I need Ruby to sit down with Carla and tell her how absolutely terrified she is that her mother will abandon her. Because babygirl has trauma and her adventures are making it worse.

Key Witnesses, Investigators, and Related Individuals Who Died After the Shooting
April 29, 1999
Robert Patterson, a 19-year-old man with a prior incarceration history, was found deceased by suicide at his home in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. His mother informed investigators that she believed he took his life due to fears of returning to jail. (10k, p.21470)
Unknown, May 1999
Antuane Johnson, a close friend of the Shoels family, was shot and killed in a parking lot weeks after the massacre. The case remains unsolved, and it is suggested that Johnson was assisting the Shoels family in their inquiries about the massacre and may have "known too much."
July 4, 1999
Vicki Buckley, Colorado's Secretary of State, collapsed and died at the age of 51. She had a close relationship with the Shoels family and was involved in their quest for the truth regarding the Columbine tragedy.
July 4, 1999
A Jefferson County sheriff shot and killed an unidentified man in Clement Park, adjacent to Columbine High School. The identity of the deceased was never released by officials.
July 10, 1999
Corey Hager, a key witness, died in a car accident at the age of 15. His sister reported to investigators that he was at home having lunch, despite eyewitness accounts placing him with deceased victim Steven Curnow in the cafeteria prior to the shooting. Hager was never interviewed regarding the incident.
May 6, 1999
Sean Brenner, a student from a nearby school, committed suicide. A week following the Columbine shooting, he allegedly confided in a friend about feeling guilty for not reporting a rumor he had heard regarding the attack. (10k, p.24945)
May 8, 1999
Dana Plato, an actress, reportedly died from a prescription drug overdose in Oklahoma, with some speculating that it was murder. Plato had been residing with Rachel Scott's family before her untimely death.
July 10, 1999
Corey Hager, who witnessed the events in the Columbine cafeteria, died in a car accident in his hometown of North Dakota. When investigators attempted to contact him, his sister informed them that he had recently passed away.
October 22, 1999
Carla June Hochhalter, mother of wounded student Ann Marie Hochhalter, allegedly entered an Englewood pawn shop with ammunition, requested to see a firearm, and subsequently shot herself in the head before discharging the weapon into a wall. Despite the presence of witnesses, no one reported seeing the incident. Documentation related to this occurrence has been unobtainable, and her "suicide note" has not been disclosed; she is also not listed in the Social Security Death Index.
February 14, 2000
Around midnight, Nicholas Kunselman, 16, and Stephanie Hart, 17, students and sweethearts, were shot to death at a Subway sandwich shop located two blocks south of Columbine High School. Kunselman was working a closing shift, and Hart had come to give him a ride home.
An employee passing by around 1:30 a.m. discovered their bodies after noticing the lights on inside the shop. Initial reports indicated that the windows had been shot out; however, video evidence contradicted this, showing no bullet holes. The media characterized the incident as a robbery, yet no money was taken from the register, and the security cameras were conveniently off.
Deceased victim Rachel Scott previously worked at that Subway location, and a member of the Scott family (Beth Nimmo) shared a backyard with Hart and her mother, Kelly Grizzell. Hart had once baked a purple cake shaped like a bucket hat for Scott.
Courtney Scott, an 18-year-old cousin of Stephanie, reportedly discovered the bodies. She visited the makeshift memorial in the parking lot. It remains unclear whether Stephanie is related to Rachel Scott's family or simply shares the same last name.
May 4, 2000
Greg Barnes, a basketball star at Columbine, committed suicide in his home by hanging himself while playing "Adam's Song" on repeat. Barnes was one of the students who helped keep Dave Sanders alive during the incident. His struggles with depression were unknown to those around him.
Unknown, 2001
According to the documentary Columbine - What Went Wrong, produced by Phyllis Schlafly, former Columbine student Ben Kuhn died by hanging. Kuhn was a sophomore in 2001 but is not listed in the Social Security Death Index, with records indicating he lived in Colorado and owned property as of 2024.
January 27, 2002
James Springer, Robert Zajac, and Erin Gollas were shot and killed in an AMF bowling alley in Littleton. Eyewitnesses reported seeing an individual wearing a black trench coat leave the area.
December 2, 2002
Key witness Theresa Miller (Theresa Laura) succumbed to cancer at the age of 44. Miller was present with Dave Sanders during the incident and extinguished a fire in the adjacent science office after a Molotov cocktail detonated.
January 27, 2003
Jonathan Ladd, a witness who reported a bomb threat called into the school that morning, died in a mid-air plane crash in Denver. SWAT teams immediately secured the crash site, restricting access to the wreckage.
August 28, 2005
Tiffany Lien, an outside witness and freshman, was shot to death along with her friend by her husband.
On the day of the attack, Lien was having lunch with a friend outside the school cafeteria on April 20, 1999, when they heard shots and witnessed two individuals being shot. They fled to a bathroom and heard a shooter yelling, "I hate you," before managing to escape to safety.
September 10, 2006
Tim Roche, a reporter for TIME Magazine, died from multiple strokes at the age of 38. Roche was the only journalist permitted to view the Basement Tapes.
September 13, 2007
Joe Stair, founder of the Trench Coat Mafia, hanged himself with an extension cord in his grandfather's garage. His funeral coincided with the dedication of a newly built memorial.
September 25, 2007
Charles Luke Milam, a member of the Columbine class of 1999, died in combat in Afghanistan. On the day of the shooting, Milam left the school to eat lunch at home around 11:00 a.m. and was denied re-entry around noon.
June 17, 2007
Sergeant Bill Black, commander of the Littleton SWAT team, died of cancer at the age of 58. He was on duty during the Columbine shooting on April 20, 1999. Black is not listed in the Social Security Death Index.
November 16, 2008
Former Jefferson County Sheriff Russ Cook was found dead in his home from unknown causes at age 59. Media reports indicated he struggled with alcohol addiction, which may have contributed to his death. Cook was elected in November 2002 and resigned in July 2003, subsequently replaced by Ted Mink.
"I still don't know what the truth is with Columbine," stated Cook before his election in 2002.
Community sources suggested that Cook was writing a tell-all book about Columbine at the time of his death and expressed suspicions of foul play.
"He scared the bejeezus out of the powers that be in Jefferson County during his short time in office. For one thing, he spoke with reporters without prior clearance from his handlers, a significant departure from the previous administration's stonewalling. He was determined to uncover the truth about the Columbine incident... He felt pressure and betrayal from those he believed would support him in difficult times. He discussed running for county commissioner and was writing a book about Jefferson County politics.
He faced court appearances and adverse reactions to prescription medications. There was likely more happening than I was aware of. Friends reported similar experiences. Russ was becoming reclusive, they said..." —Alan Prendergast
June 7, 2009
Former Jefferson County dispatcher Cindy Cline died from an unspecified short-term illness.
Cline was the shift supervisor at the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office 911 call center during the Columbine shootings, assisting in managing hundreds of calls on April 20, 1999.
Unknown, 2010
David Caravan, a former member of the Trench Coat Mafia, died from undisclosed causes, with some suggesting it was suicide.
June 15, 2013
Key witness Matt DePew was electrocuted while working on an electrical pole. He had been hiding in the cafeteria with other students and made statements that contradicted the official narrative. For instance, he claimed a suspect had said, “one’s coming in!” DePew also mentioned in a radio interview that his father, Wayne DePew, one of the first officers on the scene, had pursued the shooters and “did what he had to do,” suggesting his father may have killed them. DePew is not listed in the Social Security Death Index.
September 8, 2006
Timothy Roche, a reporter for TIME Magazine, died after suffering multiple strokes at age 38. He was the only journalist allowed to view the “Basement Tapes” and authored a significant article about them, which included numerous quotes. Following the publication, Jefferson County claimed Roche had agreed not to publish a story about the tapes, stating he was shown them solely for “background information.” Roche is not listed in the Social Security Death Index.
November 11, 2010
Former Trench Coat Mafia associate David Caravan died at age 29 from unknown causes. He was described by Columbine’s financial secretary, Ramona Madden, as "strange and intimidating."
May 18, 2019
Key witness and library survivor Stephen Austin Eubanks died of a drug overdose in his home. Eubanks was a recovery advocate, using his life story to inspire others toward sobriety, although he struggled with addiction following the traumatic loss of his best friend, Cory DePooter, during the attack. Eubanks is not listed in the Social Security Death Index.
May 1, 2001
Former Arapahoe County Sheriff Patrick Sullivan died at the age of 78. He served as Sheriff from 1984 to 2002 and was well-respected until his arrest for trading meth for sex in 2011. Sullivan was also tasked with investigating allegations that the Columbine shooters were assaulted during their January 1998 arrest. He is not listed in the Social Security Death Index.
July 22, 2006
Miceal McEwen, a former colleague of the shooters at Blackjack Pizza, committed suicide at age 23. He was reported to have had foreknowledge of the shooting, with a series of “tragic events” eventually leading to his death.
December 26, 2006
Key witness Brandi Jo Malonson went missing after leaving her parents’ house to meet with friends.
Malonson was a cafeteria witness who observed two suspects in trench coats entering the cafeteria and opening fire. She was friends with deceased victims Isaiah Shoels and Subway murder victims Nicholas Kunselman and Stephanie Hart-Grizzell.
"Brandi stated she saw a guy wearing a long black trench coat and a black ski mask inside the cafeteria. He was with another guy who was also wearing a long black trench coat. The first guy had a gun inside his coat." (11k, p.3635)
Investigators indicated that the suspects did not fire inside the cafeteria at that time, and only one shooter was still wearing a trench coat.
Malonson remains missing, and her sister, Monica (class of 1999), also died at a young age.

