Well, because they’re human beings who have been held by a terrorist group away from their families for over a year, and from survivor testimonies, have been subjected to unimaginable treatment, including torture, repeated sexual abuse, and forced labour.

The better question is “why DON’T you care?” The fact that the world at large can’t seem to muster an ounce of compassion or care about these people, which includes Holocaust survivors and infants, is an absolute travesty and a very clear indication of just how unimportant and disposable Jewish lives are viewed.
