Okay but now I feel compelled to wonder, in that fun AU of CC and Marilyn being Captain and Mary Marvel, what their lives as heroes would be like
Like, villains are the same for the most part with probable lack of antagonism with Sivana, he’s the dude who hired them for the dog in the first place with the public intent of a historical attraction at a park and on the side of the bus he’s campaigning for mayor. Other than that, villains seem to be the same from the brief moments we see.
They stay out of the limelight, they prioritize keeping their identities hidden for the sake of Billy and Mary’s saftey and childhoods, and they take their duties seriously.
But what’s tingling at the brain right now is how they’d interact with the rest of the world of DC, heroes and teams and whatnot, outside of Fawcett and the menagerie of characters there. We know CC accidentally stumbled onto some daring scene with Spy Smasher and the bunch (no joke, time was funky in Fawcett and CC was alive at that time) but I’d love to see him with other heroes
Like, say he fills the normal roles in comics Billy would’ve, joins JLI and, like his son, tries calling the other heroes out for acting like bigger juveniles than his actual kids and ditches bc apparently the people who save the world on the regular cant not try and fist fight the other every few hours. He’s on and off some team, focusing on his city and his family more and more, pops in for bigger fights when they occur but is mostly hometown based and handles his own issues.
Of newer stuff, I turn to YJ’s tv show for another idea. Aka, CC also being a chaperone for the Team at the same time Billy comes in but with a twist, turns out his kids have a percolation for magic and have been getting the hang of some spells so they’re joining the Team too while CC is on chaperone duty. So leads Billy and Mary’s attempt at a slow entrance into heroism that immediately backfires when they get captured, cue heartwarming scene of dad hugging his kids after a dangerous situation that follows him tearing the base apart looking for them. True dad fashion and all that. What becomes complicated is the World Without Grown Ups plot, in which I say have Billy and his had pre-the plot agree that Billy can have Shazam powers for super big emergencies and Billy definitely counts all adults disappearing as an emergency. Cue once more the fun father son bonding of Billy looking just like his old man with Shazam powers.
Onto Marilyn, who unfortunately doesn’t seem to have more beyond “clever” and “good mom” from comics, but she’s got her hutzpah and would probably be as active a hero as CC while still prioritizing her life and family over heroism. The whole Shazam thing is definitely more a job than it is what kind of person she is, she’s an archeologist and likes that profession more than she likes worrying about everyone else. She’s definitely more no nonsense and, if there’s a difference, she’d probably prefer the more grounded crime fighting than the mystical shenanigans CC would do in her stead. Billy and Mary end up closer to her in quality time since that focus of crime fighting keeps her grounded.
Also, the general vibes of the Captain Marvel tropes. Such as the identity shenanigans.
It is a fun thing of fanfic that, since his civilian identity is very vulnerable and people like their identity plots, Billy has his questioned or revealed a lot. Add in CC as Marvel instead and it flips a bit to be a man who is well known in his home city whose entire family, non-powered children included, could easily become targets if anyone knew who he was. And he’s deliberately secretive about it for that purpose, he’s protecting his children with his wife. So, perspective, there’s a new hero who comes in with a hero partner who is also their life partner. They have the power of actual gods and titans, they don’t explain anything past some nebulous Wizard they can’t name as to how they got their powers, they are very hush-hush on their normal lives but everyone knows they have to have one. It’s hard to contact them, you don’t know they’re working or traveling or with their kids because you don’t know they do work or that they have kids, so you worry what they’re up to for what seems to be every hour they aren’t begrudgingly saving the world with the rest of the heroes. You catch them talking to the other but the minute they hear you they clam up and change everything about how they were just a second ago, you could swear they were talking about digs or gods or bringing someone home but you don’t know anything because you don’t know them.
Cue the mistrust, the reveals, how it all goes wrong and someone gets hurt, be it the other when they don’t have their powers or their kids and suddenly you’ve pissed off the man who loves his family so much he was tearing the multiverse open to try and keep the timeline going where they were all alive and happy together and the woman who loves those kids just as much. Or, say that reveal had villains get both of the Batsons, and now those heroes have to look those orphans in the eye and beg forgiveness, and when fate still demands its heroes out comes two new ones that make it seem like the whole Batson sham was fake and no way Marilyn and CC were the Marvels, the marvels are still flying around after they’ve gone and gotten dead and buried. Cue those heroes looking at the new Captain and Mary Marvel, knowing it’s the kids they accidentally made orphans wearing the faces of the friends they betrayed.
#somebody sedate me#this was supposed to be fun and it turned to angst against my will#cc would be so sassy and I’d love it#PoS was around the time of Jason being dead so…#classic Robin arguments with the real good Bat-dad vs the grieving Bat-dad#Bruce gives any parenting advice and CC bites back with: Thanks but I’d rather listen to a dad who didn’t let multiple of his sidekicks die#Bruce and CC would not get along is what I’m saying. secrecy and parenting techniques aside#gal pals Diana and Marilyn tho#both talk about their work and friendships with WW2 vets#also you know that thing of actors who play heroes not being their kids favorite hero? that. Retellings is one thing, there's also this obsession with making the Greek Gods and Heroes as other races beside Greek. Like why the need to reimagined this Gods/Heroes like you? Why they need to have body shape/hairs/colour like you? Don't you know that these are cultural figures from the country it hail from?
Like never in my life I want to see Aphrodite looking like me or my people, I have my OWN mythology! If I want a mythology figure that show my culture and society, I just turn to my folktales. Why did the Greek mythos suddenly bear the burden to represent every single person/nation on earth?
You wanna claim that bc Greek mythology is mainstream? I think there's more nuances to it, bc no one in this world know my culture lore except the people from my own country but it doesn't stop us from appreciating our mythos and figures. And if we want to look at our own representation, we just look at our own culture. It's mind-blowing to me that these people can't do the same, and they feel the need to project their identity on another culture instead of embracing theirs.
☝️☝️☝️THIS! JUST THIS ANON!!! ☝️☝️☝️
Honestly I am not sure how is that even considered "empowering" or "representation" to swap existing characters with known background like this! Honestly if someone race swapped the amazing African Orishas to look like Greeks because "we need representations of Greeks in media" I would be insulted. I would be like "why? Ain't greek mythology important enough to create so that you need to insert my myths to African pantheon?"
And I have been called a racist for saying that! As well as other people who say the same as me too 🙄 like if you claim that "whitewashing" is so evil and erasing culture then how is it okay to do the opposite to Greeks (or even depict them as the other end of the spectrum like as if they are Norse vikings or something lol). And usually they do not use the excuse of "universality" or "mainstream" their favorite excuse is:
"There were black people in Greece and they deserve to be represented"
In other words they claim they are right and that anyone who disagrees is a bigot and a racist (the usual formula that is) and so they indeed hire literally any other kind of actors but Greeks or at least Italian and Balkan descend and they do not even make an effort to cast someone that remotely looks like the part sometimes (for example they casted The Rock to play Heracles in 2015. But at least they made an effort with makeup and the lighting of the film to make him remotely look like the part and the casting didn't appear bad or out of place to the degree it is nowadays)
So for once even if that were true (and so far we do not have plenty of archeological evidence for it) they were still considered foreigners and they were not always mingling with society. Where? Athens? Where foreigners even from other GREEK cities were not allowed to live within the walls? Sparta? That didn't allow anyone in their closed society? And we have no clue what was going on in Mycenaean world. But we know ancient myths were including people that Greeks were familiar with.
But do you still wanna go with your little hypothesis that let's say an Egyptian and a Greek had a kid that is mixed? Go ahead and create an original character with an original story. Why race swap an existing one with known story. I swear once I saw someone race swap Antigone. ANTIGONE! The woman was as inbred as she couldn't be more.
Another excuse they use is the modern day Greeks that are born out of immigrants. Are they less of Greeks than I am because they are of different ethnicity? Absolutely not. They are as Greek as I am nationally. They are born in Greece educated in Greece live in Greece. Are they ethnically Greek? No. There is a difference there. And antiquity especially heroes and characters with known backgrounds being race swapped is the same as me race swapping African Orisha with the excuse that "Greeks existed in Africa" instead of me creating an original character of it
And Greeks existed in Africa. We find cities of Greeks in north Africa all the time. Even Odysseus proves this. Lotus Eaters were probably Tynisian. We have Memnon the king of Ethiopia who has an entire poem dedicated to his people in Epic Cycle called "Aithiopis". Why isn't anyone properly representing those? Why do they feel the need to race swap existing characters to achieve that? And I couldn't have said it better Anon! Suddenly greek mythology becomes responsible to represent every nation on earth...instead of focusing at the amazing nations and their stories or myths.
If again the scream bloody murder on how extremely disrespectful old Hollywood was for not representing cultures properly then why are they doing it now? And if what they do is okay thanks to their excuse then why do they scream bloody murder for old Hollywood?
Which is it?
#katerinaaqu answers#greek mythology#mythology retellings#just a little runt#if other nations deserve proper representation (and they do) so do greeks

Top 5 Versions of The Mummy
The culture and iconography of Ancient Egypt has been fascinating to more modern minds for many decades. Perhaps its peak of prominence was with the discovery of the resting place of Tutankhamun, a.k.a. King Tut’s Tomb. Among the many, MANY reasons this moment in archaeological history became so famous was because of the rumors of a supposed curse, placed upon the King’s burial chamber, which swore all who disturbed the dead pharaoh’s slumber would suffer a terrible fate. This rumored curse seemed proven when various people connected to the expedition began dropping like flies not so long after the digging was done. While most people accept that King Tut’s Curse is a totally fictitious urban legend, the mystique surrounding the discovery, the rumored hex, and the rising interest in Egyptology as a whole all sort of blended to create an increasing popularity in the use of the subject for works of mystery and horror in fiction. This fascination has never really disappeared, and nowhere is this more obvious than in one recurring monster in fiction: the living mummy. Mummies as walking corpses, spurred on by ancient curses and old superstitions, have been around in fiction since the Victorian era. However, the concept reached its xenith in the early 1930s, when Universal released their famous horror flick, simply called “The Mummy”: the story of a long-buried evil, and a strange romance, returning to wreak havoc on the modern world. I was initially going to talk about Mummies as a whole with this countdown for my October specials…but after much consideration, I realized how difficult that would really be. It’s a bit like talking about Dracula AND other vampires in the same list: you know that one is going to dominate the ranks, and it’s also hard to compare good and heroic characters to the more traditional monster. Perhaps I’ll do a second list about other Mummy characters in the future, but for now, I decided to just focus my list on THE Mummy: the specific, branded property handled by Universal. This franchise, and its lead Mummy figure, have evolved over the years quite a lot. In fact, not only have multiple actors played the creature over the decades - from Lon Chaney Jr. to Tom Tyler - but it’s not even the same Mummy in every single movie. With that in mind, I’m going to base this countdown on a few questions: which Mummies were the most interesting from a character perspective? Which were the most frightening from a horror perspective? Finally, which ones just appeared in the best stories from a writing perspective? With that said, here are My Top 5 Favorite Versions of The Mummy!