Swarla Kisses Rated [x]
1. "Don't get dressed." (22nd November 2024)
Tumblr media
The loud noise that occurred at the moment this kiss aired was the sound of an entire population's proverbial panties dropping. Has there ever been a hotter line spoken? This is the power-necking the soap community taught us about. Swarla started off SO strong it's frankly terrifying. 14/10 Carla knew what she wanted.
2. "Have you?" (29th November 2024)
Tumblr media
When the most confident dyke on the cobbles asks you if you've changed your mind about your feelings for her, you are required by law to stubbornly keep your hand on your hip. Even if she pushes your hair back from your face as delicately as humanly possible??? If Lisa Swain ever looked at me like that I would burst into flames. 11/10
3. "Is that better?" (16th December 2024)
Tumblr media
We reached the domesticity era of their love in 0.2 seconds flat and I for one am not upset about it. The way Carla nuzzles in? The tilt of Lisa's head? The repetition? I was not expecting more kisses so soon in their story. The only way this could've gotten better is if they'd eaten each other's faces after this had been a clearer angle. 7/10 Carla Connor saying, “I want you.” plays on loop in my head at all times.
4. "Mmm... truffley." (20th December 2024)
Tumblr media
The prolonged eye contact???? The dazed look on Lisa's face immediately after?? The fucking giggles???? The sheer power Carla Connor has and wields for good (ie. my own entertainment). Coronation Street said y'all deserve this. 10/10 Carla can hand feed me any day of the week.
5. "See you later." (20th December 2024)
Tumblr media
Have you ever seen anyone look so peaceful about a decision before? Carla Connor said, "Today's the day I kiss my girlfriend in the street." I know y'all were waiting for that Live Sally Reaction and it did not disappoint. I hope they kiss each other goodbye constantly forever. 6/10 The way she analyzed Lisa's entire face before leaning forward made me scream both internally and externally.
6. New Year's Countdown (31st December 2024)
Tumblr media
If you thought I wouldn't lose my mind over the image of them off in a corner of the pub in their own little world, you were wrong. I need to know if this was a scripting choice, an acting choice, or an editing choice for reasons. I'm never going to get sick of the way Lisa pulls Carla closer by the shoulders (almost) every time they kiss. Lisa closing her eyes like that makes my heart stop beating. 8/10
7. "Ooh, your lip!" (31st December 2024)
Tumblr media
You ever just get aggressively snogged by a woman who's falling in love with you (while your lip is busted open from fighting bad guys)? Superheroes really don't get days off but they do get the girl. I miss the power-necking (literally a month ago?!?), but this was still so cute. 9/10 for the sheer fact that Carla needed a New Year's like this considering she dies like 12 hours later.
8. "Won't take that long." (31st December 2024)
Tumblr media
Carla Connor isn't the only one who nearly fainted shortly after this kiss. Lisa said let me flutter my drunk eyelashes at you. The way Carla opened her mouth?? The breathy, "Shall we go to bed?" from Lisa??? The fucking forehead lean???? I am too goddamn gay for this to be on my screen. How did we get a month into this relationship and already reach 8 kiss scenes? 10/10 thanks Coronation Street for the gay rights.
9. "Please don't leave me here." (1st January 2025)
Tumblr media
The fact that Lisa could walk away from Carla in this moment is frankly mind-blowing; her face is the same colour as Betsy's shirt. Lisa, woman, OPEN YOUR DAMN EYES. Someone said Carla looks like she died 3 hours ago and they're not wrong. 3/10 because I'm a sucker for the domestic nature of this but also I want to punch everyone in the face for not protecting our sick baby. Gold star for the Corrie makeup department and their highlighter collection.
10. "Are we okay?" (8th January 2025)
Tumblr media
Lisa Swain's affectionate eye roll immediately after Bobby interrupted them is like 1/1000th of how we all really felt. She lingered on this kiss for so long. The hand coming up to cup Carla's head? The forehead lean again? Carla's little smile when she realized what was about to happen? Give these ladies a room that isn't in hospital or full of their children. 9/10 we're watching f/f hurt/comfort fanfiction live on ITV.
11. Comforting Hand (9th January 2025)
Tumblr media
We're deep in the trenches of this hurt/comfort storyline now, kids. I hope Lisa plans on sitting vigil at Carla's bedside for the rest of their damn lives (yes I'm wearing my clown makeup while I watch this soap). 4/10 because my self-deprecating baby pulled away from the love and support she deserves.
12. Good Luck (13th January 2025)
Tumblr media
As far as kisses go, this barely passes the test, but THEY ARE FAMILY. Carla, proper bricking it. Betsy, also bricking it. Good thing Lisa Swain swooped in to wish her wife girlfriend good luck with the most vanilla cheek peck known to man. Someone get them a room and a dialysis machine whirring to drown out all their kids, stat! 5/10 cause I respect the domesticity.
13. "We'll make it happen either way." (17th January 2025)
Tumblr media
At the precise moment that Carla Connor's head settled in against Lisa Swain's shoulder and her eyes closed and she smiled that little smile while Lisa declared them a 'we', my heart officially stopped beating and I passed away. Rating this soft head kiss an 8/10 from the grave because (whatever entity you believe is on the other side) agreed with me: that's the Connor-Swain family!
14. "I'm not scared. I'm not." (20th January 2025)
Tumblr media
Carla Connor is absolutely not scared. And she absolutely did not inch forward slightly so that Lisa could be the one to decide to hold her and make her feel safe. Absolutely none of that happened. I'm going to forever be soft about all these forehead kisses and collapsing-into-each-other hugs. Rating this a 9/10 for the utter loving, vulnerability of it all. Now, go make sweet love about it!
15. "Ugh, in my dreams." (5th February 2025)
Tumblr media
DOMESTICITY ERA IS A GO. They greet each other with kisses, y'all. We're really in it now... we've made it! Coronation Street said have all the vanilla lip pecks you desire, cause they live together. 7/10 Because all I'm really thinking about is them staying up all night in the glow of the dialysis machine making sweet love.
16. "...the best possible future I could imagine." (5th February 2025)
Tumblr media
Lisa Swain: Certified Softy said I'm gonna stick by you so hard, Carla Connor. Through sickness and in lunch break. I'm obsessed with how committed she gets to these hand and forehead kisses; how long she hovers on the moment, making eye contact, making sure Carla knows what she means. 8/10 This is what love looks like.
17. "Just introducing myself." (10th February 2025)
Tumblr media
Listen, I know y'all went feral for this show of dominance kiss (and it was really such a dyke power move), but this had literally nothing to do with Carla and everything to do with Lisa and Rob's dick-measuring contest. Carla didn't even close her eyes. Do we know if she consents to public displays of affection in front of her estranged, murdering little brother and his prison guard? Grab your pitchforks cause I'm giving this a 2/10
18. "...I want him fit enough for the transplant." (10th February 2025)
Tumblr media
Lisa really said, "I know who your brother is now, but I'm still soft for you," and we respect her for that. Even if Carla in this moment thinks she literally doesn't care. Can you hear the cogs turning in her head, Carla? Let a woman scheme. Rating this a 5/10 cause she's got a Carla-shaped space in her arms and I'm mush about it even when they're too focused on kidney transplants to kiss sloppy-style.
19. "Oh, I love you. Thank you." (12th February 2025)
Tumblr media
A barely audible "I love you"?!?!?! I nearly didn't believe it myself. But if anything warrants such a declaration, it's Lisa running Carla a bath. This whole scene was so domestic and life-partner-coded that I could implode just thinking about it. 7/10 cause there's hands and whispering and that's like gay kryptonite.
20. "You're gonna be here when I get back..." (14th February 2025)
Tumblr media
The arm grab. The reciprocal I love yous. The fact that they're STARING INTO EACH OTHER'S EYES AS THEY KISS. Listen, I am a weak woman and this kiss nearly took me out. Not that unlike how Mandy took Carla out of the hospital like 24 hours later. 8/10 cause I'm about ready to propose on their behalves.
21. "You tryna get away without a little kissy?" (12th March 2025)
Tumblr media
Carla Connor certified fucking loser when it comes to Lisa Swain. Honestly, she could've said anything and that's really what she chose. But then she yanked Lisa to her by the neck and hummed through the entire thing and I very momentarily stopped dreaming about the day they'll kiss like it's November 2024 again. 8/10

sorry i'm just thinking about the whole circumstances of the shooting again and how absolutely batshit insane that was???????? like. first they had carla observe eddie and ana and insinuate ana wasn't what eddie wanted as she told him, 'just make sure you're following your heart, not christopher's.' and had eddie's face go on a Journey. then 20 minutes later, eddie gets shot in broad daylight and it was filmed Like That with everything slowing down and going completely silent as he and buck stared at each other and buck is covered in eddie's blood and eddie is falling and buck is shoved to the ground by mehta and eddie is dying but one of the last things he does before he falls unconscious is look at buck one more time and reach out for him and then buck rOLLS UNDER A FIRETRUCK in the middle of active fire to get to him and pull him to safety and when they're in the ambulance he's telling eddie over and over again that it's okay, that he's got him, that they're so close to the hospital, he just needs to hang on, and for the .5 seconds eddie is awake he sees the blood on buck's face and ASKS IF HE'S HURT?!!?!?!?!? because he's more concerned about buck than himself????????? and then buck has to go tell chris what happened and he breaks down sobbing when he finds out eddie made it out of surgery because he cannot fathom the idea that he nearly lost him and he takes care of chris while eddie's in hospital without having to be asked and in the brief interlude where taylor kisses him and runs away buck runs to eddie instead of running after taylor and then he Tells eddie that he lost it when he told chris what happened and that it would be better if he was the one who got shot and eddie sits him down and says he changed his will A YEAR AGO after the well so that buck would be chris' legal guardian if he died because no one would ever fight for chris the way buck would (not even his biological family) and then he calls buck evan and tells him he's not expendable and ALL OF THIS HAPPENS and they never talk about it again!!!! until 6x12 where eddie says he remembers getting shot and thinking he was about to die and then nothing else until he woke up in the hospital as if the memory of the whole ordeal isn't probably seared into buck's brain and i'm just??????????? what the fuck was that guys

