FINALLY a theory on which I KNOW YOu ALL have been waiting for for me to talk about

WHAT IN THE WORLD IS A LOVE GIVEN/TRUE FORM?!

First off, I believe Love-Given and True forms are the SAME in Boueibu's universe, as Wombat says:

What does this exactly mean? I believe the lovracelets help unlock their forms.

Okay, so WHAT do you mean then? I believe that means each boy was always destined to become a Battle Lover/Caerula Adamas member. This includes Gora AND the twins as well.

In fact, right as Wombat even HOLDS his hand up, the boys are glowing. I believe this is slight evidence that they were at least destined to be Battle Lovers, there really is no way that this could be chosen at random IMO.

Along side this, Yumoto naturally adapts into being a hero quickly, which I KNOW, staff probably meant it bc his brother was Maximum Gorar but, even GORA in s2's flashbacks show that he adapts fairly quickly in his weird training sequence.

NOW, when you go to s1ep11, Zundar and Hireashi are talking about how they're in a rut with CIDE2 but interestingly enough, THIS conversation happens (Hireashi calls the power of love, stupid love and that the stupid love power is why he failed last time)

Why does this exactly matter to this theory? Because it DOES show that Hireashi KNEW there were beings on Earth who could oppose him with the power of love. HE KNOWS THIS because of his fight with Gora and he did know of the Battle Lovers thanks to Kinosaki.

He knew that Gora had a brother, not sure if Hireashi KNEW that Yumoto/Battle Lover Scarlet was but he would surely know by s1ep10 after Kinosaki watches Gora run up to Yumoto and the others WHILE yelling Yumoto's name. He WOULD Know at least by ep11, when he says THIS:

BUT GOING BACK to True/Love-Given Forms, what does it mean for s2 then when s1's bracelets break? These bracelets JUST allow them to use their true forms, I think their forms are deep in their hearts.

Why are they STRONGER? S1 they were just LOVRACELETS, in s2 they are their TRUE LOVRACELETS. These forms are stronger and can let them unleash more power.

What about Gora then? What did Aki and Haru MEAN when they said THIS:

Same with before, I believe Battle Lover Scarlet is Yumoto's true form.

Io's real form? Battle Lover Sulfur. Kinshiro's real form? Chevalier Aurite. Atsushi? Battle Lover Epinard. Haru? Salty Sol.

It really IS in a way self-explanatory.

This is why the monsters are in Binan, these aliens/villains from space, can SENSE the True Forms/Love-Given Forms deep inside the boys, this is why I think Kinshiro being chosen by Zundar, was NOT random. Neither was the others.

SAME, With Dadacha choosing the twins. WHY ELSE would Dadacha come up to two children randomly? He SENSED it in them. He knew he had to exploit their powers/true forms before someone such as Wombat could pick them. It would be easy to as well with the twins being the only few humans IN Andromedia

Hashibiro FINDING GORA? He would have sensed it strongly due to him AND Yumoto, but Yumoto would have been roughly six-eight years old when Gora was in High School (depending on how old Gora is here).

AND THIS IS WHY Wombat landed IN the Kurotama bathhouse, he could sense the forms of Epinard and Cerulean along with Scarlet AND Gorar.

we see time and time again that the Battle Lovers can heal without being transformed. Along side this, in s1ep7 En notes that the Student Council had a weird vibe around them.

AND with them being dubbed as "Heirs to the Throne of Love", this must mean IMO that their true/love-given forms are CONNECTED to the Throne of Love.

Hopefully we find out more in the movie....

Season 1 - Episodes 1-3

Episode 1:

- Man, when i first watched this back in the day i had no idea how much of an impact itd have on my life.

- boueibu is so full of japanese wordplay i can tell When theyre making a joke but not What the joke is. Tbh watching boueibu really helped my anime-watching comprehension cuz it taught me to think 'im sure this makes more sense in japanese'

- Once again I forgot that Atsushi is the class lead, surprised that didnt come up more in the plot ?

- Love how Shirai Yusuke began his career voicing Io, who is relatively formal and mature, to then go on to be a beloved chaos demon in the seiyuu world

- Fun fact the first boueibu fanart i drew was NSFW fanart of yumoto and it will Never see the light of day. Never. I'll just say it involved Love Sticks.