5. Michael Reid MacKay, from Monster Squad (1987).
This is the only Mummy on the list whose given name isn’t offered, as well as the only Mummy who isn’t part of a specific line of films. “Monster Squad” was the Universal Monsters’ response to successes like “The Goonies” and “Ghostbusters.” In fact, the film was literally described as being a combination of those two movies! The plot focuses on a group of kid-and-teen heroes working together to stop the classic Monsters, who have all joined forces with Dracula in a plan to - of course - take over the world. One of the things that made the film popular was the way it updated the designs of the Monsters, making several of them more viscerally unsettling and threatening in appearance. The Mummy was no exception: the costume and makeup for MacKay’s Mummy really does make him seem more gnarled, twisted up, and withered than any other Mummy before, while also making him fittingly unnerving in the scenes where he goes on the attack. He’s one of the creepiest Mummies out there, but he sadly gets taken out pretty easily, and is the first of the Monsters to be properly defeated. As a result, as much as I love MacKay’s physical performance and the outfit he’s in, I don’t think I can rank this version too highly.
4. Eddie Powell, from The Mummy’s Shroud (1967).
After Hammer’s adaptations of “Frankenstein” and “Dracula” turned out to be successful, Universal - who were Hammer’s U.S.A. distributors for a while - gave the UK-based studio the rights to use some elements from their films and adapt them in their own fashion. For the most part, Hammer still did their own thing, but this did give them the opportunity to do their own take on the Mummy franchise. However, while most of the Universal Mummy films followed a loose continuity, there is NO continuity between ANY of the Hammer Mummy movies. All of them are standalone pieces, which just so happen to share similar plot elements and themes. Of all the latter Hammer Mummy movies, “The Mummy’s Shroud” is my favorite. The Mummy in this case (no pun intended) is called Prem; played by actor and stuntman Eddie Powell in the bandages, and by Dickie Owen in flashback scenes (Owen previously played the Mummy in another film). His backstory is a little different from others before him: instead of being a lover-out-of-time, determined to avenge his long lost darling, Prem is the bodyguard and devoted caretaker of a young prince, who died during childhood. Prem is sworn to guard the body of his young charge even after death. When a snobby aristocrat desecrates the tomb, and accidentally brings Prem back to life, a wave of murder and terror ensues. The twist to the Mummy’s motivations is interesting to me, and I also like Prem’s design, with his facemask and unique wrappings actually being inspired by the real life Mummy at the British museum. This film seems to be considered one of the weakest of the Hammer films, but I personally enjoy it…of course, the fact that the Master from Doctor Who is controlling the Mummy probably helps. No joke, look it up.
3. Boris Karloff, from The Mummy (1932).
The one that started it all. What’s interesting is that the popular perception of the Mummy - a shriveled, withered, bandaged, staggering creature - isn’t really present in the original film at all. After the initial resurrection scene, where Karloff’s Mummy isn’t even seen walking onscreen, the character spends most of the movie looking (relatively) normal, apparently revitalized, although still very stiff and wrinkly. In this case, the Mummy is Imhotep: an architect and high priest from Ancient Egypt, who fell in love with his pharaoh’s princess. Heartbroken by his beloved’s death, Imhotep tried to bring her back, but was caught in the act and punished for his blasphemy and insubordination. When he is reawakened, Imhotep goes on a quest to seek out the reincarnation of his lost love. This, for the record, is the basic motivation most versions of the Mummy have been given, including the two above Karloff. The original Mummy movie owes a lot to Universal’s earlier success of Dracula, featuring several of the same plot points and cast members playing the same basic roles. (Edward Van Sloan, for example, plays Van Helsing in Dracula, and plays a character who is pretty much Diet Van Helsing in this movie.) It’s also a bit slow in places, mostly due to its age. However, Karloff’s performance - equal parts intensely creepy, even now, and genuinely tender in his romantic desires - still holds up strongly. Ironically, just as Dracula inspired the Mummy, the Mummy would inspire later versions of Dracula: Dan Curtis, Francis Ford Coppola, and multiple other takes on the vampire would use the same idea of an undead lover seeking his reincarnated bride in future adaptations. “The circle is now complete.”
2. Arnold Vosloo, from The Mummy (1999) AND The Mummy Returns (2001).
When most people nowadays think of the title “The Mummy,” this is probably the version they think of first. Heck, for a long time, this was the version I thought of, even before Karloff! In the late 90s and early 2000s, Universal and filmmaker Stephen Sommers seemed to want to try and upgrade the Universal Monsters franchise, by bringing out of the world of Gothic horror and more into the vein of action/adventure; more like Indiana Jones than anything else. The 1999 film, starring Brendan Fraser as adventurer Rick O’Connell, proved a big hit, and led to a whole franchise of Mummy-related things, including sequel films, a cartoon show, a spin-off series of movies called “The Scorpion King,” and even an attraction at the Universal Studios theme parks! While Fraser as the hero gets a lot of attention, it’s also worth mentioning Arnold Vosloo as the central antagonist of the franchise: the Mummy himself, once again named Imhotep. This version shares the same basic backstory as the Karloff version, but with a few new twists. First, Vosloo’s Imhotep is a bit more evil, as he not only plans to bring back his lost love, but also wishes to - what else? - take over the world, and rule by her side. Second, this Imhotep is able to become younger and more handsome by devouring the souls of other human beings, thus turning them into Mummies in turn. The more souls he consumes, the more powerful Imhotep becomes, able to control the elements, as well as being able to show off some sick fighting moves when necessary. As a kid, I was honestly terrified of Vosloo’s Mummy; I literally had nightmares about him destroying me and those I loved, no joke. As an adult…I’d be lying if I said I found him, or…most things in these films scary anymore (except for the Scarabs, those things are freaking HORRIFYING), but he’s still a very memorable action film antagonist, and while all of these movies have their flaws, several of them are still extremely entertaining.
1. Christopher Lee, from The Mummy (1959).
This was Hammer’s first foray into the Mummy franchise, following their agreement with Universal. In a way, it feels like a sort of crossroads between the slow, looming, creeping menace of Universal’s earlier movies and the more spectacular, action-packed, adventurous spirit of the Sommers films. The story and characters are sort of a conglomeration of elements from the whole Universal series beforehand, taking the best bits from each and combining them into one movie. At first, that sounds like a recipe for disaster, but the combination of excellent casting, opulent cinematography, great effects and stunts (especially for the time), and a well-crafted script described as a combination of “Egyptology and Razzmatazz” makes for a really fun, thrilling movie. At the center of the action is Christopher Lee as the titular Mummy, here given the name “Kharis.” Once again, the Mummy is a tragic lover, who was gruesomely punished for crimes of heresy when he tried to resurrect his precious princess, Ananka. Years later, he is resurrected by the mad cultist Mehemet Bay, who uses Kharis to punish a group of archaeologists who dug up Ananka’s tomb. Covered from head to toe in Mummy makeup, Lee nevertheless delivers a powerful, multi-layered performance. While he lacks the sorcerer-like abilities of either take on Imhotep, he is probably the most intimidating Mummy on a physical level. So much of what Lee does comes simply from the smallest of gestures, combined with the power of his eyes; he is able to go from a dead-eyed stare, to a look of vengeful rage, to a tortured expression of pained remorse and anguished love, all in the span of seconds. The 1959 version of the Mummy is my personal favorite reimagining, even more than the rip-roaring excitement of the Sommers films. A big part of the reason why comes from Lee as Kharis: by far My Favorite Version of The Mummy. (Mummy) Case Closed.
HONORABLE MENTIONS…
Valerie Leon, from Blood From the Mummy’s Tomb (1971).
Long before the “Dark Universe” attempt in 2017, this Hammer production tried to twist the tale by making the requisite princess of the story into the monster. However, despite the title, Valerie Leon’s “Mummy” - Queen Tera - isn’t TECHNICALLY a Mummy at all, so I wasn’t sure how much she should really count.
Jim Cummings, from The Mummy: The Animated Series.
This somewhat forgotten cartoon show was spun-off from the first two Stephen Sommers films, and supposedly takes place in the same continuity. However, in this show, Imhotep has learned how to speak English. Aside from the speech matters, this is SUPPOSEDLY the same character played by Vosloo, and I therefore wasn’t wholly sure how much he should count.
Eddie Parker, from Abbott & Costello Meet the Mummy.
In my opinion, none of the black-and-white Mummy films following the original really hold a candle to Karloff’s inaugural presentation. No matter who wears the bandages and makeup, they just don’t have the same presence or level of character and threat. I give Parker’s Mummy, here called “Klaris,” a free pass for the simple fact that this movie is meant to be a comedy: if the Mummy is a bit of a klutz, at least it matches the tone.

DAP Health’s 2023 Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards | The Standard
The Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards, DAP Health’s biggest annual fundraiser, also fondly known as The Chase returns to dazzle donors outdoors at the Palm Springs Convention Center on the evening of Saturday, March 25. Fashion, medicine, and music will take center stage at the starry annual benefit gala.

Up Close with Headliner Darren Criss
Darren Criss — the 36-year-old “Glee” alum who won an Emmy, a Golden Globe, and a Screen Actors Guild Award for playing gay serial killer Andrew Cunanan in Ryan Murphy’s “The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story” — may be making his professional desert debut when he headlines the 2023 The Chase for DAP Health, but he’s no stranger to the Coachella Valley. Since he reports he has a “significant amount of family in the Palm Desert,” he’s somewhat of a regular. “I’ve got all my favorite spots, let’s put it that way.” He even made it to fellow performer Harry Styles’ last North American “Love On Tour” stop (and impromptu birthday bash) on February 1 at the new Acrisure Arena.
I chatted with Criss over Zoom while he was in Los Angeles to talk about what we can expect at his show, his love of all things show biz, and his ties to queer audiences.
Tell me a bit about the show you’ll be presenting at The Chase.
When I have the opportunity to play events like this, which are very fun — I know The Chase is very big and I’m very thrilled to be there — I’m the court jester. I’m just making sure I’m servicing people having a good time. So, I tend to stray away from deep cuts [in favor of] any smattering of things that people would be familiar with from, Broadway or the stuff I did on “Glee” or just covers in general that are fun to play and that kind of seem appropriate for the vibe. I’m notorious about not coming up with a set list until a few days before. I’ll have a band [that night], so I have to be a little more fastidious with the organizing of that. The nice thing about being a musician is you’re your own accompanist. If this was just me, I wouldn’t have an answer for you. Maybe about an hour before I went on stage — ’cause I would go to the party, kind of get a vibe from people, have a couple drinks — I’d go, “OK, I think I get the playlist,” and then I’d just do it… I’d just show up and try to make people happy. You can quote me on that.
Acting, singing, or songwriting and producing — what would you say is your favorite?
That’s a great question, because usually the question is, “Which one do you consider yourself?” And my answer is, they’re all the same because they’re all connected. They’re all storytelling. It’s just different tailoring. Different dress codes. But it’s the same party, the same venue….