HC: Everyone in Crime Alley knows who Red Hood is.
They don’t know he’s Jason Todd but
-Norma Marshall knows that the young man who sporadically stays in the apartment across the hall from her, who fixed the building’s heating for free, is the Red Hood. She’s heard him coming back at all hours. She leaves him care packages with homemade chutney and Bandaids because she doesn’t have much but she knows his work is dangerous. Some loud angry men were banging on his door one day and she hid behind her door throwing eggs at them until they left.
-Brent Taylor knows that the guy who installed the security system for the youth LGBTQIA+ safe space centre is the Red Hood. He just showed up one day after they’d had their fifth vandalised window in three weeks, and set it up for nothing. Called it a civic duty. That same night, known Red Hood crew members started loitering purposefully in the area, escorting kids to the centre if they were too shy or scared to come alone.
Brent saw the guy about a month later, leaving a grocery store and ducking into an apartment building nearby. He’s pretty sure he knows where the Red Hood lives, but he’s not saying a fucking word.
-Angela Walters knows that the man who donates to the homeless shelter twice a month is the Red Hood. She knows that the Hood has a connection to the streets and his donations are always thoughtful and practical - not the generic canned corn most people throw into a box. His donations started at the same time as the anti-homeless bus shelters were dismantled by the Red Hood gang and replaced with traditional long benches.
She’s had police sniffing around asking questions before. She sent them on a wild goose chase on the other side of the city and actually got a little bit of a thrill out of it.
-Carla Moreno (street name Liza) knows that Red Hood is a guy with a hard jaw and white streak in his hair. Hood had been running off a John who’d been rough with Miley and the guy had gotten a lucky shot at the helmet with a brick. The girls pulled a dazed Hood into a nearby alley while the John ran off, and he’d taken off the broken helmet.
It was dark and he was wearing a domino mask, but pair the hair with his build and it was a pretty distinctive look. Carla knows that if she tried, she could find him. She doesn’t; she just compliments him on his upgraded helmet when she sees him a few weeks later.
-Ernesto Reyes knows that he’s the Red Hood’s mechanic. The guy calls himself Jay, is chill, and chats to Ernesto in easy Spanish when he comes to pick up his bike, but come on. Everyone in Crime Alley knows that bike. Ernesto’s had to fix bullet holes. Jay’s bike helmet is fucking red. The guy’s either dumb as fuck, cocky as fuck, or a dramatic shithead but either way he pays well and Ernesto’s had worse customers. He’s not telling anybody anything.
Meanwhile Jason’s just like “DOOP DI DOO sure is good to be a super sneaky crime lord ha Ha I’m so much better than Batman”

this means ada could've reached out and grabbed it.
missed her by seconds. couldn't stop her, and couldn't be stopped.
Tiny change that I like thinking about for 6: have carla take off the scarf in the scene before she's shot and be holding it. That way when she does get shot she gets to let it go on the way down.

𝗔 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗢𝗡 𝗧𝗢 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗬 (ᴘᴀʀᴛ ᴛᴡᴏ)
Tumblr media
pairing: the worst!logan howlett x wade’s goddaughter!reader
warning: ghosted, crying, mention of alcohol, Wade getting mad, fighting another mutant, SEXUAL ASSAULT, etc.
summary: Logan tried ignoring y/n, afraid something would happen to her like the rest of the people he cared about. That was until Wade told him about the man she was afraid of. The man who would do anything to hurt her.
After seeing the sight before him when he went to get y/n, he was crushed. That man needed to die, and Logan was going to make that happen.
follow our Instagram @ darnell.la so we can start posting random videos, photos, edits, and memes of the people we write about!
———
Logan has been away for thirty minutes, thinking about what he just got himself into, and what he’s gotten y/n into.
He truly believes that he is cursed and there’s no saving him. Even if he was cursed, it was just the devil's luck that everyone he loved died. Karma is also on the way for what he’s done.
He didn’t want you y/n to know what kind of person he was, even though that was just a one-time thing. He didn’t mean it, but he was just so angry. They killed his family, and he wasn’t just going to walk away.
Logan slowly got out of bed so he wouldn’t wake y/n up. He wanted her to get a good rest before she started her day.
Logan looked around the room until he found a mirror. He slowly walked up to it, getting a look of himself. He hasn’t looked at himself in the mirror since that day. He couldn’t deal with it.
He scanned his body, surprised at the work he’s got on him, even though he hadn’t gone to work until Wade picked him up.
The man smiled to himself, feeling great that he could look good for someone like someone. At her age, she might not want a sloppy Joe. She’d want a Logan Howlett, old but can fuck her on the wall.
The man soon stopped himself, feeling like he was smiling too early. What if y/n just wanted a one-night stand? What if the Wolverine she was crushing on is way different than him?
Does he deserve to settle down? Would the people's family members he’s killed accept this? Would you accept what he did?
Logan’s thoughts were all over the place. He could stay here. The man quickly put his clothes back on and left, making sure she didn’t wake up to the sight of him leaving.
A couple hours later, y/n woke up. She had almost forgotten what happened last night until she felt the dent right next to her, in her mattress.
Y/n smiled to herself, already missing his presence. He was so good at what he did. She felt safer than she’d ever felt. He truly is a hero.
It’s been a week since Logan has talked to y/n. Wade had given him a flip phone a few days ago with his hand y/n’s number in it for emergency contact, but he never reached out. Y/n did, but he hung up. He didn’t ignore it, he hung up.
Every day when y/n woke up, she looked straight at her phone, hoping Logan had texted or something, but he never did. Her smiles always faded and stayed faded for the rest of the day.
“Are you going to Max’s party tonight or no? I know you two don’t really — get along,” Y/n’s friend asked after she sat down at the cafeteria table she always sits at.
“Don’t want to, but I might have to,” she said, knowing Max would text her about it later today. “Why have to?” Carla, her friend asked, making y/n snap out of her memories of her and him.
“Oh, nothing, just- Because I want to party,” y/n switched how she presented herself so she wouldn't alarm her friend. She didn’t want anyone to worry. This was her problem. No one else.
Skip to the nighttime, y/n had gotten a text from Max, demanding her to show up at the party. She wanted to argue and tell him she was not coming, but she knew what would happen if she didn’t.
She’s exposed her, and while he did, he’d take whatever else he wanted from her. He was evil, but she was the only one who knew that.
As y/n got dressed, she got a call. She jumped on her bed to see who it was, hoping it was Logan, but it wasn’t. It was Wade. “Fuckin’ hell,” she sighed.
“What, Wade?” Y/n asked, annoyed. “So, how have you been?” Wade asked, starting a boring conversation, so y/n put him on speaker and continued. “Same old, Wade. What do you want?” She asked, making him giggle.
“Wanted to ask how you and Logan get along. Kinda needa make him some new friend, ain’t that right, peanut?” Wade talked to the man like a puppy.
“Wait, he’s with you? A-Are you on speaker?” She asked, feeling her heart pound. “No, of course not. Privacy matters,” the man spoke as he winked at Logan, totally on speaker.
“Oh, well — I don’t think me and him are going to work. Like friend wise,” y/n said. She wanted to be more than friends, but he ghosted her after they had sex. The best sex she’s had in her life. She can’t put that all behind her.
“What!? Why!?” He asked as Logan stood up quickly, wanting to say something, but Wade stopped him. “I-I don’t know,” y/n lied and Wade knew it. He hoped the man didn’t yell at her or make her cry.
“Look- I gotta go to a party, so, uh, please just- Don’t try to fix my life,” y/n said. “What are you talking about? Wait- Are you going over to his house again!? Y/n, we talked about this,” Wade got serious, and Logan has never seen that from him.
“You know him, Wade. I-If I don’t go, he’ll tell everyone and then I can’t live a normal life. That’s all I want. A normal life,” y/n’s eyes began to burn.
“It’s 2024, y/n — People will accept-“ Wade tried saying. “No, they won’t!” She yelled. Wade could hear the change in her tone, so he let it go. “I-I’ll call later,” she said before she hung up.
“The fuck was that about?” Logan asked. “It’s a long story that I can’t tell,” Wade said as he leaned back on the couch. “What!? But you had her on speaker when you told her she wasn’t. What’s the big deal about telling me when she’s not even here?”
“Look- It’s different, peanut. My baby girl has been through a lot, and it’s not to easy make this guy go away,” Wade grabbed the remote to his TV to turn it on and watch some kind of cartoon.
“Woah, and — The fuck did you do to make her not wanna be friends? God, you’re so fuckin’ hard to deal with. Always lashing out like the big ole beast you are,” Wade rolled his eyes.
“I didn’t do anything — I just left before I could hurt her,” he said. “What?” Wade looked up at the man who was standing in front of him. He was confused until it finally dinged in his head.
“Y’all fucked!?” Wade jumped on his couch as he shouted. “Oh god,” Logan rolled his eyes as he walked back to the small couch he’s always on and flopped down.
“You do! You dirty little gribble. God fuckin- Fuck! You’re a fuckin’ dumbass,” Wade couldn’t stop rambling. “Heard that before,” Logan said as he grabbed his half-empty beer before chugging it down, thinking about how much of an asshole he is.
“You can’t just fuck a girl- Especially a college girl, then leave! You like- Dude, you broke her heart!” Wade grabbed his head, stressed that Logan could fuck up this bad.
“Well, clearly I didn’t even she was heading over to another man’s house that she’s clearly not supposed to be with,” he was jealous. Once she mentioned a dude, Logan’s blood boiled. She moved on so fast.
“You dumb bitch — He’s abusive! He’s making her go over there!” Wade yelled at the man. “What?” Logan asked as he placed his bottle down. “Why would she go over there if he’s abusive?”
“Oh, well maybe because he’s a mutant, and would kill her if she didn’t. Or expose her which I think she’d rather die than let people know she’s one too,” Wade said then covered his mouth. He fucked up.
“She’s a mutant?” Logan asked with a soft voice. One of his worries was that she’d never understand him, or die years before he would somehow grow old.
“Fuck it, let’s go. I got the Wolverine now so we have a ninety-nine point ninety percent of winning, but that point 1 percent can fuck us,”
Wade and Logan quickly rushed out of the apartment and rushed over to Max’s house, not knowing there was going to be a huge party.
“Who the fuck is this kid?” Logan asked as they got out of Wade’s car. “He ain’t no kid — Bro has been awhile for almost as long as you. He just looks like he’s in his late twenties,”
“He’s a strong mutant or what?” Logan asked, not really caring what he was. He was still going to kill him for doing the things Wade told him he’d done. He’s sick.
Wade told the story of how y/n came back up bleeding everywhere. Even from her legs. The sick man has been trying to trap her with kids for the past couple of years after he found out she was a mutant himself.
He wanted to rule, and he needed a family to do that. Y/n was one of the strongest mutants he’s seen, and he’s one of the strongest mutants Y/n has seen. She’s too afraid to fight him. He made sure of that.
“You call y/n?” Logan asked as he pulled his flip phone out. “Yeah, but she’s not answering,” Wade said as the two walked towards the home and inside, ears instantly ringing from how loud the music was. “She ain’t answering me either,” Logan said.
Y/n was currently in Max’s room, laid out and drugged. Some days he’d want a fight while the others, he just wanted it to be relaxing.
Y/n could barely move, but she could see everything clearly. Even though her head was spinning, she could see Logan calling her phone.
It was so close. Her hands were so close to it, but her body was weak.
“Who’s this?” Max asked as he picked up her phone, making her sigh. “Hm?” he turned the phone to her face, showing the calling picture being Logan when he was knocked out the night that had sex.
“No one,” y/n got out with a struggle. “No one, huh? Well, that looks like the Wolverine, and last time I checked, he died,” Max said before he hung up and tossed her phone to the side.
“Don’t make me ask again, y/n,” Max threatened as he looked down at her. “N-No one,” she said, not wanting to put Logan in danger after he clearly wanted nothing to do with her.
Max laughed low as he took his shirt off and leaned over her body, his waist coming up and between her legs to spread her enough for him.
“Once I find out who he is, I’m going to kill him — Slowly,” Max added as her head moved side to side, begging him not to. “And I see he’s shirtless — On your sheets, so I’m going to do all of it in front of you while I show him who you belong,”
Y/n sobbed at the thought of him hurting someone because of her, again. He was evil.
“She’s not down here,” Logan said, feeling his heart raise. “Upstairs,” Wade spoke before running up the stairs to search every single room. The house was big, but that was their least concern.
“Always so tight for me. You sure you don’t want this? If you just give in, we could have a perfect and happy family,” he was insane, and she wanted no part of it.
“Y/n!” Logan’s voice could be heard down the hall. Max looked up, knowing he’d heard that voice before. “Y/n!?” He yelled again, making Max look down at her with a smirk.
“So, that is the Wolverine? Fuuck, y/n — You really outdid yourself. You think getting with another mutant will keep him alive?” Max slapped the girl across her face before pulling out and throwing her off of his bed.
Y/n struggled but moved her panties back in place before curling up on the floor. She didn’t know what was going to happen. She couldn’t watch.
Max fixed himself up and looked at the door, waiting for it to burst open until it did. There he was — with a friend.
“Deadpool and the Wolverine — Well, isn’t this new,” Max said, but Logan wasn’t focused on him. The man was looking around for y/n until his eyes landed on her. She was in her bra and panties. What Wade said was right…
“You young son of a bitch,” Logan had charged at him, and though Max hasn’t gone against a mutant like Logan, he was lasting a long time. A little too long which scared y/n.
“Let’s get outta here,” Wade picked y/n up to her feet but she instantly fell down. “Fuck- Did he drug you?” He asked and earned a nod. “Fuck!” He said, about to pick her up until he was tackled.
Logan was on the ground, head spinning from the beating he just took from Max, but he wasn’t done. Logan went to charge at the man with his claws out until he saw y/n, still laid out on the floor.
“Y/n?” Logan ran up to the girl, quickly trying to pull her up. “We need to go,” he said but noticed her body was slumped. “He fuckin’ drugged you?” Logan asked, earning a nod just like Wade.
It took everything for Logan not to attack Max. He had other things to do, and Wade handled Max just fine for now with his jokes and fake yells.
Logan was able to sneak out without Max noticing. Some people at the party looked at the man carrying her but paid no attention to it. They only double-checked because she was half-naked.
He made it out of the party and into Wade’s car. He was thinking about driving off until Wade was thrown through the third-floor glass, right next to the car.
“God- Fuck! Fuck, that motherfuckers strong,” Wade groaned as he got up, cracking his leg and arms back in the right spot. He looked to the side to see Logan and y/n lying in the back of his car.
“Get on the car motherfucker!” Logan yelled on the driver's side right before Wade jumped through the passenger side window that was rolled down.
As Logan stomped on the metal and took off, he looked back seeing Max standing in his room that he threw Wade out of.
Y/n was currently sound asleep next to Logan. They’re back at Wade’s apartment. Logan had taken her to bed so she could rest. She didn’t need to go to school tomorrow. He didn’t want her out anywhere until they dealt with Max.
“Next time we see him, we end him,” Logan said, laying on his bed and looking up at Wade who was standing in the door frame. Wade came to say the same. Y/n didn’t need to live a life like this just to be normal.
“All he is, is you without the claws. He regenerates, is fast, grunts a lot, and growls,” Wade had to say something funny. “If we give him around all, we’ve got a chance,”

