leo.

"what's the point? she'll probably push me away, she HATES me april! and that makes me hate myself." leo frowns, his hands down in defeat.

April then goes and grabs his shoulders firmly. "and do you want her to hate you forever? i don't think so."

then when april saw Y/N's presence in the distance, she pushed leo to go on, as she goes back to the others.

Leo stumbled as he glanced at Y/N, he gulped then he stood straight, taking deep breaths, patting his plastron to keep him calm. "you got this leo.. just.. go talk to her!"

before turning to where Y/N was, as she looked at him, she stood there. completely frozen.

"Ohhh, Y/N it's so great to see you! do you mind talking for a bit?" Leo smiled at you.

"Uhm.. sorry, the movie's about to start and i don't-" She replied, cutting of her sentence while smiling awkwardly.

"I understand! totally. but it will be quick, i promise so please, just listen." Leo sighed, his genuinely looked concerened.

Y/N just stood there, didn't know what to say. she could feel her face heating up, trying to keep as much eye contact as possible to make it less awkward.

"you haven't talked to me, didn't answered all my calls, and we barely hang. what's wrong?"

No reply once again.

"I'm sorry, Y/N for whatever I'm done! but please talk to me, tell me what's wrong?" he says as he held your hands gently with.

Y/N gulped when she felt her hand touched his, soon looking at him. "I- uh.. i just.." she couldn't find the words.

Leo looked at her, as he leaned in closer to her face. "uhh Y/N?? are you okay?"

"Okay! OKAY! fine I'll tell you what's the problem!" Y/N moved her hands off him.

"I have feelings for you! i haven't felt this feeling from anyone else but only from you.. it hurts me to see us hanging less but you always take my breath away whenever you're around and can't help but feel so nervous! god.. i hated to tell you this because i didn't wanna ruin our friendship that we have." Y/N sighs, feeling humiliated with herself.

she noticed leo wasn't replying. assuming he was still processing all of this or something more worse.

"Y/N, is that really the problem because you couldn't handle my charm this much?" Leo chuckled, soon he cupped your face with his hands.

"but in serious thought, i also love you too, and i would hate to see us being apart ever again." he said this as he slowly leaned in to kiss you.

Y/N was so happy and is also glad to hear that it didn't end so badly, as she closed her eyes waiting for the kiss.

"Awwwww, this is so adorable!" mikey says from the distance, wiping a fake tear.

"Mikey!"

Leo soon glanced at his brothers, shocked. "you guys were watching us!?" he blushed

"we're still here, remember?" donnie rolled his eyes with a small smile on his face.

"This is better than watching the movie!" April Cheered.

Leo's hands didn't let go of Y/N's face, who was also blushing as hard ever, stunned at the situation.

"Well, might as well enjoy the show" leo smirked, as he looked at Y/N again as he leans in to finally kiss her.

which isnt me trying to toot my own horn or anything, i just really have appreciated the encouragement over the past uh. year and a half? that everyone has given me? like theres been ups and downs, but i gained a lot of confidence and felt like trying new things and being more creative. so many of the silly things ive enjoyed doing to make you laugh have turned into very genuine moments of joy and tears. like i genuinely have appreciated everybody who's ever looked at my work and said something nice idk WHAT i would be doing without that. like idk where else i would ever have felt comfortable enough to turn something like "what if the turtles watched star trek" into "mikey comes out as genderfluid" without people being so fucking nice and willing to hear me out and let me be sincere.

i always feel like i havent actually done that much art, but then i look back and im like whoa. wait thats actually a lot. and comics? strips and otherwise? ive never done that before! it just happened cuz people started being kind about my ideas and now ive gotten so much better! ive mentioned this before, but like i hadnt done art in....years. we're talkin 5 year gap at least. not for lack of trying. but honestly i often feel very dejected about my abilities and compare my work to others often. feel too old to be as amateur as i am. but genuinely, its meant a lot to just spread joy about something i like regardless of how good or bad i ever think i am at it. truly theres just a level of sincere kindness to things i create now that idk if i ever would have found without how nice and open people are.

Let's start with scorpio and jealousy, its not necessary all scorpio placements feel jealous toward one thing, scorpio suns tend to get jealous when someone else outshines them and they kinda get more "competitive" over jealous, i observed that scorpio moons tend to feel jealous abt their moms tho

+8h moons tend to feel "responsible" for things that happen with their siblings
