Critical Role Season 2 Episode 136 Thoughts (Part One) -

Wasn't in the mood for liveblogging last night, but here are the thoughts I had while watching!

Warning, this is long and loud and busy with little breathing space, read at own will!

Well I just opened the stream and was greeted by a very smooth Fjord.

Hm.

Just as well that I'm gonna be just listening again, rather than actually watching.

Listening to the stream with no video is interesting, I've started learning certain audio cues off by heart now.

Such as when the art reel is about to end, when Matt is about to call the opening sequence and when the raven flies away during the opening sequence.

It's fun.

I've also gained much more respect for Matt's voice acting thanks to listening with no video. Like, I can see these NPCs from just hearing their voices???

I can't.

I love how Laura's merch announcements end up being such emotional rollercoasters.

I'm still not over Vax and every time I see that raven fly away in the animated opening sequence it usually makes me think about him and all those "but what if he lived???" scenarios.

This usually distracts me for the first few minutes of gameplay after the opening.

I'm not okay. (:

Okay but Laura and Ashley are so good at singing, I'm feeling v gay rn.

Travis' high pitched laughter and wheezing makes me so happy??? Love him.

I really hate Cree.

I don't actually know why, but I honestly hate her so fucking much.

I'm still annoyed she wasn't one of the 3 Tomb Takers that got taken out.

I'm unsure if I actually genuinely ship shadowgast or if I'm just seeing vax'ilmore crumbs where they aren't.

On the subject of vax'ilmore, it is still my all time favourite Critical Role ship from my first attempt at watching Campaign 1 two years ago.

Shaun Gilmore is also still my all time favourite character from then too.

I don't want any more of the Nein to die, it would ruin me, but like… I'm craving it at the same time?

And I don't mean anyone dying to Lucien or Trent or the Sumnovum or any other big baddies like how Molly died to Lorenzo way back.

I wanna see someone die in a really dumb situation and there being nothing the Nein can do for them.

I want somebody to die in a really quiet and mundane way and for it to really shake the Nein up.

Idk why I want this??

I love all of the Nein and want them all happy and safe! Ya know?

But I CRAVE this kinda angst so fucking badly.

Ok lol since Saturday everyday has been a lil adventure ahh

This morning I came in wearing a beanie bc it was cold and said hi to everyone and we started moving some book-table-things outside and when I walked back in I put my sleeves over my hands bc I was cold and my crush was right behind me and she was in such a good mood and she said "awww is someone cold, awww is someone tired, awww did someone not get enough sleep" and teased me and I looked at her like I was mad/annoyed and started whining lol and I told her that today is not a good day bc I lost my rainbow bracelet in bed bc the knot opened up and I also forgot to wear my necklace and then I showed her my bracelet bc I put it in my pocket and asked if she could fix it and she said definitely not but tried anyway and then she asked how I could even forget to wear a necklace and it was just niceeee I like talking to her ahh

We're gonna sell some really cool plant pots on comission soon and someone brought 2 over so we could have a look and they're super cool and I took some pics to post on Instagram and she helped me make the story and she was so sweet again and was like "how are you not in charge of our Instagram" and idkkk like she's different sometimes when a lot of people are around or if it's just the two of us and she's always standing close to me when we're talking and when she's teasing me she always makes really strong eye contact lol

And like this customer came in and asked about books for a 9 and 12 year old and I asked her what you normally ask someone to kinda figure out what kind of book would be good but I have absolutely no idea about children's books and like young adult and stuff and I've told my crush that I wanna have like training for that at some point (from her bc she's just really good) and I knew she listened to my conversation with the customer bc she was like a few metres away and when I told her I'd get my coworker I saw how she started smiling and then she teased me about how she thought I wanted some training and again she made some really intense eye contact lol and I told her not today (the customer laughed too, she was really nice ahh) and then I told her thank you but like more quiet so only she could hear and she said 'of course' in a really sweet tone ahhhh

And she left early today bc she wanted to buy plants and I asked "what you're leaving early again" and she made that joke again about how she knows I'm miserable without her lmao and later she posted a story of her cart at that plant store and I texted her and she texted back and she always uses that 😉 emoji and I'm just weak lmao

And dudeeee I missed her so much this afternoon like she left at 1pm and I had 5 hours left without her and it felt like time passed so much slower lmao I'm so deep in lol

