Just realized that the reason I love making friends on tumblr is because it’s exactly how you make friends on the playground as a six year old. No, I don’t know their name but they love mermaids too and built this awesome sand castle. No, I don’t know their age but their imaginary cheetah is friends with mine. You like this show? You like this character?? You can sing the theme song really loud??? Here is a flower crown. Here is a juice box. You can share my time and I might never see you again but part of you stays in my soul forever. In my mind we’re still on the swing set and the sky is blue and nothing will ever be wrong again.

also, shotout to hima for being the first creator who realized the full potiental of having a (prevalent) feminine audience and who leaned into it (see it isn't that hard... yk which shows im referencing to)

all his arts are so fanservicey, he knows his audience too well (queer ppl and the girlies) some looks straight up from otome/bl games, and the way his characters looks so squishy 😭❤️ his way of drawing men and women is so different from any other manga I've read, (apart from jojo, where everyone is fanserviced in the bizarre ways of araki) like yeah there's something undeniably queer about his art.

(+ the only real female fanservice character is ukraine but she is never wearing something distasteful or put in weird positions (afaik at least) so its still a win in the animanga community)

Was talking about Hetalia to my therapist (lucky her, I know) and I realized something. It's something that other people probably already know, but I wanted to throw it out there just because.

When season one came out, it sorta filled a weird gap in the anime world. Now, I don't know about everyone else, but from my perspective, the majority of anime at the time was overloaded with hyper-sexualized female casts of characters. All to appeal to the "male gaze" we are oh so intimately (and unfortunately) familiar with.

But then comes Hetalia, a series where, despite being unorthodox and batcrap crazy, has a largely male-dominated cast. Male characters who, at the beginning, weren't usually drawn or animated in an overtly sexual way. These were literally just guys in suits and military uniforms.

Granted, Hima drew some suggestive art of his characters in the early days, but I'm talking mainly about the anime here. And when Hima found out his base was largely young women and teen girls, he did eventually lean a bit more into making suggestive art of the characters. But a majority of his work has them in full suits and nice outfits. Heck, even a lot of this art still has them fully clothed.

I just find it interesting that Hetalia, in a way, filled an apparent gap when it came to anime fans. And it did so by giving us a bunch of guys in relatively nice outfits.

In short, Prussia was right.

Maddie who is friend with the narrators' daughter, and thanks to that she changes the course of the story and saves her friends 😭 she who (in the books) stops the narration to ask about anything she wants and the narrator tries hard not to spoil her the future, but fails everytime cus she links up everything together, this girlie knows everything about everyone ✨️

It's a kids show where Steve (or Joe or Josh if you're watching a later season) lives in a house with a his dog Blue and a bunch of animated inanimate objects. Steve and Blue invite their friends (the viewers) over every day to hang out, and we precede to follow Steve around as he goes about his day and eventually finds Blue's paw prints which are clues leading both us and Steve to the resolution of the episode whether it's remedying a fight or setting up for a party. Or something else entirely.

Steve and Blue defined a generation. Just saying.

Madeline Hatter

Is able to hear and address the show's narrators, usually in order to get them to stop bickering with each other

honestly, i think it's because kh3 wasn't really what fans wanted/expected = older fans losing interest from disappointment or just growing up + fandom culture has changed drastically from the 2010s, nowadays there's so much more negativity towards anything that is a little different... (just look how the mha fandom is considered by new anime fans) + it's an old franchise = doomed to have highs and lows regarding fandom activity + just the way people consume media nowadays, to experience kh you have to be full of whimsies and a good heart and allow it to devour your soul

kingdom hearts is something you have to live and breathe

tldr: people are very scared of being cringe and kh is the peak of cringiness (/lovingly) so we don't have the usual wave of new fans bringing new life into old content

last thoughts: it could also be because a saga has just ended, when we enter the new one, i hope we get lots of new ships and characters to analyse

This could easily be me posting from my bubble so feel free to tell me if I'm wrong but this Kingdom Hearts drought is really giving a fandom famine.

Like before KH3 was announced there were so many fanfics with so many ships and concepts - just a huge variety - and now I find they're all quite monolithic in their themes, ships approaches. It's a little boring. I'm not sure if it's because the people who were writing back in 2010-2012 moved on after KH3 or if it's the same people but there is just a lack of energy because it's been 3 years of radio silence, but yeah.
