Has anyone heard of [End of Days] by [Arise]?

My twitch VOD of [RIBBIT] (a cool [Deltarune] mod) got bits of it muted. A total of 6 minutes, split in two portions of 3 minutes each.

Checking the reason why, it seems that whatever system that flags these things though I was playing a song by a swedish death metal / thrash metal band, [Arise], from their last (as of writing) album [The Reckoning].

Now, [RIBBIT] does employ a multitude of different songs and genres to replace the regular OST (a lot of [Aphex Twin]) while mostly using other games soundtracks, even including an option for an alternative playlist replacing some of the more flaggable songs. But none of them really come that close to thrash metal ([Doom (2016)]'s Theme coming the closest). So what could have caused twitch to misidentify something as a metal song?

[Otherside]. By [Akira Yamaoka]. From the 1999 soundtrack of [Silent Hill]. I'm not super familiar with the game series, but heavy metal doesn't seem like a part of its themes.

Had it been a mistake? How could the song [End of Days] be confused for [Otherside]? Begrudgingly logging on to spotify to check, I discovered that no, it wasn't, but twitch had only gotten it partly right...

The last track of [The Reckoning], [End of Days], is 8' 31'' long, with the actual song lasting for 4' 32'', followed by a pause of 2' 48'' before [Otherside] plays for the remaining 1'11'', with a recording of someone coughing their lungs out played over it, probably the vocalist after performing a death scream. It's essentially a hidden track.

But it is unmistakably [Otherside]! It's not sampled or modified in any way aside from the phone quality voice clip added in. And so far I haven't been able to find any information regarding this, [Arise] doesn't seem as a particularly well known band, and I haven't had much luck on forums or pages dedicated to [Silent Hill].

Is this allowed? Is there really nothing stopping people from ripping video game tracks? Or maybe [Arise]'s lack of popularity kept them under Konami's radar, dodging a legal hissy fit. I wonder if [Akira Yamaoka] was credited...

i dont know, im still mad the VOD got 6 minutes muted for such a bullshit reason. and i KNOW i cant appeal for getting it unmuted because: 1.) the song DOES appear in an [Arise] track, even if it doesnt belong to them (and the irony of it is STILL hitting me hard), and 2.) im not giving twitch my real home address. thats a bullshit requirement for something that can be easily checked to understand the amount of bullshit this whole thing is. just listen to the 2 tracks, cmon.

#zeno's art #ocs #reassassination #octavia krankenstein #oh i got a LOT to say about this one #in the comic octavia starts wearing this outfit after a certain event i think n its very symbolic #it represents mainly how her personality has changed as well as her relationship with kranken and humanity as a whole #lets do it top to bottom. FIRSTLY the mask that replaces her goggles that she wore in the “summer” outfit #the mask represents several things. firstly that octavia's relationship with kranken improved #i think the mask itself is probably kranken's and octavia uses it. showing that they've become closer #and ALSO even using a mask to hide her identity while working is in line with kranken's ideas of clothing being practical rather than flashy #(see her first outfit was originally really frumpy and practical before she DIY'd it into the minidress type thing)#anyway. the hoodie is supposed to harken more to an executioner showing octavia is more used to her job #the hoodie has eyelets which are circles. the fact that there are way more circles in the design shows that she becomes less cold #and more assimilated into human society #the gloves however are a sign of her persistent rebellion as they're fingerless and impractical lol #the pants are based off of tripp nyc's design. which was popular with mallgoths in the 90s/00s #it shows octavia's own personality and interests and of course has two hidden sets of 6's through the eyelets #lastly her shoes resemble skulls. that one's just for fun #while her first outfit completely represented rebellion i like to think this one bridges the gap between rebellion and octavia settling down #and becoming more familiar with those around her #this is only the first pass so i'll prob incorporate more red into the outfit before it's finalised #octavia isn't the only one who changes either! i want like ~3 changes for almost everyone

So how do you think the darkeyed politics resolved in WAT? I remember seeing so much criticism on it for previous books but I'm only seeing some stuff for this one.

oh bad lol. it's always bad. i think maybe it was less insanely tone deaf and more just not physically in the book for sa5 (just as bad) so maybe that's why you're seeing less of it but it's always bad. i think white fantasy authors often find examples of racism and classism or real world historical models of oppression and think "hooray hooray a fun little thing i can use to spice up my worldbuilding" and not in the real sense of like. this is a thing that happens to people and affects their worldview in a way that sometimes doesn't befit a narrative arc. i remember watching a 'what your fave fantasy series say about you' yt video by a popular fantasy booktuber years ago who got to n. k. jemisin's broken earth series (the best series to ever have done the fantasy racism thing imo) and said "if this is your fave series you probably care more about The Message than you do anything else about the book" and man. fuck off lol. wtf is that supposed to mean? like oh a black woman took fantasy racism SERIOUSLY and immediately white people send her award winning series to fucking DEI hell? just write her off immediately because theyre not used to actually examining the oppression so many of them love writing about?

