You wouldn’t have told them since you didn’t want to worry them, and it wasn’t their fight in your opinion. Billy and Stu decide that they have to pull out the masks once more, seems they have a couple of horrible people to get rid of for mistreating you.

one of the smaller leaked details from the teraleak about plza got me thinking about what i'd like to see in terms of shiny hunting mechanics, and i ended up going down a rabbit hole and ranking the games by how much i enjoy shiny hunting in them (roughly ordered within tiers):

reasonings beneath the break, i've got a LOT of thoughts to infodump:

SM/USUM: sos chaining is my absolute favorite shiny hunting method. there's a really fun element of preparation to it that i think most other methods lack - researching your target pokemon, looking for any recoil or status move that may be an issue, figuring out how to plan around it, etc. it's a fun planning game that can easily make individual hunts much more memorable than simply “wow this one was so quick/long” when you see your plans come to fruition. usum improved it even further with some small mechanical tweaks, plus an expanded dex to hunt through. also in usum is the ultra warp ride. the wormhole shinies are honestly so easy that their allure wears off super quick, but the actual minigame attached to them is pretty fun. that said, the real star of the uwr are the legendaries and ultra beasts, all available through soft resetting. i love soft resetting for mostly the same reasons as sos chaining: you've got one chance to catch this legendary, so you better go in with a solid game plan and make it count once you finally see those sparkles. or if you want a different sort of challenge, you can always go for one of the gift pokemon instead: poipole, type:null, and ash cap pikachu. no battle required, but no shiny charm, either, with the added clout value that their shinies haven’t been available since. alola was my gateway to shiny hunting, but even trying to account for nostalgia, i still think it has some of the most engaging hunts to this day.

XY: i feel like kalos is really overlooked nowadays when it comes to shiny hunting, but it’s one of my absolute favorites. friend safari is always one of the first things that comes to mind whenever i think about shiny hunting. it’s a really cool community-driven shiny hunting experience. i spent so much time just exchanging friend codes to find the shines i needed, and i was always able to find a thriving friend safari community all the way up through swsh’s lifespan until i finally caught every possible shiny i could from it (i wonder how they’re doing now that the 3ds servers are shut down?). this is also the best region for fossil resets - most of the fossil are readily available in large quantities, so you can stock up as much as you'd like and revive them all at once to see if any surprises pop out at you. between friend safari, fossil resets, and horde hunting, xy has a lot of good mindless shiny hunts. a lot of the time, shiny hunting is just something for me to do with my hands while i’m bored, and xy excels at that. oh yeah, there’s also pokeradar in this one, too. i could never quite figure out how to work it.

SWSH: swsh gets massive bonus points for being the only game where masuda hunting is actually fun tbh. the fact that zl can be used as a replacement for the a button means that you can just gather up eggs one-handed at the route 5 nursery, then you can use the 3d camera in the wild area to easily spin in circles to hatch them without even needing to return to a pc box every five minutes like before. as for the rest of the shiny stuff in this game… the intended shiny hunting method is laughably pointless and dynamax adventures, while a neat concept, are only fun if you actually have friends to play it with. otherwise, you’re stuck dealing with either braindead npcs or even more braindead randoms. like i said before, i love planning out big hunts, but in dynamax adventures, so much of it is out of your control that it’s just completely unfun to me (at least we got the regis and swords of justice huntable through run aways. those are some really fun hunts as a consolation prize). honestly, i’m definitely placing these games several spots higher than they probably should be, but sword is possibly my most played game ever due to the sheer amount of masuda breeding i’ve done in it, so that has to count for something.

GSC: okay i know these are a curveball compared to everything else on the list. when these games came to the 3ds virtual console, i did some rby glitching to get a shiny ditto into them and honestly? probably my second favorite game in terms of breeding after swsh. because shininess is determined by ivs in these games, a shiny ditto parent gives every child a flat 1/64 shiny rate, balanced by the fact that the oval charm and flame body don’t exist yet. what you end up with is a situation where you get eggs much more slowly, but with hunt times still comparable to modern-day masuda hunting, and i personally found something about this arrangement really satisfying. every egg has so much more build-up to it, and so despite the slower pace, it somehow still felt more consistently exciting than perhaps any other shiny hunting method. crystal has some additional shiny fun with the odd egg if you feel like doing a bit of save manipulation with it (plus obligatory shiny celebi comment).

PLA: i know this is a very niche and odd opinion to have, but pla handles loading pokemon into the overworld better than any other game with overworld pokemon. the format of having distinct separate regions that you can load and unload at will, with pokemon (even those not yet spawned) being preset at the moment of loading and persisting until being forcibly unloaded, is something that i truly hope carries forward into future entries. it creates a world that feels much more natural, and yet is also highly exploitable on a gameplay level. resetting the regions until you find an outbreak, and then traveling to that outbreak to search for shinies, is a compelling gameplay loop that implements very video game-y elements in a way that i particularly enjoy. the differentiation between mass outbreaks and massive mass outbreaks also adds a fun trade-off into the mix: do you target a specific pokemon at lower odds or do you go for a grab bag of random pokemon at higher odds? i do have one big complaint, however, and it’s gonna sound kinda insane. it is nearly impossible to actually fail a shiny in this game. they persist through saves, they don’t respawn when you run, they even give off a distinct jingle when they’re in your vicinity. if there is a shiny near you, you are gonna find it, and you are probably gonna catch it. and personally… i don’t really care for this arrangement. the risk of failure is an integral part of shiny hunting. making it too safe makes the accomplishment feel a bit more hollow to me. i wish there was a way to disable the shiny sound. i feel like if they weren’t so blatantly telegraphed and were still a bit harder to find in the first place, it would balance out the safety nets the game gives you somewhat.

LGPE: i feel like i’ve come to appreciate lgpe a lot more as time has gone on. the catch combo system is a nice simple numbers game - just keep catching the same pokemon and shiny odds go up. simple, elegant, satisfying. the big drawback is the fact that the motion controls are uuuhh. less than ideal. but it’s easy enough to build a combo back up that it doesn’t usually feel like too big of a setback if something goes wrong. also the fact that you can use the in-game trading mechanics to hunt the alola variants is pretty nifty! i should get back in and try one of those hunts sometime.

BDSP: after not being able to get into pokeradar hunting in xy or the original dp, i was pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable i found it in bdsp. it has a really good sense of risk and reward as you try to map out the safest path you can, which makes it super gratifying when your skills and luck are good enough to bring your chain all the way up to 40. honestly, the fact that the shiny charm doesn’t work in this game is a complete nonissue for me, because the pokeradar doesn’t even need it. of course, this game also has the added fun of not shiny locking anything except some tie-in bonuses. you can shiny hunt any legendary from the first four generations, and you can even go for the sinnoh mythicals as well (the event to get their items is over now, but i believe it’s still possible to glitch your way to them anyway).

SV: sparkling sandwiches are probably the shiny hunting mechanic i’m most split on. once again, there’s a really good strategic element to it that i enjoy: trying to figure out where on the map you can locate your target pokemon with as little type overlap in the surrounding area as possible, and then once you’ve begun your hunt, finding the best path to spawn them in as quickly as possible. on the other hand, however, probably my biggest hot take of sv is that the sandwiches bump the shiny rate up way too high. in my first shiny hunting excursion of the game, i found five shinies in the span of two sandwiches, and as a whole, that’s been more the norm than an exception. most shiny hunts in this game are over so quickly that i don’t feel all that rewarded for accomplishing them. the process of acquiring herba mystica is a good bottleneck keeping it from spiraling entirely out of control, but it feels so distinct from the actual shiny hunting process that it doesn’t help alleviate those feelings for me.