You know, I’ve been very lucky, where I’ve gotten to do everything. I will say the most fulfilling would probably have to be songwriting…. Songwriting and producing probably consume most of my soul.
Talking acting, is it film, TV, or theatre?
Nice work if you can get it. Listen, I’m a mercenary. I’ll be very happy to have the opportunity to work in any of those fields if they invite me to the party. Lucky me. And I’m always grateful and cherish every opportunity that comes my way. Obviously, I come from the theatre, so it kind of has my heart and soul because there is an immediacy to it. So, yeah, that might be the leading player on the field.
Between “Glee,” Ryan Murphy, and Broadway, you clearly have a lot of queer fans. Thoughts?
I think the simple answer is I’ve always felt so privileged to be included at what I deem to be the cool kids table. And that’s not me trying to be charming or sucking up to a certain demographic. I’ve spent a lifetime chasing my heroes, wanting to have the people I think are cool think I’m cool. And I’ve worked very hard for that. I’ve educated myself. I’ve tried to cultivate my life so that people I respect might go, “Hey, this kid ain’t so bad.” And a huge [number], if not the majority, of those people come from the queer community. I feel very privileged to have anybody’s attention, much less that of a community of people I think are rad. I’m just so pleased to have a seat of the table, and I hope that my conversation is interesting enough to hold their attention and to be worthy of their time.
As you know, The Chase is DAP Health’s largest annual benefit, and the organization began in 1984 as Desert AIDS Project. How have HIV and AIDS touched your life personally?
I was born in the eighties, raised in the nineties, in San Francisco. I’m from a very, very queer city during a very troubled time that didn’t see everybody survive. People’s uncles were dying. I was a little boy. You’d notice, and you’d go, “Wait, what’s going on?” But it’s something that didn’t really hit me until much later in life. When you’re old enough to understand and realize, “Holy shit, that was a pretty insane time.” I’m very lucky because I’m of a generation that got to benefit from the slow de-stigmatization and more healthy conversations around HIV and AIDS. The men and women in my circle who are living with it, when we talk about the sort of dark days of AIDS in the United States, they and I are just supremely aware of the people upon whose shoulders we get to live our day-to-day life. I consider myself very, very lucky.
Well said. Shifting gears to a lighter subject, The Chase can be quite the fashionista extravaganza. So, here’s the most important question: Have you picked out your outfit?
Oh, girl. Um, no. [Laughs] And I’m not proud about it. I gotta get on it. Thanks for reminding me. I gotta get a set list together and an outfit. It’s literally the two things that are required of me. And I don’t have either one right now.

The Untamed Episode 32ish spoilers
I've been real quiet about my thoughts watching The Untamed. I haven't read the novel yet but I've been looking at the fan wiki so I know how different things kinda are. Anyways, I'ma list how I feel about the characters and what not. I am at episode 32 or 33 btw.
Yanli is a sweetheart, an angel, a gift to this Earth AND HOW SHE DIES IS HEART WRENCHING! She just gave birth a month ago, she just lost her husband to some stupid fight, her injury and death is blamed on her kinda innocent brother, IM FURIOUS. She deserved so much more than she got, I knew she died young but not like this!
I never trusted Jin Guangyao from the start, I don't like his face (It's the character, not the actor, the actor is fine). He is shady and from the looks of his wiki page, I was right about my gut feeling.
Jin Zixuan has been a tough guy for me to like, but honestly, as long as he made Jiang Yanli happy, he was decent in my book.
THE HYPOCRATES THE JIN CLAN ARE. Explain to me how they think they can do whatever they want just because they aren't the Wen Clan? Their mentality is that they can do what they want because they believe they're already incapable of doing or being bad, when they should really be having the mentality of avoiding doing bad actions and reflect. Jin Zixun annoyed the hell out of me because he was the main culprit of acting just like he was all high and mighty.
Jin Zixun and the other smaller clans just HAD to point fingers and antagonize somebody, didn't they? Like of course, the Wen clan did terrible things, but you don't kill innocent people! Wei Wuxian didn't need to play the hero, but honestly, who would've stepped up to save them? Everything would've been fine if jin Zixun didn't assume Wei Wuxian cast that spell on him and went for the violent route.
I know Wen Qing doesn't show up as much in the novel, which I'll be sad reading through scenes I expected her to be in after watching The Untamed, but she is one of my favorites. She is innocent, or at least mostly, in my eyes. Her actions were those of "I don't want to exactly get involved, and I also kinda think that my clan is doing some bullsh*t but I can't exactly rebel now can I?". I could be wrong, but she deserved a better fate.
Wen Ning, oh my gosh, he deserved better too, he was such a good kid, SUCH A GOOD KID, and he got abused and basically tortured. He deserves more than to be a ghost puppet.
WEI WUXIAN YOU IDIOT, YOU MADE A PROMISE TO YOUR SISTER, YOU TOLD HER THE THREE OF YOU WOULD BE TOGETHER FOREVER YET YOU RUN OFF SO EASILY TO SAVE THE WEN REMNANTS?! Of course, who would've saved them if not Wei Wuxian, that's not necessarily bad. But he just didn't think twice about the promise he made to Jiang Yanli when he just left like that. Not cool dude. Not. Cool.
I don't hate Jiang Cheng, and I don't love him either. I like him, his actions are valid and especially his thoughts are too. To me he is reasonable and makes judgement based on what the audience sees, so I think he is sometimes portrayed as some angry guy when really, he is reacting to things without knowing the full story.
OOH I JUST KNOW THAT MOFO WHO WAS MAKING THE SPIRITS GO OUT OF CONTROL AT THE NIGHTLESS CITY WAS JIN GUANGYAO. Now, I have no evidence, but hear me out, where TF did he go after all the fighting broke out?
I really wanna write some fanfics of 2-5 chapters of different "What if" scenarios regarding Wei Wuxian's decisions in his life and how things could've been better.
Wen Yuan is so adorable and I will protect him with my life. I don't know too much about how he is as Lan Sizhui (btw, I think he's only an adult in The Untamed because he's around 3 when he was Wen Yuan and 16 passed so he's older compared to the novel which makes him 16 years old as Lan Sizhui. Fact check me please).
The music has me in a choke hold.
I have no opinion on Lan Wangji besides he's cool and Wei Wuxian's biggest supporter.
I care a lot more for Wen Ning, Wen Qing, and Jiang Cheng, Jiang Yanli, and Wei Wuxian relationships being fine and healthy than I do for Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangi. Mostly because we don't get to see the romance in The Untamed but I hope to see that connection and care for their relationship more when I read the novel. Until then, the siblings are all I care about because they're family and they could've been so happy together.
The way I sobbed when the Jiang clan was attacked and the previous Jiang clan leader and his wife died. The way the Jiang siblings were now orphaned and Wei Wuxian was orphaned a second time. (I call all three of them the Jiang siblings, is there another thing I can call them that would make more sense? I know Wei Wuxian was a part of the Jiang clan but he doesn't have the family name nor is he part of the clan anymore.)
Lan Xichen is another one of my favorites. Never hated any of his actions or words for one second. He is so agreeable and likeable for me. Reminds me of how I felt towards Yue Qingyuan when reading SVSSS. 10/10 character, mwah.
Where TF are my Nie Huaisang scenes, he barely shows up and I kinda wanna see him more.
Jin Ling is so adorable as a baby but damn does he take after his uncle.
I find it sweet that even after leaving the clan, Wei Wuxian was still allowed to see Jiang Yanli's wedding dress and even name his nephew. So sweet, I cried at that scene. She was so pretty, she was so generous to give a portion of the soup to Wen Ning and I love her generosity and kindness to the heavens.
I'm not gunna lie, I wasn't expecting Jin Zixun's death to be like how it was but it was kind of deserved? I was a little sad when Jin Zixuan died though, only because Jiang Yanli would be a widow with a newborn. Can't hurt my girl emotionally like that, just can't.
Last but not least, I can't remember his name and that one chick, but that Young Master Wen, I hated his face, his smug look, I think his death was deserved. And that lady he had with him all of the time, so annoying, so pitiful, they did a great job acting because they made me hate their faces.
Oh yeah, and, Wei Wuxian is an idiot, but a thoughtful idiot. I say that affectionally and I don't think he's actually full of himself (my interpretation can be so wrong and I'll realize that later). He does things for others not to look good (or at least that isn't the main concern), but to actually do something that no one else does. He plays the hero because no one else will help. Although, yeah, he does take on big challenges to look cool but at the end of the day, It's not really all for his own gain.
Okay, that's it. See another post like this when I finish Ep. 50 and I can't wait to find access to the animated MDZS!

I went though the trouble of passing the whole thing through Google translate for the server, and i know this is far from perfect, but for now I'd like to introduce you all to my favorite Russian review of Rag Dolly by Таня КОТ.
"On May 22, 2017, the premiere of the play "Rag Doll" based on the play by American playwright William Gibson took place at the Chamber Theater. Participants of the magnificent action are the actors of the senior group of the theater studio "Green Cat". Artistic director - Kuryanova Elena. I must say that I saw a great many performances with the participation of children. But not all of them were for children. Probably, in our modern world, crammed with gadgets, crazy toys and wild entertainment, kids have nothing left to do but love what is presented to them. But there are kind, good fairy tales, instructive films and ... amazing performances, to which I attributed the "Rag Doll". This is the right children's performance, teaching justice, self-sacrifice, the ability to make friends. It would seem that you will not discover anything new in it, and the story is as old as the world - a dying girl, a father kissing a bottle, dolls that come to life exclusively at night. But after all, children are the same at all times: they believe in miracles, look at the world with wide eyes, sleep in an embrace with soft bears, dress up Malvin in formal clothes. And the deeply ill Marcella is no exception. Mad doctors gave her a myriad of diagnoses that contradict each other, prophesied a speedy death: "Fever!" "Cold!" "And fever!" "Nonsense! She has no temperature." "Forty degrees." But how can a young creature die, who never had time to live? Especially in a good children's play. A rag doll, which has no lungs or spine, but has a kind, warm heart, helps Marcella to fight a terrible illness, to believe in a successful outcome. Annie's comrades are just as fearless and wise, except that Andy let us down. He was afraid of the villain's threats. But the prospect of being baked with an apple in your mouth is by no means rosy.Is not it? Fearless friends go to the hospital to the puppet doctor, because only he can help the hopelessly ill Marcella. Reasonable Panda, charming Baby, unfortunate camel are also going on the road. And the benefit of the heroes is in a fairy-tale world, because only in it can the best means of transportation be ... a bed. How difficult it is to reach the goal when trouble lurks at every step. Formerly the beautiful Yum Yum bird, now a fearsome bat, the ferocious wolf was once Marcella's dog. And General W. is that other type from whom you can’t hide and you can’t run away. He dreams of kidnapping the beautiful Marcella. The place of his bride is vacant, but the fatal bat claims it. Such serious passions flared up on the stage. And our brave dolls continued on their way. A witch who wants to hang herself in splendid isolation, who in fact turned out to be Marcella's mother, a magic ring seized from the General, dances that can appease even the uneducated, a pseudo-fish floundering in the depths of the sea - these are the dreams of a little girl. Or is it not a dream at all? It is no longer clear where the dream is and where the harsh reality is. Only the hands of the clock move inexorably forward, and if the puppet doctor does not examine Marcella, she will die at exactly six o'clock. Of course, there can be no sad outcome in THIS story. The toys, lost on the road, met again and embraced each other. And the puppet doctor received Marcella. “She is not sick at all. It's just that her heart is broken,” he delivered a disappointing verdict. Is it possible to reanimate a heart, assemble it into pieces and make it beat joyfully again? “We all make mistakes, baby. You have to be able to forgive,” perhaps this is the secret to a happy and long life. It was through forgiveness that Marcella found peace… and felt better. And Annie sacrificed her heart, because she is a true friend: faithful, sincere and reliable. And besides, dolls do not die, which cannot be said about girls. The story ended, as expected, safely. I would like everything to end well in life, and the kids never get sick."

