I know we get a lot of Catlad!Jason or Stray!Tim au’s, but just this once can we get a Stray!Bernard au? A Bernard who was caught trying to steal something big in a spiteful teenage phase of rebellion and getting caught by Catwoman of all people, who immediately snatches him and makes him her apprentice- because if the bat can have protégés so can she. And a just freshly made Robin Tim having to chase around that annoying cat who happens to be his civilian best friend (not that either of them realize it) And just - Bernard is just a silly cat having his bat chase him around rooftops in an excruciating slow burn romance that takes both miscommunication and civilian life drama to make it to endgame.

"No, no, Kitten," she'd whispered, snagging the small boy by the back of a ragged collar when he'd started creeping forward out of the shadows in Crime Alley with a gleam of purpose in his eyes.

He'd kicked her, startlingly strong and determinedly violent for such a scrawny package. She'd kept a hand on him, blocking and twisting until she'd managed one quick smack to his forehead, startling him to blink up at her in absolute betrayal.

"Did you just fuckin' flick me, lady?" he'd kept the question hissed and subvocal, aware even in his blatant shock that they needed to stay silent this close to the Bat.

"I would spray you but I left my bottle at home, Kitten," she'd replied in the same low tone, holding his eyes as she kept an ear out for the feel of where Batman would loom from a shadow. "You do not want to steal-"

His freckled face had screwed up as he took a deep breath to argue and she had pressed one sharp tipped claw to hush him.

but in my fem jason adopted by selina au, julie (jay) is called *alley cat* (before growing up and shit hitting the fan) bc ofc, and i don't think i ever saw that and i think that's unfortunate

That was all Robin heard before he was suddenly hauled up with gloved hands from his vantage point on the top of the warehouse across the one over that he was watching. He hadn’t even heard Stray approach him, which seemed impossible cause the cat burglar was clearly in some kind of rush and now that Robin was aware of him, making quite a ruckus.

“What the hell are you-“

“Shh! This is gonna be hard enough without your questions and your banter.” The cat hissed, ripping off his cape with fluid ease and forcing Robin into a black leather jacket. Where had that come from? “Well! Zip it up! And put these one, honestly, you are wearing panties.” Stray huffed, throwing a pair of leather pants in the vigilante’s face before scouting around the door that lead down into the warehouse.

 Jason was just trying to keep to his mission, case out this warehouse near the docks, see if anything was going on there to confirm the whispers, but no, stupid Stray just had to crash his patrol and make a huge mess of things. He didn't sign up for this, he was Robin Boy Wonder, not cat boy's little helper.
