Progenitus is basically a meme card, no one plays progenitus unless they’re being funny. Heartfire Hero was banned in standard and rebalanced in alchemy and the rebalanced version was still bonkers. I’m having flashbacks to mice meta as we speak, I swear a solid 70% of decks I saw were mice aggro

All right well, this is my opportunity to plug LANCER and I love this system, so LANCER it is!

Stats in LANCER are a little weird because you have two sets of them - there’s your combat stats for your skills in piloting a giant mech and then there’s your skill triggers, aka the things you’re good at when you’re just chilling being a person. So I guess I’ll do both? And I’m going to go level 0 because that’s what I have experience in

I’m not going to ramble for too long about what these skills mean, I think the triggers explain themselves (you get a +2 to any you have), and the mech ones are basically toughness/agility/hacking/repair, respectively. I’m happy to explain more (I love this system so much) so feel free to ask but I don’t want to make this post too long because I could talk about LANCER for hours :)

I think it needs to be used very carefully and sparingly because this means a character is yelling at maximum volume, but when used on occasion I think it’s fine!

Or when it’s Breeches from MTG. He just yells :)

For example: "YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!" he shouts.

I'm speaking on extreme exclamations. Personally, I am conflicted. In my personal writing, I understand the use of it. Sometimes some shock needs something more extreme to display it. That being said, I find that it is a crutch that a lot of more inexperienced writers use for fanfiction. Somehow I can't get behind it as easily as something as italics which is similarly misused.

no but I love it when a recovering character has to be restrained as a cover-up. when caretaker or leader needs the facade of bringing them in, so they clasp the handcuffs closed, carefully avoiding the long since scarred wounds on their wrists. that lingering pity when whumpee takes a shaky breath and lets it happen. ropes loose enough to break if they panic, thick chains that drag for the show of it. and a whumpee, who wants to be brave, to be strong, just... can't. who forgets where they are; shuts down; expression sinking to despaired nothingness as the locks click into place.