same person but newer marvel's 2-dimensional characterization where they're more like a cartoonish cap or winter soldier figure than actually steve & bucky the people, or the fanonization where one of them turns into some useless generic random person to project onto and the other is some generic actor sexyman figure <<<<<<<<<<<<< their peak and epitomized characterization: just a kid from Brooklyn who wanted to help people and a jocky athletic kid who had no reason to be nice to the outcast shrimp but still decided to protect this righteous kid before he gets himself hurt + them in wwii, steve letting himself get experimented on to finally become his own hero with a shield trying to save everyone with honor and buck being the guardian angel w/ a gun who knows that sometimes saving requires killing the bad guys/nazis + post-freeze after their side's gvmnts in the war cut deals with the nazis stucky tried to fight, and the bad guys get reign to experiment with more supersoldiers and turn bucky, the most heroic man steve knew, into his own assassin, showing the costs of signing up with the shady military program to become a hero + them breaking out of the government's control and going on the run and steve realizing that if he wants to do the right thing then he's gonna have to start taking a page out of bucky's book and drop his shield to get his hands dirty and fight for what he believes in no matter how big the people saying no are
i think a big factor that plays into why steve and buckys characters have sort of become flattened out over time is that they’ve had so many different writers/directors across the mcu 😭 like, while i don’t like james gunn, i think it’s easy to objectively appreciate how cohesive the guardians trilogy is for all of the characters. they stay true to themselves and their stories, which is something not many characters in the mcu have been able to hold onto— and even then, during the avengers movies there are certain moments where the guardians characters feel OOC as well. that’s one of my least favorite parts about the mcu tbh. there’s a lack of consistency in the characters that comes from so much switching up going on behind the scenes— just look at tws steve compared to aou steve. there’s a stark difference despite those movies taking place so close in the timeline because they went from the russos to joss whedon. i think that was also an issue on tfatws because they switched writers practically every episode if i’m not mistaken. the characterization is all over the place because you have different people writing/directing for practically every other project. it’s hard to pin down a version of the character you like because as soon as you start appreciating the work that went into it, someone else is stepping behind the wheel and undoing all the development that the previous project laid out 😭.

MCU Rewatch - Captain America: The First Avenger
After kind of a tough week, I was surprised to find myself genuinely excited for Captain America.
I mentioned it before, but Chris Evans wasn’t who I envisioned being Captain America. I don’t know who exactly would’ve been better (maybe Afleck?), but I just couldn’t see the strong-jawed helmet-wearing hero in Evans’ face.
Well, I was wrong.
Just like the character played by academy award-winning actor Tommy Lee Jones was shown that brawn isn’t the only thing that matters, I’ve come around to Evans as he grew splendidly into this role. In fact, I actually really like Captain America now, and watching The First Avenger again, I can’t really see why I ever had such a problem with it.
I will allow one caveat to that statement: there’s nothing very special about the plot. But who cares? Plot, shmlot! Any plot can be a good movie; a great one, even! Not that I’ve been great about this so far anyway, but I’m going to ignore the plot for the most part here.
Now, let me tell you about what the kids did cook up for this one: vibes. Do you love WWII movies? Have you already seen them all? (No, you really haven’t…) Are you desperate for some new WWII content, but also don’t want WWIII? Perfect!
Captain America is like the movie version of a remix. It’s got all of the best elements of a classic WWII movie, but then riffs off of these to do cool shit like have a guy turn some nazis to powder and having Captain’s BFF fight a mech suit dude.
Then you have other cool things like Steve and Bucky showing physical affection (hugging, pats, etc.)
a woman being charge
and a diverse group of support soldiers.
It’s like a WWII movie, but with just enough tweaking to make it more modern without losing the charm that only the triumph over Nazis can achieve.
There were also odd references to other movies throughout, which were ultimately funny easter eggs. Like when Tommy Lee Jones’ character is trying to catch a plane and pushes the big red button.
Other than the modern riff on WWII movies, Captain America doesn’t have much else that makes it stand out. Don’t get me wrong; it has great visuals, awesome weaponry, cool fight scenes, and a villain death scene worth revisiting, but overall it’s fairly predictable. However, here are some more caveats: the villain death and of course the post-arctic crash scene.
So Captain America lost this fight, right? He certainly didn’t defeat Red Skull and it’s debatable whether he could have. I think if movies weren’t skewed to let the hero win all the time, Captain would not have been able to defeat Red Skull, even without the tesseract. But, put all this aside because this scene is way more horrifying now that we know what the hell is happening. Because Red Skull isn’t just dying.
His soul is being ripped from his body to be transported across space into eternal servitude to the soul stone.
And the scene is SO SLOW. Omg, we’re watching this guy get eviscerated by a magic space rock, but what we think we’re seeing is just some guy get turned into light by a glowy cube.
But that’s what Captain America is; turning the awfulness of war into cool visual effects! Like the guy on the plane who just turns into red powder when he slips off.
Just kidding, that wasn’t powder — it was CG! (or something, idk; don’t fact check me, please)
And then there’s the end scene. This is my favorite part of the movie, and one of my favorite Marvel moments overall.
I love that the baseball game gives it away. I really, truly love that the illusion is instantly broken and the fact that it’s broken by a background accessory, not even by anything especially well hidden or a person mis-speaking; just something absolutely mundane. Steve Rogers isn't some Sherlock-style sleuth, he's just a lucky kid from Brooklyn who went to a baseball game one day in the 40's.
And Captain America is ready; he hits the ground running, literally. Then Nick Fury shows up and somehow the camera manages to sink Steve so deep into Times Square, despite the fact that he’s completely surrounded by half a dozen black SUVs, which almost certainly were drawing more attention than anything the camera is focused on. What the camera is focused on is what Steve is focused on. And what a fucking good boy too; he sees he’s in NYC and that’s enough to calm him down…phew, America. He takes everything so well once he gets a good look around!
I think this scene says more about Captain America than any other scene. Anyone could become a super soldier good guy; hell, Bucky does it for a second and then Sam Wilson does too. In this final scene, we see just how resilient Steve really is. He’s being told that everyone he knows is old or dead, he has nothing, he’s in the future, and they need him because shit is about to go down, and he just…goes with it?
He obviously seems a little flustered, but overall he’s super calm and we all know he goes on to stay positive, focus on the fact that he’s in the future (which is always cool [do not chime in, 40K]), and continue to prioritize protecting people!
Up next, finally, is the first avengers movie!! I fucking love crossovers, so this is going to be fucking awesome. I can’t wait!!

While surfing through Deviantart, I found a Voice Actor Meme Template which was created by AleximusPrime.
I know, I know that this meme may seem a little bit childish and immature, but I thought this template would be a fun little experiment for me to try with my OC’s and what I feel they should sound like. I have always had a fascination for the voices of animated characters, as well as voice actors in general and I decided I had to give this a shot.
As you can see, I only used pictures of fictional characters, I only included the actors’ names without their photographs, because I believe that using real people’s photographs without their permission would be kind of creepy. As mentioned in the template, the actors I chose are not the actors that I want my characters to be voiced by, I selected the characters they played who I felt my characters would sound like.
Well, here we go.
Russell's voice comparison for the longest time was Ryan Akagi from Infinity Train. I felt his pitch of voice was not too high, and not too deep. I never pictured Russell having a timid, high-pitched voice. Russell can be timid at times, but when the time calls for it he takes action. But over time, I began to feel that this wasn't a good choice, after many months of thinking I was at my wit's end. That was until I saw the trailer for Another Eden: The Cat Beyond Time and Space, Complex Dream which featured characters from one of my favorite games as a kid, Chrono Cross. I happened to hear the voice of Serge, the main character of that game speak for the first time, and upon hearing Serge's voice, I believe I found Russell's voice once and for all. It just really clicked. A couple of things I would probably change with the voice is that Russell would sound more serious and he would speak with a Saskatchewan Accent as he was raised in the capital of Regina.
I had to do a little bit of searching for Ash's voice. My first choice was Hunter from Owl House or Vanitas from the English Dub of Vanitas No Carte, both voiced by Zeno Robinson. However, over time I began to believe that these were not good choices for Ash and I began to look toward other characters. I recently re-watched the first Aladdin movie on Disney+ and upon hearing Aladdin's voice, I did select him for the Ash's voice comparison but over time I realized it just did not match. Ash has a dynamic sounding voice, something which Ryan Akagi from Infinity Train, the original vocal comparison for Russell was. So I decided to switch Ryan as from Russell's voice comparison to Ash's voice comparison and this time it seemed right.
Zia's voice was pretty easy as well. Nubia Gross from The Proud Family original series was an absolute yes. I definitely picture Zia sounding like a kinder, more supportive version of Nubia. I know the character and voice actress are American, but I believe this voice comparison was perfect for Zia. One thing though, she would need to speak with a Nova Scotian Accent as Zia was born and raised in Halifax and had moved to Regina in her last year of high school.
Derrick's voice was also pretty easy, I definitely chose Toma Kamijou from the English Dub of A Certain Magical Index at first. In the English Dub, Toma just has a very "big-brotherly" tone of voice which I totally hear Derrick speaking with. But then I decided to trade that for Best Jeanist from My Hero Acadamia's English Dub, also voiced by Micah Solusod. In addition, Derrick was born and raised in Hawaii, and the actor who voiced Toma in the English Dub, Micah Solusod is from Hawaii as well. Best choice.