thinking about those 'when did they fall in love polls,' and wondering once again about how much of eddie's feelings about buck in early s3 are actually about shannon, and how/when that flips and the feelings become about buck.
like, okay, here's a bold claim (do i believe it? i'm curious about it. i'm making the claim but i'm curious to see if i'm right. you get it):
eddie telling buck "there's no one i trust with my son more than you" is eddie working through his feelings about shannon, not wholly about buck and buck's relationship with christopher.
my reasoning:
shannon just died, like, an emotional SECOND ago
in the months leading up to her death, she and eddie fought (pretty devastatingly!) over whether or not he could trust chris with her
he ultimately decided he could
one of the last conversations they ever had was about shannon telling him that she wanted to be there for chris so badly that she didn't want to try to have a romantic relationship with eddie at the same time
and then she died
so okay, like, an emotional second after that, buck ALMOST dies
eddie's in the hospital waiting room while they work on buck's leg and he was JUST there for shannon, and this is someone else who he cares deeply about, who is becoming more and more important to him, and he might die and idk it's just plausible to me that the feelings would get. weird and mixy.
then buck's depressed because he's home and recovering and can't go back to work, and eddie decides he's going to cheer him up by having buck babysit christopher
buck has NEVER BABYSAT CHRIS BEFORE, this is implied to be his FIRST BABYSITTING GIG OUT THE GATE
the tsunami happens. eddie sees buck standing there looking devastated with christopher's glasses around his neck, someone he trusted with chris who has, perhaps, failed him, and has the worst five seconds of his life before he realizes christopher is alive. and then chris tells eddie all about how buck saved him and he knew buck would come back.
and buck thinks eddie won't ever trust chris with him again, and, you know, it's honestly not an unreasonable fear. the thought HAS to have crossed eddie's mind, like, can you trust this person who you trusted your son with and then your son almost died
and eddie comes back HARD with reassurances that yeah, buck failed that kid, but eddie's failed him too, and the important thing is that they both love him anyway.
That's a different version of a conversation he and Shannon already have, back in that parking lot in season two, except because it's the second iteration, Eddie leans right into the reassurance I think he wishes he'd given Shannon, in hindsight: there's no one I trust with my son more than you.
like, okay. that's an insane thing to say and mean, given Carla and Pepa and Abuela. but he does say it. and i think it's partially because Eddie is incredibly moved by Buck saving Chris's life, and he IS inclined to give people second chances, AND I think it's because, like. for romantic reasons but also NDE/grief reasons and "Chris loves you" reasons, I think he's mixing up some of his new feelings for Buck with his old feelings for Shannon.
There's no one I trust with my son more than you, Eddie says, and I'm not saying he doesn't mean it, or that he isn't saying it TO Buck, but. I do think it's a sentiment that's very deeply informed by what he wishes he'd said to Shannon.
okay and then there's also the grocery store fight! this one's easier/less ambiguous, imo. eddie blows up at buck for abandoning christopher, but actually for abandoning him, we all agree on that. but i think he's actually pretty unambiguously projecting some of his anger at shannon for abandoning him and christopher onto buck. "did you even think about christopher? do you even know how much he misses you? how could you." LIKE. this is a fight you're having with your coparent who left you!!! we already know that Eddie's working out his grief over Shannon with anger and violence in the fighting ring plot—to me the grocery store fight is more of the same. It's not that he's not legitimately angry at Buck, but the WAY he's angry is like—a much bigger response than is seemingly merited by Buck's actual betrayal, as we can see by the way Chim and Hen respond. And that's because Eddie's been slowly falling for Buck, yes, and because Chris DOES miss him, but I think it's also because, like—he's grieving his wife! He's saying the things he never said to her to Buck, because even in his anger he still views Buck as a safe person to get mad at, because he doesn't think Buck will really leave forever.
it's funny bc Buck tells Eddie explicitly that he thinks Eddie was projecting his feelings about Buck onto the fights. And I'm like, well, you're right, but I think he's also projecting his feelings about Shannon's death onto YOU. he's a projector.
and then after that you've got a series of some of the most domestic / romantic buddie episodes in the show—like, buck and eddie "go for the title," buck brings christmas to the firehouse, buck and eddie build chris the adaptive skateboard, buck is firmly part of chris and eddie's life in a way that's NEW, a closeness that they were building to in s2 but which only gets to thrive now, in mid s3. like—eddie and chris are healing over the worst of the grief. eddie starts to rebuild his life, emotionally, and he puts buck directly in the center. and that IS about buck, not shannon, even if it is about the empty space she left in eddie's life.
and then we get the well collapse, and eddie does a mental rehash of his marriage and his baby—how he and shannon failed each other, and failed chris, but also how they were each there for him at different times, how he wants to be there for chris forever. and he digs himself out of his grave. and he puts buck in his will.
is that "about" shannon? it's about eddie's relationship with shannon, definitely. like, okay, it's about christopher, first and foremost—but I do think it's also about eddie's feelings for buck. he wants chris to be happy and safe; he thinks buck would keep chris happy and safe. because he's been carefully rebuilding his life around buck! ever since he, like, kind of rehashed some of the biggest mistakes he feels like he and shannon made in their marriage with buck, but this time it ended up better. buck failed chris, and eddie decided to keep trusting him. buck left, and eddie yelled at him about leaving, and buck came back and fit himself even more deeply into their lives.
i don't think the parallels continue that far past season three, because I think that's the peak of eddie's grief, and thus the place he's dealing with his subconscious shannon feelings most directly, but like. i don't know, they're there! buck was kim before kim was kim, only kim knew there was a script ("I loved you, I'm sorry,"), and buck DIDN'T, but he still managed to say and do the exact things eddie needed to hear. (Most of what Buck does is just find opportunities for him and Chris and Eddie to spend time together. BREAK MY HEART RIGHT OPEN, you know????)