ORAS: i don’t hate shiny hunting in oras or anything, but i don’t think it does anything exceptionally well, either. horde hunting is just as fun as it is in xy, although it’s fairly easy to exhaust the catalogue of huntable pokemon in both games. soft resetting legendaries is here, although for some of them, they require lengthy trips to the encounter point each time and you’re better off sticking with usum or even bdsp instead if you wanna hunt them. the standout is dexnav - frankly, i’ve warmed up to it a lot over the years, but i think it’s still the roughest chaining mechanic. the search function is simple to understand, and the mirage spots and hidden pokemon inject a bunch of new encounters to hunt for. that said, i think the sneaking aspect of it never feels quite right with a 3ds circle pad, and having to constantly swap between battles and sneaking means that it’s hard to stay in a groove. i don’t mind dexnav, but it’s rarely my first choice.

They have the strongest tie to Jetti, which they absolutely wish they could break but they can’t - she’s violently abusive towards them and has beaten them near death before but she’s the only source of the medication that keeps them alive. They also develop a very strong bond with Merry, which is a lot better for them

Tatum is haunted by the horrible things they’ve been forced to do. Jetti uses them to mete out punishments and sink ships and they blame themself for it

Honestly I think the only thing they’re proud of is their magic - they’re the most powerful tidemage in the world. They don’t like to be showy with it but Jetti makes them. They will use it to keep from getting rained on though :)

Tatum and their parents haven’t spoken in 20 years because their family was dismissive of their illness and the abuse they were suffering. They do learn they have a brother later in the story who’s dying of the same cancer that nearly killed them and they become fiercely protective of him

Honestly Tatum has immense disdain for themself. They hate themself and what they’ve done and they struggle to think of themself as anything but a monster

Tatum has complex opinions on authority. They’ve been frequently exploited by authority figures but they find it easier when someone is directing them, so while they like having an authority they’re picky about who it is

Tatum hasn’t had the passion to be fascinated by anything in years. Back when they did, they were fascinated by the pirate culture. It was so different from what they were used to

Honestly? They struggle with getting out of bed and other mobility issues. Tatum has debilitating chronic pain. People on the Drowned Gull are too scared of them to harass them, but some people do after they escape

Tatum honestly isn’t working on their goals very much. They feel too defeated, like there’s absolutely nothing they can do to help themself

They’re most well-known for being Jetti’s violent, impassive lackey who doesn’t care about anyone. It’s not true at all - Tatum is scared and goes along with Jetti even though it kills them inside because they would die if they didn’t - but they do give off that impression

At first, Tatum isn’t devoted to anything. When they meet their brother, Apatli, they develop a fierce devotion to him

They don’t have a ton of hobbies. They like reading and I imagine they pick up some old Sun Empire handcrafts when they start trying to reconnect with their heritage

I’m not sure what legacy they’ll leave behind, probably the stories of the person who could sink ships with a glare. They’re okay with a quiet life but I think they’d be a bit sad if people feared them after their death

Tatum doesn’t care about winning competitions. There isn’t a competitive bone left in their body

Tatum is motivated first and foremost by wanting to stay alive. Once that’s no longer a daily fight, they’re quite lost and end up searching for purpose, which they eventually find in caring for their brother and working on the Sea Star

They’re very bad at being caring towards people, so people who are struggling usually find them cold and unsympathetic. They care a lot and will try to help (like how they tried to shield Merry on the Drowned Gull), but they’re very bad at showing it

Working for Jetti is a circumstance Tatum doesn’t want to be in, but they’re forced to. They do as they’re told, even though it eats at their soul

There have been a lot of big changes in Tatum’s life. Probably running away from the Sun Empire and the angel incident were the two big ones. The Sun Empire escape went pretty well, all things considered (those things being that they’re a traitor now). The angel incident (which involved them being kidnapped by a stranger who attempted to transform them into an angel - it’s a whole other story I won’t go into on this post, but I’m happy to elaborate if people want to hear) got people pretty worried because they vanished and then came back with vestigial wings needing emergency surgery. The people who weren’t immediately there, though, mostly just wondered why they were taller now

In the Sun Empire, Tatum’s desertion would be highly disapproved of. Among the pirates, the disapproval mostly comes from the fact that they worked for Jetti who… uh… isn’t popular

Tatum used to have principles about right and wrong and spent ten years with a woman who cruelly broke them down. They’re trying to find principles to live by that don’t drown them in guilt for what they’ve done

The biggest sacrifice Tatum has made was giving up their morals to keep themself alive. They regret it every day. They’d do it again if they had to

I am thinking incredibly hard about ancient secrets! Shadow and him pretending to be an organic person who breathes and is harmed by fire and can’t contort his body in ways that would absolutely be painful for anyone else. I haven’t read pt 3 of shrodinger’s hedgehog in a while before writing this so please forgive me if I mention stuff that’s noncanon lmao- I remember that he was raised like a normal person so maybe all the stuff I’m gonna mention is habit by now. I dunno.

First of all, I just wanted to briefly say how utterly delighted I am that even one person has Ancient Secrets on the brain at all. I’m so happy you’re enjoying it!!

As for Shadow, he absolutely does have to pretend about a lot of that stuff…which is an extremely helpful but unintentional (on his part) bonus of living alone in the woods in a cave! (Also, you haven’t mentioned anything non-canon at all—actually, I didn’t want to infodump too much about Shadow’s schematics in the fic because I was worried it would bore some people, but I’m totally going to take the chance to do it now :] )

By the way, I love the title “actlikeanormalperson.exe”, it’s just perfect both for Boom and Shadow XD I’ve actually only previously considered two out of these six, the others I hadn’t thought of (I was focusing more on “how can I make his body mimic an organic one as closely as possible” than what the differences were, so hopefully my answers will be good enough!)

-I didn’t even think about him blinking, but you’re so right! He does do it in the show, and it looks very natural, so I’m torn 50/50 between “he has an actual program for that” and “when he was little he saw Luna blinking and then practiced it in the mirror for days”, haha.

-as for breathing, that actually is something he does naturally, but not for the reasons organic creatures do! He circulates air to keep his electronics from overheating, because while the Ancients were very technologically advanced, they weren’t perfect (see Sonic’s mech for an excellent example). Luna wanted him to be able to live a life as close to organic as possible, so she tried to find reasons to give him various “living” behaviors. This does mean that she gave him coding for things like hyperventilating when having a panic attack too, though, even if she hoped he’d never have to use it.

-oh he would ABSOLUTELY forget to move sometimes. I feel like he probably learned to do this one while he was fighting Lyric in the defense forces, because people would give him weird looks when he just sat there not doing anything and going over battle plans in his head. Once again, I totally didn’t consider this, but honestly it’s such a good idea!!

-“touching something commonly considered harmful” is a tough one, because he’s had enough self-sacrificial moments that have impacted him to the point where he actively puts himself between harmful things like fire or poison and organic people. If asked about it he’d probably just brush it off and say something like “well, that seems like a you problem” prior to his friendship arc. The thing is, he acts like many people’s interpretations of game!Shadow where he does things that make his Ultimate status obvious but then treats them as things he’s obligated to do.