Omg and yesterday we talked about little paper decoration things we got from a publisher for free and I told her I thought they were ugly and she was like "whattt noo I think they're prettyyy I wanted to hang them in the window" and I said I really hate them but she's gonna do what she wants anyway and then she teased me again and said 'yeah I will. And you're gonna hang them up for me' (she's still kinda my boss lol) and and I acted annoyed and whined a lil but agreed overall like yes of course I'd do it if you asked me to and she was surprised bc I didn't argue and she teases me about not saying no to her lol

I also told her that my bed is blue bc I thought about buying one of those plant pots and they would match so nicely and she was very idk interested? Like "ohhh so you're bed is blue?" And idk us talking about my bed makes me feel things lmao

Hii! If you dont mind me askin, how do you edit your darker screenshots? I always end up making them too light or too dark to see a thing :( Thank you!

hmmm idk what to tell you about making them too light or too dark, because that’s a very specific thing that really depends on the picture. BUT i know that the dodge tool is my bff for brightening up dark pictures while still retaining some of the darker elements you want in them (aversely, the burn tool will help darken parts), messing with the exposure can also really help, coloring can also help too, selective color is my bff especially with blue shadows and orangey skin...this is kind of a broad answer, i’m sorry, but if you needed help with something specific, let me know!

I remember you answered an ask and said you drew tears when you edit right? Is there a reason you don't use CC tears?

i answered this like two weeks ago but i can’t find it so whateveR i’ve used cc tears a few times but there’s only like three of those in existence and my characters have cried a LOT. i feel like it would be kinda weird if they had the same tears every time. also there are just some variations that i like to customize myself by drawing, like sometimes they’ll be full on sobbing, sometimes just one single tear...it just depends on the situation, that’s why i draw ‘em.

Would you recommend buying a macbook for playing sims?

if a macbook is what you already have, then yeah, i’d say it suffices without many problems. if you’re specifically going out and buying a computer with the knowledge that you’ll be playing sims on it, then mmmmmm i’d probably say no...but it also depends on if you’re like gonna get REALLY into storytelling and cc n shit or if it’s just casual gameplay with a mods folder that’s like 5 gb or less...if it’s the latter i think it should also be fine. but yeah it just depends on what kind of gaming you’re planning on doing.

I have everything set up, but it seems as if when I do my thing in Photoshop, everything turns out lookin like a blobfish. I'm not sure if you use another person's topaz settings or if you have your own. Thank you so much if you do respond bc I was too much of a wuss to message you *cries in Spanish*

OMG well it’s mostly just resizing, smart sharpening, and most importantly topaz clean (see above) that makes them so crisp. i also use the sharpen tool on sims’ faces, and the smudge tool when something is particularly pixelated or whatever. everything i do is listed in here! UR NOT A WUSS *hugs you in spanish*

youre my inspiration to be a better writer. I know i'm good and giving characters depth and backgrounds and coming up with a rough story idea. but i rush things and i'm not great at putting it into a good story so ya. My story on simblr started out as casual gameplay but i wanted it to be more and i'm trying to get better @ everything

Am I the only one who's like... really mad about pets being NPCs? I just feel like being able to control them was the best part. I don't really feel like the EP is worth it without them. Like, don't get me wrong, I understand that the team worked really hard on it, but I feel like they didn't do it as well as they could have.

hmm i’m kind of meh on that front because like on one hand i did like controlling pets and the novelty of the fact that you could just see their different interactions firsthand, but ultimately i think i’m okay with not controlling them because it makes it more realistic for me and honestly they’re probably more likely to take care of themselves a little bit more if they’re automated, because i’m just thinking about ts3 pets and how i literally had to make them go pee outside otherwise they’d pee in the house...even if they were well trained and stuff lmao. plus there might be a cheat or mod that lets you control them, like there was in ts2? so don’t lose hope yet.

