as a kid i used to have an irrational fear of dandelions just in general (they still do make me quite uneasy) because i thought when they were yellow that they would suddenly poof really quickly and get long and like have the fluffy out and i was constantly on edge around them

(i also thought this was a dangerous thing that could like harm you somehow, idk, dandelion elongating suddenly and stabbing you in the eye? :p)

oh also also i thought if i got remotely close to a poofed out one and breathed at all id inhale it and die

also also also when you blow them, after when its just the stalk and the like top bit, looks really creepy. idk. you took its head off it doesnt have a head anymore