- GOD Im realizing how many times i've seen ep1 bc i was so desperate for More when it first came out, i watched and rewatched ep1 SO many times in that first week

- always loved that Atsushi's love stick is a clover and epinard means spinach. hes just a leaf.

- Will never forgive them for translating "ore-sama faiya" as "i am awesome fire", ore-sama hits so much harder.

- Context for when this first came out: i was in high school but going to community college for high school credit 💅 and intentionally was not making friends bc i was trying to figure out the whole Me situation, so boueibu was so damn important to me at the time

- I took one look at Akoya at the end of this ep and i have never been the same since, it was blorbo at first sight

Episode 2:

- OBVS the seitokai are my favs

- I think around the time this ep came out i was shipping Enatsu and Ioryuu mainly, but was rly ok woth any combo of characters

- i totally understand why En was and is so popular, he rly is the hot one of the main charas

- throwback to a small group of ppl using tawarayama sensei dying as a reason to call the show problematic bc it was making a joke of death 🙄

- zundar said go get that boy with ocd

- KINCHAN LEG, BEST TRANSFORMATION TBH

- ryuu saying 'sense-nai yo' lives in my head

- really incredible how genuinely groundbreaking this was, there wasnt an Actual Genre-Compliant mahou shounen anime before this, or since really.

- MANNN i miss you no 3 meters is just the soundtrack of 2015 for me

Episode 3:

- rly interesting this was the only ep where the enemy was a teacher instead of a student

- unrelated to the ep but Warera Seigi na Caerula Adamas was the best song from s1 hands down

- the binanshi contest existing rly solidified that this is a show for fujin

- ryuu: "theres 100% girls around me all the time!" (never seen with girls)(only ever seen with Io)(goes to all-boys school)

- i loved akoya's beef w ryuu mainly bc it meant i got to see akoya 😋

- ikinari komingu auto?!

- LMAO so many famous scenes in this ep!!! the fuckin bathroom scene with Io kills me still

- this was where i learned the word aniki

- back in the day they used Yumoto not being affected by kurotori's spell as a reason that he's aspec and tbh i still headcanon that for said reason alone

The sun beat down on you as you and a group of fellow Coronado Beach lifeguards ran down the sandy Coronado beach.

Your hazel eyes squinted as you realized there were four other lifeguards in front of you and the finish line wasn't far ahead. You pushed yourself into high gear since you realized you were that close.

"Five!" one of the senior lifeguards yelled as you crossed the finish line. You slowed to a jog and then to a walk as you let your heart rate slowly get back down to its resting rate.

"Nice job," a muscular blond said to you with a nod.

"You too," you reply as you continue to walk around.

"Alright! Listen up!" one of the head lifeguards' yells. "All of you over here have made it to the next phase. We meet tomorrow back at the building for more training. Holloway! Where are you?"

You raise your hand. "Right here!"

"Stay where you are. The rest of you are dismissed."

The rest of the lifeguards start walking to the Coronado Fire and Lifeguard station as the head guard walks up to you.

Behind his dark sunglasses, he looks at the clip board and then back at you. "We got your information from your high school and college in Wisconsin. Captain of the swim team in high school and college. Master Diver, Search and Rescue Diver certified and an EMT?"

"Yes, sir."

"And you're attending the University of California San Diego?"

"Yes."

"What are you majoring in?"

"I'm working on my doctorate in aquatic veterinary medicine."

His eyes got wide. "Wow!" He uses the clip board to point towards the fire and lifeguard station. "Walk with me."

The two of you begin walking towards the building.

"I'm sure some of this will be boring to you, but you'll be a great asset to the station."

"Thank you, but I'll never be bored. I enjoy learning."

"Good to hear." He stopped and so did you. He looks at you over the top of his sunglasses and smiles. "Then let me be the first to welcome you to the San Diego Lifeguards."

You smile back. "Thank you, sir.

The next day after CPR and First Aid training, you headed up to the locker room to change into your swimsuit for an evening jog on beach.

