More Aphrodite facts!! ^ ^

⭑ The Aphrodite of Knidos was sculpted during the 4th century BCE.

⭑ Aphrodite has 17 known children based on ancient literature and text! These children include Eros, Phobos, Peitho, Priapus, the Three Graces, Aeneas, Hermaphroditus, and more.

⭑ Some of her symbols include but are not limited to: Golden apples, the evening star, the number 5, eggs, and the triangle.

⭑ There is a flower named after Aphrodite! The Calycanthus Aphrodite, or also known as the sweetshrub, is greatly valued for its sweet and fruity floral fragrance.

⭑ There are actually more artworks of Aphrodite than any other classical mythological creature!

⭑ Aphrodite’s name has been spelled and officially recognized in many different ways! Some of these alternative names include Afrodite and Afroditi. In Greece, she is also known as Acida’lia which is derived from the well of Acidalius located near Orchomenos. This place is also known to be a place where Aphrodite used to bathe with the Three Graces. She is also known as Acraea in other temples and Ambologe-ra in Sparta.

⭑ Pomegranates were also once associated with Aphrodite!

⭑ When Aphrodite was created, she was immediately in her adult form. There are no records of Aphrodite in her infancy or childhood, nor are there any mentions of such in ancient Greek texts and mythologies.

“I’m a twin”, Damian said one night. He could feel the narrowed eyes of his family drilling holes on his back in disbelief. Not that he could blame them. Damian had never so much as implied being raised with a companion, much less a sibling.

“I had a brother”. Damian paused to recollect himself. He had not said his brother’s name out loud in over 8 years.

“His name was… Danyal”. Damian hated the way his voice wavered, but he could not help it. Danyal was everything to him, his other half. Their heart beat as one and when one heart stopped beating, the other one died with it. At least until his family put his heart on metaphorical life support without ever realizing.

“Where is he now?” His father asked, voice filled with knowing grief and a hint of betrayal. It had in fact been 6 years since Damian first showed up on his doorstep.

“Up there”. All eyes shifted towards the specific star he was pointing to. “Right before he died, he promised me he’d guide me from the stars. Unfortunately, the stars are not visible in Gotham, so my brother is unable to be of much help unless I leave the city.”

“Your brother is Polaris, the North Star?” Tim questioned warily, most likely in attempts to not offend him. Damian was aware of how stupid it sounded, but Danyal had promised, and his brother never broke his promises.

“Yes. Danyal is with the stars now, just as he always wanted”

Honestly it would be hilarious if there’s like a 1-5% of Siffrin forgetting about any trap, even if they set it up, and having to deal with the consequences.

this happens. pretty frequently!!! most often it occurs because of Siffrin’s own negligence or rushed actions (such as fleeing from the party without checking their surroundings first).

The party learns what traps Siffrin falls victim to pretty quickly, so these deaths are usually a one-time occurrence! There just happens to be. A lot of them.

People have probably already pointed this out, but it's only recently hit me that all the clones were basically 20 (or younger) at the start of the Clone Wars. So there's all these commanders and whatnot who seems serious and experienced and grizzly, and they're not even old enough to drink yet. I'm almost 20, and I barely know what's going on. These guys are in high ranking military positions! I see Cody and Rex in the pilot movie, and I'll randomly remember that these guys are basically my age. I know they have had a lifetime of training, but this is ridiculous. I can't even take them that seriously anymore because of this. These guys are way too young for this.

Then again, they did also make the literal teenage Padawans into commanders, so maybe the 20 y/o is an upgrade.

personally, i think phainon has more potential to be yandere than mydei in a romantic relationship

while mydei’s feelings are intense and pure and fierce, phainon would be so sticky and truly spare no expense in ensuring you’re happy and safe, he would get insecure and jealous if you paid attention to others more than him and whine until you give him hugs and kisses (metaphorical tail wagging), he needs a daily dose of your affection or he gets sad, he tells you he loves you and needs reassurance that you do too

because of you, he HAS to return from any missions outside okhema and make sure everything is okay, he would lose his smile and turn apoplectic if he learnt something dangerous was out to get you

let’s say that the trailblazer and dan heng’s arrival to okhema during the beginning of amphoreus was with a more off his rockers phainon

Oh, hm, I properly realized that Obi-Wan never finds out about the Tusken massacre in the prequel trilogy. Now I'm imagining an immediately post-Ep3 scene on Tatooine, in which Owen or Beru is forced to reference it as it relates to other occupational hazards on Tatooine, and Obi-Wan has to be like, "I beg your fucking pardon???"

And they're reluctantly like, "You know, that time that Anakin, your student, came back to Tatooine after his poor mother had been taken by the Sand People? He singlehandedly killed that big group of them down to the last child, dozens of them, and then took off right afterwards. Big mess. It was about four years ago now. Just before the Clone Wars started. Is that, uh, is that normal for you Jedi people, by the way?" And Obi-Wan has to say, "No. No, it is fucking not."

So the Larses are, at least, incredibly relieved. They didn't want that kind of thing to happen around here again and were a little worried about this Kenobi guy starting that up again. Big mess, don't you know? Everyone in their corner of Tatooine heard about it. People a few towns over heard about it. Anakin and that Padmé woman really never said anything?

Obi-Wan, already reeling from Anakin's recent betrayal and suddenly having to re-evaluate the late Padmé's entire character as well, in the flattest tone of voice that anyone has ever used: "No, I can't say that she ever mentioned it. How odd."

3. How many total gods were worshipped? There were well over 2,000 gods and goddesses worshipped in Ancient Egyptian mythology!

4. Most gods had the body of a human and the head of an animal! For example, Lady Bastet with her cat head and Sekhmet with her lioness head.

5. Who is the most well known God? That title goes to Amun-Ra, the sun god and also the god of creation. Amun-Ra is also the protector of the pharaoh, who is often depicted as an embodiment of Amun-Ra

6. Are there any lesser known gods? Yes! One of the more lesser known ones are Geb, who is the personification of the earth, god of healing colds, fevers, and scorpion stings. It is said that his laughter supposedly caused earthquakes.

Everyone, even the writers, forget that Tuvok was with Janeway when she decided to save the Ocampa and doom them all to a seventy year journey home with the double edged sword she was given AND that Tuvok is stated by her to be her most trusted advisor, the only one in that situation who may have been able to convince her to take a different path - but he doesn't. He tells her that the prime directive seems to apply to the situation (Helping the Ocampa here definitely does change the trajectory of their species) and She retorts that they've been dragged into the situation and thus, having already become involved, are obligated to help. Tuvok doesn't seem to say anything more, agreeing with this line of thought. I wish future episodes addressed the fact that Janeway wasn't alone when she made that highly controversial initial decision. This is also, to me, another sign of Tuvok's extraordinary amount of belief in and loyalty towards Janeway. Let's throw our lives away together, to help these people. I believe you can get us home and I believe you can keep us safe. Let's jump to our doom together, holding hands, reassured (because you're there, jumping with me) that we've made the right choice.