Empire of Death was bad and cemented several fundemental flaws in this season.
I watched this in the theatre, and the contrast between everyone's excitement before Empire, and their universal disappointment leaving the theatre was super disheartening. I'm gonna try to articulate my problems with episode, and how they're linked to fundenental structural issues of this season.
SPOILERS BELOW:
Sutekh
The moment the UNIT characters died the story was robbed of any stakes. (Also? Kate and Ibrahim?? During Pride month?? Disgusting)
Sutekh was pointless, big CGI spectacle who was barely there. Saying he's been latched onto the TARDIS since Pyramids of Mars was such an asspull. Why couldn't he have latched on during Wild Blue Yonder? wouldn't that make much more sense??
You're telling me the guy who holds all life in contempt is invested enough in learning the identity of Ruby's mum he willingly reveals himself??
And then they defeat him by dragging him through the Vortex just like before, which it's been explicitly stated *didn't work* last time? He just *lets* Ruby leash him??
The 'death of death is life' bit, and the idea of the Doctor representing life as a Ying to Sutekh's Yang, is a cool concept just jammed in there with no real buildup or depth.
The issue is bringing Sutekh back takes so much effort- a literal, clunky clipshow of Pyramids of Mars, a whole episode spent building up to the reveal of a silly anagram entirely unrekated to Sutekh's previous appearance. And it just... amounts to nothing. What a silly way to cap off a season meant to be jumping-on point for brand-new viewers.
Mel was just takingup space. Pointless.
Ruby's Mother
I don't have a problem with the *concept* of Ruby's mum being normal. I really like the idea thematically. The execution was terrible.
First of all it leaves so many unanswered questions (why the snow? Why was time changing? Why was she shadowed? Literally just for the sake of the mystery-box?) and represents the worst thing about this new era- RTD using fantasy logic to handwave any logic at all, and just do whatever he wants without properly justifying it.
Second, I *hate* how easy and simple and neat the reunion is. Ruby seems incapable of getting angry with anyone. She has never once argued with 15, or Carla, or anyone besides that one moment in 73 Yards. She has never expressed any kind of negative feeling towards her mother for abandoning her. And it's fine for her to reach that conclusion! It's just bizzare we never see Ruby struggle with her feelings beyond the shallow goal of wanting to find her.
(Also Carla? Has nothing to say?? Just welcomes that woman in with basically no comment? Carla is a 2D cutout of a person, used as a plot device and otherwise relegated to the single character trait of I Love My Daughter. The children yearn for the ilk of Jackie Tyler, Sylvia Noble, even Francine Jones.)
15 & Ruby
The emotion behind 15 & Ruby's split felt entirely unearned because we've never seen their bond develop. They never argue, never disagree, Ruby hasn't learned anything about herself or grown or changed. The closest we got to that is 73 Yards, which was undone. She was already brave and kind and musical and sure she loved her adoptive family when we met her in Church on Ruby Road.
Similarly, 15 tells us Ruby encouraged him to talk about family in a way he never has, but that was in what, two moments across the season? And they seemed random, unrelated to Ruby being with him. New viewers will assume 15 is just that open anyway- he was discussing fatherhood with a dead man's hologram- and old viewers assumed trauma-dumping was just a new trait of 15's personality, not Ruby-specific.
The problem is we're told Ruby & 15 are best friends but it isn't earned. I liked 15 crying initially but both he and Ruby do it so much (15 cries about 5 times in this one episode) it loses its impact and I'm becoming numb to it. There is no contrast, no downtime.
Season Structural Issues
I think the biggest problem is Season 1's storytelling priorities. It's much more interested in selling *the show* (look at our big budget! And guest stars! And how flexible our format is! Musical episode! The Beatles as props! Bottle episode! Indie folk-horror! Black Mirror! Gay Bridgerton!) it forgot to put effort into developing and investing us in its characters. I liked a lot of the individual stories this year but in retrospect a lot of them feel like they're wasting space that needed to go to essential character and theme setup.
These skewed priorities, combined with the cut down episode count, really impact the pacing of the season. Ruby and 15 were barely together! Even in Rogue they were seperated for most of the story!! We only loop back to a flashback of 15 meeting Carla in Rogue!
This is made worse by the baffling insistence on a 45-minute runtime. We know key sequences were cut from almost every episode, with highlights including:
The Gobin King invading Ruby's flat and her banishing him with scratchcards in The Church on Ruby Road: Her missing 'companion saves the day' moment!
Refrence to the Toymaker in The Church on Ruby Road, which was itself referenced in The Devil's Chord. 'I told you about the Toymaker when we first met' sir, objectively you did not.
The TARDIS jukebox playing the Sugarbabes' Push The Button in the opening scene of Space Babies, hastily cut around in the final edit. This is the setup of a running joke still in the episode, and part of the story's climax. The first encounter with the Bogeyman was also longer, with 15 taking particular interest in its skin
Extended scenes in Abbey Road from The Devil's Chord, including an apparently significant speaking role for Cilla Black, according to her annoyed actress.
Cut dialogue from The Devil's Chord explaining the musoical number was caused by Maestro's power lingering, and that banishing them undid everything they'd done. Fans inferred thos based on the rules established in The Giggle, but again, new fans haven't seen The Giggle and were left clueless.
An opening sequence for The Legend of Ruby Sunday where 15 & Ruby meet Susan as a nanny in 1947 America, a blue-skinned waitress, and an astronaut meeting a colony of giant, sentient ants. At the end of this we actually see 15 decide to go to UNIT for help. In the broadcast version he just sorta shows up.
Really what Empire of Death exposed to me is how emotionally hollow the season was. I enjoy the exoperimentalism, but not at the cost of character. And then in the finale Russell reverts to almost a parody of his RTD1 finales, with the nonsense logic and lack of consequences. All the worst bits of Last of the Time Lords and The Giggle put in a blender.

Things in The Lost Boys novelization that I haven’t been able to stop thinking about since I read it.
First of all Marko’s name is spelled Marco the whole book. I have zero clue why.
The officer that kicked them off the boardwalk at the beginning has two children and failed police schoool.
He also wishes the boardwalk would give him a gun so he can shoot at the gangs to scare them off
One of the reasons Micheal hates the move to Santa Carla is because he was in the beginnings of a relationship back in Arizona
Lucy ran away from home when she was a teenager and hichhiked all the way to the Golden Gate park where she spent the night.
Micheals father and Grandpa got into a fistfight at his grandmothers gravesite during her funeral
Dwanye likes to skateboard and is really good at it
Micheal thinks that he is hallucinating his rice and noodles as maggots and worms because he ‘smoked too much weed’ (Now i’m no marujania expert but I’m pretty sure that’s not how weed works, sir)
Sam tries to smoke weed by rolling up a single leaf, not by rolling a leaf into a blunt, just lighting a leaf on fire basically
There’s a scene where Nanook won’t stop licking Micheals feet because they’re covered in salt for some reason???
One night after Lucy gets off of work the Lost Boys corner harass her until Max steps in to save her (this is actually a deleted scene that you can find on youtube)
Star used to live in an abusive home before she ran away to Santa Carla where David found her sleeping on the beach.
At one point, Micheal tries to take a shower, but the running water feels “boiling hot” and causes rashes to appear on his skin (it’s an old myth that vampires can’t cross running water) this is only one of a few things that I use to back up my headcanon that the lost boys smell like dog shit
Micheal eats a rat
According to Star, Dwayne is “A bit awkward” (socially inept Dwyane save me).
Paul is the newest vampire in the group and because of that Star assumes he still remembers what its like to be human, and because of that he tries to cheer her up when she is upset.
When Marko dies black sludge strats to come out of his eyes, ears, nose, and mouth and his body rapidly decomposes turning into a “mound of clothes and decomposing flesh”
When all The Lost Boys are dying in the house Star can hear them all dying from the upstairs room and it greatly upsets her. Omg it’s honestly such a sad moment because she realizes that if they don’t die she and Laddie will be stuck with them literally forever but she’s still kinda close to them and hearing them die is traumatic. Dear god someone get that woman a quiet life and a ton of therapy.