i wasn't expecting anything different from stormlight 5 and there were a couple of wins (kaladin's eyes, mentioning the kharbranth murders, what seems to be irrefutable narrative destiny that points to a positive moash resolution, some singer stuff but not all) but it doesnt change the fact that people who read way of kings and expected a story that cared more about dismantling systems of power than it did about writing....how many? two full on sieges? two sieges with the promise of a third? are going to feel cheated out of what was set up early in the series.

learning abt friendship decay and "not reaching out to your friends for months at a time unprompted is not neurotypical behaviour" has me feeling a certain way

#experiencing some BIG FEELINGS OVER THIS REVELATION #listen i have never ever been bothered abt not seeing someone in a while or making time to talk to them bc in my mind its like not thst muc #time has passed. i mean it with every fibre of my being that when im like 'oh its ok even though we havent talked in a while and have our #own things going on it doesnt mean we're not friends anymore since we left things on a good note 8 months ago' i sincerely believe that #and for the longest time i just thought everybody makes peace with it at some point and not automatically assuming the other person doesnt #wanna talk to me anymore or smth. my longest lasting friendships are with ppl who work the same way i just thouhght that was normal #whatever organ everybody has that makes them reach out to their friends and plan hang outs i probably dont have it #i was already hesitant to ask out Alex bc i spend almost every waking hour doing smth that isnt talking to ppl unless they happen to be in #the vicinity. and at first it was bc i planned on making sure i had everything set up so i dont get stressed out and do it one at a time #but then i find out theres a friendship decay mechanic? and after dating and marrying someone you lose -10 friendship points for every #day u dont talk to them?? actually ive probably been losing friendship points this whole time without knowing bc of this?????#and i notice a lot of my own habits are also reflected in how i play bc ive been avoiding getting close to pierre and marnie since its more #of a professional relationship. like i know theyre npcs but im approaching it the way i would in real life its fucking nuts #i think its a little relieving im playing /as/ a character than myself bc as im playing im just making up little interactions in my head #than approaching things the way i would myself so it takes a bit of the stress off trying to put myself in there as a spectator. but well #being in a relationship demands a certain amount of energy even more so when theyre things that already take up energy on its own #like making time to talk to your partner and make sure they know theyre loved. i dont always have energy to put all my mental focus into it #and this is true for real life so im not really bothered by not dating anyone. but when its a game and i want my character to be with someo #and i know its fully optional and i know i could just apply the same logic to this i dont /want/ to. sometimes i want to experience #the same things other people do at least to a certain degree without the same emotional andmental stakes #no offense krobus #yapping #stardew #stardew valley #puppy plays sdv #sdv #this game has me by the ankles man

i think it really says something that loop only uses their stronger attacks in their second phase. i think it really says something that you have to bring them down to 0hp four (4) times, attacking them repeatedly + proving that you are willing to genuinely hurt/kill them, before they'll use their most powerful attacks on siffrin

#my characters #haha funny thing is that venus doesnt even exist in base plot she is ONLY for AUs #in base plot ego the ginger guy is a prince and serenity the navy haired guy is an energy alien #and serenity takes on the form of a human to be fake engaged to ego and its never meant to actually end up with them married #but serenity falls in love with the prince and feels immense guilt when they meet up #and then ego is like HAHA YEAH my life is the greatest cause i get to marry my best friend but technically youre best friend by default #since i have zero other friends because i cannot leave the castle which kinda sucks but whatever #and serenity can give his life force to others to keep them healthy and usually stops by to heal egos younger brother #so he looks tired a lot bc he is depleting his own life to help others #and and in au versions hes just chronically tired and very much in love with ego who is completely oblivious #and half the time they (bc theyre mine) are pining mutually thinking ahaha theres no WAY hed like me #or in egos case a lot of the time in the au its what if he only likes me cause i spoil him rotten bc im super wealthy and i love gifting #and serenity ! in base plot since he is an alien from like... space.... basically... another realm #he resides with another royal family in a different kingdom and the king there treats him like a son #which plays into the au versions where serenity is adopted and he just really loves his dad a lot #like really admires the man who adopted him and raised him as a single father who almost always has a connection to egos dad since #in base theyre just two kings being buddies and trying to get good relations between their kingdoms #but anyway ego is one of the few ocs i have that will actively say #I LOVE YOU SO MUCH : D very openly and i love that for him??#not a lot of my ocs will be that open about their feelings but ego is very good at communication and talking and stuff #compared to serenity who is an alien who doesnt even have to talk where he originated bc the aliens are just blue energy blobs #and they sense each other and communicate silently #so making him take a human form is like MMMM not sure how to interact like a normal human tbh #i owe art to one person then i am able to get back to indulgent stuff for me and reqs and stuff #this was just so i had something to post today since idk if the art i owe someone will be cool to post or not

I think the most baffling thing about the Tulpar as a vessel to me is the fact that the ship really did only have a one way communication system.

I know it was cheap but even the most basic of vessels regarding major transport would have some way, shape or form for outside communication. Not only that but there was absolutely no form of innate emergency signal to show they may have been offline or in trouble despite clearly having a system to dock credits if they went off course. It's another factor that really shows that bad situations are made to get worse by design. One person who is required to relay all information to the crew and make all the choices without feedback. No way to update or call for help in case of a dire situation. No way to inform of inner personal conflicts and acquire procedures accordingly.

