Let it be known that none of them actually expected the idiots’ of the week’s ritual to work. The summoning hadn’t worked for literal centuries- everyone knew it had been sealed away, presumably forever!

(Of course they had no way to know that in the Infinite Realms actually used the term forever as a measurement of time, what with how time itself wasn’t particularly linear within. And to beings that could hypothetically live for eternity? Forever was a nice vacation time really) 

So maybe they hadn’t been exactly focused on stopping the ritual as much as they could of been, and by the time they realized it was working, well, it’d been a bit too late then. So yes, mistakes had perhaps in fact, been made. 

First had come the chill, the cold of the ground as your body was lowered down, the cold of your blood dripping from your living corpse. Then came the shadows, the darkness creeping along their vision as their soul slipped from their body. Followed by boiling heat, flames scorching through their flesh and tearing from their chests like a blade piercing their hearts. 

The form that emerged was massive, a cloak dripping crimson fluttering in the wind of an unseen battlefield, verdant flames licking at the air and causing the surrounding shadows to writhe. A dark growl echoed through the building, the stone below them shaking while deathly green eyes glowered down at the living with utter contempt. 

“Do any of you imbeciles know how long it takes to get ghostlings to sleep-”

ponyboy rests his head on his hand, eyes slowly blinking shut as the familiar drone of mrs spencer’s voice fades into the background.

only a few moments later is a fist slamming down on his desk, shaking him awake and making him jump.

“remind me again, mr curtis, the rules of my classroom?”

ponyboy sighs, holding back the strong urge to just roll his eyes and walk out, to take a leaf out of curly’s book.

“sorry, won’t happen again.” he clears his throat to rid his voice of the slight hint of sleep that echoes throughout the room.

she nods and strolls back to the front of the class, sparing glares and glances his way until the bell finally goes.

everyone fumbles with their backpacks, all but running out to make it home. mrs spencer beckons him over with a cruel finger, eyebrows furrowed.

“you don’t normally act like this. is it the shephard boy, i’ve seen you’ve been more friendly as of recent?” it’s posed like a question, but pony can hear the underlying accusation that could get him in more trouble than he thought.

ponyboy grits his teeth and swings his backpack over one shoulder.

“i just fell asleep, ain’t got nothin’ to do with curly. more to do with your shit teachin’ ain’t it?”

mrs spencer gasps slightly, cuffing him around the back of the head and pointing to the door with the same finger as before.

ponyboy greatly takes the invitation to leave and strolls out, meeting curly right outside the door with a maddening yet infectious grin that leaves ponyboy laughing.

“can’t believe you said that to ‘er”

“you’re a bad influence, curls.”

“eh, you ain’t too good yourself.”

Hi F451 tumblr. Can i go on an insane ramble. Montag is kind of just like the hound. Montag hound allegory 100…. Both because All We Put Into It is Hunting Fighting and Killing What a Shame If Thats All It Will Ever Know but ALSO i just know Beatty loves that damn hound. I can see him kneeling before it in my mind’s eye, lovingly adjusting chemical balance and making sure its joints are oiled and move comfortably, shining its exterior, cleaning its led eyes, taking it with him on jobs, slip lead held loosely around its great accordion rubber neck, giving it rats and mice to kill by hand, stroking that great chrome head with tenderness and adoration unbecoming of a man of Beatty’s status, and is Montag not his own hound? His best man? Does he not lovingly feed him books to destroy? Lies to believe? Did he not train him, build him in his own image? What love beatty feels is like how a god feels love, it’s retribution, punishment, ownership, in a way. Montag is his Hound, and does Beatty not take excellent care of his hound?

listen i know spirk is the big thing and i do get why. but you dont understand that when i was 12 my parents got me into scifi as a genre by getting me into tos space speed/movies 2 3 & 4. but 12 yr old me didnt have full context. 12 yr old me didnt know about spirk’s influence. 12 yr old me just saw spock and mccoy bicker before spock trusted his whole entire brain and memories with him before getting himself killed for (his) the crew’s sake. then in movie iii theres that scene when mccoy’s like whispering at him and admits “…i supposed i missed you. and i dont know if i could stand to lose you again.” then theres a big special ceremony just for the two of them where mccoy risks it all. what im saying is that spones awoke something in me

i’ve had this blog for a decade now, since i was 11 years old! and i’ve been posting my original drawings for 4.5 years, since i was 16. when i started posting my own work i had <100 followers, and yesterday i hit 5000!

i’m so grateful i get to share my drawings with this many people and i get to add happiness to the world in that way. thank you guys for being so kind and supportive of my dumb cartoons :)))