An Arc’s Revenge
Juniper: So… Let me get this straight… There’s a kid at school named, Cardin Winchester?
Jaune: Yes.
Juniper: And, this kid tends to bully you at school.
Jaune: Among others, but it’s mostly him.
Juniper: And, he’s been bullying you by knocking your stuff over, shoving you around, and general blackmail you into doing his school work.
Jaune: He also shoved me into a rocket launcher, and sent me flying.
Juniper: H-He did what?! Okay, no… let’s, let’s just put that on the back burner for now.
Jaune: Okay.
Juniper: So, you decided to come up with a plan to get revenge on, Cardin for all the things he has done to you. Now, instead of coming up with some elaborate prank that would totally humiliate him. You decided to go the opposite route… and, fuck his mother?!
Jaune: Yeah, pretty much.
Juniper: Why the hell would you do that?!
Jaune: Well, at first at went to, Carla…?!
Juniper: Mrs. Winchester! You are not getting on any friendly ground with her bucko!
Jaune: Okay… I went to, Ms. Winchester, and asked her if she could give me any information on, Cardin. What are his biggest fears, secrets he doesn’t want exposed, things like that. She understood I wanted to get revenge for all of his bullying. But, then, Ms. Winchester purposed a plan that would really upset, Cardin.
Jaune: That I fuck her.
Juniper: Wait! This was her plan?!
Jaune: Yep. Apparently she wanted to teach, Cardin a lesson too, and she thought, ‘What better revenge can a guy get, than fucking his bully’s mom.’
Juniper: Are you kidding me?! That seriously can’t be the reason behind why she slept with you?!
Jaune: Well, she also mentioned some things about… a dry spell, sexy blonds. And, something else afterwards about being sexually satisfied? I wasn’t sure what she meant by that.
Juniper: Good gods! Okay, I’m going to have a word with, Ms. Winchester. Acheius, you go talk to your son I… oh gods…
Acheius: Jaune, I can’t believe you would do something so childish!
Acheius: Nice job out there son! That’s a pretty dame you bagged out there!
Jaune: Ehhh… What?
Acheius: And, with a woman twice your age too!
Acheius: Juniper actually wanted me to bang her to get back at the husband for what she said to, Juni. He died before I could.
Jaune: Mom wanted you to do what now…?
Acheius: I can’t believe that my son would stoop to something so low, and depraved! Didn’t I teach you better?!
Acheius: Your mom would have done it herself, but she was pregnant at the time.
Jaune: You didn’t teach me any…?! Wait, Mom would have done it?!
Acheius: I can’t believe my son would do such a thing… I am so disappointed in you…
Acheius: I’m so proud of you! Here’s 200 Lien, treat the lady to a nice dinner!
Jaune: Okay…?
Acheius: You are ground for a week… No! A…?!
Juniper: Jauney~!
Acheius: Uh oh…
Jaune: Y-Yes?
Juniper: After much consideration, and discussion with, Carla. I approve of your relationship with her.
Jaune: You do?
Acheius: Beg pardon?
Juniper: Yes, Carla is a kind, and caring widow who is searching for a lover to share her life with, and we both agree that you are that man!
Jaune: Okay…?
Juniper: So you two go on, and have a wonderful time together, okay dear?
Jaune: What the hell is going on…?
Juniper: Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to have a world with my new BFF~!
Jaune: ‘BFF?’
Jaune: Dad… What the fuck just happened?
Acheius: I have no idea… One moment she’s screaming at you for bedding a woman twice your age, now she getting all buddy, buddy with her; I haven’t the faintest clue what just happened.
Juniper: Oh, Jaune?
Jaune: Yeah?
Juniper: Remember: If you use a condom your pee-pee will fall off! Okay? Bye~!
JA: …?
JA: Ohhhhhhhh…
Jaune: That certainly explains the 180 she just performed.
Acheius: Yeah. Your mother has always had a thing for babies…
Jaune: I know…
Jaune: She’ll kill me if I don’t knock, Carla up within the month won’t she?
Acheius: Maine you at worst.
Jaune: Shit…

Diabolik Lovers: How Turning a Human Works (Requested)
Diabolik Lovers* is a Japanese otome game franchise. In it, a human girl becomes a sacrificial bride to thirteen demons; depending on the source material. Some character routes depict the girl having turned into a demon. Due to this, the process of turning will be explored in this article. Please note: No fan theories or headcanons (fan interpretations or additions of a fictional story that aren't canon or confirmed to be canon by the creator) will be included in this article.
Turning a Human
There are two ways in which a human can be turned into a vampire or some other demon: The first is the long process. This involves a human having their blood sucked repeatedly and/or having sexual intercourse with a demon, but the latter isn't necessary. Regardless, the human will gradually become a demon (DL game: Haunted Dark Bridal, Shu's End 2).
Tumblr media
Second is the short process. This involves having a human drink a demon's blood. A human will then be automatically turned into a demon. However, Karlheinz [possibly Carla and Kino] are the only demons capable of doing this due to their immense power. Karl demonstrates this on the four Mukami brothers as the children were on the brink of death (DL anime, seas 2 & DL game: More Blood). Despite this, demons like Shu and Laito are still able to use their blood to speed up the process of turning Yui (HDB game, Laito's Route Dark 4 & End 1).
Tumblr media
Karlheinz offering Ruki life as a vampire (anime).
Yui's Exception
As the Diabolik Lovers franchise progressed, many things about the universe were further explored. Although Yui could become a vampire in Haunted Dark Bridal, later games go into detail about her special circumstance of possessing a demon's heart. The moment a human becomes a demon is called, "the awakening." Laito admits he wanted to turn Yui into a vampire, but he couldn't. She had yet to change despite how the process should have been completed already. "I don’t know whether your heart’s the blame for that, or if it’s something entirely different…" (DL game: Dark Fate, Laito's Maniac Epilogue). Despite Yui already being an unknown demonic sub-race, Ruki realizes he can't turn Yui into a vampire, nor can anyone else turn her into another race, until she chooses her partner (DL anime seas 2).

Sacrificial Brides
Since the Sakamaki brothers were told to live in a mansion in the human world, they have been receiving sacrificial brides every now and then. This occurrence doesn't happen often as the brothers had no idea why Yui entered their home outside of Shu, who had been notified by their father but failed to inform them (DL anime, seas 1).
Prior to Yui, all the brides were directly sent over as food (HDB, Laito's Maniac 7). They have all died because no bride is typically strong enough to withstand the intense blood-drinking needs of the Sakamaki brothers. Since the brothers are Purebloods, they require a significant amount of blood to survive because human food doesn't nourish them. As such, a bride's blood is highly sought after. Being drained of blood by one or two vampires on a daily basis can be overwhelming for a human body to handle. In addition, the more aggressive brothers might not always regulate their feeding from lack of control. Overall, a bride is often not prepared to handle the intense feeding sessions as their drained of life and killed. Due to this, none of the girls were around the Sakamaki brothers long enough to be turned into vampires.
Because neither of the Sakamaki brothers have ever turned a human into a vampire before, Laito speaks his mind and says he wonders what type of demon Yui will become (HDB Laito's Maniac Epilogue).

