I know the use of the word of "child" towards Lace might seem scary, but you need to remember: it is said during a pre-fight banter, which changes the context - it could very much simply be Hornet's way to insult Lace and call her skills and actions childish.
Not to mention that, iirc, someone from TC DID joke about the sesbian lex scene, which means that they are at least aware of it. I doubt they would pull the rug under the fans after that like this. I am not saying that they are going to make this ship canon, and I'm okay if they don't, but I doubt that they would make Lace a child, not to mention that it's simply not fitting with how she looks and the bits of lore we got of her. Can you imagine a child being a full-blown FENCER?
