As a dad, even when his eldest is 15/16, Rafe's parental anxiety doesn't go away. His daughter has proven plenty of times that she's responsible and trustworthy and can make good choices, but that doesn't stop Rafe from worrying everytime she goes off with friends or stays the night somewhere else. He's constantly texting and asking if she's okay, if they need anything, if things are going well etc... Despite your efforts to keep him calm and collected, you find it endearing to see that he still cares so deeply about her wellbeing and whereabouts, more than Ward ever did for him. And as the years roll on, he does learn to relax, to accept that she's a grown woman and can look after herself, but that doesn't stop her from sending messages to him - unprompted now as this has been going on for years - where she is, what she's up to and if she's with anyone he might know, just to give him peace of mind.