When you reached your locker, you work the combination lock and open it. You grabbed your black TYR one piece and begin to change when two female lifeguards enter the locker room and stop when they see you.

"You're Y/N Holloway?" the blonde asks.

"I am," you respond as you continue to put on your swimsuit.

"It's nice to meet you. I'm Chloe Matthews." She puts out her right hand for you to shake.

You finish putting on your suit, reach out with your right hand and shake it.

"I'm Jericho Adama," the red head says and puts out her hand. You shake that one as well.

"We've heard about you," Chloe says.

"Search and Rescue diver and working on your aquatic veterinary degree. Impressive," Jericho states.

"Thanks." You put your shoulder length, wavy brown hair up in a ponytail, close your locker and grab your sunglasses. "It was nice to meet you guys. I'm going for a jog, so I'll see you around." You walk by them and head out the locker room and down the stairs to the beach.

You put on your sunglasses, place your earbuds in your ears, set your apple watch, do a few stretches and then begin to jog down the beach.

"Not today, Hangman!" Bradley 'Rooster' Bradshaw yells as he held one of the two footballs required to play Dog Fight football.

"In your dreams, Rooster!" Jake 'Hangman' Seresin replies grinning.

"Don't let your head get too big, Hangman!" Natash 'Phoenix' Trace adds in to the conversation.

"Very funny, Phoenix!" Jake yells and throws the football, but he realizes he throws it too hard and far and it's going to hit the brunette running on the beach. "Watch out!"

You feel something hit your back and stop. You take out one of your earbuds as a dirty blond-haired guy in black board shorts Ray bans and muscular chest comes running over to you.

"Are you okay?" he asks, concern on his face.

You pick up the football and toss it to him. "I'm fine. I don't even think I'll bruise."

"Come on, Hangman!" someone yells from the group he separated from.

The guy throws the football to the group. "I'll be right there!" He turns back to you as you hear the others say: "Yeah, right."

"Hangman?" you ask as you raise an eyebrow.

"It's my call sign. I'm a naval aviator."

"A pilot."

"Yes. For the Navy."

"Oh. So, you go to Top Gun?"

A sexy grin shows up on his face. "Yes, Ma'am."

"Well, it was nice meeting you, Hangman." You start to put your earbud in when he stops you.

"Let me make it up to you."

"It's no big deal."

"The Hard Deck. Eight tonight."

You look at him. "I'll think about it," you say as you pop the ear bud in your ear and jog off.

Jake watches you as your run off and then turns around and heads back to his group.

"Did you get her number?" Rooster asks.

"No."

"What?" Rooster replies surprised.

"I didn't exactly have my phone and I didn't see one on her, but I invited her to The Hard Deck."

Rooster throws Hangman the football. "I got twenty bucks that says she doesn't show."

"Count me in," Phoenix says, her right arm resting on Rooster's shoulder.

Jake grins. "You're on."

Since there were enough votes to enable me to post old stuff, I'm gonna start! Here's the old (old as balls!!!) first ever sketches of Aurelia from 2018 (I refuse to believe that's 5 years ago), when she graduated from "scariest angriest lady charr I can make" to actually having a backstory and some connections to other characters (aka when I decided she should have had a proper warband before the personal story and I got started down the rabbit hole of making GW2 OCs).

Her horns were different back then (I initially made her with Rox's horns), while the whole "the braid was made by Adamas" thing I mentioned in this post [bottom right] was one of the first few things I ever decided for her character (Adamas wasn't supposed to happen and she had her valid reasons to keep a certain distance, but that was the one of the small things that betrayed a much deeper care for her cub than she let on).

Her warband was her whole world, and at its center there were her, her Legionnaire and mate Ardea, and her best friend Obsius [here before his design was decided]. Aurelia was the brawn to Ardea's brain, and Obsius had always been Aurelia's shadow since their early days in the fahrar, so they grew to be extremely close friends, so much so Obsius ended up becoming Adamas's sire (their idea was for him to be the sire of Ardea's cub, but many things didn't go exactly as planned). The warband's name used to be Dragon (cringe happens when you let overachieving teenagers pick a band's name), but they changed it to Wing after a certain mission brought big life changes to all of them, including Aurelia finding out about Adamas.