-luckily for him, he doesn’t have to think of joint limits very often, since most of his interactions with other people have involved fighting (which isn’t designed for people who can rotate their arms and legs 360 degrees, haha). It’s not really something he does much because he hasn’t seen organic people model that kind of behavior—although he did do it a couple of times when he was young and startled Luna, so he has a bit of a “hey maybe I shouldn’t reach over and backwards to pick something up from the counter behind me” reminder in the back of his head XD

-and as for food, eating it actually does give him energy! It isn’t needed to power his body, per se, since the crystal inside him can run indefinitely so long as it isn’t damaged, but he can absorb the Chaos energy from it and it’ll give him a little boost. He can work just fine without food, but he works even better with it. Of course, he doesn’t care what other people think (or he didn’t, rather), and he couldn’t be bothered with food, so he’s eaten very infrequently prior to spending time with his friends. Now, though, he usually gets an average of about one meal every 1-2 days, but his friends don’t know that he eats so little. If they did, they’d probably be trying to get him to eat more often.

Unmasking autistic sexuality

I think one universal experience of being autistic is having your autism stigmatized. Cringe, being the most common expression. Having special interests, stimming, being socially awkward around neurotypicals, and talking nonstop about things can make you a target, so it’s very easy to internalize that you are a burden unless you learn how to mask.

Masking burns you out, though. There’s countless autistics who have masked through their teenage years and 20s only to hit a serious burnout or mental health crisis in their late 20s, having fully exhausted themselves masking constantly. So, the idea of Unmasking came about, largely popularized by the book Unmasking Autism by Devon Price. But this book doesn’t talk about unmasking sexually, which is part of the inspiration for this blog.

So, what does unmasking sexually mean? At it’s core, it means the same thing that unmasking in general means, acknowledging that there’s a lot of norms you’ve been following for no good reason that don’t work for you. It’s realizing what parts of your life are authentically autistic and work well for you, and leaning into that. It means just exploring what feels good and works for you, hopefully with the help and guidance of other autistics, or a supportive partner who is willing to help you during this journey.

This can mean realizing that you haven’t been able to have sex sober for a long time, because it was so overwhelming, and you want to work on slower sex. This might be acknowledging that you don’t like oral, and verbalizing it. It might be increasing the amount you masturbate to 3 times a day, but acknowledging you might not come and that’s ok. It might be really diving into some weird porn. It might be realizing that you like the taste of your own fluids and cleaning your hands with your mouth after masturbating. It might be asking that your partner brush their teeth and wash their hands before touching you. It might mean looking at getting other partners or friends with benefits who can help you with your needs. It might mean having more sex, more scheduled sex, less sex, weirder sex, or more exactly the same sex. It might mean you masturbate idly all the time while at home, and letting your partner know it’s just how you stim. It might be diving into sexual special interests and communities and creating content for them. There’s all kinds of amazing things to do as you sexually unmask, while also being wary of safety- there’s a lot of people in certain communities who will target autistics.

I know that unmasking for me has been amazing. I’ve found other autistics online who are very open about their sexuality, and have been really helpful in helping me normalize my own autistic traits socially. And there’s been so much joy in realizing I’m not alone, and being able to just... Share things. Share what makes us happy. Acknowledge that ambient masturbation is totally a thing. Being open to infodumping about fetishes. Being absolutely understanding of boundaries and hard nos. It’s helped me feel more comfortable with my own body, my own genitals, my own sexual habits, and the way I have sex, than ever before. Being able to unmask sexually has been a critical component to my personal unmasking, and I think it’s essential for any autistic who is in the process of unmasking, to commit to. Because you can’t become a fully actualized person if you’re neglecting your sexual self.

So I realized, I can't imagine what a healthy relationship of any type would look like because virtually everything people do reads as 'lying' to me. Part of that is that I've caught people in a lie and learned 'when people do X, they're lying'. And part is that things just don't make sense. The former might be lack of empathy. Like, I can't tell the difference between fake approval and real approval, so all approval is fake. The latter is just my thing, being different, but that affects every issue. Like, I think the problem isn't even that I can't figure out what a 'friend' is or whatever, the problem is that the whole concept is incompatible with me.

I think it's like recipes. Far as I can tell, the way most people cook is to just follow rote scripts. The learn a repertoire of 'dishes' which they then 'know' how to make. And while having recipes on hand is useful for reference, that isn't how I think at all. I don't learn how to make chocolate chip cookies, I learn cookies as a concept and a formula by which I can make a range of different cookies. For instance, the other day I worked out ice cream should roughly be 1:2:3 parts sugar/milk/cream by weight. But the people around me can't understand that unless I give it to them in cups and pints and for exactly their size of ice cream maker. Which, really isn't understanding it at all.

So 'friend' I think is a recipe of a relationship. Like when people invoke that word there's a rote set of broad things to be done or not and in a certain way. Knowing people the specifics might be nebulous, and to some extent people might be doing the neurotypical thing of 'you're supposed to do this, but you have to do it in a normal way and not a weird way'. And I know from experience that a lot of relationship stuff seems totally fucked to me. For instance, people talking about partners using possessive language has always rubbed me the wrong way, kinks aside. So I think any sort of relationship that makes sense to me would have to be an agreement of doing or avoiding specific things with a person. So like, maybe someone only wants to cuddle and play video games, and they should be able to do that without being shackled with further expectations. Or maybe someone wants to infodump about philosophy while having gay sex, and you could do that, or you could compromise and maybe save the sex for later, or you could just not do that. And those are all valid relationships. Aside from the last one, which would be not a relationship.

Anyway, I think this has resolved my issue of feeling bad for finding people attractive. Ostensibly, if they're dressing in a revealing way in a public way then they've implicitly consented to people liking how that looks. Not that people should need consent when they aren't actually interacting. But really the issue is that I was taught feeling that way is evil and haven't had anything to supersede that before.

I should be able to start imagining what hanging out with someone would hypothetically be like. Although I guess I also need to figure out what sort of things I'd do by myself before I can figure out how I'd do things with others. And I wish I could be learning someone else's perspective, but that just doesn't work.

2) I was planning on having it take place after Jason’s death, even though I haven’t actually read up to that bit yet. I think Leo’s survivor’s guilt from being the one brought back and not him would DEFINITELY play into the angst and the PTSD. I was thinking similar along the lines of what you said about them both struggling- I wan thinking of having some Leo/Hazel bonding moments over both the choice to give up their lives and dealing with being given a second chance. Leo and Hazel’s friendship is not talked about enough, and I think her being able to help him as someone who’s been there is so powerful. Also, Frank is there to comfort him as well. ALSO YES PHYSICAL SCARRING IS GONNA BE A BIG THING!! I am OBSESSED with the hc of Leo being Hard of Hearing after the explosion. Specifically deaf in one ear and chronic tinnitus in the other. I’ve been writing it into all my post-hoo fics (In my married Valgrace ones, Leo uses a hearing aid and also Jason and him both know ASL and morse code to communicate sometimes). I think for this fic prosthetics might be a little detracting from the main theme, because it’s all about Leo trying to hide how he’s struggling, but scars DEFINITELY and also hearing loss. I’m writing amputee/lost limb Leo into some other fics though.

5) YES YES YES I was gonna write this fic as a precursor to my “Jason comes out to CJ” fic. I like the whole “expectations of him as a Praetor to uphold Roman Values” as sort of a homophobia metaphor, and Jason being able to be a bit more relaxed at chb and with Leo where he can just get away from all the expectations to be the perfect Roman sort of being an extension to his canon arc. I might have to wait until I read TSATS to finish it though, because I want to learn more about Piper’s gf.

