My opinion

People say the reason that I hate Jily is because I ship Jegulus which is not true. I dont ship it because in my heart she is a lesbian that is what i believe. Lily was always different Petunia hated her and called her a freak her own sister who she loved her parents did not understand her and at school she was called a mudblood and bullied because of it. Everyone was expecting her to date James Potter but she spent 7 years rejecting him not because he bullied snape although it might be part of something but because she was lesbian and she already had a lot of people who hated her. Her one long time friend stabbed her in the back while she was trying to help him and called her a mudblood. So I think she married James because she knew that he would stay unlike everyone else in her life

i like the idea that lily is one of the smartest people in hogwarts but she's also just like

very clumsy. she drops things, she trips on air, and she's very unlucky too, gum sticks randomly on her hair (mary or marlene always cuts the tips of her hair every month or so because of that), and everytime something like that happens, she makes an odd sound as she snorts and laughs.

because yes, she's clumsy and unlucky, but she's surprisingly positive about it, she finds everything to be very funny, and mary and marlene are so used to it by now that they're always ready to hold her before she falls, take her out of the way of something that's being thrown, or just hold something she dropped before it breaks.

i like lily being a bit of a mess, let her be a bit of a failgirl as a treat, she's adorable, and she's a genius!!!!

(also, mary can't help but look so, so fond and in love with her whenever lily laughs when she trips on the hem of her robes, like she makes the entire day brighter just by smiling)

Was thinking today of Gilbert’s propensity for calling Anne “wife’o’mine” or else, as above, the way he reverently publicly refers to her as such in the company of friends.

And reflecting on this drew me immediately back to Anne playing at the Lily Maid (and herself nearly accidentally meeting the same fate as Tennyson’s Elaine), and the first time Gilbert saves her life (and the beginning of her softening on her grudge against him)… only to remember/realise;

So basically, I would bet my whole entire life that “wife of mine” is actually an in-joke, meant and originating as a private call back to Avonlea’s own Lily Maid of Barry’s Pond. 🥹🥹🥹 It’s even extra layered with meaning when we consider that the Lily Maid is essentially the story of a girl dying at the ‘hand’ of unrequited love. (Elaine professes she loves Lancelot [whose life she had a saved], but alas – he only wishes to be her friend. And then, of course, Elaine, weaken, later dies from her broken heart. If we reverse these roles, exactly who does that all sound like btw?)

this past month i've been imagining what various OCs of mine-- some from a DECADE ago, some of which i've never talked about publicly-- would look like in MET gala style outfits! the theme was THE FOUR ELEMENTS and characters were sorted into whichever element i felt suited them best.

Leo Callisto (The Gemini Heist). i just know Leo looked at the earth theme and went "florals? for earth? groundbreaking," and decided she was gonna be so original doing something she actually likes: gold. i mean, gold comes from the ground, right? ("shouldn't Leo be in fire?" you ask, for some reason. no. Leo is the most earth person ever. Leo is the epitome of a Capricorn, actually. she doesn't even have any major Leo placements in her chart.)

Gabi Franco (The Gemini Heist). idk i just can't see Gabi as anything other than a cute little mushroom gnome kjfsdkd. she's so cute i wanna squish her.

Lily Florès (Aurora Hearts: Mirage). Lily is a super old OC that i repurposed for a friend's universe, and has plant powers. she is... well. she is a lily. (AND YES HER NAME IS A PUN OKAY. 2014 ME THOUGHT I WAS SOOO COOL WITH MY THEMED NAMES. SHUT UP.)

Vanessa Villa-Cortez (Girls With White Teeth). Vanessa's look was inspired to be a bog body. this is because (and this is not a spoiler, this literally happens right at the beginning of the story) she is dead <3

Tabitha & Detroit Lewis (Alloy). these disaster vigilante superhero twins have metal-themed powers, so i had visions of metallic, futuristic outfits for them. and Tabitha doesn't go anywhere without her heelys.

Will Keagan (UnSuper Squad). Will is the kind of person who would show up to the met gala in a plain black suit, but i wouldn't allow him to. he COULD have also been a bog body bc even tho he doesn't die he does a lot of rotting in bed lol but Vanessa already took that theme. so. idk. bugs? i just didn't want to do another floral.