Regardless if Tim has been meaning to do this on purpose, if it sort of became a thing somewhere along the way, or he didn't at all—there's a notable similarity in the way Maddie and Eddie are approached from a characterization standpoint in the show's writing room. Which has eventually led me to believe that if ‘Buddie’ does ever end up actually happening, it will come about paralleling ‘Madney’ in some capacity.
I am not the first person to vocalise that these two characters [Eddie Diaz and Maddie Han (Buckley)] seem to parallel each other in more than the typical three-way patterning.
But to talk about Eddie and Maddie and how they're constantly in equidistant loop to each other, I need to talk about how Chimney and Buck's essence is essentially each face of the same coin to support two very similar counterparts—they bear a subtle resemblance with the way their storylines align. If we hark back to season 1: Chim is stuck on Tatiana; to whom he poses for as this perfect all-rounder hero. With Tatiana, Chimney becomes the kid who in order to be somebody worth sticking around for [he] has to prove that he's of value — Buck is stuck on his sex rendezvouses (before Abby a few episodes later), stuck in this unhealthy whorl where he copes with people leaving and nobody wanting to stick around, by having short-lived affairs.
During season 1 their [Chim and Buck] storylines are pretty much a sum of poor choices that eventually help them, or deceive them into thinking for a while that they have found themselves. They constantly find reassurance in being valued for what they think makes them an indispensable part of their compeer’s life, to no avail, when they come face to face with the fact that neither [Tatiana or Abby] had plans of sticking around for them —Chim who was ready to take the next step by proposing, and Buck who was already deeply involved in Abby’s life and practically living in her house. They are both left at the altar with their vows in-hand with a run-away bride.
During season 2 we have Chim and Tatiana seeing each other again after 6-ish months since she fled. Tatiana is pregnant and engaged, a future she didn't see viable with him. And During season 3 we have Buck and Abby seeing each other again after two years approx. Abby is engaged to a man that has two daughters, a future that she never thought about with Buck — both episodes end with them re-linking to have one last conversation that'll allow them to cross-over the bridge.
Chim and Buck both suffer similar deteriorating self-esteem issues when it comes to conceiving an honest relationship that doesn't only rely on the physical —until Maddie and Eddie are introduced, and Buck seems to break free from Abby’s curse a couple of episodes later (closing chapter completely when he has that last conversation that helps him understand where she was coming from), and Chimney has left Tatiana and his concerns about his life altering trauma long forgotten.
Season 2 episode 1 ‘Under Pressure’; Buck meets Eddie through work introduced by Bobby who had just hired the latter. Three episodes later during ‘Help is not coming’ (the earth-quake finale from the two-parter), Buck drives Eddie to pick Christopher up in an emotionally umpt scene. Maddie mentions Buck having a boy crush on Eddie and if that meant he was ready to move out of Abby’s place during episode four, the same one where later Buck ‘steps in’ Eddie's life and introduces Carla Pierce to him [Eddie] so she can take care of Christopher (his son) while he works. And then in episode 17 of season two, Shannon (Eddie's estranged wife) dies. —  Chimney meets Maddie through Buck introducing them at her house-move-in during season 2 episode 6, where he helps her install camera devices so she is safe (not yet aware of Doug.) Maddie tells Buck ‘he is so cute’ (to which he thinks she's referring to Eddie) in that same scene. They become acquainted and start hanging out, and two episodes later Buck notes they're dating without actually knowing it. After denying it, Maddie and Chim have their first date in episode 11 (unsuccessfully as Doug kidnaps Maddie and stabs Chimney), that same episode Maddie kills Doug (her abusive ex-husband) in self-defense.
Before misfortune knocks on their doors Chimney and Buck approach their respective relationships without any expectations. Buck starts by head-butting in a one-sided fight with Eddie where he feels overthrown by his competency and fears his place is in jeopardy, only to turn up for both of them to be complementary in the field and work together perfectly in unison. And Chim by going over to his co-worker’s sister house to help with some security system management, only to start hanging out with her exponentially until it becomes so easy to be with each other that they fall in to this lovely routine that leads to love. — Simultaneously, Eddie and Buck also start falling into the same routine, that leads to Buck co-parenting Christopher naturally.
In spite of whether you consider ‘Buddie’ romantically inclined or not by the narrative—Chimney and Buck's storylines align again, when after being done with their necessary-evil relationships they come to find a complimentary companion, at the same time.
Not only do their storylines align, but so do the salient subtleness and self-centric cerberus when it comes to their surly temperament with their respective parents, vs. them having each a postiche family:
Chimney's father is notoriously an entrenched man who barely took notice or interest of little Howard or his wife when they lived under the same roof. He was difficult to impress (stoic), uninterested, neglectful—the latter worsening when Jee-Hyun Han (Chimney's mother) passed away from cancer. During his early years, as stated in the show, Chimney tried really hard to obtain his father's approval, futilely. His abortive tries ended up resulting in deception, so he gave up on building any further relationship with his care-taker [father]. They moved to the USA, and ultimately only his father went back to Korea after Chimney's mother stayed on her ground about staying there for the time forward. Unfortunately, as I said, his mother [Jee-Hyun Han] would end up dying years later when he is 14-15, and the Lee’s [Jee-Hyun Han's best friends who had a kid, Kevin, his age] took his tutelage — Buck was the youngest of 3 (unknown to him at that point.) Both of his parents were complex characters who were devoted to their own grief and catastrophic premonitions, that would turn into a repelling force of care-giving. Buck was nescient to the reasonings behind his birth, that he'd been purposefully tethered to higher responsibilities; conceived to be bed out to another body, to be the saviour of the brother he didn't know existed. Margaret Buckley is shown as highly depressed, cynically negging, a gaslighter, caught up in her vexation and showing signs of someone that is predestinarian. Philip Buckley is an enabler, repressedly angry, also a gaslighter, and conveniently demanding. They're both neglectful emotionally and physically, meeting Buck's demands momentarily to fulfill their guilty consciousness. Buck spends his childhood and teenage years trying to make himself visible, to the point of getting hurt on purpose for crumbs of their attention. He is unsuccessful to obtain their love at all, and leaves eventually after he's kicked out of college.
It is not surprising then, that Chimney and Buck, who have been abandoned by their primary care-givers and have fought to get their attention suffer from issues recognising their worth and don't step back from a fight to defend themselves when faced with the incognitas and comments from their parents. They're both reactive to stimuli, and use their fight mode to confront the world as seen multiple times.
Before becoming a firefighter Chimney hustles. He works multiple jobs trying to find a way to make ends meet while simultaneously searching for something that calls to him. He ends up working sometimes at a bar under Kevin's management. Unfortunately the bar is at a loss. But he finds that throughout helping people exit the establishment calmly and effectively, most importantly, safely, he wants to be a firefighter. Chimney is 25-26 at this point, as it dates 2005. — Buck spends the rest of what's left of his twenties cross-country with his jeep. He tries many jobs, and strolls without a purpose all over the country. At some point he ends up in Perú. He's working at a beach-bar when Connor (friend of his) approaches him with a proposition of going to LA, where Buck eventually finds his way to the fire academy and the 118. Buck is 25-26 at this point, as stated in the show that he is 26 whilst being a probie in s1.
There's a parallel in both age and situational that brings them to being firefighters at the end.
Chimney unfortunately loses Kevin in an emergency, who also becomes a firefighter with him. He is also at risk of losing Albert (step-brother) when his car flips over in a drunk-driver accident while Maddie is giving birth. He also loses Maddie same instances as Buck. — Buck feels the secret of Daniel (older brother who lost his life to juvenile-leukemia) throughout his life like a curse. Almost loses Maddie the first time to Doug kidnapping her, and a second time to Amber (the serial killer) kidnapping her and slashing her throat while pregnant with her second child. He thinks he's lost Eddie during the well incident, then loses Eddie during the sniper arch when he gets shoot, and thinks he's almost lost him again when Christopher calls him about Eddie's breakdown where he destroys his own room.
Chimney finds parents who love him in the Lee’s — Buck finds parents that love him in Bobby and Athena.
The subsequent likeness in their [Chim and Buck's] storylines is the quintessence of the matter that leads to Maddie and Eddie also being tantamount. They work as a mirage of their stories' intertextuality. Something that came about to me while watching 8x12 last night. The chance that we would get an episode centric on Eddie and Maddie were slim, but never none, and the way it was done so shows what I stated previously — Essentially the nature of their stories being paralleled.

You can definitely tell where the divergence point between YFNSM and the MCU is, and that's at Midtown. Doctor Strange and the Venomized Beast coming through was not meant to happen. It was a random factor that was diverting from a Canon Event. That's why Doctor Strange said "We're not supposed to be Here" and that's because he knows exactly where Here Is, and what time it is, so he knows that him appearing and damaging Midtown is diverting from the Canon and he has to leave quickly.
Through that, we now know a lot more about the scrapped MCU version of the script story, and what things can be applied to Tom Holland's Spider-Man.
First off, Uncle Ben died about 6-7 months before Civil War. We know this because YFNSM starts off with Peter and May still grieving Ben, with May still having her wedding ring on. Along with Peter saying "It'll distract me from all that's been going on lately..." And then immediately mentioning Ben to May, implies it was recent, within a month or so.
Aside from the doctor Strange Canon divergence fight of destroying Midtown and subsequently getting Peter bitten by a different reality's radioactive Spider, we can assume all the other events are fully canon to the MCU Timeline, just with Peter having to go to Rockford Bales Highschool while Midtown is being reconstructed. He still has that convo with May, Pearl (who is just a Repackaged Liz Allen from the original script) was still his childhood babysitter he developed a crush on but she went to Rockford Bales Highschool instead of him going to Midtown and subsequently meeting Liz Allen, Nico Minoru probably also exists in the MCU, but Peter not saving her from the Symbiote means they never became friends that say, and probably stayed classmates, Roxxon was mentioned so we can also assume that exists (and maybe that's where Peter's spider came from in the MCU), he still has similar crime events, and saving nearly the same people (just that Harry is replaced by a more MCU Canon equivalent, hell maybe it's Flash), and we get a full recreation of Peter's MCU intro from Civil War that tells us this really is just a divergent MCU Timeline. The Oscorp/Future Foundation suit is meant to be Peter's Stark Suit, and so all villains he fights while in said suit can be traced back to Peter having fought them in MCU Canon but it was during that 1 month between Civil War and Homecoming.
We can also now confirm that there is a version of the Lizard in the MCU, it's just not Curt Connors, but instead Carla Connors. If Oscorp does exist in the MCU, but is just a smaller company than Stark Industries until post Endgame, then Harry and Norman Osborn (probably these same Harry and Norman) also exist in the MCU, and we'll just meet them in this College Trilogy. All of the villains from No Way Home Probably all exist in the MCU, but are either Gender Swapped, Race Swapped, or more likely just haven't gained enough traction or been around the events that make them villains yet. MCU has Matt Gargan's Scorpion in the MCU, he just hasn't undergone the procedure to give him his iconic tail, Aaron Davis the Prowler exists, but he doesn't have his tech yet, and they had a Shocker who had all of his equipment who just hadn't learned to use it fully yet. We can now add Carla Conners the Lizard to the confirmed in MCU list, alongside Lonnie Lincoln as the Tombstone, who we haven't met in the Canon MCU because he was a Rockford Bales Student first, and he hadn't had his villain origin story yet.
Furthermore, we can confirm exactly what Peter has been doing during those months between Civil War and Homecoming, and which Crimes he couldn't stop because he was somewhere else in Canon MCU.
For instance, Butane Burning down the wrong building under someone else's orders? That still happened, but Peter was in Germany fighting the avengers while that was going down. We know that Peter will be fighting a lot of his D-list/C-List Villains from the comics in this show primarily, and we know through concept art we'll be seeing Doc Ock, but we don't know the status of any of the other MCU Characters.
I think, going by No Way Home Canon, the only Villain he didn't encounter in the MCU that he will probably encounter in this show, is Doc Ock. Any Green Goblin appearance in this show and Peter encountering him would be because of diverging timelines, but I think Doc Ock may also be a consequence of Canon divergence, specifically the "Divergence leads to events happening quicker" kind.
Either way you put it. I'm so excited for the next Drop of episodes so that they can help confirm or deny my thought process.