Somewhere in Japan there’s a cafe where you can travel into the past. However, there are rules. Lots of rules. Originally written as a play (and it reads like one), this novel has an irresistible premise that drives a beautifully character driven plot that slowly builds to an aching, moving crescendo that overcomes the flaws in its craft. I haven’t been able to stop think about it for weeks.

Writers & Lovers - Lily King

Set in a specific time (the 90s) and a very specific place (Cambridge, Mass.), King’s story captures a woman at a crossroads and in crisis - some of her own making, some not. At times I felt seen while reading this. The rest of the time I was enthralled with King’s empathetic, conversational style.

Station Eleven - Emily St. John Mandel

In the words of Bill Adama of Battlestar Galactica, "it’s not just enough to survive, one must be worthy or survival.” In a world where over 90% of the population perishes in a flu epidemic, a traveling troupe of actors goes from town to town putting on Shakespeare for the shattered remnants of civilization - refusing to let the light of art die out. There’s more to the story, of course - one that Mandel writes with grace and impressive depth; it’s a rare post-apochalytic novel that offers a glimmer of hope because people chose hope.

Moon of the Crusted Snow - Waubgeshig Rice

What would happen if the electricity suddenly went out for good? We’ve seen that story before. What we haven’t seen before is that story from a Native American perspective. A story about the clash of individualism and communalism and of resiliency and reclamation, Rice has a gift of brining a new lens to a familiar situation. I cannot wait to read the sequel when it comes to the U.S.

We Took to the Woods - Louise Dickinson Rich

A Maine classic that can be found in many a cabin, this autobiography of a sort presents a side of Maine few people outside of the state know. This chronicle of life deep in the Maine woods with her husband and infant son struck a chord with me because of my own family history. The attitudes, ethos, and worldview had me nodding as I read - hearing a world that was at once distant and achingly close whisper in my ear.

We Need to Talk About Kevin - Lionel Shriver

Simply the most disturbing book I’ve red in years. Shriver excels at creating a sense of foreboding. You see the train wreck coming and at certain points I almost screamed in frustration for someone to do something. No one in this story is an angel, which only makes things worse. Even now, as I write this, I feel the creepiness tingling in my skin.

Aftermath: The Remnant of War - Donovan Webster

Who cleans up the battlefield after the battle is over? Webster travels the world to find this out. His opening chapter where he helps dig up artillery shells from the battlefields of the First World War, a harvest of iron almost a century old that has no end in sight. It doesn’t get any easier from there and it’s as good an argument as any that the destructiveness of war cannot be contained. 

The World Without Us - Alan Weisman

How long would it take for what we’ve built to disappear if we suddenly did? If Thanos did his snap twice and we all were gone, how long would our house last? Our bridges? Our monuments? This is a very meditative book is at once depressing and oddly hopeful. I didn’t finish the book with a sense of dread but rather a sense of appreciation for what we’ve built and the knowledge that everything is reversible given time.

I found Voyager when I was in high school. I’d just had a falling out with two of my closest childhood friends, and I felt so isolated. Then a new friend, who is now like a big sister to my sibling and I, showed it to us. We had barely seen Trek—just the Chris Pine movies, a few TOS movies & episodes from when my dad was a kid (including OG Wrath of Khan), and a few eps of TNG. She picked it bc A) it was the one Trek with a girl captain, and B) we loved the 2004 Battlestar Galactica.

(If you know anything about Voyager’s production history, Janeway x Chakotay was arguably the proto-Roslin x Adama, and many of the Voyager writers [including BSG exec producer Ronald D. Moore] went on to work on Battlestar, often making it the more gritty Voyager they had wanted.)

I’ve come to love the whole SNW crew, Michael & the Discovery crew, and the sweet, sweet characters on Lower Decks.

But Voyager kind of saved my life. It made me fall in love with Trek to begin with. It was so niche, I thought its characters would never come back. So when Seven showed up in that first Picard trailer YEARS ago, I cried. And every time she’s on screen, I can’t help but smile. 🥰