Ok I gotta rant. GoT does NOT deserve the hype/amazing ratings. Like, sure the cinematography is pretty great and they have ok actors but the freaking script is so mediocre I actually think I could write a better one. Me. A 16 y/o tiny child. There are so much better shows out there! Hell, even Supernatural has a better script than GoT

whenever ppl agree with me about how much GoT sucks i grow stronger and stronger even the actors are iffy at this point. watching daenerys act is painful, jon snow is wooden as hell, it’s just bad. ur 16 yr old self has more potential than these writers tbh. it’s just completely mediocre; it started out as something great because it followed the same layered storytelling pattern as the books, but it’s diverged from that completely because the writers got too caught up in the hype. and you’re right, it doesn’t deserve that hype! omfdkjsgkj i’ve never watched supernatural but i haven’t heard good things. that’s a low bar

"how to make my laundy dry?" thats in my head since i back here. bcs u know these day is often rain, like i need 3 days my laundry to dry. even some clothes are still wet. but i could save mine (new laundry) luckily. same with yesterday i still with him. and there was a leader class election. ofc i didnt want to volunteer, and u know i cant lead MYSELF looool. i dont want to mess that up. the statistics lecturer is kinda intimidating imo. idk but the way he stare or talk even he was clowning. when he had finished, i just realized the next course 5 hours later. and i went to library looking for the hunger games book, and that was the first time i really enjoyed to reading book. even just 24 pages, i really cant move my eyes from the book. but when my friends wanted to out, I CANT BORROWED IT. I DISAPPOINTED, but what could i do. so tomorrow ill be back there to STEALLL IT. second course was cooperative and sme's economics—oh God we called it umkm haha for shorter. my lecturer is our homeroom lecturer. hes so NICEEEE, HIS VOICE IS SO SOFTTTTTT, I CANT. there is no denying why he is liked by many of his students, inc me. and the glasses are really fitting for him. ohh yup and the leader class is zaki. Favorite character:Oh dear… It’d most likely have to be Gremlin Prescott! He’s the character that truly brought me into the epic Mickey fandom, tbh! His edgy charm in EM2 is truly what makes him awesome to me! He wants to prove to everyone that he’s this amazing inventor, while he’s always getting kicked into the shadows of “Best Inventor” Jameface. I kinda relate to that, but I’ll talk about that later-

Second favorite character:Oswald! His character development was so heart(ha)warming, I’m glad he got his happy ending in EM1! I’m glad he got to befriend Mickey and forgive him for his mistakes, and I’m especially glad he got Ortensia back!!Also mentioning mad doctor because he’s a close to second fav, mostly because of his development in EM2! His musicals were awesome

Least favorite character:Hmm… Idk if I have a least favorite! All the characters have a nice charm to them, that I honestly can’t hate any of them! Though… I guess I’ll go with the Petes since they just seem like pricks without any reason, from what I remember.

The character I’m most like:This is where I get back to that feeling with Prescott-He wants attention, he wants people to like him, and he really wants people to praise him for his work! And I definitely can relate to all of that when it comes to my art-I just don’t believe I don’t get as much attention as I deserve with it, but I don’t truly get it. I’d go some lengths for people to notice me/give me attention(i.e. My spike in Steven universe fanart). I’ll still only do things I like, but I’ll do things especially if it guarantees attention. And that’s pretty much what prescott does, he joins sides with the mad Doctor because he knows he’ll get praise from him for doing it.

But I do appreciate all attention I get, and I know what I want will take time and effort.

Mick and Oswald. Not only is it incest, but I had to do a request involving it for said person. I hated doing it!! I deleted it the moment after they saw the drawing because I did NOT want anyone else seeing it. I don’t approve of it, now have I ever.

Favorite moment:Gosh… There’s the scene where Mickey gives up his heart for Oswald and Gus which was so!! Sweet!!Then there’s the scene where Oswald’s like “Doc are you ok??” And the doctor just STARES at him like “… Excuse me?” And makes Oswald do the sing along which was funny to me-And there’s also the scene after you beat Prescott… That messed me up-

Rating out of 10:Epic Mickey 1 I’d give a solid 10 on. The visuals are nice, the throwbacks to older stuff was also nice, and the pacing and gameplay were pretty solid! Also going to mention the nice cartoons that you could unlock, those were pretty sweet and got me to buy that Oswald collectors edition DVD!Epic Mickey 2…. 8/10. The gameplay wasn’t as polished as the original, but the visuals were still nice! It was just unfortunately rushed because of Disney.