For the longest time, I assigned Louis from the English Dub of Beastars as the vocal comparison of Chatan, because at first I pictured Chatan being strict and no nonsense, but this eventually changed, he started to become much more lighthearted and I figured that Louis' voice would no longer be a good match for him. So I switched it for Natsusa Yuzuki from the English Dub of Number24 who was voiced by Griffin Puatu who also voiced Louis from Beastars, but in the end it just didn't match him. I then transitioned his voice from Natsusa to Ganke Lee in Marvel's Spider Man who was also voiced by Griffin Puatu, but it just didn't seem quite right either. This was around the time when I decided that Hunter's voice wouldn't be a good fit for Ash, so I decided to see if Hunter or Vanitas's voice would fit, it was close but no cigar. I looked into other roles Zeno Robinson played and when I heard Hawks (AKA Keigo Takami) in My Hero Academia, I settled for this voice for Chatan. Which is absolutely shocking because I don’t care that much for My Hero Academia. But over time, I began to think that this voice wasn't a good fit after all, so I decided to find a new one. I watched a movie recently called "Trolls World Tour" and I heard the voice of Branch, and I thought perhaps this voice would work for Chatan once and for all.
Another voice to choose which was a journey was Vai's. I was battling for a long time whether or not I should choose a soft or deep voice for them. I assigned Ryonousuke Akutagawa from the English Dub of Bungou Stray Dogs which for a long time sounded perfect, but my vision for Vai changed and Akutagawa's voice, I felt, would have made Vai sound like a Californian skater dude. So that was off the table. Rewatching Steven Universe, I heard Emerald from the episode, Lars of the Stars and settled on that. But Vai would need to sound a bit more pretentious, whiny, their pitch would need to be slightly higher, and they would have to speak with an accent that sounds like the Upper Class British English accent.
Miri's voice was pretty easy, she's supposed to have a high pitched, almost annoying kind of voice, Disgust from Inside Out was the perfect choice. Miri would have to sound a bit more cheerful and then at times a bit more spoiled and commanding given the fact she’s a know-it-all spoiled brat and a queen bee.
I knew that Jheron had to have a deep voice but I couldn't decide which character should voice him. At first I chose Gundham Tanaka from the English Dub of the Danganronpa 2 Video Game, but it just didn't seem right to me. Then I went with Bayek from Assassin's Creed Origins but it made him seem far too serious. I was at my wit's end. If there was one person I wanted to voice Jheron, it would've been Markiplier. There is just something about his voice I just felt was a good match for Jheron, his voice was deep, but not too deep. But, I couldn't find any characters voiced by Markiplier and I was almost compelled to give up. But luckily, I found that Markiplier played a version of himself in the 2015 video game, PewDiePie: The Legend of Bro-Fist and I shouted for joy, because technically this was an animated character that I could feature on this meme. One thing I would change is that Jheron would speak with an accent similar to the Rhode Island English Accent as he was raised in Akrya.
Suri's voice was pretty easy, I was attracted to the androgynous/boyish sounding voice of the voice actress Kimlinh Tran, and I figured a vocal pitch like that would be perfect for Suri and I decided to look for characters voiced by Tran, but it was difficult. Tran voiced Mikasa Ackerman in the English Dub of Attack On Titan, but she sounded too serious for Suri. Eventually I came across Nadia Fortune from the video game Skullgirls: Second Encore and that was a definite match for Suri. Suri also speaks with an accent similar to the Singaporean English Accent as she was raised in Prathe.
Another character which was easy to pick a voice for was Haerile, The Beast from Beauty and The Beast was it. Haerile is a very no-nonsense, easily agitated person just like the Beast. Haerile speaks with an accent similar to German as he was raised in the Jithran Senate.
Tai's voice went on a little bit of a journey, at first I chose the good version of Spinel's voice from Steven Universe, but over time I came to realize it wasn't a good match, then I transitioned it to DeeDee from Dexter's Lab, but her voice sounded too deep. After weeks of searching, I finally settled with Charmy the Bee from the English Dub of Sonic Heroes, one of my favorite games as a child. The spunky voice that Emily Corkery gave him with the perfect pitch for Tai, my little rambunctious monkey girl.
Rahkar's first voice was actually Patrick from SpongeBob but I decided that wouldn't be a good choice because I felt it would make him seem dimwitted and childish. I had a hard time looking for other voices. I am a big fan of Game Grumps and I came to realize that Arin Hanson's voice would be perfect for Rahkar. I knew Arin was a voice actor and I began looking for characters he voiced, Gateaux from Mighty Magiswords was the first choice but his voice was much deeper and he didn't say much and I wanted to find a character that spoke as much with Arin's natural voice as possible. It was difficult, but I settled on Krakov, who only appeared in one episode of Mighty Magiswords; The Cave of Gelatinous Doom! I felt this character spoke with as much of Arin's natural voice as possible.
Qishya's voice was a little bit difficult, at the start of my journey, I assigned Tiana from the Princess and the Frog as the voice comparison with Qishya, but her voice sounded too deep. Then I switched it for Ashley Williams from the Mass Effect series. That didn’t work either. Eventually I came across the character, Leah, from the 2001 movie, Osmosis Jones, who was voiced by singer Brandy Norwood. She has been the only animated character to be voiced by Brandy, but there was just something about the airy, sultry tone in Leah's voice that just fit with Qishya.
My first choice for Lellain was Cuphead from the Cuphead show, but I came to the realization that this voice was much too masculine and comedic sounding for Lellain. I also didn't think it would be appropriate to assign this character as the voice comparison for Lellain. I thought that this character voice would make Lellain seem...like a slapstick character. Lellain is a jokester, but he isn't like Cuphead at all, there are times he can be serious. Playing the game, Marvel's Spiderman, I assigned Miles Morales, voiced by Nadji Jeter, temporarily as the voice comparison for Lellain. After searching and searching I finally decided to assign Max Mittelman's portrayal of Ryuji Sakamoto from Persona 5 as Lellain's voice. Lellain however does speak with an accent similar the Hiberno-English (Irish English) Accent because he was raised in the Golar Sodality.
Kasai was pretty difficult. The most difficult of all my OC's to find a voice for. I combed through many actors and characters but none of them quite fit, until I heard the Netflix Dub of Neon Genesis Evangelion and I heard Shinji Ikari's voice. Though that voice seemed a bit too timid and high-pitched for Kasai, something clicked and I just had to look-up the actor, Casey Mongillo and what other characters they voiced, hoping I could find a possible voice comparison for my green child. I looked through other characters they voiced without much success until I came across Emporio Alnino from the English Dub of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventures and it I thought it was the perfect match for a while. But over time I began to realize that this voice would be too high-pitched for Kasai. I wanted to find a nonbinary actor to voice Kasai, unfortunately none of them had the vocal tone I would imagine Kasai to have. Greg Cipes' portrayal of Beast Boy from Young Justice was one of my first choices, and I decided to reassign this voice to Kasai.
I originally chose Bismuth from Steven Universe as the voice comparison for Itzapa, but Bismuth sounded very jovial and laid-back, something which Itzapa is not. So, I needed to find another character for her voice comparison, and I needed to find a character with a voice that wasn't too deep. It took a while, but then I came across a Canadian cartoon called Shadow Raiders, which I vaguely remembered as a kid. When I heard the voice of the character, Jade, voiced by Enuka Okuma, I decided this would be Itzapa's voice comparison. Jade is a tough woman ready for battle, just like Itzapa. I do picture the voice being a little bit deeper.
So this is what my OC’s voices would sound like. If you have any better ideas for the OC’s voices, please feel free to leave them in the comments below. And I just want to make this clear, I only selected the characters these actors/actresses voiced that I felt closely matched my OC’s not the actual actor/actress themselves.

(Loml)
✧───── ・ 。゚★: *. ☽.* :★. ─────✧
You stood backstage in front of a mirror, looking at your appearance and making sure there were no wrinkles on the dress you wore. Your hairstylist was behind you, fluffing your hair and managing the stray baby hairs on your head. You were currently at NBC Studios in New York City, about to do an interview with the infamous, Jimmy Fallon. Tingles buzzed through your skin as you heard the cheers and music from the stage. Jimmy’s voice can be heard faintly backstage, only adding to your growing excitement.
The sound of heels clicking approached you, it took less than a second for you to feel the warm presence of Florence behind you. The both of you were starring in the upcoming Black Widow movie alongside Scarlett Johansson; after months of working together and spending days hanging out, you and Florence had become very close friends. She was, without a doubt, your favorite person in the world. Since the moment you met her, she had always been the most sweetest and caring person you’ve ever met—and you were proud to say you had her in your corner.
You met Flo’s eyes in the mirror and bright smiles were instantly on your faces. Turning around, you open your arms wide, and wrap them around her. Bear hugs were a must in your friendship with Flo, you both just loved receiving hugs from each other.
“Ahhh! I told you that dress would be perfect for tonight, you look stunning!” She squealed, tightening her arms around you. A day before Jimmy Fallon, you and Flo had been at your place with your stylist, picking out which dress you should wear for the interview. The dress was casual, but the color was so ever vibrant that it made the dress pop.
You pulled out the hug and looked at what she was wearing. Her gorgeous blonde hair was curled into loose locks and her dress was just as vibrant as yours. The pink of her dress and the orange (yellowish?) of yours complimented each other. Which coincidentally enough, was a parallel of your lovely friendship with Florence.
“Me? Flo, you look gorgeous! I’m so obsessed with this look!” You help her twirl, hyping her up as she showed off her outfit. After sneaking in a little mirror selfie and posting it onto Instagram, the two of you were given a five minute warning from one of the crew members. You and Flo were moved to stand behind the curtain, waiting for your cues to walk onto the stage.
While the two of you were getting mic’d up, Florence leaned closer to you.
“Can I be completely honest with you?” She mumbled, her stare remaining on the curtain before her. Your brow raises in curiosity as your head slightly turns to look at her.
“Of course, hun. What’s up?” You ask, your attention on her. She sighs and leans even closer so only you can hear her.
“I feel like I’m about to shit my pants.” She admits, swallowing nervously. Your mouth gapes, “Did you have iced coffee too?”
Flo’s face scrunches up in confusion, “N-no! That was me telling you I was nervous! Did you have iced coffee?” She fully turns to look at you and judging by the look of guilt plastered across your face, you did in fact have iced coffee.
“Maybe?” You answer, though it came out more like a question. Florence rolls her eyes at you.
“(Y/n), how many times do you have to be reminded that you’re lactose intolerant?” She scolded you.
You scoff, holding a hand up at her, “Trust me, I’m reminded every time I sit on a toilet.” You shake your head, trying to refocus the conversation.
“This isn’t about my poor digestive system—why are you nervous?”
She sighs, “I don’t know why I’m so nervous, I’m used to doing interviews and stuff. But I haven’t been on Jimmy Fallon, and there’s an audience out there and I don’t want to mess up or accidentally spoil the movie.”
You place a reassuring hand on her shoulder, “You may be British, but you’re not Tom Holland. You won’t spoil anything.” You start. She quickly shoots you a look that screams, “you’re not helping”. You make a gesture physically telling her that you’re getting to the point.
“You’re going to be fine! I mean you did Jimmy Kimmel right? This shouldn’t be that different, it’s the same thing—just different studios, in different states, and different Jimmy’s.” You point out. She nods along as you continue, “Plus, I’m gonna be up there with you. You won’t be alone.”