7-8-9) PUTTING THEM ALL AS THE SAME FIC WOULD BE GENIUS- it might be a bit clunky because of time skips and tone shifts but if I could make it work… Yh honestly the “Jason taking Leo’s last name” hc is JUST SO CUTE I WAS THINKING ABOUT IT ALL DAY AFTER I WROTE IT I COULD NOT FOCUS ON ANYTHING ELSE JUST AAAAHHHH. I am not normal about them.

12) THIS IS SO GOOD and def inspired me to keep writing it. YES Leo latches onto Luke’s idea of blaming Hephaestus bc he doesn’t want to admit that he secretly blames himself, but deep down he doesn’t believe Luke. It’s so interesting to explore Luke’s manipulation from Luke’s side. Because he is genuinely angry at the Gods for abandoning Leo- he really does have sympathy for this kid and wants to bring the Gods to justice for all the damage they caused Leo, Annabeth, his Mom, all the people he loves. But he’s also not got a very healthy outlet for his anger, but kinda uses Leo’s trauma to justify that. He doesn’t have plans to overthrow the Gods yet, but he feels like he needs to convince people to see his way of thinking so that he doesn’t feel wrong for being angry.

The way I was writing this fic was multiple POVs- Thalia, Luke, Annabeth and Leo’s, so I could explore both Luke’s desperation to justify his anger, and Leo’s willingness to accept a person to blame, plus Thalia’s fear from having to keep these two 9-10 year olds safe (in my fic Annabeth ran away a bit later/for a bit longer, so she’s 10 by this point and Leo has already been on the run for a year), while Luke is spouting his bullshit and she just wants to keep her new family from falling apart like her old one did. And Luke’s promise of family being the thing Annabeth clings onto for dear life, relating to Leo who was also cast out by his blood relatives, secretly knowing that Luke has issues and is manipulating her but trying to convince Leo that “he’s here to look after us. He’s just trying to protect us” to brush off the bad feelings she gets from him and justify his actions because he’s her whole world. And maybe having to convince Leo of that too, saying it out loud, or seeing Luke doing the manipulation to somebody else, might make her actually have to confront the fact that Luke’s way of thinking is wrong.

Leo joining the wrong side and realising later is so interesting, seeing as he HAS been manipulated his whole life- by Hera and Gaea- leaving him with pretty bad trust issues. Luke being the only person who treated him decently since escaping the foster homes would mean he gets attached pretty quickly, and his own self-hatred being something that drives him to not really care if he’s a good person or not (similar to my Leo Villain Arc AU I published a couple weeks ago).

And in terms of turning him back I just had a thought when you talked about him meeting Percy-

BECKENDORF’S SACRIFICE?

Like imagine you’re part of the Titan army, trying to overthrow your dad for abandoning you to starve on the streets, and your brother just gave his life to stop you because he genuinely believed these omnipotent assholes are worth fighting for. Maybe that makes Leo more angry, seeing as how Hephaestus let it happen. But maybe it makes him realise that he’s on the wrong side.

OOH! OOH! I JUST HAD ANOTHER THOUGHT- What if Beckendorf actually confronted Leo about it in the moments of before his death on the Princess Andromeda, asks him to come home, and that Hephaestus didn’t abandon them because he gave them a family and a cabin at chb- it was always there, waiting for Leo. He didn’t intervene when he was being cast out because he knew that eventually Leo WOULD find his family- his brothers and sisters- and that he’d be alright in the end. “It’s not flawless dad logic, but he had the best intentions,” Beckendorf says, “Come home, lil’ bro. We miss you.” And then he fucking explodes.

1. Ok not too many spoilers for this one but it’s SUPER angsty. All I can say is Leo faces a very creative punishment from Nemesis for cheating the prophecy and coming back to life, and it’s called “The only sad person in paradise” (undertones of Valgrace).

2. Leo deals with coping with the trauma of dying. LOT of angsty headcanons, including one where the design for the chb bead for the summer hoo is set in was the moment of Leo’s death. And he just has to keep that around his neck the whole time, and it’s chocking him. The opening line is “Every so often, Leo needed to remind himself that his heart was still beating.”

3. A curse befalls camp half-blood that’s slowly reversing the effects of their powers. Hecate cabin’s spells are being undone, plants are un-growing, arms healed by Apollo cabin are re-breaking. Magic is being unwound, and then Leo’s body starts to ache, and he realises… does that include a certain Physician’s Cure?

Category 2- VALGRACE

4. Platonic Valgrace (Romance implied)- “Never go to bed angry”- Leo and Jason have an argument on the Argo II. Jason thinks Leo won’t understand him because he’s never had to live up to the expectations of leadership that come with being a child soldier. Leo thinks Jason won’t understand him because he’s never had to fend for himself, he believes everything Jason has is because of who his father is. They storm off (Jason in the literal sense), argue with themselves for a bit- I did a really cool thing where I switch POVs every line or so, as their arguments parallel each other, like in a TV show where two characters are rehearsing a conversation with the other, but using the HOO multiple-POV thing- and then they go to sleep. They both have weird vision/flashbacks/prophetic dreams, where they experience a day in the other’s childhood. They then realise they completely misunderstood one another, and they’re not as different as they thought.

5. Jason and Leo go to New York pride. That’s the whole fic.

6. Instead of… whatever that ending to BOO was, the Gods reward Leo for his sacrifice by bringing Esperanza Valdez back to life. She thanks Jason for taking care of Leo while she was gone, and they have a heart-to-heart. They are officially boyfriends in this. Jason keeps being reminded of his own reunion with Thalia, and how Leo had stayed with him through that. He vows to do the same.

Category 3- MARRIED VALGRACE:

7. Leo and Jason get married (A classic “Wedding Episode”)

8. Just a fic describing married life with Leo and Jason- it’s called “Violets and Marigolds”

9. A fic from the POV of Leo and Jason’s kid, Isabella Valdez. Some angst, but I don’t have the full plot outlined yet. She’s adopted, and they don’t know her true godly heritage, and Leo suspects she might be mortal, and maybe Lupa made a mistake. Leo and Jason argue over whether she should join the Legion (They’re living in New Rome). Leo struggles with his fear of hurting the people he loves with his powers.

Category 4- MISCELLANEOUS:

10. Platonic Perleo- Percy and Leo get captured by government agents and have to escape Area 51 (Vaguely inspired by an episode of Helluva Boss)- VERY NERDY. This is a very fun one.

11. Leo talks to Hestia about… life, I guess. I started writing this while still on TLH and never found an ending, but it’s a good concept. Leo learns to accept his powers as something that can be good, when he only sees the bad. Hestia tells him “If fire was only about danger and destruction, then it would be the symbol of Ares, not Hephaestus.”

12. Thalia, Luke and Annabeth find little Leo while on the run. Leo and Annabeth bond over engineering. Luke tries to use Leo’s trauma as leverage to get Leo angry at the Gods. He tries to put the blame of Leo’s mom’s death on Hephaestus, since he’s responsible for giving Leo his powers. He points out how the Gods are all-powerful, and yet they leave the four of them- their own children- to starve on the streets. Leo in canon harbours a lot of resentment for his situation growing up, and Luke could easily spin that to justify his own anger.

A/N: I know I said I was going to finish up my M*rvel requests and then take a break – and if my current special interest in Doctor Who doesn’t last until after my uni deadline, I most likely still will – but god. Oh my fucking god. Working on my current project has been absolutely agonising so far, so I just really needed to make something like this. Enjoy!

The reader here is gender-neutral.

Content warnings: One mention of neglecting basic needs (eating and sleeping being specifically mentioned).

The Doctor is, admittedly, not great at this at first – but she most certainly is trying her best for you.