After reading several forums and quora site on “my friend kissed me while he was drunk” “both drunk and he kissed me” “what does a drunk kiss mean?” my conclusion is still get this… INCONCLUSIVE :DDDD

Half of me wants to believe that he might actually be into me

Context: I had a huge huge crippling i-cant-even-study crush on him (friend for a good half a year+ at this point) for about a month prior to this engagement. I remember showing up to the house one time and i could not make eye contact with him because i would get nervous like who the fuck am i. I dont even know how this crush came about? I literally never thought.. Im kind of angry at myself that this happened it complicates so many things- now this is assuming he was concious of his decision to kiss me and didnt black out before this happened. Also we were both in his room alond when this happened for context? Brought me up to his room and closed the door, i didnt think anything of it bc i thought we were just gonna do some whippits but he pulled me closer kept asking me “wheres your boy?” “do you have a boy?” i would pull away because idk if i was confused nervous suprised all three? (mind you ive nevr gotten this close to a guy before let along kissed one so yes this was my first kiss) kept telling me to come back to his side, yes hefeltmeupundertheshirt and im pretty sure if my memory is correct started kissing me like small pecks on my cheek and i think it migrated to my lips and im pretty sure maybe like 60% sure i kissed him back on the lips but that is when i was like holy shit this is weird this is my friend! (thatihaveacrushonbutyaknow) also might have been because it was my first time having this kind of interaction with a boy of any sort so i was just a ball of emotions and horomones and just plain i dont know what to make of this so i pulled away and essentially cockblocked him by calling up my friends to come up hahahhahah ooops. The thing is im not entirely sure i like him like that. Sure i had a disgustingly strong crush on him for a good month before this happened but i feel like the events o fthis night really complicated my emotions and made me think “is this what i really want?” because crushes are one thing but relationships hooooooooh boy i have literall NO experience in this area. Crushes are fine, im really used to them and usually when i get a good one like this one was i bask in the gooey feeling for how long it lasts pining over the person (never acting on it) but i eventually just let it die out on its own because i know realistically i am probably leagues below the person im crushing on and nothing will ever happen. Also probably because im scared and nervous. I def have some self-confidence issues but thats another story :,) I always figure that if i dont shoot a shot and if i just admire from afar, no one gets hurt, no feelings come up, no one knows, nothing gets complicated. Anyways, that was the plan for this one. hOWEVER, this night we decided to do a power hour of soju (to celebrate the end of finals) so we were both pretty far gone at the point when he kissed me SO OBVIOUSLY somethin is gettin complicated up in here. After these events hes been messaging me and snapchatting me significantly more frequent than before and asks me what im up to and what my plans are for break and stuff like that which is… nice? (given i did message him the initial message after the said event happened bc i was asking a favor) I guess ive never had someone ask me things like that before and checked up on how im doing so it feels kinda foreign but nice...

The other half of me believes everything is too good to be true

Context: p much same as before? What are the odds i have a giant crush on someone and that crush ends up kissing me without me even mentioning im into him on his own accord? Again, given we were both intoxicated but still. No one has ever had a crush on me or done anything to act on it so my expectations and experiences are very very low to say the least. Lookit me im 20 yrs old and still hadnt had a first kiss( unless you count this one of course hahah)

I dont know if he kissed me drunk because he was just horny asf and being a typical fuckboi college boi and i was the closest person to him at the moment or if he was too shy to make any moves while sober so he used alcohol as a means to get closer. Because we were supposed to get blacked out drunk together on a separate occasion but it didnt happen bc i fell asleep beofre it happened haha some people on these forums say that drunk kisses mean nothing because both parties are drunk and it makes sense since when youre drunk you do things you wouldnt normally do sober, your inhibitions are lowered and you do shit you sometimes regret… but also for that same reason maybe he meant to kiss me he just needed to be drunk to make the first move.

The thing that bothers me the most is that he hasnt acknowledged the event, leading me to believe he either doesnt remember it at all (meaning the kiss meant nothing) or hes just too shy and has little dick energy to confront me about it. In any case, im planning on confronting him about it in the next two weeks.

I do get excited and somewhat happy when he texts me/ messages me though.

To not get my hopes up im just going to keep messaging him like hes a frind. Expectations low my friends, thats how to avoid disappointment. It is nice ot have a crush on someone. It kinda gives you something to look forward to or daydream about and it makes me feel warm inside and loved even though he probably doesnt fee l the same way or is oblivious to it all haha. Anyways ive been wanting to write this for a while so here it is.

I really hated the tensions between tea party i'm glad they resolved that. I mean it's clear not all will go perfectly but man do i hate seeing tensions.

