Y'all I am 32. Yes I have tried all of those things. Its impossible to avoid those things. No, they don't work, I have the literal Planning and Habit-Forming Disability. The Noisy Brain Condition. No that isn't an excuse and no, I have no idea how to "fix" it, and neither, apparently, does anybody else.

All throughout elementary and middle school I was provided a planner where I was supposed to write my homework as a reminder. In 4th/5th grade it was a requirement that I get the entries signed off by a parent, and it was checked at the end of the week. If I didn't have it signed off, I would be penalized. Myself and the other confirmed ADHD kids (all boys ofc) were the only ones ever penalized. And that still didn't work.

They stopped the signature babysitting in middle school, but I rarely remembered to use the planner. Within two weeks of school I forgot it existed.

There's a calendar in my kitchen that's still on Nov 2022.

I put up a whiteboard in one of the most trafficked areas of my house and I forget it exists.

I always opt-in for text message reminders for dr.'s appointments, and I will read them, and they will be visible in my list of recent texts, and I still will sometimes forget.

I put up a fucking. Calendar planner. Right infront of my desk above my primary work monitor. Its constantly in my periperhal vision and I still sometimes forget it exists.

If you ask me to do something while I'm in the middle of something else and I don't immediately do it, the task has a very high chance of being forgotten.

Literally, the best solution for reminders I have ever found was writing it on my hands, because my hands never leave me, but that looks like shit and people judge you for it.

No I don't have any solutions but I felt the need to vent.
