🇵🇷Me: I know already this cat character's minor villainous role from said film as I'd mentioned. This is my "What If" depiction of her; redeemed form instead of being a bad kitten who worked for an evil guinea pig antagonist. Again, didn't watched this animated film or something. This has been said 1000 times by people better than myself but like... damn it always kind of disappoints me that a large chunk of the fandom's idea of "liberating" Squirrelflight from her painful life and marriage is to just... ship her with other characters like "EVERYTHING IS FIXED NOW WITH THIS ONE SCENARIO!" rather than paving a gradual but more authentic path to her inner healing and strengthening self esteem.

Obviously there is absolutely nothing inherently wrong with shipping Squirrelflight with other characters (save for a certain few and you know who 😐) ! Like that's totally fine! But it's just... idk, kind of a disservice to her and the obvious desire from most fans to see her happy to just pack her up with someone they deem better and that alone being a "cure all." Bro put the romance aside! I want to see Squirrelflight rediscovering her love for the hobbies and habits that once brought her joy! I want to see her sharing those things with friends and family because she is proud of them! I want her vibrant and loving spirit to be nurtured and cherished by others, but above all, HERSELF!