Her first instinct would be to take you away from the problem by swooping you up in the TARDIS and going somewhere nice, but she knows that this isn’t always the answer, especially considering how often you both inadvertently end up in life-threatening situations. That’s the last thing you need right now.

Since you know that she’ll have trouble otherwise, you’ve likely communicated with her the best ways to help you in various situations that make you feel overwhelmed.

Whether it’s caused by sensory stimuli, something happening in your life, mental health issues, or you’ve just woken up in a shoddy mood, you’ve made sure to give her an idea of what to do.

You’re more than welcome to stay in the TARDIS for as long as you need until you’ve cleared your head. The Doctor can get it to dim the lights, quieten its sound, and find you somewhere to be on your own, if it’ll help.

If it’s related to work or a project, this is likely where the suggestion to do something fun will come in, since she feels that taking some time away and coming back with a fresh mind might help.

While she doesn’t blame you at all for this, the Doctor will absolutely work to fix it, even if she has to carry you to your destination(s) herself. You think she’s bluffing about that last part, until she does indeed bridal carry you to bed, or give you a piggyback while finding you something to eat.

If you want her to talk to you about something to distract you, she’s perfect for the job. Once she finds a subject to talk about, she’ll happily infodump to you for ages.

Not only can she easily take your mind off of whatever’s been bothering you, but you also enjoy the sound of her voice when she’s talking to you about something she’s passionate about. She sounds happy.

Once you’ve managed to calm down and are able to talk about what happened, she really doesn’t know what to say in response most of the time, so she’s better for listening than for trying to comfort you verbally. To her credit, she is a good listener when she needs to be!

More often than not, confiding in her works better for getting your thoughts out so you, yourself, can find solutions to your problems.

Having her with you makes you feel secure enough to gather your thoughts more easily, and to feel more confident in your decisions.

The Doctor is relieved that, even if this isn’t her strong point, she can still be there for you when you need her. She wants her favourite human to be okay, after all!

Sooo the intro !! Bmo is one of the few immortal characters in the main cast and seeing them forgetting Finn’s name is just,,, sad,,, but bmo has gone through this plenty haven’t they ? We see this is the first distant lands episode ‘BMO’ although I won’t spoil it since I don’t think you’ve seen it yet.

Ofc we see Finn and Jake and everyone else,, I don’t have muchhh to say about the war stuff at least right now, 

“Nah, man, she's wrong. This is all wrong. Even if she wins now, this is never gonna end; I can feel it. It's like the whole world's going crazy, man, like we're living in, one, big...” obviously this relates to the whole war n stuff but I also feel like this connects to the whole them of this episode (and just at in general) with everything going on and on but still staying the same, Finn’s definitely gone through that type of stuff haven’t he ? Especially with the lich,,,

 “PB! He sees that you're serious! Maybe he'll back down now. Please listen to me! We've been friends for a long time” and PB getting reminded of Shoko from Finn this also 100% connects to that, they have been friends through even reincarnations, which is a long, long time (judging from the state of the candy kingdom and PBs bit more care free attitude I think the flashbacks in ‘the vault’ happen pretty early on) 

Jake is mostly just hanging out with jermaine in the nightmare realm lmao, although he did dig up Finn’s and ferns truama vault which is Important. 

Fern and Finn are dealing with their truama together in the nightmare realm, they have to work through their shared truama, and the grass demon that is connected to Fern, I loveeee analyzing fern so I’ll probably infodump to u ab him sometime if u would like lol. Finn hears PB voice again, this happens a lot in major parts of his life dosent it ? Breezy, hall of egress, and of course this episode. Fern and Finn kill the grass demon together.

PB and Gumbald are doing a fun (not fun for them tho LMAO) switch-aroo thingie, Gumbald experiences what it’s was like for PB almost get dum dum juiced and the stress that the candy kingdom puts on someone’s shoulders, while PB sees what it was like for Gumbald seeing his dream get built in front of him, ruled by PB, and fall apart without being able to do anything, it’s super intesting to me !! Especially on PBs side just seeing the stress weigh down on her from the candy kingdom (obviously this happens to gumbald in the dream but it’s switcharoo)

Now we see Finn and fern sitting on that island, although fern is now Finn again  “ I'm me again. It feels like it's been years.” This line just makes me very sad, ferns been living the last year (+?) as not himself,, (like I said I have THOUGHTS about fern I could go on sooo long ab him, but I wanna focus on CAWM rn) and now we see pb and gumbald, although when pb touches fern he starts disintegrating just like the grass demon said.

PB and gumbald apologize to eachother, but lolly trips gumbald and his dum dum juice dummifys him again, “  He never was the epiphany type. But I am willing to let bygones be bygones.” Like I said,,, things change but also stay the same,,, PB and gumabld sees what they each went through but Gumbald still stays the same, and turns into the punch bowl once again.

And now we get into the end of the world, as BMO puts it,

We get a flashback to Simon and Betty before the mushroom war and everything else, (I don’t have a ton to say about this scene but it’s very funny that Betty accidentally fucked simons eye up by throwing a jar of cherries at him)

Ice King of course does not remember Betty. But now we get the golb monsters, can I just say these monsters are sick as fuck I love them. “Obey my command! Flee for your lives! If you fight, the demon will just add you to its mass!” PB character development <3. 

Alll the main characters standing together to try and defeat golb,,, mmm it’s good it’s good, (also I find it cute that the gum ball guardians call PB mom lol) 

Ice king , king man , Finn and Jake go to try to stop Betty yippee ! Although Jake jumps off to eat (??) those birds (which leads to time adventure ofc <3<3<3) lumpygrab ! It’s cute, not a ship I think ab a ton but it’s cute. Betty seeing ice king as Simon, even if only for a moment is,,, mmmm, part of Betty’s whole thing is that, she can never except ice king as he is, maybe they could be happy if she could but, he isint Simon, he is just the ice king, and it leads her to madness trying to save her. This especially ties in with what she says right after “What... You're trying to stop me!? When I'm this close to harnessing the most powerful force in the universe and finally saving you!?” Oh and Maja fucking explodes.

Finn Betty and IK go into glob,,, Finn loses his robot arm, just as we saw at the start of the episode, it’s destined to lay there for 1000 years after the war huh ?

BUBBLINE YIPPEEEEE !! Seeing Marceline turn into the cloud form is sick as fuck btw, anyways this scene is just,, so good,, especially with just seeing how their relationship builds up again throughout the series. And how it was in the past in distant lands: obsidan.

Finn Betty and Simon reverte to their primal forms, Simon and Betty are back to normal human while Finn is the same, I also love how he does not get his arm back, since it’s been shown that not having an arm is just, his natural state, if he is in a life where he can’t have an arm, he will eventually lose it or just not have it, it’s his natural form.

