“Would you be mine? Forever? Would you swear it?” Wilbur manages to gasp out between short breaths.

His chest is tight and his heart feels as if it will strangle itself at any moment. He thinks his hands might be shaking, fingers trying desperately to maintain a strong grip on the fabric of Dream’s shirt. But he doesn’t dare look at the other man (a friend? a companion? a savior? his savior?) in fear of rejection. So, he keeps his head facing downwards, watching almost absentmindedly as droplets of water fall onto the stone beneath him. But the panic is subsiding, at last, having felt like it lasted eons but probably only lasting mere minutes.

Dream’s hands take his own, carefully and with far too much ease prying his fingers away from the silk fabric the blond wears.

“No,” Dream says, his voice barely above a whisper yet firm.

Panic seizes Wilbur once again all too quickly. Blood rushes to his ears, and his head snaps up to stare at Dream in disbelief as more tears pool in his dark eyes. He wants to run away and curse himself for being so stupid. He wants to grab Dream by the shoulders and make him stay and change his mind.

“No,” Dream repeats again, softer this time. His palms cup Wilbur’s cheeks, and his thumbs gently brush away the tears. A smile graces Dream’s face, and the confusion Wilbur feels is enough to cause a sliver of clarity to break through the haze of panic.

“No,” Dream says for the third time. “I will not swear to be yours. But, you could be mine.”

Wilbur’s breath hitches. His entire life, he’s viewed others in terms of their relation to himself. He’s always been the one to claim other people. Having Dream propose an opposing truth—to be the pawn rather than the chest master—sparks a flame in Wilbur. It feels powerful and destructive and intoxicating. It’s addicting, and Wilbur can’t stop the giggle from climbing up his throat.

He’d run away from his past to save those he loved from him (and to save himself from the consequences of his actions), and he’d been so so scared of hurting Dream as well. But right now? Right now all he can think about is what a beautiful explosion they could make together.

“Yours, then,” Wilbur says breathlessly, the words falling from his lips like a prayer.

And, in this moment, kneeling in a long abandoned temple in the wake of a panic attack and high on the idea of possession, Wilbur can’t help but picture himself worshipping Dream. His God, he practices in his mind, and any thoughts of how blasphemous it is to think of a mortal as divine are washed away by the giddiness he feels.

“Mine,” Dream reaffirms, and the smile on Wilbur’s face grows stronger.

(Wilbur’s eyes shine with the glow of something sinister, a darker emotion usually bubbling under the surface, and, as Dream feels old habits clawing at the back of his mind, he wonders if he’s just doomed them both).

cc!leo and the way love and distrust go hand in hand for him. how he guards his own heart in an attempt to protect the person he cares about the most and that's his own undoing-- how that's both of their undoing. how he sees trust on donnie's end as too much, something he doesn't deserve and something he took for granted. how out of everything that's the one thing he will never ask for, and he's so quick to withhold information to protect donnie's heart in turn (hell, he does it to raph too, and by taking leadership he's quicker to hold up the weight on his own instead of sharing it).

and how this contrasts with how leo before this point spent his whole life begging for the trust of others, for his family to just believe in him for once. and now he fails to see the independence he's developed as a sign that his trust in other people, and in donnie, has been broken, and because of that he doesn't realize that it hurts them until he has to confront it violently head-on. (he doesn't even realize that in a lot of ways its the other side of the coin from how he was under the curse)

In my sort of weird AU headcanon thing, by the time Timmy‘s egg has cracked. She’s already dated and broken up with Remy, at least five times within their early to mid teen years. so by the time they’re in their late years (Which is when she fully embraces he/she pronouns) Timmy’s kinda over him

Remy’s mo to to get back into Timmy‘s good graces, is and has always been giftgiving and love bombing and finding out about his Timantha persona I think just opens a whole new possibility for the types of gifts he bombard her with

Maybe I'll say something longer later but I love sinco because I LOVE when characters get divorced and don't get back with their ex. I love when people in stories change to the point that they can't go back to the way things used to be. I love when characters can't love their ex like they used to. They don't fit anymore, they've changed too much.

I don't care if the change was good or bad, I care that it happened. I want to see a couple that's rooted in the present and build a future for themselves together. If they make eachother worse? Sure, whatever, just keep going and don't stop til someone dies.

glad you asked!! i love drow knight yuri their relationship is soooo complex to me because you'd thiiink they would get along with them being lolth drow paladins and all but i don't really think they would. or it's more like it's a bit complicated - in surface level i think they would see eye to eye but in regards to more personal situations, that's when they would start to clash. i don't think they'd be able to get close too - or as close as shri'iia gets with the other companions because of the difference in their natures and of their own oaths which is so fundamental to both of them since they're both paladins.

like one of the glaring difference between them is how they both reacted with being forsaken by lolth. minthara sought for revenge since she's a vengeance paladin, and post game she's making her own army to challenge the spider queen again whereas shri'iia shed all that behind her and went to a new path instead. she's not revenge oriented and she doesn't seek power either, she's more concerned with pursuing her own freedom and keeping that freedom, and making sure she's not bound to anyone anymore. she never held a grudge against lolth too and that's such a big difference! especially in the context of lolth drows because power is what they covet! and minthara is born in power - she's from house baenre after all - she knew what power is like and she wielded it well. meanwhile shri'iia was born with nothing, and she had to give away so much of herself to taste a fraction of what minthara had at birth. she only seeks power because that's what she thinks you need to do meanwhile minthara actually wants it. and when they meet, shri'iia is well on her journey in being an oathbreaker and she's pursuing things she actually wants rather than things she thinks she should want (since she aspired to be the lolth drow ideal) so that's a difference between them too. minthara would want control over the absolute cult as revenge for what happened to her but shri'iia is looking for a way to free herself (and others) from them.

and another thing is that they're both born and raised in such a structured, hierarchical society and i think that would seep into how they interact with each other as well. minthara is very used to looking down on others and being treated highly because she was born into nobility, and shri'iia is very used to treating others with a higher regard and lowering herself as well because she was born in the lower class (like she's just above the slaves and non-drows btw and that's only because she's born a drow). and it's interesting because that ^ dynamic gets flipped since shri'iia is now seen as the leader and minthara as a follower, but i think they would slip back into old habits and old roles where minthara would look down on her because she would be able to tell that shri'iia is not nobility, and shri'iia would be cowering around her because that's how she used to be before.

i also don't think minthara would think highly of what shri'iia has done when she swore her fealty to the matriarch of faen tlabbar. the potential that minthara personally knows who that matriarch is aside, the whole thing where shri'iia swore fealty to that woman in exchange to be part of her house it's giving very social climbing. not classy 👎 kind of tacky 👎 and she would think shri'iia a fool for believing lolth and that matriarch so fiercely bc ofc she knows well that these are all lies - but shri'iia never had that luxury or space in the matter to consider other alternatives. she never had the privilege to think otherwise when her days were spent surviving than actually living.

all in all, complicated relationship to me!! but surface level - they're both pretty terrible LMFAO and they'd get along well in that regard. not to mention i really do like the idea that they would speak drowic with each other, and minthara would be one of the people who helps her to speak better in common - or correct her at least since she's still very much learning the language. and as much as me ^ typing that out i think there would be spaces where they would find solidarity within each other as well just because they're just two women who have left their own homes behind, and they both know what it's like to fiercely believe in their own causes. so i could see them being in situations where they would understand what the other is doing but they would also not agree with it because of the clash in their own beliefs.