It really is like they are all in some sort of fucked up solitary confinement. They have their own world with strict roles that are meaningless in the end, as long as the cargo makes it, it doesn't matter what happens on that ship to the company. They don't want to hear anything and will come to conclusions on what happened based on how much pay they can withhold from the workers. Even what they do send is short, sterile and corporate to the extent it was likely written and sent out with a command by some random unmanned computer in an office.

There's something to be said about how unfair it is to force absolute power and control onto one person when you as an entity could do so much more to offload it but I've said it many times before so I won't again.

#its just like idk i dont think Curly was a bad captain because we only have this scenerio and I certainly dont think a man like Swansea #would like him or have very little issues with him specifically if he was incompentent or too lienent in the past but I do think the stress #was making him worse and worse as being a present leader as it dawned on him how much he actually had to handle like I really think he #just wanted to do yknow normal captain pilot stuff and fly the ship and yknow the little stuff like make sure things run right and over tim #the constant stress and strain of having to make every major choice started to grate on him and freak him out cause they cant even fucking #eat unless he pulls out the scanner and starts cooking like he has to choose the meal likely or have a vote and i make that part of the #reason he seems so indecisive and inactive is the fact he has to make the choice all the time and he's hoping he can at least make the crew #feel a little more in control of themselves as people by staying out of affairs like the game or disputes because god he literally has to #choose for them all the time like thats a lot of responsibility monitering their sleep their breaks food consumption thats all on him like #it really should be another persons job entirely as thats almost like absoulte contrl over the lives of everyone else that PE forces onto #that title and its also crazy how everyone accepts it even if they dont like it like they broke the food machine open rather than get the #scanner they all waited two months before Jimmy appointed himself leader its so scary how conditioned they all are to the environemnt #cause that sort of mindset is sadly real where people just wait everyone just waited until it was getting real dire and then they still #followed Jimmy without too many complaints like i saw a fic or post where Anya acknowledges they all kinda just let Jimmy do what they want #because he became the captain and it was stupid on all their parts cause they could clearly see how bad he was and yet he was captain so #they just fell in line to their roles and thats a bigger point towards how PE treated them and the complacency capitalism brings to you #just like something that irks me because idk I know Curly is slow to act but he's not as like unopinionated as people make him out to be #like he does try to find solutions but they are still restricted at the end of the day by what PE provides them and I think his biggest c #crime is being in his own head too much and not giving Anya that emotional stability cause like idk man was he supposed to go to Home Depot #himself and install like padlocks? even if the let Anya sleep in medical after she pointed it out she was already pregnant at that point #like we arent seeing the inherent issue that no one not even Anya herself was thinking of the preventative measures because a)there was a #point nothing was happening that necessitated them b) it would've been the responsibility of PE to address them pre and post incident and c #there is only one person on the entire ship given the authority to do anything. You can not make multiple important choices in one instance #in such little time and Curly should not have had that total power like i think the most interesting thing in takes that really blame Curly #is that level of control they give him over the company. Like again i think about the three days we miss between the eval/party and the #convo/crash like i think people switch them around as if those scenes happen in succession when they are broken up and its heavily implied #Curly and Jimmy just havent been talking vs the depiction that she told him and for like three days Curly was just chummy despite the fact #Jimmy and him just had a blow out fight like the next time we assume they talk is during the crash sequence cause he honestly hangs #around Anya more which i think is really important because she trust Curly to defend her himself but not his judgement to give her somethin #to defend herself as she knows he believes her but also knows she's not seeing the danger the same and its heartbreaking and more

Which honestly I think is interesting.#I don't know if I like it yet but when every other Khaenri'ah character has one of their major traits being that they super fucking #care that they are Khaenri'an (whether that be Kaeya with his paranoia/destiny/duty or Dain with his guilt over his failure/desire to #prevent our sibling from fucking with anything too much or whatever the fuck is going on with Pierro)#having a character who is Khaenri'an but doesn't seem to particularly be invested in that part of themself is different #she cares more about the curse and its effects on her then she ever really cares about the Crimson Moon Dynasty or the cataclysm #IDK I think it's neat from a character writing angle. or at least it has the potential to be if the writers do a good job.#But from a 'I like maybe 3 things in this game and one of them is Khaenri'ah' perspective it SUCKSSSSS #That part of the plot is already suffering from chronic live-service storytelling disease where people just straight up don't tell you #shit that they logically SHOULD BE TELLING YOU because the game needs to save plot points to build hype around #so for one of like 4-ish (depending on how much we count Albedo) Khaenri'an major characters to give us literally 1 and 1/2 voicelines #kinda sucks ngl. but again it's also interesting and realistic for Arlecchino and from that angle I like it #she doesn't care about what fate says her place in the world is. she's gonna carve her own and being Khaenri'an isn't relevant to #the life and identity she has built for herself. she isn't the type to look for answers she doesn't need. she's practical and efficient.#at the very least it's better than when Albedo 'I want to find all the world's truths' Kreideprinz doesn't let the audience in on his stuff