Jake goes to fight those dudes for Finn,,, god this scene man.,, the treehouse is crushed by the golb monster and Jake just can’t handle it,,, seeing the place that he and Finn and bmo lived since they were young completely destroyed crushes him, BMO finds him of course “It's okay, Jake. You always try to protect me and Finn. But sometimes we are going to get hurt. How about today, you let me be the papa?” God man I’m just thinking about this,,, Jake has always been dadding for Finn  and bmo throughout the series, of course they had their parents but Finn was only 12 at the start of the series and we know their parents died before the start of the series, Jake has been taking care of those 2 for so long, in the treehouse that they lived in for so long,,,

And of course,,, time adventure,,, MAN

I think time adventure captures exactly what adventure time is about along with ‘come along with me’ and ‘everything stays’ 

Everything will happen again and again,,, the cycle of life and death goes on, everything stays but it still changes,,, just like 5e futures,,, 1000+ ooo is so different and yet, we have our 2 young adventurers still going off and exploring ooo,,, change is what adventure time is all about imo,,,, 

And everyone singing together to defeat glob,, it’s just so good,,,, having everyone working together to defeat glob and save Finn and Betty and Simon, many of these characters have had strained relationships in the past and yet they still all join together,, they’ve all changed throughout the series leading to this moment,,, god,,

“I always figured I'd go out saving somebody.” This line by Finn always gets me, because, of course he would think that, he is a hero, of course he would want to go out saving someone, doing what he does best, and also this line is just so sad since,,, Finn genuinely thinks he is gonna die here yknow ? He has stared death in the face many times but few times has he genuinely thought that he was gonna die,,,,

Betty makes the ultimate sacrifice, she can’t make up for what she did as magic Betty, she does feel guilty for what she has done,”I’m sorry for messing everything up” , so she wishes to banish glob, eventually fusing with it to keep Simon and the rest of everyone,

And then Fern,,, he finally got to be the hero,, just like he was when he was Finn,, and all he ever wanted was his identity and family and friends back to be honest, something that makes me sad is just,, how calm fern sounds when he is dying,,, I can’t explain but it’s just,,, yeah,, he asks Finn to promise to plant him there,, of course he wo.uld want to be planted there, it’s the place where he grew up with Jake, his best brother and friend, and even if he dosent get to be Finn again he would at least like to be connected to the place that meant so much to him.

Finn and Jake plant the fern seed at the remains of the treehouse, which, you know, it’s a lot like what happened with Shoko, it’s changes but still stays the same huh ? Finn and PB just being friends is soooo sweet I just love themm a lot.

And so Shermy and Beth go off to find that Fern Tree they heard in the story. While Finn and Jake far in the past from those two, sit next to the music hole, as she starts singing come along with me,, the iconic ending song as we see how everyone lives went on after everything, the cycle of life and death and change continues. Even after all of that characters still live their life, similar to before but not excatly the same.

And at the very end,, we see those two adventurers climb the fern tree, shermy pulls out the Finn sword and holds it up high, ending the final episode on the same iconic pose at the start of every single episode, 

and like I’ve said over this whole rant,, it changes but still stays the same, the cycle repeats again and again, never the same but still similar,  and I feel like that’s the whole point of adventure time, it’s about change, everything changes so much from the start to the end, we see these characters grow up and change, we see them die and reincarnate, not the same, but similar, ooo and everyone in it goes on and on,  and yes, someday golb and the lich will succeed at their goals, bringing death to everyone, but why not fight for it ? Yes it will happen eventually, someday some Finn and Jake reincarnations will not be able to kill the lich, but they still have all their friends and family and everyone, so why shouldn’t they try ? They could just give up since it’s inevitable but also, they have so much to fight for, everybody who cares about them, even if it’s just the two of them, Finn and Jake, they will always have eachother, and isint that enough to fight for ?

Adventure time just means so much to me in a way I can’t describe, its part of me, and I don’t think even amphibia (which I love so much) reaches the same connection adventure time has with me, it’s just so important to me, it’s such an inherent part of me that I can’t imagine who I would be without it to be honest, where would I have ended up without this show ? I don’t know, but I did find this show and I love it so much that words can’t describe it. Obviously you don’t have to respond to this rant, but it would mean a lot to mean to just, talk about what I talked about here with you, (but no worries about making it as long as this,), I just want to share my love of this show with you, and even you just watching it makes me so so happy. So yknow, thank you for being my friend and watching stuff I like, I appreciate you a lot.

the intro is so cool! when i watched it i meant to go back and look at it again and especially look at bmos little house to try and spot a couple little easter eggs because it looks So Full of them.the main things i noticed was i think bmo had the helmet that glob and his brothers or whatever had that stuck out and also the fact that they called themselves the King of Ooo. i hope bmo is okay living up there all by themselves its played for a joke but the fact that they Have forgotten Finn's name is so hhhhhh. (is it specified how log its been? because if its been like a Long Long time its both more and less sad i think) that one episode after elementals with Marceline and bmo gived me hope that for however long they end up living bmo wont be completely alone, their friendship with Marcy was so nice in that episode i hope it lasts.

i am so interested in the whole thing of adventire time being a show about things constantly changing and yet staying the same. it seems like Such a clever way to encorporate that shift from an episodic adventure of the week sort of show it was at the start to the more serialised show with big character moments and over arcing plotlines it became a bit later on. it also kinda juat makes me think about Everything Stays again which you know. yeah

man finn and fern having to deal with their shared trauma together is so ! the bit when theyre fighting and Fern is like "im tormented!" and finn goes "im also that sometimes!" just something about that little interaction gets me theyre both so sinsere and like. i cant find the sords for what im trying to say augh. you get what im trying to say hopefully

oooo the switchy scene!! that was so cool i was really intreuged by them swapping places and getting to experince what it all was like from the other side. it could have made it so easy for them both to come to a peaceful conclusion at the end now that they first hand know what the other went thru and can epathise with eachother in a way they couldnt before. unfortunately gumbald is gumbald and screwed that over but you know you can hope. Bonnie did tho, she saw that she was wrong and she was willing to admit it which is a Huge growth for her character from the start of the show.

the scene of finn and fern on that island is so nice. its so peaceful but also very like, cathatrtic i think is the word for it? the two of them finally getting a chance to just sit there and Be for a moment after all that theyve been thru. its nice

something about the power of music bringing everyone together to make one final stand to save the world and it Working is so important to me. i love music so much as an artform, as a method of self experssion, as a tool to bring people together, and Adventure Time does such a good job doing those ideas justice, its big proper songs are so meaningful and powerful and even the littler ones and the fact that so many characters will just Start Singing, just whenever for the sake of it for no other reason than they feel like it. its so good man

"i always figured id go out saving someone" and then Simon Immidiately jumping in to try to comfort him. they all think theyre gonna die, they all know theyre not gonna make it out this time. so in the face of all hopelessness Simon still tries to comfort this kid and like. i dunno Simon straight away jumping to try to comfort FInn even tho really he has No Idea who tf this kid is man

im glad Fern got to be planted outside the treehouse. he sounds so resigned while hes dying, he knows hes going and hes accepted it, a much nicer ending than he had the first time, and now he gets to be forever immorialised and in some kind of irony manages to outlive everyone else through his tree

i think i get what you mean. i think Adventure Time is to you a lot of what Steven Universe is to me. i started watching SU when i was about 8 and it was a Huge part of my life basically until i ended. i used to rewatch peridot episodes when i was sad, i would sings the songs to myself to pass the time, i would think about theories while walking. so many of my memories are full of steven universe, i legitimately feel like if an alternate version of me existed who had never seen an episode of SU, i would be unrecogniseable to myself. that show means so much to me and i watched it at such an influential age it has had ramifications and left marks on me i dont think i could ever begin to find them all. its… fundementally shaped me as a person, my opinions on things, my morals, so much of Who I Am. so if Adventure Time is to you even slightly what Steven Universe is to me, then i get it. stories have such a power to effect people, we rely on them to learn about the world and the stores we hear or have avalible to us effect us in so many different ways. its incredible really

thank you for being My friend, if it hadnt of been for you i probably wouldnt have sat down and watched adventure time like this, maybe ever, and i only really did it at the start because i wanted to engage in something that clearly means so much to one of my friends, and im so glad i did so thank you it was so much fun

just gonna infodump about these guys because they haven’t even existed for a full day yet but they’ve been rotating around in my brain like a rotisserie chicken (also i’ve decided to name them Aspen and Silas!!) 🐦‍⬛👻🦇🪦🐈‍⬛☠️

every time Aspen dies, he heals but he keeps the scars he got from however he died in his past lives. Aspen has died A LOT, so he has a lot of scars. his favorite color is green and he loves nature and plants and frogs and mushrooms. he definitely has one of those green dinosaur hoodies. he likes to read and write, and definitely plays some sort of instrument and loves to sing.

