My anxiety is so bad recently and I feel like it's partly due to the whole inauguration bs. But also all the mention of 2025 literally feels like I'm having to make my already small social circle smaller and I just feel so isolated and depressed bc no matter where i go everyone is always talking about it.

hey btw if you're in the USA at  2:20 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Oct. 4, they're testing the emergency broadcast system. your phone is probably going to make a really loud noise, even if it's on silent. there's a backup date on the 11th if they need to postpone it.

if you're not in a safe situation and have an extra phone, you should turn that phone completely off beforehand.

additionally, if you're like me, and are easily startled; i recommend treating it like a party. have a countdown or something. be surrounded by your loved ones. take the actions you personally need to take to make yourself safe.

i have already seen mockery towards any person who feels nervous about this. for the record, it completely, completely valid to have "emergency broadcast sounds" be an anxiety trigger. do not let other people make fun of you for that. emergency sounds are legitimately engineered to make us take action; those of us with high levels of anxiety and/or neurodivergence are already pre-disposed to have a Bad Time. sometimes it is best to acknowledge that the situation will be triggering for some, and to prepare for that; rather than just saying "well that's stupid, it's just a test."

"loud scary sound time" isn't like, my favorite thing, but we can at least try to prevent some additional anxiety by preparing for it. maybe get yourself a cake? noise cancelling headphones? the new hozier album? whatever helps. love u, hope you're okay. we are gonna ride it out together.

Artyom starts laughing and hitting the floor, Nikita joins him for a short moment. Artyom (talking about the news anchor's face): What a fucking mug! Fucking awful. (but more rude than that) Nikita (voicing the woman, in a stupid voice): HELLO, I'M A SILLY WOMAN. (Artyom chuckles) I have... (the scene changes to show some people) Oh, fuck (OR he says "Buryat", hard to tell), fuck off. (Nikita makes random sounds and growls, Artyom laughs) Nikita (reading the text in the bottom right corner, in a stupid voice): "Mongolia?" Fuck it, they'll be Buryats (a Mongolic ethnic group native to southeastern Siberia) anyway. (Artyom chuckles) AAAAAAAAHH! (Artyom laughs) Nikita starts speaking ("I- *something else*"), but Artyom interrupts him, voicing the man on the screen himself: I'm a Buryat, but I live here because I like communicating with Irkutsk people, they are all so kind, but they all beat me the fuck up. (Artyom tchk's with his tongue) Yeah. I also suck skins (skinheads) off. (Artyom takes a deep breath and makes random sounds, presumably trying to imitate the Buryat language)

I love libraries.

I'm browsing the WWI shelves (as you do) and notice a very old book about the war. I glance at the first pages that talk about how one day the war will be over and we'll look at this place and not see any signs of the battlefield.

Then it hits me. And I check the publishing date.

This book was printed before the war's end. Not written. Printed. The physical object was created in 1918, while the war in question was raging and the end was as yet uncertain.

Now I'm standing on the other side of the apocalypse, with this physical link to that era in my hands. I'm living proof that the war did end and life did go on and we can all look at the end of the world as a long-ago memory.

Reading old books is cool enough, connecting our minds and hearts through the ideas of people who lived long ago, but there's something extra profound about holding a copy of the book that comes from the time that it was written. It's a physical link between the past and the present connecting me to those long-ago people. A piece of the past come into the future that gives me the chance to almost take the hand of some long-ago reader, to hold something they could have held, connecting not just mentally but physically to their era, a moment of connection across more than a century.

But fun fact: Xenomorphs have always been my number one favourite aliens what comes to design :3

Even from when i was younger i was obsessed with drawing them but wasn't so good at it but man sketching and drawing Xeno after a long time felt really good and fun :DD i even played Alien isolation and Alien vs predator games and i highly recomend both ! :3

I also had this fun silly thought when i was drawing like- why is it always humans that get into shit with deadly aliens😭 wether it's transformers or xenomorphs it's always Earth and humans getting the "shortest stick" and i think it's pretty funny :P

Imagine like a Xenomorph somehow gets into the Lost Light, the poor bots catch it and lock it up because it's very aggresive so they call over their human liaison to come and take a look if they can indentify it by any chance and as soon as they see it they just jump back in fear and scream like "WOAH !!" to get rid of that thing, kill it or anything and not let it go anywhere near them and the bots are just confused like what why?? And then they proceed to show the bots all the movies and feel sorry and very disturbed for the human liaison😭

otp throuple, but it's 3 bisexuals and the lesbian who had compet at first. the lesbian previously dated one of the bisexuals cause of trauma bonding or something. he also previously dated the other lady bisexual. and then the other bisexual guy was dating the bisexual lady. and then they broke up too. and the lesbian started dating the lady bisexual. so all the guy bisexuals are now the lady bisexuals exes. and then the bisexual guys get together, before the throuple eventually formed one bisexual at a time. while the lady bisexual is also dating the lesbian too, who is now trauma bound besties with her ex bisexual boyfriend.
