Thinking about being enlisted to refresh Jake’s frosted tips. Well, when you met, they looked like frosted tips, but he had to explain to you that he actually just bleached his entire head to blonde and let it grow out, but you kinda like the two-tone hair, so he lets you give it a whirl with one of those terrible highlight caps. It’s fun and a blast for the two of you, but if it turns out all lopsided and wonky, he’s just gonna give you a brush and the bleach to go full blonde again. It’ll grow out in no time.
“Should I get some toner?” you fret, glancing at his reflection in the mirror where he’s already looking back at you with a calm, amused smile on his face.
“Baby,” he starts, his voice gentle and sweet, “it’s fine, yeah? It’s just hair. Weren’t we having fun before?”
You frown and run your fingers through his now brassy, blond hair. “Yeah,” you admit reluctantly. “But I did a terrible job! If I go get toner it’ll make it less yellow.”
He shift on the stool where he’s sitting, reaching around you to pull you closer, his other hand smoothing up the side of your waist. “It could’ve turned pink and I wouldn’t have cared. I just enjoyed the time we spent doing this together.”
Your pout smooths out a bit. “Pink,” you echo quietly, imagining it as you continue playing with his hair.
“Uh oh,” he teases. “Have I given you an idea?”
“Maybe,” you reply, dragging it out playfully, giggling when he starts to tickle you.
He doesn’t let you dye it pink (this time), but you do get toner and purple shampoo, which helps tremendously. He makes sure to ooh and ahh over it after it’s been washed and dried, posing dramatically and making silly faces just to see you smile.

what is the theory that ivan manipulated the event where till and mizi met the wagyein?
It's not a theory, actually! It's confirmed that Ivan orchestrated the whole event. The true reason as to why however is still unknown. The information provides more context to this scene, though:
During the earlier times of ALNST the most rational explanation for this scene was that Till ran after a flower crown (presumably Mizi's) and Ivan followed him in out of curiosity. Now we know that Ivan was conveniently just standing there because he was waiting.
Side note, I find it heartbreaking (and maybe a little funny, sorry) that Till most likely didn't notice Ivan in this scene. That's just like him, isn't it. Always too busy running after Mizi while Ivan trails behind, an ever-present shadow.
I'm not sure how Ivan manipulated the circumstances for both of them to end up there, but it is confirmed that everything was intentional. What strikes me most is how they describe this particular scene:
I can't copy down what they said word-for-word (Patreon info), but they described Ivan watching "creepily" as Till and Mizi are faced with danger. We know that Ivan was familiar with the Cerberus wagyein beforehand, enough to touch its teeth and even to rest himself inside its maw. To Ivan, the wagyein is not dangerous, but to Till and Mizi, it could be. Ivan prepared the wagyein, led them there, and watched "creepily" from afar as Till fell on his knees, seemingly injured.
The closest I can get to making sense of Ivan's "scheme" is that he wanted to see how other children would react in a dangerous situation. Ivan's always been an observer, after all, and he's learned to survive by copying the more "normal" behaviors of his peers. This situation occured when Ivan was still young and had not yet developed his more charming mask, so perhaps he staged this encounter to study a situational response, to learn and mimic the emotion of fear. And what better subjects for the experiment than two of the most expressive and reactive humans of their batch? It helps that he was already fixated on Till beforehand, too. I think Ivan became irreversibly obssessed after this incident, especially since it's framed as a turning point in Ivan's life, comparing Till to the stars.
This is just my attempt at an interpretation, though. It could very well be for another reason. He most likely chose Till and Mizi specifically for personal reasons, not just for reaction. I'm still not sure on the purpose behind the whole thing.
The team wanted to capture Ivan's "dark emotions" through the shot of his stalking, which could relate to his more sinister intentions. His gaze can be read in a few different ways, though. Curiosity, interest, fear, etc. Maybe that's why they decided to redraw the shot in ROUND 6.
I think this better sells the feeling they were trying to convey.

Saw a post years ago that pointed out that all the black characters they saw that were represented without racist caricatures were done with white hair (with few exceptions)
And they went on to say that there are too many brown/brown/otherwise POC characters like that (especially women) like Kida from Atlantis
And since reading that, every time I see a fire, badass, beautiful POC characters with white hair, all I can think about is that post
Like Kalim Al Asim from TWST or Kida from Atlantis, Storm from X-Men and Mirko from BNHA. Hell, even Asra from Arcana or Ekko from Arcane/League of Legends
And there are countless more that I've seen done in a similar fashion, too
All of these characters are awesome, beautiful, badass representations that are extremely well done!
But they're all done with white hair. It makes me, as a white person, wonder if artists do this simply because the white balances out beautifully against brown skin
Or the more likely answer, where perhaps they do it as a way to make them 'desirable' brown characters. It feels odd and off (even though I love seeing BIPOC with all sorts of cool hair colours, it's the way it's done that makes me feel strange about it bc it happens so often)
Like,,, let them have darker skin AND darker hair.
Hell, let black characters have darker hair, darker skin, AND ETHNIC HAIR. Give them locs, or braids, or actual coils, or textured hair of any kind. Give them bantu knots, twists, etc.
You can draw all these crazy clothes and spiky hairstyles, but not ethnic hair?
Bullshit.

I would like to know, too, if my feeling uncomfy with the stereotype portrayed is just me not having any BIPOC experience to personally draw off of or if it's something others feel and notice too.)