Aspen and Silas live in a very cold area, lots of snow and shit. it’s FREEZING all the time. morgues/mortuaries are COLD. Aspen’s favorite season is summer :( he loves life and loves seeing the sun and being outside in forests with the plants and animals but now he’s constantly surrounded by death and cold and blood and corpses, and he has to stay up all night and sleep during the day. he will never feel the warmth of the sun again. he hates it.

but it’s not all bad!! Aspen either had a pet black cat that he convinced Silas to bring back to him from wherever it was taken to after he died, OR he found a black cat around the cemetery and befriended it. either way he has a friend :) Silas doesn’t like cats at first but he warms up to it.

Silas is a crow guy. he likes crows. all those carcasses everywhere attracts crows and stuff and he can probably communicate with them somehow. he has a lot of crows living around the morgue and cemetery and he feeds them and stuff. they’re the only living thing he can sorta stand to be around 🐦‍⬛ (besides Aspen)

vampires can turn into bats in my lore so yeah :) Silas sleeps in a coffin but doesn’t let Aspen in his room so he doesn’t know that. Silas can hear and smell everything so imagine his surprise, waking up one night and realizing there’s someone alive in one of those corpse shelves, someone who was supposed to be dead. Silas can also use mind control, and he’s very good at it.

every time Aspen dies, he kinda slowly becomes one with death in a way. like a part of himself seeps through into the astral plane. he eventually starts to see ghosts. he starts to be able to interact with everyone who died there before him, in the cemetery and morgue. he talks to the spirits and they keep him company and comfort him, as they were all also fed from by Silas when they were first brought there too. after a while, Aspen doesn’t feel so alone anymore, but it’s still so cold. he does not tell Silas about this.

anyway i love these new blorbos and i hope u guys like them too :3 making new oc stories is very fun!!

WOAHHHH NEW OC STORY IDEA ALL A SUDDEN

okay so vampire guy works at a morgue and feeds from the dead bodies but it’s never Enough. it keeps him under control but he does needs fresh blood once in a while. anyway this human guy dies, was brought to the morgue, and the vampire guy drains him of all his blood (as he does to every corpse) but this human died recently and his blood was fresher and tastier than the others. vampire leaves the dead human in one of those corpse shelves for the night (vampire guy lives in the morgue somewhere) and the next morning BOOM. the human guy is awake and alive and healthy as if nothing happened. immortality moment!! woah

and the vampire guy is like SWEET!!! new infinite food source of fresh delicious human blood!! now he doesn’t have to feed from those gross corpses anymore or go hunting and risk being killed by pesky vampire hunters.

but vampire guy still has to work at the morgue. that’s his whole business. that’s his home and how he needs to make money to buy food for his new human bloodbag (guy can survive without food but his blood tastes better when he’s not starving).

and it’s strange for the vampire guy sometimes. he’s always spending time around dead humans and this is the first time he’s gotten close to an actual live human before. and even though he’s keeping him captive, he still likes making conversation sometimes. it gets lonely being an immortal vampire who’s hasn’t had a close relationship in decades, and who’s instinct it is to suck the blood out of every human he meets. and since immortal human guy is trapped there and has nothing to do, he might as well talk to him. he’s lonely too and now just found out he’s immortal. he doesn’t wanna be alone forever

but obviously he hates being fed from by a vampire and desperately wants to escape. vampire guy kills him a bunch of times just because he Can. sometimes he drains him of all his blood when he’s extra hungry, sometimes he just kills him for disobeying or trying to escape to teach him a lesson. sometimes he kills him for fun, for the thrill of the hunt. dying is PAINFUL as fuck to the human. he hates dying even though he always comes back fully healed.

sometimes the human wants more things to keep him occupied so he’s not bored all day trapped in the basement of a morgue (or maybe he’s kept locked in a corpse shelf during the day, extremely claustrophobic and dark, with no way out, trapped next to a bunch of human corpses. who knows). but the vampire doesn’t wanna waste his hard-earned cash on buying his human silly unnecessary things just because he’s bored.

so sometimes he lets the human help him work. vampire guy owns the morgue and has no other employees, and only works at night to avoid sunlight, so human wouldn’t be able to call for help anyway. human guy hates being around dead bodies but it gives him something to do and he technically gets paid for it in a way. now vampire guy gets things done twice as fast and has more money and free time too. he buys his human the stuff he wants, like books or puzzles, and they sometimes play games together.

human was a nobody. he probably died from some freak accident and was brought to the morgue by the hospital. he didn’t have a family or any loved ones that claimed his body or set up his funeral. nobody came looking for his body to bury or cremate because Nobody cared that he was gone. and that just makes things a whole lot sadder because even if he does somehow escape the vampire, where’s he gonna go? he’s legally dead. Everyone thinks he’s dead. he’s supposed to be dead. there wouldn’t be anywhere to go or anyone to go to because he obviously can’t tell people he’s immortal, that would just cause more questions, and surely being experimented on by scientists would be worse than whatever he’s going through right now, right?

so human guy has to accept his life now, as an immortal bloodbag for a vampire who works at a morgue. his life is filled with blood and death, but there’s nothing he can do about it. maybe vampire guy eventually gains sympathy for him, and starts to feel bad for his pathetic excuse of a life. maybe they eventually become friends. or maybe the human stabs a wooden stake through the vampire’s heart. who knows

anyway these guys have existed in my head for nearly an hour and they don’t even have names but i am going insane over this holy shit???? RAUHHHH i’ve gotta make picrews dude i gotta draw them. new blorbos. new brainrot. i prommy i’ll still get tllr chapter 13 out today or tomorrow but WOAHH look at these new little guys they’re so silly

Firstly, I’m??? 2 followers away from 50?? Holy 🐮 because I never thought that many people would be interested in my multiversal exploration shenanigans but, um, thank you??? It might not be a lot to some people, but for someone who started with zero intention of making a following and just wanted a place to infodump about my shifting experience without judgment it’s insane so just wanted to give a quick shoutout to you all <3 love you guys!!!

I. HAVE. GOTTEN. SO. CLOSE. OH MY GOD YOU GUYS IM CRYING, SCREAMING, THE WORKS??!! TL;DR, I’ve revisited my attitude towards shifting, as well as my methodology and honestly doing so has given me the greatest opportunity at success I’ve ever had and I can honestly feel it. I’ve been manifesting things daily on command without even meaning to, from songs on the radio to how my days at work go (when I’m lazy it stays empty and when I’m bored it suddenly jumps to being busy and full of fun projects to keep occupied?? as soon as I think it??)

I’ve essentially taken an “if it happens, it happens” mentality. I mean, I’ve lived 21+ years of my life not shifting to these fantastical places I dream about, and I’ve only been trying for about 2-3 years now. In the grand scheme of things, that’s no time at all. I mean, considering how long it’s taken me to learn other things like driving, guitar, and even how to write in a style I’m happy with, that’s hardly any time at all?? Furthermore, if reality is maleable and all based on perspective, why am I putting all this effort to shift to some far off distant land when I can just?? Improve my daily life with this energy and focus on being happy (or at minimum, okay with) my current reality and circumstances. And that’s what I’ve been doing!

