How could you make me choose? I'll go with the Manor sequence though in book 7. (And as a bonus, in the movies I like the extended dialogue in the Room of Requirement where Harry brings up the fact that Draco totally recognized him and didn't say anything.)

Mikky Ekko's song Who Are You, Really? No idea why really. Just has the right vibes I guess. But sometimes I listen to it for inspiration when I'm working on my drarry fics.

32. Something guaranteed to make them smile/laugh

Each other. After the war, after they get together, they both get just a little bit softer - at least when they're together. They still snark at each other constantly - but now there's no hostility to it. It's playful banter. And they enjoy it so much. And enjoy each other so much. They're constantly bickering back and forth in an easy, comfortable manner and teasing smiles and laughs out of each other.

There's two answers. First of all, there are the days where everything is safe and nothing happens and they can just be, together and at peace in a way neither of them ever really imagined after everything they went through. Where they are surrounded by friends and no one is trying to murder them and somehow, miraculously they have each other and all the old enmity is gone. That's what they would think of as their perfect day. And they love those days.

But here's the deeper truth - when they have too many days in a row like that, they get a tiny bit bored. They are inquisitive, active people with a penchant for getting into shenanigans for all they both strenuously deny this and claim the shenanigans simply find them. This would be true anyway, and especially after all they lived through a life with no excitement at all would just seem a bit too dull. Plus, after all the dangers they've faced their sense of what constitutes a risky situation is a bit skewed. What has other people saying 'Merlin why didn't you call for backup?! Yes it worked out this time but you couldn't have known that' is just a fun bit of excitement to them.

They're not daredevils by any means, but really, compared to what they've accomplished and survived, getting themselves temporarily pretend captured so they can bust an anti werewolf extremist group trying to tamper with the wolfsbane supply or rounding up an errant herd of escaped hippogriffs is not that big of a deal. Especially when they two of them are doing it together. Because they're both quite skilled alone and they compliment each other perfectly. And if sometimes they have a bit too much fun doing it and love watching each other being competent, well, that's nobody's business really.

B and Z for the fandom meme?

B - A pairing you initially didn’t consider but someone changed your mind

Dicrot, they never interacted once in canon, and it’s not like either of them are characters who I find myself often making headcanons for. However, @gold-kobold managed to drag me into shipping them.

Z - Just ramble about something fan-related, go go go (prompts optional but encouraged)

I was listening to Mikky Ekko’s “Who Are You, Really?” and combined with my earlier musings on Diego Luna’s “The Apology Song” I accidentally came up with yet another extremely-not-Wizards-compliant Mordred!Douxie AU. For weeks after the defeat of Morando, Krel has felt the pull of Gaylen’s core. He ignores it. Douxie kills a guy who exposes him as Mordred, and his friends (aka Zoe, Archie, Steve, Toby, and Krel) are shocked and demanding answers that Douxie isn’t comfortable giving, and also at least one cruel accusation gets hurled at him. He yells that they don’t know him before running off. When his friends finally track him to his apartment, they find an unfinished letter, answering their questions (with a preface of that it’s hard for him to say the words out loud). They also find signs of a fight. They don’t find Douxie.

He finds them days later, except his eyes are entirely green/gold (which of the two depends on if this is an evil!Merlin scenario or a true villain!Morgana scenario) because he’s getting controlled. He tries to kill them. He can’t. The five of them are strong enough to avoid getting killed by him.

They get Claire involved, so that she can try and see what’s up with his soul. He’s not fighting back against the mind control, which means that either Mordred wants the others dead, and is letting himself be a puppet. Or, it means that Douxie’s exhausted and lonely, and he just wants his seemingly-former friends to kill him. It looks like the only thing that could get him to fight back is if he were to fatally injure one of them, assuming that he’s exhausted and not that he wants them dead. It looks like at least one of them has to die. No one wants to kill him, but none of them want to die either, and they have no proof that letting Mordred live while one of them dies would be kinder, or would fix Douxie.

Except, Krel realizes that there might be another option. He integrates with Gaylen’s core, but before he can do so his friends try to talk him out of it. Krel smiles sadly at them, and states that he won’t die if Mordred kills him, since it’s not like Mordred has access to the components of Seklos’s Cannon. He also really specifies that one of the reasons why they’re all in this mess is because of how they reacted. One of the others comments that Krel really cares about Douxie, and Krel’s smile becomes less sad. He integrates with the core, and in the next fight they have with Mordred Krel lures him away and traps the two of them in an empty room that only Krel can get them in and out of.

Krel lays down his serrator. Mordred stabs him, and then begins to freak out. His eyes flash between blue and green/gold in horror. Krel’s wound heals, and he grabs onto Mordred’s hands as well as hugs him. Krel reveals how much he cares for Mordred/Douxie, constantly switching between the two names while talking to him so that Mordred understands that Krel loves all of him, not just the persona he’s been putting on for the couple years since he killed his father. This is able to finally give him the strength to fight back and break free of the mind control.

oh no no no i did watch the whole show haha (and started a rewatch with my sister who is watching it for the first time) it's just. sometimes i look at gifsets and they give me so much serotonin i want to rewatch those moments in vid form? but i also know i will Spiral and. not stop watching. and feed braingoblin more reason to hyperfocus on buddie. which! i love the ship but also am afraid that the show will then turn into just them and i don't want that bc one of the great things is that i love everyone on the show? idk if that makes sense but that's just my brain😂😅 tho i gotta say I got some fire songs from all the bones and mcabby fanvids i watched when i was 12-ish. most notably almost lovers by a fine frenzy, everytime we touch by cascada, and angels by the xx. also like i think the hungergames caused me to know boats and birds by gregory and the hawk, just like the raven cycle was dear fellow traveller by sea wolf and the willow tree march by the paper kites and merlin was king and lionheart by of monsters and men. and teen wolf was like i could live with dying (which is like i think in 2x12???) and uh who are you really by mikky ekko. oh! and above the clouds of pompeii by bears den! all in all i think i've just discovered that i can kinda sort my interests re: series by a few distinct songs 😂 oh god supernatural was like a very soft cover of can't help falling in love by.. ingrid michaelson??? also bad moon rising bc it's in like s1 and the first time i heard it (the creedence clearwater revival version, not whatever dark techno cover they used in teen wolf)

I actually know exactly what you mean by that! Part of the reason I took a break in the very beginning of S4 was precisely for that reason. I was worried that I would get too much of a Buddie tunnel vision and not enjoy all the other elements of the show anymore. It hasn't happened yet! Every time I play a new episode, I just get reminded by how much I love every single part of it. But I still worry about it! So I totally get where you're coming from :)
