It had been two days since she crashed onto my planet, and I knew that my life would never be the same.

I found her under the wing of her ship hiding from the rain. She seemed dry, but water leaked from her eyes. She held a tattered paper to her chest with two other humans etched into the surface. They were older, flashing their teeth and looking into each other’s eyes.

She was shaking but held my gaze with a primal rage readying for battle. Despite their size, this ferocity coded into their biology matched his own and in that moment I knew we were the same. Separated by an endless void kissed by stars, we knew how it felt to be untethered. Drifting with no one to pulls us from the unyielding abyss but our own strength. In that moment suspended in time I saw her. Knew her. A single blazing gaze from her set me aflame and I knew I loved her. I knew, I knew.

How public was the knowledge that Dick Grayson (not Nightwing) and Starfire dated? I remember seeing some panels with them meeting in public (somewhere at the airport?) but I'm actually not sure. Because now I remembered this:

It would be so funny if Dick, in his civillian life, got a reputation that he somehow knows all sorts of aliens. Someone spotting him talking to Superman (Clark) while out of Nightwing costume? Maybe someone saw him discussing something with Martian Manhunter? Figures, that Grayson kid got himself another one.

My absolute favourite Superbat trope is both of them knowing Clark could literally kill Bruce in a heartbeat, but both of them knowing he never would.

Despite the awareness of this power, Bruce trusts Clark.

Bruce gets off on knowing the most powerful being in the world is wrapped around his finger, beck and call. His ever paranoid brain never fully convinced that Clark couldn't just turn. A bad day, a biological beckoning, maybe he's a damn sleeper agent. Or maybe he could just get carried away and grip Bruce during a wave of pleasure he has no control over, and break him.

But all those thoughts are cut short and fears ignored whenever he looks at Clark. His smiling face, his glinting eyes. The fluffiness of his hair. The scrunch of his eyebrows when he's writing, the frustrated click of his tongue when he can’t think of a word.

His genuine clumsiness. Tripping over his own feet. Sat down and managing to miss his mouth, coffee spilling down his shirt. The soft avoidance of curses due to Southern manners, and their Bruce's children being present.

The most gentle of touches when he interacts with the kids, just in case.

Likewise, Clark enjoys knowing the ever paranoid Batman is willing to succumb to him because he trusts him. The man who has a contigency plans for his darn contingency plans.

The man who won't let anyone know when he's injured after a battle because it's a sign of vulnerability he can't allow. Yet his eyes will find Superman's. Only partly because he knows Kal-El would be able to see the extent of his injuries even if Batman tried to convince him they weren't there. Mostly, because the only times he'll cross Batman's boundaries is when it's a matter of care for Bruce's wellbeing. That look that Batman sends him is an admittance of needing help. He'd never say it. The look is enough.

Kal will quite visibly and unashamedly use his powers against Bruce, willing to see what Bruce tries to deter everyone else from. Then, still against Batman's wishes, he'll overpower him. Drag him away from the battle and somewhere he can recover. It's one of the few instances where he'd use his strength as an advantage and Bruce knows that. Bruce trusts him not to do it for any other intention. Bruce makes Clark feel human in a world that likes to remind him that he's not.

Clark would never hurt a damn fly but he could. But Bruce knows him.

Seeing things from Till's perspective, everything must be so very confusing. Like his life is getting progressively worse than it already was, the person who is his only source of comfort and hope has disappeared and may have died(he failed to protect her. she is the only reason he stayed in his own private hell, the reason he gave up his longed for freedom from the aliens and he failed). He was completely alone and on top of that he was being abused, dehumanized and violated in every way possible. Gradually losing all motivation and strength until he became so depressed that the sense of self and danger no longer exists.

Then, he's going to sing in a deadly competition against this boy he was kind of friends with when they were kids. He was kinda weird and got on Till's nerves occasionally, but yeah they played together, they fought sometimes and one time he sort of offered all the freedom in the world outside of that place for some reason. But anyway, life has no more meaning so he gives up singing and decides to die. Understandable.

But, out of the absolute NOWHERE, that boy who was almost his friend kisses him(??????) for no reason and he doesn't stop. Then, as if it wasn't already fucking weird, Ivan chokes Till. And. Honestly. It makes more sense. Maybe Ivan has a desire to live or something. He doesn't tho. Not right now. Or, who knows, Ivan was taking out his anger on him because if only Till had agreed to run away with him that night, they wouldn't be in this situation. Practically suicidal, he accepts death by Ivan's hands. But then, out of nowhere(again) Ivan FALLS TO THE GROUND with BLOOD DRAINING from his mouth. And he DIES. His plan to die was over and Ivan died for him without any explanation or warning.

Many people say he is sad or angry, but I swear I think this man is in the deepest state of shock. He hadn't been able to move an inch since the end of the performance and stared at Ivan's dead body until the lights went out. He wasn't conscious enough to even try to stop the bleeding. I'm very curious to see how he will react to all this

Shout out to this book I'm reading for actually using the original proper definition of the title "harem" and using the typical modern usage to cause some very good drama in the narrative due to the misunderstanding.