With the help of your reassurance and witty little comments, Florence felt her anxiousness simmer down. They weren’t completely gone but the fact that you were gonna be up there together made her relax more. Being part of Marvel had its pros and cons. Sure, the movies are spectacular and the actors are outstanding. Though when it comes to doing promo for said movies, it can be quite stressful. It’s a known fact that Marvel and it’s executives can be quite strict when it comes to interviews with anyone involved in the making of their films—their strictness made sense, although for first time MCU members, it took some getting used to.
Florence smiles at you, “Thank you.”
You playfully nudge her shoulder with yours, “Don’t worry about it.” You say with a kind smile.
The wholesome moment was interrupted by one of the stagehands telling you and Florence that the two of you were on in 15 seconds.
“Our guests tonight are making their big MCU debut in the new Black Widow film, please welcome (Y/n) (L/n) and Florence Pugh!”
⚘
“So in the movie, there’s three of you guys—where’s the other one?” Jimmy asked, motioning his hand to the small space between you and Flo.
“She’s at home I believe.” Florence answered, glancing at you. “She’s busy doing stuff, you know—adult things.” She added.
You took the opportunity to make a joke and said, “Yet here we are promoting her movie.” You roll your eyes playfully. The crowd bursts out laughing, along with Jimmy, who smacked his desk.
“You know, we deserve a raise for this.” Flo considers, going along with your joke. She slightly snorts and nudges your arm with her elbow. “We could take Scarlett’s check and just split it in half for ourselves.”
“Problem solved.” You shrugged, high fiving her.
Another round of laughs fill the room as Jimmy says, “So you’re both taking Scarlett’s money?”
Jokingly, you nod in approval, “By the end of this interview? Definitely.”
Dropping the bit, you shake your head with a grin on your face. “I’m kidding! I’m only joking, I wouldn’t do that to her, even if I were forced to.”
Jimmy moves on as a picture of you, Florence, and Scarlett pops up on the screen. The picture had been posted on your Instagram and was taken while the three of you were filming in between takes. You were taking the selfie while Scarlett and Florence were poking their heads out from behind you making funny faces.
“I can’t imagine how exciting it is to be on a Marvel set, and to even work with one of the first ever heroes in the MCU—that must be insane!” Jimmy exclaims, motioning to another picture of the three of you.
“It’s unbelievable. To work alongside Scarlett and to follow this kind of path that she’s paved in the MCU is an honor. She really was like our older sister behind the scenes, because she was always guiding us and taking care of everyone. She’s the best.” Florence responded while you nodded in agreement.
“I watched the movie last night and one of the things I enjoyed the most was the dynamic the three of you had. You guys were like actual siblings.” Jimmy mentioned, motioning between you and Flo.
Florence giggled before squeezing you into a tight hug, “Yeah, she’s my big sister.” You smiled beamingly, patting her cheek before she let go.
“No, really! She’s like my actual younger sister.” You tell the audience, who “awed” at the hug you both shared. “We spent months on this movie and we spent every single day with each other. By the middle of production, we were basically roommates.”
“Roommates?” Jimmy questioned, leaning his elbows on his desk.
“Because I was always at her house.” Florence answered in a ‘duh’ tone. “I’ve actually grown an attachment to (Y/n), she’s like my comfort blanket. So I need to have her with me at all times. If she’s not with me, I just won’t leave the house.”
“Speaking of your attachment to (Y/n), there’s this video of you that you apparently sent her?” Jimmy gestured at you, “And you posted it on your Instagram and now the whole internet is obsessed with it.”
“Yup, that’s the one.” You confirmed.
“I know there’s probably some people who haven’t seen it, so here’s the video.” The video of Florence popped up on the screen and began to play.
(This fic was based on this TikTok😭)
Jimmy looked at you and Florence in amusement, “Can we get some context?”
Florence waved her hand at the screen and said, “As you can all see, I’m very persistent.”
“This wasn’t your first time sending her these kinds of videos?” Jimmy asked. You shook your head, a feign look of annoyance on your face.
“No, she does this all the time.”
“In my defense, I was unexpectedly flying out to New York for a project. I knew I was gonna be in the city for a few days, so I decided to call (Y/n) and make the most of my trip.” Flo defended herself, slightly pouting.
You leaned your head on her shoulder, “To be fair, it was also our first time seeing each other since we wrapped Black Widow, and we really missed each other.”
“(Y/n), did you have to move any plans?” Jimmy turns to you. Florence does the same.
“You know what, you never told me if you had plans or not.” She squints her eyes at you. Your arms crossed while your body slowly sunk into the couch.
You pretend to fix your lipstick, quickly muttering, “I might’ve moved some plans around.”
Florence’s mouth gapes in shock, her entire body freezing. She grips onto your shoulder, “Wait, you actually moved plans for me?”
“I might’ve rescheduled a lunch with someone, but that doesn’t really matter.” You replied, trying to move on from the topic. Jimmy pointed at you, a giant grin on his face, “You actually moved plans for Florence!”
Florence’s mouth was still wide in shock, “I can’t believe you actually moved plans for me—(Y/n)!” She whined.
“I missed seeing you, so of course I had to move them.” You bashfully explained, the corners of your lips turning upwards. Florence pulled you into a hug.
“Gosh, you really do love me!” She exclaimed.
“I really do!” You said, your arms wrapping around her as well.

World Heroes Mission Thoughts!
(Hey, spoilers ahead)
Also, my theater gave out the little booklets, and they’re adorable!!
Okay, first of all, this is a Rody Stan account. This BOY, y’all. New son.
Jokes aside, his arc was handled really well and I loved his “fake betrayal” at the end. He’s such a sweet character, and I’m a sucker for the “criminal” characters who actually have a heart of gold, so.
PINO. That is all.
I was sad they didn’t stay in their stealth suits hardly at all, but that’s really the only thing I was super disappointed about.
Deku in overalls!!!! :D
The road trip was so cute,,,,,,
Bakugo “DOnT TeLl mE WHaT tO Do!!!!” Katsuki
Seriously, you could play a drinking game where you just take a shot every time bakugo whines, you’d get hammered.
Todoroki’s one liner about Midoriya being awful at codes PLEASE-
Alright unpopular option probably but the villain of this movie, Flect or whatever his name was? WAY scarier than Shigaraki. Spooukiky dude, honestly.
Okay, I know the archer girl is a villain but could she marry me PLEASE
So I know BNHA has really good symbolism and foreshadowing and all that good stuff. But did they REALLY have to foreshadow Bakugo getting stabbed like that??? Literally it was in the EXACT two places that he gets hit by Shigaraki in the war arc. (Jk of course, the foreshadowing is wonderful)
Along those same lines, was it really necessary to show both Bakugo and Deku getting the absolute shit stabbed out of BOTH OF THEM!? I love the angst but WOW
Deku really was put through the ringer, jeez. The part where he was thinking of all of his friends, and in between, he was getting stabbed repeatedly and screaming?!? LEAVE THIS BOY ALONE….
Bakugos fight was BRUTAL lol
Todoroki’s voice actor went SO HARD in his fight. It was absolutely incredible.
Forget Tododeku, Bakudekbu, IzuOccha, I care about no other ship than Rody/Deku now. Rodeku? Dedy? Roku??????
Deku took an arrow for Rody 🥺🥺🥺
DEKU REALLY RIPPED THAT ARROW RIGHT OUT OF HIS BODY SOMEONE TELL THIS BOY HES NOT SUPPOSED TkO DO THAT
Rody helped patch him up in the most gay way possible please
You can see the parts where Rody slowly gets a crush on Deku,,,,
The part where they were holding each other and bleeding out and they started laughing/crying TORE MY HEART UP
This movie was SO much darker than the other ones. An entire city got murdered in the first two minutes, and there was a ton of blood. Maybe supervise your kids if they watch this one, folks.
Endeavor getting roasted by Bakugo and Todoroki, we love to see it
Hey, don’t think I didn’t notice Kirishima’s little nod to Bakugo, very cute!!
The amount of times I did the little gay hand to my sibling during the movie was astronomical ,
THE HUG AT THE END 🥺🥺🥺
In conclusion, the movie was phenomenal. Might be my new favorite!
F IN CHAT FOR MY HEART BOYS

look, do not take this personally but i hope that you are aware that the new captain america movie is going towards an antisemitic and zionist path.
because, first of all, the title is insane. "new world order" really? you search up that title and the first thing that shows up is that weird, disgusting antisemitic conspiracy theory. and to make it even worse, the actor that plays the villain is jewish (which, fine, was casted years and years ago) and then, to make it even so much fucking worse, they cast a zionist actress to play an israeli hero who is known for, well, being a zionist and antisemitic — and she did things like, y'know, murdering arab and palestinian children, etcetera. which brings the question: what do they want to do with this movie? win a bingo for disrespecting all minorities?
ah, by the way, the zionist character's name is sabra, and no, not the company: the massacre.
so that is what i don't get here, you guys are what, pointing fingers at each other because there is 'drama' in the sambucky community? i mean, people are joking, the divorce talk is a joke, and their anger and disappointment is valid as fuck. i promise you, whoever came up with the mcu thunderbolts has never touched a comic in their lives. they have what, five supersoldiers in a team of seven? shut up. and bucky teaming up with walker? after walker killed a kid with captain america's shield? after walker tried to kill sam in the same way right after? what the hell. and now, people are going to ship bucky and yelena because they have no ability to make a single critical opinion and we will all have to watch the unfortunate future of the mcu building a nonsense relationship, like bruce and natasha's, because why the fuck not right? not to mention how people are going to start shipping bucky and walker, because well, white men together bantering (because that's what marvel will probably do, as already shown in episode 6 of tfatws) is one of the greatest internet's fuel to make up one of the most bizarre pairs known to mankind.
however, this isn't about shipping, or who shines and who doesn't. marvel's cinematic universe is awful, they can't get a single thing right, they want money and when people ignore all of this, they will get exactly what they want. people are now trying to overlook zionism and antisemitism just because it's sam's movie, because it is a marvel movie.
if all of that didn't already make the point clear, there is also the 'favorite character finally being the protagonist so i want to support them, even if the movie is *insert multiple social crimes here*' issue, so i'll say this: sam wilson does not deserve this fucking movie, he does not deserve the character assassination that he is already going through like all of the other characters who were put on the mcu, or any of this other shit pilled up on his back. it's a set up. and if they don't acknowledge or fix this (they won't), cap4 will be another north american military propaganda movie with antisemitism and zionism as a "bonus". they should just name the movie captain apartheid already, because that is not captain america. sam shouldn't be the face to carry this disgusting project forward like it will not feed zionists exactly what they want.
this is vile.
Hi Anon!!!
First of all, I can't take it personally, this isn't my movie or my project, so no worries.
There's a lot to unpack here so I'll start with the most important.
It's not my place to make any comments because I don't know enough about the history or the context movie title, but I am willing to listen.
And one thing I want to say is that the movie is still almost 2 years away and the filming hasn't even started yet. There's still time to change the title, the character names or change characters altogether. It would take time but it can be done and it would raise awareness because most probably most people aren't aware of this. I know I wasn't.
