Haleth's doesn't particularly enjoy cooking, but she occasionally cooks when she's in the mood. She's not the best at it but she does have a few recipes that she's really good at (doesn't burn)

Dumplings/momo's are her favorites to make. She can make decent flatbreads and basic curries.

She likes chikhvi (made with stir deep-fried bamboo shoots and sliced pork), Gyathuk (noodle soup with meat and veggies) Also likes a lot of sea food dishes, since she's from an island, like fried squid, sweet and sour fish curries.

She prefers baking over cooking though and likes making sweets like Jalebi and Kaju katli (Cashews, ghee with cardamom and sugar)

I've just done O, so on to B:

B: Any of your stories inspired by personal experience?

There is a bit of me in basically every fic I've ever written. A very long time ago I wrote a couple of fics which included shag-nanigans I had personally gotten up to and I shan't say which fics (they're not on AO3 at this stage lol). Harry’s hoarding and feelings of guilt and paralysis about it are all me in A Young Wizard, In Love. An upcoming Dronarry occurs partly on an island resort that I visited for my 30th birthday.

Pissing for England - Ron is my brother. The argument about why Ron pisses so noisily was inspired by a real conversation at the breakfast table one Christmas when my uncle was visiting and we all had to hear the racket as my brother took the noisiest piss in the universe.

“Look, I know it's annoying, but he’s not doing it to annoy you. He just doesn’t go before bed, so when he wakes up, it’s a big job. And he’s really tall, so, you know,” Harry gestured vaguely at his own crotch. “It’s coming from a much greater height.”

“A considerate person would piss against the porcelain, not directly down into the water like a fucking animal.”

“I know,” Harry said, “I hear you.”

“It’s like a hose, Potter.”

“Yes, I know! He’s not good at controlling the force, either!”

I wrote my famous pasta salad into Poppiholla, as well as the card game 500 which my family has played obsessively all my life. I just made that pasta salad for lunch today as it happens, pic and steps under the cut.

If anyone’s interested, its just some boiled pasta, I usually like spirals but mum had shells so we went with that. Then for the dressing, some good whole egg mayo mixed with wholegrain mustard, a dash of dijon mustard and some curry powder. And then finely diced red capsicum (bell pepper for you heathens), spring onions (aka scallions) and some pan-fried bacon that’s been diced. When your pasta’s been drained, you want to get it in your serving dish right away and stir a quick spoonful or two of plain mayo around in the noodles while they’re still warm to stop them from cooling into a big clump. Then when you’ve mixed up the dressing, stir it through, then chuck the bacon and veggies in and stir them through too. You can eat it right away or serve it chilled! We had it with baby quiche today, yummmm. Mum has been known to add celery, toasted pine nuts, we’ve replaced the scallions with red onions, the red pepper with yellow or green - whatever you like.

Recipes I've enjoyed recently.

For the benefit of @moderndaybard, myself, and anyone else who's interested. A lot of these are vegetarian or vegan even though I'm not, so I've marked those!

Open invitation for anyone who would like to add their own recipes! I'm always excited to try different dishes. 💜

1. Quick Pickle Onions [vegan]

I fully intend to keep these onions stocked in my fridge for the foreseeable future.

2. Coconut Crusted Tofu with Sweet Chili Sauce [vegan]

The pictured zucchini is not included in the recipe but I definitely recommend it! I sautéed mine in a pan using the marinade from the tofu.

3. General Tso's Tofu [vegan]

Following the recipe notes, I replaced the beer with water and left out the aji-no-moto (MSG).

4. Gua Bao (Taiwanese Pork Belly Bun)

Tried this at a restaurant and wanted to try making it myself! Very tender and tasty, but not something I'll make often between the time involved and the difficulty in finding pork belly at my normal grocery stores.

5. Vegetarian Ramen [vegetarian, easily vegan adaptable]

This broth is so rich! I love a good ramen broth so much! I wasn't able to grind my sesame seeds because I don't have a mortar and pestle, but that mostly just affected the texture not the taste. I also had to sub out a couple ingredients I didn't have (doubanjiang and sake) but I got pretty close to the intended result! I haven't tried the spicy bean sprouts yet (tho I want to) but the kimchi and corn really add a lot imo.

6. Korean Spicy Cucumber Salad [vegan]

I love this but fair warning I end up with a strong garlic aftertaste for a while!

7. Coconut Curry Noodle Soup

I increased the amount of curry paste to my own taste.

8. Vegan Curry Ramen Noodles [vegan]

I don't think I have anything to add to this one? Fresh jalapeños not being spicy threw me for a loop.

9. Portabella Burger [vegetarian]

I didn't use the hummus so I can't speak to that but the rest of this was very good! For my greens I got a bagged spring mix and used the extra for salads. I also believe I added mayonnaise.

10. Fish Tacos

I love the sauce on this one! I didn't bother buying a whole head of purple cabbage because I didn't have any other recipes to use the rest. Personally I just bought a bag salad and picked out the purple cabbage, that way there was no waste.

b - breakfast: do you have any specific breakfast rituals? how about favorite foods?

ai likes cooking, so he likes to cook for us !!! he usually wakes up the earliest out of us, and he’ll wake up otoya and i if we aren’t already up. their schedules can be demanding due to idol work, but we do try to eat breakfast together if we can :) ai generally likes lighter foods, otoya will eat pretty much anything but he especially likes curry, and as ive said before i rlly like sweets and noodles :D

e - early: are you early or late to events? why?

we generally tend to be pretty early. otoya would be the latest of us- he has difficulty with time management (adhd moment). i do as well, but im also very afraid of being late to things JDBSKBF and also bad time perception in general so i tend to get to things early. ai is also early but for a contrary reason, he is really good at planning and managing his time. he is a lifesaver for otoya and i KDBSKFNS

o - oser: how adventurous are yall? do you try new things or stick to what you know?

i am not very adventurous, but ai and otoya are. otoya is always looking to do new things and have fun, and ai is very curious and wants to know a lot. bc of anxiety i tend to stick to what i know, but these two do help me to get out of my comfort zone more- they would never pressure me though

r - reassure: how do you comfort them when theyre upset? how do they comfort you?

both of them are pretty hard to upset- otoya is very much an optimist, trying his best to stay positive, and ai is still navigating and figuring out emotions. but, when im really close with someone, i tend to get pretty good at reading them, so i can usually tell when theyre upset about something. ill offer my support and let them know i care about and love them, and am there for them. i also like to do things for them :) as i said in my last ask, i like affection and affirmative words when im upset. otoya also likes affection when he’s upset in the case he isnt pushing everyone away dbfngngng baby no so it works out well. and ai is good with words, and after getting to know me and getting used to me, he becomes exceptional at comforting me.
