I always felt like after S5 his relationship with Nuwa is similar to the one Steven had with Rose after S5 of SU. So it's- complicated

Well, I would say Wukong, but here comes the question: a Stone Monkey, born from a stone, would be able to reproduce themself? There are no other like the four celestial primates and MK, so I would assume that they weren't able to- reproduce normally. Also if they would does it mean the womb is a stone as well???

I get anxious about posting my art because its usually hand drawn, non-committal sketches 💦 I personally really like reading about other people's creative processes so I tend to scribble notes all over my drawings, and then they get all messy and cluttered... I'm glad you like them regardless though.

I like drawing Onee-san!Yuu’s art eyes and hair… She is very dainty and cute! Her personality is fun to toy with too, since how she acts and how she’s truly feeling are so starkly different. I’ve thought about her so many times, it’s almost like she’s psychically reaching out to me in an attempt to have me formally implement her 😂 Again though, not sure if I’ll ever settle on a Yuu because the concept of a Yuu does not really interest me.

Aaaah, my RSA OCs were back from like 2020-2021. I never did manage to flesh them out and I think I’ve lost the fire to. I have several NRC OCs that I haven’t shared because they aren’t that fleshed out either. Of those, I think my favorite is my twisted!Iago (who is in part also inspired by my own pet)… He’s just a punk ass (first year Scarabia) kid and Jamil’s self-proclaimed minion (Jamil has no idea who he is).

Ironically, I think the most detailed NRC OCs I have at the moment are the three based on mob students:

Even then, I don’t think they’re super deep… Pome A can be summarized as "ex-delinquent who now has the goal of becoming 'a gentleman'" (similar to Deuce, who wants to be an honors student). Scarab B is basically a Jamil fan boy (though he's less angry/pushy about it than Sebek is; he has more eager puppy energy). The most detailed one of the bunch is Octa A, who is very anxious (Idia-sh) due to being sorted into Octavinelle, where his dorm members are constant sources of stress. Outside of that, he's a very... homely "boy next door" type. I picture him coming from a tightly knit island town and helping out his family at a community center where they help people find jobs that best suit them. (If you couldn't tell, a lot of Octa A's backstory is inspired by the Lilo and Stitch animated series.) The mob student OCs were conceived because I thought it would be funny to sometimes write from the perspective of unrelated onlookers watching all of the crazy stuff that happens on NRC campus and just going, "What, AGAIN????" They feel more like unserious gag characters, if anything.

I have actually considered writing a sequel to the Tale of the Cursed Raven for the longest time! If you've read the original tale, Vil, Azul, and Idia play prominent roles throughout it. The second saga would theoretically give the other dorm leaders (Malleus, Leona, Kalim, and Riddle) importance. Note that 3 out of 4 of the dorm leaders in the latter group are nobles or have noble relatives. That's because the (potential) sequel would involve themes of social status and who gets to shape the future. A-And hey, maybe it could focus on Raven's relationship with L*ona instead of J word this time-- The synopsis is as follows: Having finally broken her curse, Raven Crowley is now free to live as she wishes in a happily ever after of her own making... or is she? One day, a strange invitation arrives from an unknown sender, beckoning her to Briar Valley. Amid whispers of Malleus Draconia's ascension to the throne and a grand ball to decide the dragon's bride-to-be, the timing is certainly strange. "This is far too suspicious," she thinks. "I simply won't go." Then a sparkling carriage pulls up to the gates of Night Raven College, claiming to be looking for a princess in black feathers. Accompanying that carriage are two men cloaked in white and a woman that shines like starlight.

"Who are you?" Raven asks, feeling as though they've met before in some distant past. "Why, I'm your Fairy Godmother. I'm here to make all of your dreams come true."

Perhaps this meeting was always meant to be.

(I WANT TO BE CLEAR: despite how the synopsis sounds, it is NOT meant to be Raven x Malleus. I would appreciate it if readers refrained from discussing this topic, please and thank you.)

As you can probably tell by that 💦 the story sounds very ambitious... and unfortunately, I don't feel comfortable writing it because we're still missing so much from the canon main story. I'd like the OB Malleus and Grim arcs to complete so I understand the full scope of the story and how the loose ends are tied up (particularly Malleus's reaction post-OB and how, if at all, he embraces change). More lore on dragon fae would be helpful as well. I'd also ideally like a Briar Valley hometown event so I can see what the culture, traditions, people, politics, etc. are like before I attempt to depict it in my writing.