What I don't understand is that there was a post going around explaining why the new title was problematic that got thousands of notes. But then there was another post with a petition asking for the title to be changed and it barely got a hundred notes. And I think that if there is stuff that is problematic about the movie this would be the perfect time to try and have it changed since nothing is set in stone yet.
I feel like at this stage, that's what can be done.
I'm not trying to overlook anything but this is how I see things. If there are actions to be taken, let's take them, twitter campaigns, petition, there are a lot of place to start. As I said it's not my place to start anything or talk about any of this but I'll share what needs to be shared. And you're right, the MCU won't make any changes, unless the audience asks for it.
But you can't really say that the fandom is trying to overlook things because Sam is the main protagonist when we don't even know what are the other options.
And this isn't rhetorical question, but a sincere one. What can I do Anon? What's the action plan? I won't force anyone to watch the movie but in my opinion there's still time for them to change stuff if there's enough pushback from our side. If enough people are involved.
About the Sambucky part, I feel we're mixing different things.
The anger/disappointement with Bucky being part of the Thunderbolts, is valid.
But people being upset about the Sambucky ship when we have no information about it expect that both characters will be in separate movies is hard to understand for me.
And the shipping part, there's nothing we can do about it unfortunately, since people are already shipping Bucky with Zemo a guy who tortures him...I wouldn't be surprised by a Walker ship.
#a kid#sam wilson#captain america#bucky barnes#anon asks#*Just a remark from my side#I'm not a fan of Walker but he didn't kill that man was an adult and was there to kill Walker because h#because he's a symbol

Watching the Rise of the Titans movie and I'll be documenting all of my thoughts/reactions here. [Spoiler Warning]
So instead of reblogging every new update, I'm just going to have this post up on my phone as I watch and type my reactions in a bullet list format.
Nari's human disguise is so cute. As someone who does have a cottagecore aesthetic, I want to cosplay her so bad
Are Skrael and/or Belroc non-binary coded? Regardless, I'm also obsessed and I want to fuck Skrael and be Belroc.
STEVE CARING ABOUT JIM BEING HURT YESSSS!!! My god his redemption has probably been one of the greatest there is because he doesn't just suddenly go from being a bully to a completely good person. You can see the gradual shift in learning better throughout the shows which is awesome.
IN NEW YOOOOOOORRRRRRRK!!!!!! CONCRETE JUNGLE WHERE DREAMS ARE MADE OFFFFFFFFFFFFF!!!!!
The mugshot montage reminded me of season 1 of trollhunters when toby and Jim were arrested at the museum.
STRICKLER PUT A RING ON IT??? HE'S THE ONLY DILF IVE EVER ACTUALLY AGREED WAS HOT WYM I CAN'T HAVE HIM??? well I'm still really happy about his arc over the series probably one of my favorite character growths.
Eli my guy got his growth spurt!!! As an 18 year old who is still 5'0", I'm happy but envious for him
So I went into this movie without watching any trailers or promo, but I doubt anything could have prepared me for the existence of mpreg. In fact, I wasn't going to document my reactions until I saw that.
NAMURA!!!!!!!!! MY BELOVED!!!!!! I CAN STILL THIRST FOR YOU WITHOUT GUILT
The coach teacher just called the kids zoomers so I have to dock one point from my final rating just because of that. Unforgivable
Those husky animation models suck lmao
Oh fuck the titans got power ranger zords!!
God why did they include the mpreg??? This movie would have been perfect without it.... After that plot point being revisited only one time I'm already beyond done with it
Like it's bringing me back to the v*ltron days where they're was a suspiciously high amount of klance omegaverse and mpreg fics and art created and it physically hurts because Steve and Keith's voice actor is the same person meaning this is especially cursed to me since I was unfortunately in the v*ltron fandom and remember all of that
But like on another note, how old are these characters again??? I haven't checked any wikis because of spoilers but is Steve an adult??? I know aja might be technically a lot older than 18 because alien but is whatever age she is equivalent to an adult as far as emotionally and physically in Akaridion development??? IS THIS A TEEN (M)PREGNANCY IN A KIDS SHOW????
Like bruh I saw a singular post on here before going into the movie that was like "rott spoilers without context" and there was a pregnant belly but I was absolutely not expecting the actual context of it. I'll find the post after I finish and edit this post to tag the creator right here: @makoden
This entire post is just gonna be me ranting about mpreg huh
Anyway I love the whole roundtable allusion to the legends of king arthur (not the toa version but the one he's based off)
THERE'S 3 TO 5 BABIES????? I need to take a break bruh this is just too much
Alright I've taken a 30 minute break got some food and did some things i love (decompressed by tactile stimming with some owl plushies and watched some videos on my favorite owl, Garu. He lives in Japan with his owner and is a domesticated eagle owl who basically just acts like a sky cat. If anyone else needs some eye bleach, here is their YouTube channel)
Blinky and ARRRGHHH!!! saying their "if one of us doesn't make it" talk my god one of them is going to die I can see it and I will be utterly crushed. Jim can't lose another father figure and Toby can't lose his wingman again I will riot if this happens
On a similar but unrelated to the movie note, can we just talk about how toa started with Jim having 0 dads and (if strickler and blinky live to the end) will end with 2 dads? Like I just really feel happy for him that he has two dads who actually figured out how to put the past behind them to not have any infighting between them so that both of them are healthy father figures. Jim has already been through literal hell and back losing his actual humanity in the process so if he loses one of them, I'm going to be really pissed because at this point, this is just Jim torture porn. Y'all know how as SpongeBob SquarePants went on, the show just became Squidward torture porn? It's starting to feel that way for toa and I really hope they cut the shit by the ending
Jlaire is such a good ship but like I feel like it's too perfect they never disagree with each other
YESSSSSSS Someone finally doesn't treat toby like a fat waste of space who messes stuff up!!! I think out of all the characters that would have been most deserving of a rewrite, it's Toby. Sometimes I just feel he's only comic relief and any heartfelt moments he's had in the series was also born of stupidity (ie his flour baby project being unharmed was seen by him as divine intervention from his parents but was actually just Eli and Steve behind the scenes).
Ohhhhh yesssssss Archie's father!!! I was hoping I'd see him again because we got so little of him last
Ooooooooooh Asian trollmarket!!!!!
Oh never mind slavery trollmarket
Bruh titanic camelot
I feel like we're not seeing enough of the villains because I completely forgot about the power ranger zord things
NAMORA NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MY LAST CRUSHHHH
STRICKLER NO NOT YOU TOO PLEASE
WHAT THE FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THE ONLY TWO CHARACTERS I SIMP FOR ON THIS SHOW DIED WITHIN FIVE MINUTES OF EACH OTHER
THAT WHOLE ASS RANT I WROTE IS COMING TRUE FUCK THIS MOVIE THIS SERIES IS JUST JIM TORTURE PORN
WAIT JIM'S SPERM DONOR INFO?
Oh thank God I don't want to know anything about that person
For the record, I call that man Jim's sperm donor because he has no business being called a father to him. All he did was donate some swimmers to the creation of him and give him abandonment issues
Oh another blind troll elder???? This fucker is just if vendel was a bad guy
Bruh I was grieving
PACIFIC RIM WITH GUN ROBOT VEX AND THE BELROCZORD? I've never seen that movie but I know the reference
Bruh Blinky doesn't read horoscopes? Does he realize conspiracy theories are just the manly version of horoscopes?
NO DON'T KILL VEX STOP KO-ING FOUND FAMILY MEMBERS
Oh thank God he's okay
NO NOT ARCHIE AND CHARLEMAGNE OH MY GOD
oh never mind they're just gonna coup de tat I believe in them :))
But I want to see him again
But I'm glad to see vex
Yay they're in arcadia!
But yeah I wondered why the trolls and Merlin didn't keep the whole "daylight doesn't hurt trolls" feature from the eternal night but now Guillermo del Toro I see you were playing the long con in that just to kill my girl Namora :(((
Oooooh I love the animation of the Narizord over Chihuahua!! It looks very good and realistic (if only they could have put some of that into those huskies from before smh)
Bruh the character designs of the arcane order are so good I want to be them
Nari making sure the Skraelzord doesn't crush the bus
DAMN DOUBLE HOMICIDE
Bruh I'm just glad we finally have an answer on why arcadia had everything going on as opposed to literally anywhere else!! I always found that as a weird coincidence for plot convince.
BRUH WERE BACK TO THE MPREG IM SO JEALOUS I FORGOT ABOUT THAT EVEN THOUGH IT WAS BECAUSE I WAS GRIEVING THE LOSS OF MY LOVELIES.
Oh that's real convenient that the ninth configuration meant all of them. Way to not decide which character gets more attention. Though it probably was a smart way to not have any infighting in the fandom between each character's stan group.
Bruh I just realized where is Barbera did they just ditch her on the Camelot ship???
And where are the other trolls that migrated at the end of trollhunters s3? They said something about new jersey but obviously Jim and the other main characters got on Camelot instead.... This feels like a plot hole
And we never learned the process of how changelings are made and bonded to humans and stuff. We just know it's super painful but I'm curious ffs!!!!
THE DONT THINK BECOME HERO SPEECH ALL SAID TOGETHER!!!
BRUH THEY REALLY HAD TO SHOW HIM GIVING BIRTH??????? WAS THAT AN ABSOLUTE MUST??????
Plus the main audience for this series is little children (the rating for the movie is literally TV-Y7) so even though my adult ass is not in the target audience, I STILL DONT UNDERSTAND WHY WOULD MPREG AND ANAL BIRTH WOULD BE AN IMPORTANT THING TO 7 YEAR OLDS???? THIS IS A LITERAL FETISH HIDDEN IN KIDS CONTENT ITS ELSAGATE ALL OVER AGAIN Y'ALL 😭😭😭😭😭
Though it's probably hypocritical of me to think fetishes don't belong in kids tv when I've openly admitted to thirsting for strickler and namora
HUZZAH
NEW AMULET WAZ GOOD????
STAB THAT BITCH JIM
WAIT NO I SAID STAB NOT GET STABBED
Alright good job just missed the directions at first but you fixed it
SEVEN KIDS?????????
T O B Y ????????????
W A I T NO
N O
IS HE ACTUALLY
OH MY GOD THERE'S HOPE
NO THERE ISN'T
F U C K THIS SHIT THEY REALLY JUST HAD HIM TO BE BULLIED THEN KILLED
Y'ALL IM ACTUALLY CRYING THIS NEVER HAPPENS
I NEVER ACTUALLY GET SO EMOTIONAL OVER MEDIA THAT I CRY IT ONLY HAPPENED ONCE AT THE END OF VOLTRON BUT AHHHHHHHH
W A I T
HE'S GONNA BE BROUGHT BACK?????
HOLD UP THEY'RE JUST GONNA BRING ALL THOSE DEAD PEOPLE BACK??????
WAIT IS HE
BLINKY CALLED HIM A SON
HOLD ON IS THIS GOING TO BE A CLIFFHANGER???????????
