Dua Amun-Ra!
He who is the unseen and the seen
You rise as the golden one
Your warmth embraces me
You kiss me as the breeze
You create the land, none comes before you
Your majesty cannot be defeated
You fill my nose with the breath of life
You are the ruler of eternity
You drive out all evil
Your light strengthens me
Your presence fills me
I am overtaken with awe of you

Due to limited space, my shrine is confined to a closet, but…
LOOKIT ALL THOSE GODS!!!!
From back left to right; Anubis, Sekhmet-Mut, Hathor-Nut, Bast, Mafdet, Wepwawet, Shezmu, (itty bitty) Amun-Ra, Nefertem, Wenut, Tefnut, Pakhet, Duamutef, and Anupet!
Front: Serqet!
Currently awaiting a proper statue for Amun-Ra, and need to get Mama Anupet a bigger jackal (I thought the itty bitty one was gonna be as big as Dad and Wep’s 😭) but!! It feels SOOO good to have Them all represented somehow!! 💜
Dua Netjeru!
Also please excuse the fuzz and ashes on the shrine cloth, I own a lot of black faux fur that sheds on everything, and ashes are kinda par for the course with incense smh

O' Amun-Re,
Concealed in my heart,
Even as my feet move forward,
tracing the path towards new sands,
you stand with me,
knowing my travels will take me to and fro.
You know my heart lies,
in many lands,
yet you keep me close,
and my praises are sung
in thanks for your warmth.

So um I may have 'made' something. u/Eternalspace1969 made images of many egyptian deities and posted them on Reddit for free use. Considering there were none of Apedemak and Aman I decided to try my hand at editing some of his images to make their representations. So here they are!
Lord Apedemak

Lord Aman

and Lady Amesemi

He has uploaded his own drawings on wikimedia, I really recommend checking them out!

Amun-Ra, The Hidden One
Honestly one of my favorite gods to draw. I get Him heavily as a cosmic ram, the creator of everything, but He is still very much The Hidden One, too! Shown here both in cosmic form and a more hidden/obscured form :3

After 3 days in Cairo, Leah and I were on the move! We boarded a chartered prop jet with our fellow river cruisers and flew to Luxor, to greet the Viking Ra–currently tied up alongside the Nile’s east bank. Ra was to be our floating hotel through the following week. After attending an obligatory safety briefing aboard Ra, we were soon exploring Luxor and it’s ancient counterpart, Thebes–home…

its time for!! (after like 3 days)
🥁🥁🥁…
STAR! DOES! FACTS!
you miss me? because i did too!!
todays facts will be…
ANCIENT EGYPTIAN MYTHOLOGY!!
yippee!!
now, let’s get into the facts, shall we?
1. Who were the 9 main gods of Egypt? The nine Ennead gods of Egypt are Atum, Shu, Tefnut, Geb, Nut, Osiris, Isis, Seth, and Nephthys. They are the family of Atum the god of the sun, and are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of the sun god, Ra
2. Since Anubis is the god of death, does that make him evil? Actually it doesn’t! The Egyptian people viewed him as a good, protective deity. Anubis was portrayed with the color black, symbolizing regeneration and the Nile river's fertile soil
3. How many total gods were worshipped? There were well over 2,000 gods and goddesses worshipped in Ancient Egyptian mythology!
4. Most gods had the body of a human and the head of an animal! For example, Lady Bastet with her cat head and Sekhmet with her lioness head.
5. Who is the most well known God? That title goes to Amun-Ra, the sun god and also the god of creation. Amun-Ra is also the protector of the pharaoh, who is often depicted as an embodiment of Amun-Ra
6. Are there any lesser known gods? Yes! One of the more lesser known ones are Geb, who is the personification of the earth, god of healing colds, fevers, and scorpion stings. It is said that his laughter supposedly caused earthquakes.
that is all folks for…
STAR! DOES! FACTS!
tomorrows facts will be about
ROMAN MYTHOLOGY !!
one of my personal favorites
see you all tomorrow!

Almaqah or Almuqh was the Moon god of the ancient Yemeni kingdom of Saba'. He was also worshipped in Dʿmt and Aksum in Ethiopia and Eritrea.
Tumblr media
Almaqah is considered a moon god, but Garbini and Pirenne have shown that the bull's head and the vine motif associated with him may have solar and dionysiac attributes. He was therefore a priest of Ra, the male counterpart of the sun goddess Shamash / Ishtar / Isis, who was also venerated in Saba, but as a tutelary goddess of the royal Egyptian dynasty
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The ruling dynasty of Saba' regarded themselves as his seed.Almaqah is represented on monuments by a cluster of lightning bolts surrounding a curved, sickle-like weapon. Bulls were sacred to him.
Tumblr media
Ethiopia is dedicated to the lunar God Almaqah, and contains an altar which represents a miniature model of the Great Temple in Yeha.