In this sequel, there would be many OCs introduced--at least 4 of them! I've been cooking a lot behind the scenes ^^ One of these OCs you've actually met in the original tale; it would be the Enchantress (Estella) that originally cursed the Storyteller. 2 of the other OCs are what I would describe as Estella's helpers, who are meant to be her equivalent to Silver and Sebek. One is inspired by the concept of the “messenger dove + dove with the olive branch” and the other is inspired by Swan Lake. The 4th and final OC is basically all but confirmed would be a foil character to Malleus, an ambitious nobleman twisted from Nerissa (the villain from Enchanted).

Here’s some doodles I have of the 4 OCs I mentioned! The first two are “the dove” and “the swan”, respectively. The bottom two are concepts for twisted!Nerissa and Estella.

This sequel would expand more on Estella's motives and background (something I mentioned in my afterthoughts), as well as tie in history and political intrigue as Raven’s forced to navigate those circles. It would most likely be set a year or so in the future, and the events that take place would inform Raven’s internship decision in her fourth year. (She would be a scribe in Briar Valley!) I’d like part II to feel like a story event that supplements or follows up on the development in part I/the main story.

xbjsbsjsjsb Anyway 🤡 That’s all I feel okay with revealing for now. I want to be clear and reiterate that this is all just a theoretical sequel and I’m not sure if I’ll actually get around to writing it. It’s definitely been fun to conceptualize though ^^

I didn't catch that about Bakugou!! Bakugou really one of those people who looks more like either parent when you put him next to that parent. Put him next to Mitsuki, he looks like Mitsuki. Put him next to Masaru and he looks like Masaru.

There was this cake we used to be offered sometimes in school lunches. It was delicious and served with butter. Some kinda fruit cake. I never knew what kind. I never, ever found it outside of school. And we didn't have it in high school.

I looked for this cake for years, trying any likely looking fruit cake. Nothing. For decades. Then one Christmas my parents get a fruit cake as a present. And. It's the cake. Finally after twenty odd years, this was the cake! I ask my dad to get the recipe. I MUST have the recipe!

So he does not get the recipe.

But he does find out it is called tea loaf. Excellent. The internet will know.

I find an easy recipe. I make the recipe. It LOOKS right. But it tastes wrong. The taste is wrong, the texture is wrong. It's kinda gross, to be frank.

I look up a different recipe. Maybe that was just a sucky recipe (after all, I've had that problem with banana bread).

OTHER recipe says 'wrap it up and leave it for a few days'.

Huh.

I wrap it up and leave it for a few days.

And somehow, magically, it becomes soft and delicious.

This is it. This is the cake!! After twenty odd years of searching!

Seriously though what the heck kind of cake tastes gross until you leave it for a few days?? That is not how cake works! What the heck?! ...anyway that was last year, this is my second attempt at tea loaf. It is perfect. Argh.

Currently craving: Crisps!! I want some so bad and we don't have any! And it's too late to go buy some but I wouldn't anyway because I have only had just over five hours of sleep and just finished a very long day at work. So no crisps for me.

“What makes you say that?” he asks you, his voice rough and low. this close, you can see the uncertainty laying there. his hair is still in his signature buns, his fringe covers dark plum eyes that can’t find a single place on your face to settle. they dart from your own gaze to your lips, to your chin where your lipgloss has smeared from kissing him. he squeezes your waist tightly before he places his hands back against the bed, seemingly unsure of what he should do with himself.

“Your mannerisms,” you mutter, head tilted to the side as you start running your finger down the column of his neck. “How unsteady and unsure you are about everything; my body, where your hands should go, how long you should suck on my tongue when you kiss me. You’re so in your head, I figured you’re either nervous because it’s me or because you’ve never done this before.”

“Both.” He answers in a rush of breath, palms finding your waist once more, his eyes a little wider than usual. “My father never taught me anything about sex, and I was too busy taking care of my brothers to really think about it. So this is all,” his voice slowly disappears with every inch of skin you reveal to him, a sly smirk spreading across your face.

