One of my favorite things about Eigong is how deeply selfless she is.

She fucked up! She majorly fucked up! And she spent the rest of her adult life trying to fix that mistake, because above ALL else, she wanted Solarians to live.

The problem is, she didn’t confide in anyone, and she spiraled. Death, to her, is the worst possible scenario. The mutated solarians are still… “alive,” technically. Ultimately, when you fuck up THAT badly, it’s easier to think that it was a good thing than to accept that you doomed your species.

She’s coping. Not well, but she’s coping. She doesn’t want to believe that she’s the reason Solarians are going to die out. She cares so, so deeply for everyone around her, and understanding that is essential to understanding her.

I’ll never get people who call Eigong selfish, or cruel. She is fundamentally one of the most selfless characters in game, to the point of being self-sacrificing.

When you give and give and give, and all it seems to do is make things worse… no wonder she went off the deep end.