I need to write. I'm too pissed off rn.
What if Tommy showed up after Patricia died?
Moving her mother's stuff almost felt like betrayal. Abby knew her mom was gone, a part of her felt relieved, another upset, another angry.
It was just too overwhelming to feel or think. She just had to power through it but she was getting more drained and exhausted. Despite her brother, Carla, and Buck being there to help her pack and move stuff out.
Buck was trying his best. She knew that. But she felt a little annoyed and suffocated by him right now. Despite knowing deep down he didn't do anything wrong.
"Okay, clothes are boxed up and ready." Buck let her know, holding said boxes in his arm. She didn't appreciate the smile from Carla and the mirth behind her eyes regarding Buck inadvertently showing off his muscles. "Where do you want this?"
There was a pause before her brother noticed her expression and quickly told Buck, "Over there by the door is fine." He gave Abby a questionable glance, she could see her brother making his way towards her when the doorbell rang.
"That's probably Josh or Sue." Abby sighed, wiping her hands down the side of her pants anxiously. "Buck? Would you mind?" She jutted her chin towards the door.
"Uh- yeah, sure." Buck opened the door quickly and wide, she couldn't see his expression whilst opening it but Abby figured it was similar to her's.
She momentarily frowned, stepping closer when she realized it wasn't Josh or Sue. It was a man carrying a large bouquet of white flowers that was obscuring his face- but Abby knew from the lower half of the man's body that it wasn't Josh...but she was getting deja vu.
The flowers shifted, exposing the man's face.
"Tommy!" Abby exhaled happily and in shock. Pushing past Buck to let the other man in and accept a side hug.
"There's my Abby." It felt all too familiar to be hugged by her ex. Tommy and her weren't together for that long before he came out to her. She was understanding, surprised, but understanding.
He had sworn up and down to her that he cared about her genuinely and that he wasn't using her- to some extent. But the more he spent time with her the more he knew he was just lying to himself.
She should have been upset but Tommy was always kind to her when they were dating and understanding about the fact that her mom came first.
Truth be told, they dated but they didn't spend a lot of time together and Tommy never pushed her about it.
Which made sense in the long run.
"I'm so sorry about Patricia." Tommy told her, his voice sincere, "i wanted to come to the funeral but couldn't find someone to cover my shift." He presented her with the flowers, "Thought to come here to show my respects while dropping these off."
Her brother stepped up first to grab the flowers, shifting it to one side as he stuck out his hand to shake Tommy's. "Hi, I'm Matthew." He lifted the flowers, "These are lovely, I'm sure our mother would have loved them."
Abby felt her eyes sting a bit but she pushed on, "Oh and this is Carla."
Carla gave her a sly look but said nothing as she shook Tommy's hand. "It's nice to meet you. I heard a lot about you."
Tommy paused, looking reproachful momentarily. "Ah, good things, I hope?"
Carla smiled brightly, waving her hand playfully as she told him "Of course!"
Carla didn't move just watching with a curious expression as Abby started to ask how Tommy how he was doing. Before Tommy could get into the weeds about his life, Carla cleared her throat getting the attention of Abby and Tommy.
"Isn't there someone else you might want to introduce Tommy to?" She asked Abby with raised brows and a head tilt.
Abby frowned, looking genuinely confused about who else was left till she noticed where Carla was tilting her head to.
She saw Buck standing by the door still, looking not upset or jealous as Carla might have expected.
But in awe?
Probably in awe at how he could be forgotten like that by Abby.
"Oh, Buck!" Abby gave out a self-deprecating laugh as she ushered Buck over.
Carla was not a betting woman.
But working with people for as long as she has made Carla confident in her ability to read people.
Granted, she didn't know much about Tommy except he was younger than Abby (older than Buck, clearly) and that their break up was amicable.
She thought he was a good looking guy, brown hair and blue eyes. Abby clearly had a type since Tommy was as tall as Buck, buffer slightly (what did he do for work?) And they both styled their hair similarly. Not to mention, Tommy's eyes were blue too, darker in color and sadder somehow.
She would have figured Tommy and or Buck would be a bit possessive or jealous about Abby.
But she oddly wasn't getting that vibe.
"Tommy, this is Evan Buckley, but you can call him Buck." Abby said cheerfully.
It was like watching....something unfold.
She could see Tommy’s eyes light up, a hint of a smile pulling up at the corners of his lips as he shook Buck's hand. "It's nice to meet you Evan."
Buck looked oddly...star struck?
She quirked her head to the side as she noticed Buck dry swallow, "Y-You can call me Evan."
Tommy's chuckle had Buck turning pink all over, making his birthmark seem even redder as Tommy told him. "I just did."
Matthew sided up to her, watching their introduction seemed as perplexing to him as it was to her.
"Right." Buck laughed as he took his hand back, "Right." Carla didn't miss how Buck wiped his palm on the side of his pants, the flush only deepening when Tommy asked, "I take it you're part of the family?"
Abby laughed this time, "No,no, Buck's not related. We're-" she took a deep breath as she grabbed the hand that Buck had used to shake Tommy's hand. "Dating."
"Oh."
Carla felt Mathew bump his shoulder into hers. There was no way Abby didn't see the look of disappointment on Tommy's face there.
"Is that okay?" Abby asked, unsure but knowing in a way that made Carla a little concerned.
"Of course." Tommy seemed quick to fix his face, standing up straighter as his eyes lingered on Buck in a too quick moment that Carla barely caught. "Of course." He said firmly, this time with a smile and patting Abby's arm supportively. "I'm glad you have so many people to support you. It's nice when you have family that has your back."
There definitely was a story there.
Carla didn't miss those sad eyes getting sadder.
And neither did Buck.
"I'm sure Abby is glad to have your support too. I don't know of a lot of exes that would send their ex flowers." Buck gave Tommy a smile that lit up his face, almost as though he was impressed by the guy. "You really go all in, huh." He laughed in good humor, causing Tommy to look down with a small smile of his own.
He almost looked like he was blushing himself.
"I'm not a great ex or anything, I just wanted to check in on Abby."
Buck shrugged, still looking at Tommy in awe. "Still better than any of my exes."
"Tommy is a special ex." Abby declared, running her hand up and down Tommy's arm.
(Yeah, Carla didn't miss Tommy wincing there and looking at Buck)
"You are a sweetheart, you know that right?" Abby asked, not giving Tommy time enough to react or answer before going, "Hey! You know, this is perfect timing because Buck here is a firefighter too."
Buck and Tommy were taken back by that. "You're a firefighter too?" Buck asked excitedly.
Tommy shrugged, seemingly playing coy as he replied "Firefighter pilot really."
Buck's eyes lit up with even more excitement, "No way! That's so cool! You're like a superhero or something."
That had Tommy rubbing the back of his neck in clear discomfort, "Or something." He muttered, but that didn't Buck from asking a bunch of questions about being a firefighter pilot.
Carla thought it was sweet that Tommy and Buck were getting along, clearly Buck had taken a liking to Tommy quickly.
Quick enough that Abby was looking annoyed now.
"Buck." Abby cleared her throat, throwing an apologetic look towards Tommy. "I'm sure Tommy has better things to do on his off day than talk about work."
Before Buck has the chance to become disappointed at that Tommy shook his head, all smiles as he told Buck. "Actually I really don't have anything better to do." He finally looked around the room, noticing the boxes and stacks of Patricia's belongings. "But I can see you guys do." He gave Abby a sheepish smile, "I didn't mean to over step."
"No, no." Abby waved him off, "You didn't, it was nice. It really means a lot that you showed up...it's just-"
"I know. I should get out of your hair." Tommy and Abby shared a small smile and laugh, clearly it was a inside joke. He nodded towards Carla and Matthew, "It was nice meeting you two." He turned to Buck, his smile a hit different. Carla could see something there. Even the way Tommy held himself was different when he spoke to Buck. "It was really nice meeting you too, Evan." He stuck out his hand for Buck to shake.
"Yeah- yeah. Y-you too." Buck fumbled, earning a playful smile from Tommy.
Before the latter opened the door, Buck suddenly went, "I should get your number."
Carla needed popcorn for this now.
Tommy looked at him questioningly, a confused but ghost of a smile there as he looked towards Buck for clarification.
Buck could feel all eyes on him now, he looked at Abby and then at Carla and Matthew before turning to look at Tommy again. "Y’know...for firefighting... stuff." He stammered, he shook his head and held his chin higher, a bit proud of himself as he told Tommy "I'm a probie so it would be great to talk to you. Maybe get some pointers?"
Tommy shook his head as he laughed, head tilted up and eyes finally bright as he told Buck. "Of course." And pulled out his cellphone as Buck did the same.
"I'll call you? Maybe we can set up a time for your to tour the harbor?"
Buck sighed in relief, his smile matching Tommy's as he told him "I would love that."
Tommy nodded , patting Buck's arm as the other man held his wrist momentarily. "We'll talk soon then Evan. Bye."
"Bye Tommy."
Once Tommy was out and the door was closed, Buck was right back at Abbys side. "Tommy seems so cool!"
"Yeah, he is." Abby confirmed, not looking bothered at all that her current boyfriend and ex were chummy now. "I'm glad you two seem to like each other."
"What's not to like? Tommy seems really interesting." Buck looked back at the door, his eyes falling back to the boxes. "Was there anything else in your room that belonged to your mom that you wanted me to move?"
While Abby gave Buck a list of things to grab, Matthew could only ask Carla "Is he always like that with people?" Referring to Buck
Carla shook her head "No." Granted, she didn't know Buck for too long but Buck always struck her as the jealous and insecure type when it came to Abby.
But he seemed opened and even excited about Tommy.
Even before knowing that Tommy was a firefighter too.
(Abby really had a type.)
"Guess Tommy is just so cool." Carla joked, realizing the joke fell flat as Matthew still looked at Buck with a studious expression. "What? What do you think it is?" She asked.
Matthew became all smiles and coy himself, "I don't know yet."

Okay, so I just finished The Fall of the House of Usher and I have a theory.
*SPOILERS if you haven't finished the show *
So, I was wondering why Verna chooses the moment she does to start killing off the kids. At first, I figured it had something to do with Roderick's diagnosis indicating that his death was imminent, but that still didn't mean Verna necessarily had to start right at that moment.
I think the reason the kids' deaths started when they did is because Perry was going to die anyway. With all the other deaths, Verna intervenes in ways that causes them to happen. However, when it comes to Perry's death it seems like that would have still happened even if the Ushers had lived in an alternate universe with no Verna. In fact, Verna only shows up to warn Perry and give him a chance to stop the entire thing. As far as I can remember (and correct me if I'm wrong; I have issues with face blindness so Carla Cugino switching wigs was confusing for me during the first two episodes), we don't see her interact with Perry before she shows up to the party. That party was doomed before she even stepped foot into the building without any manipulation from her.
So essentially, I think Prospero's death was a natural one (in that it would have happened with or without Verna) caused directly through Roderick and Fortunato's recklessness and evasion of consequences. If they had done the right thing and disposed of the waste properly (or weren't supernaturally protected from legal action and forced to dispose of their waste properly), Perry never would have died. But Perry's death was a natural consequence of the deal, one that happened without any supernatural intervention.
Since Perry was already going to die, and the rest of the bargain was already fulfilled, that's why Verna decided to strike when she did, allowing Perry's death to play out and then actively intervening with the other children.
Idk, this might be really obvious, but I think it's interesting to think about!