Ever since I decided this, I’ve been having extremely vivid dreams and come close to lucid dreaming several times. I mean I actually had a dream I was talking to Dr. Strange about the multiverse for crying out loud???? I never, EVER dream about my comfort characters and suddenly without warning I dream about this magical father figure and he talks to me about the multiverse and shifting??? I promise I’ve never been able to induce dreams like that no matter what I’ve tried before. I’ve opened my sleepy eyes to rooms that are unfamiliar, and while meditating on my own just to fall asleep I’ve felt myself experiencing shifting symptoms even though I wasn’t actively trying to shift??

I know this is easier said than done for some people, especially people who are in more troublesome circumstances than I in this reality. However, I truthfully think focusing on making your current life bearable (dare I say, pleasant?) is a great way to improve your shifting skills. After all, shifting isn’t a physical movement nor is it a drastic change. Shifting means that: to shift. To shift your perspective on how you view the world around you! Once you do this, you start to realize just how simple shifting was all along and who knows? The next time you actively try to shift you might just wind up opening your eyes in a world just as real as this one, but with all your desires already come true <3

So Julietta is Tim's older sister by about two years, and she more or less raised him given how absentee their parents were! She grew up as a spoiled heiress but with absolutely no emotional support whatsoever, the only real bond she had was with Tim. She's always been very intelligent, not quite on Tim's level but enough for both of them to have caught Ra's al Ghul's attention.

But when she was 14, she gets kidnapped and taken to the League Of Assassins. To make a long and complicated story very short, this was just before Damian was conceived — basically Ra's determined that if Talia did any of that then she might become attached and therefore weak, so Julietta becomes a surrogate. He's still biologically talia & bruce's but she was the one who carried him and mostly took care of him as a baby and she very much sees him as hers. Soon after, just weeks before Damian is born, Jason is brought to the League. He's revived in the pit and then his job is to protect Julietta and Damian. He has good days where he's actually aware (ish) and talks to them and bonds with them (and kind of becomes the dad in their fucked up little family), but he also has bad days where Pit Madness clouds his mind and he only sees them as a mission

Fast forward slightly, Damian is four, he's taken by Ra's and engineeredly aged up to 9/10. He gets trained by the League and then sent to Gotham, where he ends up with Bruce. Around the same time, Jason leaves and also returns to Gotham, and Julietta is left alone. Talia, who has a soft spot for her, lets her go and she ends up back in Gotham too. She starts off trying to find Tim, but the mansion is empty and she can't find any records on him, so she withdraws into the shadows while she tries to find him. Taking on the name Medea, she targets kidnappers and rapists and etc (particularly those who are rich or powerful enough to get away with it) and spends a lot of time butting heads with the Red Hood. She encounters the Batfam a few times, but is mostly alone.

Until she comes across a newspaper where the front page is dedicated to the latest Wayne Gala, in honour of his new son, and she recognizes Damian in the picture (even if she doesn't know how he's so much older, she'd recognize her baby anywhere). She hasn't been able to find Tim by this point, so she decides to go to Wayne Manor to find out what the fuck is going on, only it's not Damian or Bruce or Alfred who answers the door, it's Tim.

She keeps her vigilante identity secret from them but Tim insists that Bruce let her move in. Then she kind of pulls an Oliver Queen (with a hint of Bruce Wayne), playing the part of the long lost heiress finally returned, crafts herself a mask as a bit of an airhead spoiled brat, and doubles down on her efforts to get rid of the corruption in Gotham.

Neither Jason nor Damian remember her initially, because of the League, and it's going to be a lot of angst for her for a long time before they do. She's going to be shipped with Jason, and I'm very very obsessed with their dynamic!

She and Dick also have a really fun dynamic where Julietta absolutely hates him because she feels like he's trying to steal her place as Damian's sort-of-parent, meanwhile Dick is just like "oh my god she's a baby, she's the same age Jason would have been, I have to protect her"

She and Harley Quinn bond so quickly, Jason is absolutely terrified to find this out, and Talia, Bruce, Harley, and Dick are locked in the world’s most intense custody battle lmao

On a lighter note though, she loves to bake, loves museums, and Dick gets her into gymnastics. Her backstory is incredibly angsty and her story will have plenty of angst too (especially when her boys don't remember her) but my self-therapy lately is just thinking about her being soft with the batfam lmao

Decided to post something here, just to see how it goes. I haven’t really used Tumblr much even though I put an account together. This feels a bit random...

SKETCH TUCKER'S MOVES LET'S GO

(Pretty much prefix each of these moves with "Tokaru-")

1. BEAM

The first ability Sketch stumbled upon before he even realized what he was, it's considered a base-level move. Summoning power to his "third eye," it's released as a quick burst, with just enough concentration to give it a straight trajectory. It can travel a good distance, but its spontaneous nature leaves damage output a little lacking. Still, it's a go-to for a quick ranged counterstrike. His wife Heather would make this the move she'd develop further in strength.

2. BUSTER

One of Sketch's signature moves, the Buster concentrates his power into a condensed sphere, which is then fired at the intended target; when it makes contact with something or someone, the Buster explodes, making it one of his most powerful moves. With a little extra focus, he can use psychokinesis to steer the Buster's trajectory, but that makes him more prone to surprise attacks as he's less focused on other happenings. Heather made this skill her go-to quick move, opting to fire small Busters rapidly instead of creating one large one, but she has a very strong alternative version that's quite devastating. But that's for some other time, I think.

3. KINESIS

As mentioned earlier, Sketch (and the rest of his kind) have a degree of psychic ability, including psychokinesis. This move is summoned kinda like the Buster, except instead of a concentrated energy ball, he summons a spark. Whatever the spark hits, Sketch can then manipulate with constant focus; with greater focus, he can practice more intricate control over more complicated things, especially people. More often than not, it's good for picking up and throwing heavy stuff, or disabling certain threats.

4. BARRIER

Sketch's power isn't just used for offense. He can quickly create a spherical field of energy to nullify or at least weaken threats -- how well it works is somewhat dependent on the level of concentration used for it. The tradeoff of this ability is, naturally, that Sketch cannot attack while using this move, so once he feels ready to strike, the Barrier has to be taken down. He has to be confident that the time is right to do so, while at the same time not exhausting all his energy on defense.

5. SABER

Another of Sketch's signature moves, and one of the only moves Heather hasn't been able to master. It's summoned like the Buster, but the energy ball is distorted to create a point, and psychokinesis is used to "wield it" -- it's typically situated near the hand to simulate it being held, but it is free-floating, and with added focus can swing on its own without physical motion. The Saber itself is quite damaging, though its effect is moreso a powerful "burn" than a proper cut. That said, it's still technically Sketch's most powerful ability, and despite the restricted range it is more than capable of bringing down the toughest of customers.

6. STRIKER

This is a move that Sketch's granddad Dan Tucker came up with, but after seeing the move in action Sketch managed to figure out how to do it very quickly. The move summons energy towards the hands and/or feet, and when a physical attack is performed, the energy is flung out like a wave. It doesn't travel as far as the Buster or Beam, but it's enough to extend the range of damage. Naturally, though, it's strongest when it's done WITH physical contact damage, adding extra oomph to punches and kicks when readied.

So yeah, I just felt like putting this infodump somewhere. Don't know how often I'd do this, but hey... there's a chance this could be a place I'd visit more often in the future. Hopefully if I do, I'll have my thoughts assembled better than this. Preferably less out-of-the-blue and erratic.