“New?” You finish for him, shirt suddenly tossed across the room. He nods with a thick swallow, an obvious struggle to keep looking at your face, scared that he might objectify you and make you uncomfortable, but his look does everything but. “Do you want to fuck me, Choso?”

he groans so loud, you fear he’s cum in his pants already. it sure does feel like it, with how his cock twitches, thick where you rest on top of his pelvis, a wet spot suddenly growing between your legs. you can’t help but rock your hips ever so gently against him, grinning when his eyes fly shut and squeeze, his hands gripping you so tightly that you can’t tell whether or not he wants to stop you or encourage you.

okay i want to talk about canto vi again. this line is one of my favorite- the reference to the same scene in the book is not only precise but it also catches an implication there always is in the book, that hindley calls his sister catherine in front of heathcliff to signal that is what he wants HIM to do. despite nelly's later claims that the two just didn't talk for Who Knows What Reason, they both remember why: it's hindley breaking the bond between the two by stressing the barrier of race and class, something he'll keep doing for the rest of his life.

in the book this scene is also reprised in the second half. i think everybody knows the canto blends together the two generations, and it's interesting how hindley's behavior often reflects book!heathcliff's in many instances, like in this one, where he does his best to make hareton feel ashamed of himself, by stressing on his role as a servant and lack of education and refinement compared to catherine, to the point of not speaking or even looking at her.

it's much of the same. like book!heathcliff, hindley is noted to be extremely proud of this little plan of his falling together.

BUT beside this the interaction that i think is very interesting in this same chapter is the one that follows, linton and catherine discussing hareton--

it's a terrible scene on all sides for hareton, but of the two catherine appears (as usual) as just being kind of a snobby sheltered girl, while linton has some real fun out of insulting someone who is "beneath" him, and he feels comfortable doing so because he's already seen his father do the same. going back to the first quote, it's interesting how hindley uses the laziness as an insult, as beside being racially charged, it's also referencing this scene and what book!linton says to hareton. it reinforces the fact that book!linton and book!heathcliff's dynamic is being reprised through linton and hindley:

it's probably linton's most noticeable character trait, straight from his namesake, that he is incredibly cruel but doesn't have the physical strength to act on it, instead having to rely on other people to do it in his stead.

it sources many other points of his character- much like in the book!linton, catherine, hareton dynamic, linton effectively offers nothing to catherine as a partner, with the only thing he could use to "win her over" being his degrading of another based on his presumed superiority, and in the end even his pursuit of catherine appears much less like "devotion" and more like his need to own yet another thing for his collection, one more trophy to show that he is worthy of his name and wealth.

this characterization is consistent, and he prizes the idea of this devotion that makes him superior to others, acting as if his love not being requited makes him a better man than heathcliff, and holding this devotion up as a shield to refuse taking the blame, trying hard to give the impression he was the one with no agency, even when he was completely aware catherine's mental health had completely deteriorated and she was a danger to herself and others

in the end hindley and linton are incredibly similar people- hindley uses violence to carry out the belief in his own superiority, and linton must use words, but they're both as cruel and self-centered as the characters they're based on

ok but im rly into the idea of till having a new era that brings the light back to his eyes and drives him forward if he gets to escape the arena. idk where he'd go from there but i want to see ivans sacrifice both haunt him and drive him to actually live his damn life after being the captured bird refusing freedom cause of mizi. once he knows she's alive with the resistance he might be able to actually experience other things and widen his world and if that happens and he puts his personal sense of rebellion towards the human cause OR settles into finding some other way to feel fulfilment that isn't a single person that could be deeply fascinating to me i think

you know what, I actually will talk about this because it's bothering me. The issue with focussing so heavily on syd and carmy's potential for a romantic relationship isn't that there's something inherently unintellectual about romance or whatever, it's that a lot of people seem incapable of doing that without immediately flattening the story and ignoring or intentionally misreading any and all nuance for the sake of that romance. Every scene suddenly becomes about how it impacts their relationship, every analysis is done through a romantic lens, every frame or line of dialogue becomes about finding some easter egg or hint that "proves" these people should start dating. Their dynamic is absolutely a fundamental part of this show, but if you can only see it as a will-they-won't-they, you miss so much of what the story is actually trying to say with these two.