The collab with Sparkling was so cite tho? Maybe a bit awkward, especially between Hyunji and yujin lmao. Also it's missing san with pink hair hours. THAT CONGFESSION THO??????? Like first i was like 'good for him for apologising' and then that??? Was kinda a surprise for me really idk how to feel about it from yujin's side. Also a date~ yujin looked so good as well~

Also we finally got updates on the eunjo storyline wahoo^^ I didn't even connect the fact that the disappearance and the suicide were so close together O.O Also i get eunjo so much i too would drop everything in that situation. Also I really appreciate the growth of the manager it's so nice to see^^

Again for tea party: I love that they all get to do the things they want to and bring them forwards individually as well as the whole group^^

The amount of hate i have for Hyeon-o (thr sparkling leader) is growing and growing fr, every new scene just makes it worse honestly. Also he got what he deserved, at least a bit now with the whole having to stay low lmao.

Next week the show, I'm so excitedddddddd like it was obvious everyone was gonna participate but hell yeah minsu content^^

i can’t believe i’m making an ebay account happy new year LOL

Third day of the new year!

Went to hangout with ryan and leighton. They wanted to try marugame udon so!!! Also i saw adam but didnt say hi, oops. In any case. We were like hey let’s do something like walk around! But it rained a little so we bought some cuties from trader joe’s and ended up at ryan’s house and basically sat in his kotatsu for 4 hours then i came home. I also finally know how it feels like when the manga says that your legs get tangled inside the kotatsu. And when you literally cannot get out of it. Plus the feeling of losing the ability to walk because ya gurl tried to stand up after crawling out of the kotatsu and just fell back down What a day LOL

went to portland with alice to check out apartments!!! woot. lots of fun going around/looking at the city. landed on thursday night and waited at the airport for alice and ate mcdonalds/watched the office haha friday: alice had work all day ): so i went out to meet up with yuri and leslie who happened to be out in portland too! walked to the alberta arts district to eat with them at pok pok noi. just walked around afterwards exploring in the rain before getting back home to eat dinner with alice at like 8…lol we went to bamboo sushi in sw and alice treated me to omakase as a congrats on getting my new yob!! woot also did some walking around in the neighborhood - will likely spend quite a bit of time in the powell city of books! saturday: the day we actually went out to see properties! grabbed some blue star donuts and headed into nw district - looked at some apartments and then grabbed lunch at this cute italian place that i will most likely frequent. started talking to alice about stuff and being weak, i cried and then we got free hazelnut ice cream…LOL. it was really good sunday: since we toured places that i actually liked yesterday, we basically just decided to walk around different areas. waterfront park, pioneer square…we spent a while in nordstrom rack and sephora looking for stuff for alice! lol. then dinner again at bamboo sushi and dessert at salt & straw :> monday morning: waking up early to get to the airport for alice’s flight. bought more donuts at the airport for mom! then i sat at the airport watching the office and eating until the airplane ride where i got a whole row to myself~

and that was my portland trip shortened LOL. but~ excited about the new city, definitely excited about the donuts!

February 19th

My first day of work!! Went in earlies and had onboarding for about two hours with amother new hire. Then i returned to my room where i met my coworker and my manager! Both of whom are in the same room and we each have a desk. (Ima have to request a standing desk :O) anywayss. Got a company laptop - thank god it’s not bulky. And then i’ve got two monitors on my desk too! #bless

Then jlw went through more ux stuff with me and i also went to a stand up meeting. Like. Those are real man. Then went to company lunch! Where new hires introduce themselves and i realize that i have never used a dishwasher before and everyone was shookt lol.

Afterwards, i went to a sprint meeting AND BOIIIII PLANNING POKER DOE??? Lololol. I have to say i did not understand a single thing that was going on. Took about an hour and a half…

Anyways. went back in where jlw continued where she left off and then finally let me read some onboarding stuff on my own before she headed out at 4 and then me, leaving swiftly at 4 as well LOL

SO that was my first day! Trying to get everything in order - i hope that everything goes great and that i learn lots and lots! :> although…windows computer already killing me, no wonder people use mouses instead of the trackpad. Also…gotta learn Axure + in depth photoshop so…WOOT WOOT

I went bowling today!! It was an engineering celebration so i thought - why not, let’s be social for a little bit. And it turned out to be fun~ we had some fuds and i played two rounds. And I got a strike in one of the rounds! Woot woot. Anyways. It was enjoyable, not as awkward as i had envisioned. Also i was able to successfully catch the bus home so that was great :>