BRUH THEY REALLY JUST CAN'T END THE SERIES WITHOUT CLIFFHANGERS like there's always an open ending
TROLLHUNTER TOBY????? You know what forget the whole rants I had on how toby was written they just redeemed it all
And that's all! I'd rate it a 6.5/10 because it's definitely the weakest of all the sequels but still had amazing animation and some good plot points. It's just really hard to look over the bad stuff enough to rate it any higher.

I Have Some Feelings
To start let me just emphasize how much I love and adore this show and always will. This was my covid show. Both of my kids loved “Lucifer” and always said I should watch so at the start of covid I binged it and when I say binged, I mean all 4 seasons in a few days and have rewatched so many times I’ve lost count. I think it is timeless, engrossing, original and all around amazing. The writing and the cast were all excellent. The writing was smart and consistently strong and that is so rare. Funny, sad, poignant, it hit all the notes with very few plot holes or missteps. There is not one episode in the entire series that was not engaging. Even if I didn’t like an episode, it was still well done. What a rarity.
The cast is scary good. Completely underrated. Just all phenomenally talented. I don’t remember the last time a cast was this strong. From the core group to both reoccurring and guest stars, the cast was just fantastic.
Tom Ellis, no words. The man deserves to choose whatever he wants to do acting wise. He should have people breaking down his door. He can truly do it all and do it all well. He took a character that if portrayed by a lesser actor could have come off as a complete asshole and made him one of the most sympathetic and loveable characters in recent history. Ellis made a crime solving devil, a promiscuous man-child that occasionally breaks into song and the evidence room into a beloved character that has become an icon.
Lauren German, WOW. She is just so damn good. She can break your heart one second and have you laughing the next. She makes Chloe real, and people don’t realize how hard that is. Chloe is smart, kind, tough and gorgeous but she’s also an insecure dork. She’s us and German just brings it.
DB Woodside I’ve loved since “Buffy”. He is a phenomenal actor and who knew he could bring the laughs so well? His expressions were classic. Clueless angel indeed. Amenadiel could have been very one-dimensional but because of Woodside’s talent he became fully fleshed out and full bodied.
I have no doubt Lesley-Ann Brandt has a huge career in front of her. She took a character that very well could have been hated, a demon and made her into one of the most human characters on the show. Kudos to her for taking a tough role and making it her own.
Kevin Alejandro is another actor I’ve loved for a long time. He also took a character who if we’re going to be honest here did so many unlikeable things that he should have been truly despised but because of Kevin’s portrayal he was beloved. Great actor and a terrific director.
Rachael Harris IMO is the downlow MVP. She was literally the rock and again, with a lesser actress the role could have been a throwaway. The normal human, the sounding board but Harris imbued her with so much more. Her spit takes, sarcasm and her obvious compassion was what made Dr. Linda an unforgettable character. Once again just perfect casting.
Aimee Garcia was a great addition. She made Ella a fan fav and put so much heart, joy and sincerity into Ella never once did you doubt that she would prevail no matter what was thrown at her. Garcia was just fantastic, and I want her skin care regime.
Scarlett Estevez pulled off the one thing I thought almost impossible. She took the role of a young child and made it so I didn’t want to cringe. She portrayed Trixie so beautifully from day one that she was a true pleasure to watch. Even though Trixie was super precocious Estevez never made her obnoxious. I loved Trixie and I have never said that about any child character in an adult show. She was wonderful and has an amazing career in front of her.
That said, I’ve got some feelings now that I’ve seen the finale and have had some time to digest it all. I love that Chloe and Lucifer had eternity and I agree that they had to be separated for Chloe’s lifetime. Didn’t like it but it’s the logical path. She’s human, he’s not. The ageing thing alone necessitated them not being together long term on earth and that’s just to start the list. They had to had to be apart for the short term to get their eternity but the duality of Lucifer's ending and Amenadiel's didn't sit right. Amenadiel as God got to have it all. His calling, his family etc. while Lucifer had to give up everything. I also don’t buy the “If he came up from hell, he could never leave them again” defense. I call bullshit. Amenadiel managed, plus, missing out on the day to day is a huge sacrifice and by Lucifer missing out on the day-to-day Rory could still have had the hatred she needed to drive the story. Popping in for birthdays, graduations, weddings, etc., the big stuff does not a father make. Not being there for skinned knees, first heartbreaks, and all the little things a daughter needs her dad for can build up tons of resentment. Boom, absentee father, just like his dad was. That provides all the millennial angel angst you could ask for. I have a daughter; it doesn’t take much.
The Trixie issue was huge for me. Can Chloe see her in Heaven? Will she be able to travel to Heaven and visit Trixie, Penelope, Dan, her father? Chloe hesitated leaving Heaven in 5x16 because she couldn’t bear saying good-bye to her dad again. It seems as if Chloe sacrificed everything for Rory including Trixie. I want to preface this by saying. I liked Rory and loved the actress. I didn’t however like how it was as if she were their only child. When Lucifer spoke of family Trixie was not mentioned. Their family day, the same thing. She didn’t need to be there, I get that the explanation regarding Rory would have been way too much to get into but just a mention of her, how awesome it would have been to share this day with her would have worked. It seemed as if Lucifer went from, “I would do anything to protect that little Urchin” to “Trixie who”. Trixie was a character that we watched grow up and she meant something to us. I hate to say this, but the writers did Trixie and the viewers dirty in this regard.
This show was built around a few premises. Free will, honesty, redemption, sacrifice and family, both blood and made. The ending completely negated almost all of these. Chloe and their entire family were made into the one thing Lucifer abhorred the most which are liars. Their daughter was brought up surrounded by lies. What did they tell Trixie? The poor kid just lost her dad, and she was pissed at Lucifer when he went back to hell the first time. Did she grow up hating him because as far as she knew Lucifer left her mom again without saying good-bye and this time it was even worse because Chloe was pregnant. I get that the actress who plays Trixie had limited availability but seriously. A quick good-bye.
“Hey Urchin, you won’t understand why for a long time, but I have to leave. You know I never lie so I can’t explain why but know that I love you and your mom and one day I hope you can forgive me.”
A 30 second scene would have worked.
As all the characters learned throughout the series, omission of the truth is just a form of lying and there are always repercussions i.e., Chloe and Father Kinley, Dan shooting Lucifer, Maze finding out about Lilith and even Ella not being told. As far as free will, both Chloe and Lucifer had their free will taken from them in the end. By Rory forcing them to abide by her wishes, their free will was forfeited. It was a huge manipulation on Rory’s part and considering how much Lucifer hated manipulations it just didn’t sit right.
Parents making huge sacrifices I get. Chloe and Lucifer sacrificed everything for their child. Unfortunately for me this sacrifice, the way it was written seemed contrived to pull out maximum and IMO unjustified angst. I love angst. Hell, this is my favorite show. I thrive on the angst. But as I wrote earlier, all the anger, angst and hatred towards Lucifer could have been achieved without having Lucifer completely out of the picture. I have two kids and my husband, and I have made huge life altering sacrifices for them as many parents do but being there for the day-to-day little things was what made the difference in their lives and cemented the close relationships we have with them.
“Yeah, dad you were great. Showing up for the fun stuff, always swooping in for the big finish to play the hero then ditching us when things got tough. When Grandma was dying where were you? Nice that you showed up for the funeral but the six months leading up to it…we needed you and once again you weren’t there. When T got sick, when Jen broke my heart, blah, blah, blah…”
Even the whole Chloe dying scenario. They could have written it that rage Rory traveled minutes before Lucifer got there. Have him pop in right after Rory comes back. There were so many ways to achieve the end game they wanted other than the way they went. It seemed contrived and as if they took the easy way out to get where they needed to go. The Rory rage that was the catalyst for her traveling back in time and Lucifer finding his calling could still have been accomplished without the whole Lucifer disappearing storyline.
Now that I’ve finished my diatribe there’s a couple of additional things I would like to say. Lucifer is and always will be one of my favorite shows of all time. There are not enough words to describe the comfort and enjoyment this show has brought me. Thank you, thank you, thank you to the producers, cast and crew. You truly created something special.
To the fandom. Please do not let a polarizing conclusion rip apart the fandom. The only other fandom I was a part of tore itself apart so badly that the FBI got involved. Hence why I waited for 15 years to dip my toe in again. Everyone invested in this show has the right to their feelings. Debate is fine, baiting and bullying are not. The Lucifer fandom like the show is very special. Without the fandom we wouldn’t have gotten any conclusion so don’t let opposing viewpoints tarnish what has been a magical journey.

Random Miraculous Things I've been thinkin' 'bout.
==========
You all remember Lady Noir right? Chat Noir-ladybug during reflekdoll kwami swap episode? And you all know that Chat Noir could take off his tail belt but he can also move and somewhat control it? Well could Lady Noir control her tail-braid too? (Yeah her hair's got to be my favorite oart abour her costume)
ROAMANTIC SCENE IDEA!!! Ladybug does like to playfully flick Chat Noir's bell. But imagine Ladybug just casually talking to Chat while playing with his 'claws'. (Basically her playing with his fingers.)
More Marcaniel (Marc is my favourite character and you can't tell me that these two aren't platonically dating.)
Chat Noir acts 'normal' for a day as a prank or something and it bugs Ladybug (pun actually unintended) that she hasn't heard a single pun or joke from him.
Imagine if she tries to take over the 'humor department' by making terrible puns and miserably failing being funny.
In the end she's shaking him by the collar begging him to say something funny.
Imagine thier school having a prom and Marinette making her own dress. She asks Alya to come over and judge it but Alya's a troll and sends Adrien instead of herself for "model fashion advice". And for Adrienette purposes he is *mezmorized*
Imagine a behind the scenes au thing and everyone's getting in thier super hero get-up for the penalteam episode. Everyone' hair is literally the same, and Marc's is a friggin red rooster mohawk! Imagine the hair stylists and make up artists combing his hair up and spraying it with temporary red hair-dye-color. He took hours in the chair and when he came out of the trailer the other actors are like "iS thAt YoU?¿"
But seriously though Marc's Rooster bold costume is the only one where we can't actually tell it's Marc.
Again with the Penalteam episode, remember when Ladybug wass like to Nathaniel "aren't you the one who teamed up with a boy to make those Ladybug comics?" I half expected Nathaniel to freak out that Lady reads their fanfiction about her.
Luka and Marc's black nails.
Oh my god Marc painting Nathaniel's nails. (We need this)
Random question, can they take off their super hero costumes? (I actually dont think so because one, Ladybug's costume literally has no was out of it. And two, her mask wouldn't come off when Lady Wifi tried to pull it off her face.)
Where tf is miss Bustier's kid? New york special, she's pregnant. Which was a surprise because we didn't even know she was married. A season 4 later, she's still uh..... no baby yet? And no baby bump either.
A backstory episode about Gabriel and Emily. How close were these two that Gabriel is literally ready to destroy all of paris to steal jewelry from 14 year olds to resurect his wife.