There are good versions of this story where their relationship is romantic and there are good versions of this story where it isn't, but as soon as you decide them being together is "the point," you lose the ability to actually judge the story for what it is, not what you want it to be.

okay so it wouldn't be like a DIRECT au of it, just like a heavily inspired by, but BUDDIE TWISTER/TWISTERS AU:

so. buck is a storm chaser. he's got his team, him and a few others, and then abby, his girlfriend. they're working on trying to find a way to tame a twister — to get it to stop before it can start enough to do it's damage. they think they've finally got it, only when they go to put it into test there is a horrible accident and buck loses the whole team, except abby. the two of them are the only survivors. and it is DEVASTATING, but buck is like at least abby and i can lean on each other in our grief, we can get through this together. only abby quits. she quits stormchasing then and there and she leaves, just disappears, leaving buck alone with his grief. (if we want to be Extra Angsty, perhaps she even leaves with some sort of comment that implies she blames him for what happened).

so buck quits too — only it's not a permanent quit, of course. his sisters boyfriend, chimney, is a stormchaser, and when bucks home visiting maddie one day, chimney is there and he's talking about his teams plan (maybe his team was also after the same sort of twister tamer thing — maybe even based off of bucks teams initial research) and he's asking buck about it and buck hasn't thought about this stuff in a while (lies; he's thought about that incident every day since it happened.) but like enough time has passed that talking about it with someone else who's enthusiastic about the research rather than just interested in the tragedy of it all, starts to excite him a little too. and chimney tells him he should come with, when he and his team head out in a week. and after some Thinking and some encouragement from maddie, buck agrees and goes with chimney.

and so buck joins the 118 — consisting of chimney and hen and bobby (and maybe ravi too bc i love ravi okay). and it's good. they're a great team, brilliant, and they're all about helping people too. like, yes, their research is important to them, and they're fighting tooth and nail to achieve their goal, but they're put that on pause if there's even a chance for them to go help people evacuate or find shelter or clean up in the aftermath — and that's something buck really loves about the team. bc that's all he wants to do, help people. so buck fits right in with them and it's. it's fun, again. he did miss this.

and, of course, the 118 has a riiiiiival team — another group of stormchasers who are ALSO trying to find a way to stop the twisters before they can do their damage. they're both close, so it's kind of like a competition between them, which team will capture success first? but this team (not really sure who it'll consist of yet) but im undecided on if eddie would be the leader of the group or if he's just a team member, but. eddie dia,z with his sweeeeet texan twang, and his big cowboy hat and his flashy belt buckles and his charm, he's there. and their team is popular in the stormchasing world, and everyone's eyes are on them too.

but like it's always those two — the 118 and eddies team — at the forefront of it all, they're always chasing the same storms.

and both teams are on the cusp of a big storm, but the 118 catch wind that there's a small town in the path of this one, and they decide instead of following the twisters they're going to head to the town to help the people there. and they end up veering off the path and eddie notices and then HE finds out about the town and he tells his team they need to go help too but his team is like dude NO we gotta get to the twister, the 118 are gone so this is our chance to be the ones to test our tornado tamer solution, WE could beat them. and like eddies team has clearly lost the whole point of all of this — to save people. but HE hasn't, so he goes rogue and he heads to the town instead, where he finds the 118 and they're a bit wary of him at first bc it feels out of character for someone from his team to be here doing this rather than chasing the storm, but at this point im thinking buck and eddie have already had some conversations (MAYBE eddie has actually saved buck once already too so like that trust between them is already built) and buck just immediately starts shouting instructions and eddie falls into line with them and the two of them work flawlessly together and the rest of the 118 is like yeah okay he's good people and they welcome him in too.

and maybe eddies team runs into trouble too and eddie catches wind of it (he's still connected to their radios maybe?) and he's like fuck we gotta help them too so he and buck break off to go help that team (bc even if they're the 118's rivals and even if they're on the verge of the breakthrough the 118 has been chasing too, that doesn't matter rn. what matters is saving as many lives as possible) so the two of them break off to go help and they DO but eddies teams solution DOESNT work, but they took the 118's truck that was loaded with THEIR solution so buck and eddie let that loose and THAT DOES end up working and so buck and eddie save eddies team AND the town AND each other.

and, OF COURSE, through all of that buck and eddie fall in love, and in the end eddie ends up joining buck's team, and they chase storms together, and when they have bad days, when they have close calls, they're there for each other and they're not going anywhere, and they ALWAYS have each other's backs <3

Pain is being an ulquihime shipper but having to block/avoid most of them because they are weirdly anti-Orihime, anti-bleach ending, or "anti how Kubo wrote Orihime" even though she's one of the most consistently and well-written female characters in Shounen as well as the fact that they try to make Ulquiorra care more about Orihime than he actually did in the manga or even god forbid try to say that Ulquiorra cared more about Orihime than Ichigo did.
