Weird how often this fandom uses teacher Steve (especially like, kindergarten teacher Steve when tbh I think he'd be better as a middle school teacher) in place of him having children when??? So many teachers? Have children? Every teacher in my family but one has kids? Idk why people use it as a substitute like so many teachers don't end up wanting and having children.

I need you to understand that the very straight and immediate line from someone's very confident "I don't like mice/I've handled mice before so I know what they're like" to joyous wonder as they hold the first calm, friendly mouse they've ever held and murmur "they're so soft/sweet/warm/gentle" practically to themselves is basically a drug

"I work at a petstore," says the young man with much disdain, "so I don't really need to hold another one. I know what they're like."

"These aren't petstore mice," I say, as I turn my hand over and the mouse holds on tighter. "They're not like any mouse you've ever held," I say, as I close my hand gently around the mouse and flip her onto her back for a second so I can touch her mouth and demonstrate how difficult it would be to get one of my mice to bite.

"I'm sure you've handled them extensively from a very young age, though."

"They haven't been handled before today, except to be moved into clean cages." She arranges herself in my hand and cleans her face. "Are you sure you don't want to hold one?"

He opens his hands, and she pours from my hand into his like a viscous liquid. She is soft and warm and sweet, and his entire face lights up when she hunkers down onto his warm hand and closes her eyes.

"....She's changing my mind."

"They tend to do that when you leave it open."

He took her and two companions home.

Since book 7 part 5 (the part where we meet Meleanor/Maleanor 👀) is coming to EN this month, i would love to see your take on lilia’s proposal to meleanor! i mean they were like little kids right? it couldn’t have been that serious…i think the only reason she even brought it up again is because she could tell lilia still genuinely loved her…(even if he didn’t realize it himself?) but, oh well! May I ask what were the best transformers media you ever saw/read?

Well Transformers Prime, Transformers 1986 and IDW comics are having the first place that’s for sure

And then the second place is kind of shared by Fall of Cybertron, Exodus, Prime wars trilogy, Robots in disguise(2001) and Transformers One.

The third place goes to G1, Animated, Earthspark, Armada, War for Cybertron Netflix series, Aligned Robots in disguise, Bumblebee, Rise of the Beasts and Cyberverse because I only liked some little parts of them.

And then I also saw some of the Bay movies, Victory and Headmasters and didn’t like them at all.

Separate first place for J-Decker. It is not exactly Transformers but it is a show about giant robots and I loved it

#call me weird for placing cheap ugly shows above Earthspark and Animated #but the thing is #I have when the whole narrative revolves around human kids #*hate #I’m allergic to them #Prime wars trilogy had one of the worst face rigs I ever saw #but it also had Overlord teaming up with evil Rodimus and Megatron being funniest mf alive #Armada is straight up infuriating imma be honest #Armada is like #Au where all the weapons work only once and then just create some glitter #I actually have SO many thoughts on Armada. like. as a writer #the way they keep reusing the same plot 3000 times is borderline impressive #OH War for Cybertron from Netflix was such an experience!#It was so painfully boring and stupid sometimes #but the other times. ooooouuufff. The scene where some nameless decepticon gives Megatron a little tour to show him how him and his friends #-work so hard for the cause??? THAT SHIT HIT HARD #….also I pretty much only like the Quintesson apocalypse arc from the entire Cyberverse #Transformers Victory is fun until you actually hear them speaking #the concept of Star Saber adopting a human child and raising him and then #going to human school as his legal guardian being like ‘yeah sure I can sign all your tiny ass documents’#it’s hilarious but unfortunately all the writers of that anime were snorting cocaine because WHY all the characters talk like that #Animated was fun for me only near the end. Idk what to say. I’m not a fan of any drama centered around humans #things got interesting when Cybertronian government got involved #Earthspark is WHOLE giant topic ahahah. I liked Twitch. sometimes. I also liked Grimlock while he had voice lines. Prowl was fun.#everything else needs and essay haha I don’t wanna annoy anyone #OH I also watching Tf Cybertron right now and this shit is UGLY. they have NO RIGS. yes, yes, boba fett finds it strange and uncomfortable when people can see his face and this is one of the major reasons he almost never removes his helmet (in the expanded universe anyway), but another factor that i think isn't explored nearly enough is just how much his helmet shapes how he sees the world. it grants him 360° vision, lets him interface with his weapon systems and slave I, and automatically dampens loud noises and dims bright lights. imagine going through the vast majority of your life seeing the world through that lens and then suddenly taking it away. removing his helmet for any significant length of time likely isn't just uncomfortable for him but downright disorienting.

HC they first met a year or two after Yelan got her vision; post fighting the in abyss but when Kaeya was still navigating his identity from Kaeya, Brother and Right hand of Diluc Ragnvindr to Kaeya Alberich, Cavalry Captain and Quarter master of the Knights of Favonius.

#We know Kaeya's a bit of a sadist and does leave his men in the dark most of the time #Back when he he'd been newly appointed i feel he'd be quite reckless as to how much 'pushing' his knights could handle on missions #used to working from diluc's shadow rather than being the one to direct commands #And Yelan after her experience in the Abyss chooses to work alone and secrectively so that the lives of her comrades won't be in danger #She sees that Kaeya operates very much like her but he does not have the luxury to work as 'freely' as she does when it comes to official #missions for there are still people working under him #(ofc both of them do whatever they want when it comes to going of abyss side quests)#There's no way she doesn't feel some sort of kinship they're really similar in many aspects #she does not want to see a repeat of her certain mistakes #Yelan is also questioning how the actual fuck do the knights operate because why is a 16yr old beefing with her to get to a mafia boss firs #They come to 'good terms' as time passes where they have mutual respect for each other #both of them try their best to outwit each other form time to time of course #Kaeya being petty(er) and Yelan being 'i need to set this guy straight'#But back then after seeing Kaeya work missions for the first time Yelan's thinking that this kid is too smart for his good #additional hcs for Back In That Day #Yelan: -still hasn't gotten her signature bob. -often uses a crutch because Abyss did a number on her and her pre existing chronic illness #Kaeya- has a fuckass mullet #yeah.. my apolocheese for the ramble #genshin impact #genshin impact fanart #kaeya #kaeya alberich #yelan #yelan genshin impact #kms mention

The Bats protect Gotham, but who protects the Bats?

The first time it happened, it was a mother at the end of her rope and there was nothing Batman could do to stop it.

Even if he broke every bone in his arm to escape, he would still have to wait for backup before being able to clear the kids. He could throw every protocol to the wind and it still wouldn’t have been enough. He told her how much time it would take for reinforcements, how long they had to hold out for. That was his mistake.

Because when their captors came back early he made himself their target. He fought, spit, said anything that would rile them. And it wasn’t enough. Because she put her hand on his arm and said, “protect my children,” before telling the men she would come willingly if they left The Bat alone.

They both knew that she was buying him time with her own life.

From there it happened rarely, but it never stopped happening. Random civilians would realize that it was either letting Batman die for them, or to die in his stead.

And the worst thing about Gotham was that the people knew how much they needed the vigilantes. How for every one person that died there were another 20, 50, 200 people who managed to be saved. Live long lives, or as long as any life ever got to be.

So for as willing as Batman is to die protecting people, those same people are willing to die for him if it will mean protecting their loved ones.

It wasn’t a burden Bruce had ever prepared to bear. And the first time a civilian stepped in front of one of his children, took a bullet in the neck that would have been a headshot, the relief almost ate him alive. The guilt certainly threatened to.

It was never a weight he wanted his children to carry.
