#alek art#zane julien#previous master of ice#ninjago#lego ninjago#2024#aka the scene i wish we got in snake jaguar ...#zane is like 30 here#im mostly thinking about dr juliens perspective on this night. we have very little to go off of but he was very weirded out#random very sick old man shows up at your door and takes an “interest” in your son. he isnt even over for an entire day. with him comes col#he was striken with winter and something about him felt off. he leaves without a word. after his arrival your son begins acting weird.#then another old man arrives. asking for your son. wonder what happened there#for anything about passing on powers or losing them its always some big event... hm#i think the previous master really did need shetler. we know he was old and died shortly after the power giving. i dont know what about#zane caught his eye. i do think its very interesting that this man of few words was so obviously fascinated that dr julien noticed.#dr julien isnt the most socially aware and in the little bit he said about the previous master... he sounded concerned#imagine weirding out the weirdest man alive#i think zane caught on too. he felt eyes on him the entire night. they ate dinner with the man.. gave him shelter... but he felt he wanted#more. sometime that day he gave zane the power of ice. which effectively changed the course of his entire life. zane and dr julien hadnt a#clue what happened. 'yesterday a man arrived' so not even within a day did he see zane and decide that he was the one#thinking about how zane acting like his self now is 'strange' and was out of the ordinary. what was he like before? how do you even pass a#power down. we see people get their powers stolen and its always a spectacle and its so exhausting and so on. how did dr julien not see#anything. there was no questions? he just noticed the previous master found his son interesting and then he left ?#goddddd im insane i wanna write a fic about zane pre series

pacing around in circles muttering to myself about daniel and louis and the years between the first interview and now...... daniel telling armand "he didn't even want me in the end" after offering to get on his knees for him instead... they didn't fuck but for decades "i really thought we did" / "do you want to now?"... daniel is old and dying in a penthouse full of impossibly young beautiful immortal beings and louis still laughingly offers something that daniel thought for years he'd gotten already. and then it turns out that not only he didn't, but something in him had assumed they did have sex and never explored that further and he's gone through this entire second interview so far under that assumption because that bridge has been crossed already. except it hadn't and when louis says "do you want to now" you can see the change in his expression like for the briefest of moments he really is considering it

And now I'm thinking about Knockout after the events of the tfp epilogue
I'm thinking about what things must be like for someone who defected after the war but before the Great Unification that happens somewhere between rid15 and RBA
General thoughts about what it must be like to rebuild a world from what we saw in the tfp epilogue into what we saw in rid15 (which was just a few years, right? They accomplished all that in just a few years.)
this is a Very Small Detail and a bit of a spoiler for rid15 S4ish but when the Cybertronian council at the time bans a fuck ton of bots from Cybertron (mostly autobots), Knockout is one of them. Meaning, there was a time period where he either was shortly off world or was kicked off of Cybertron because he was now associated with Team Prime.
That, while he was a decepticon for ALL of the war, now he might as well be an autobot.
You know... Thoughts.

Stan is so confused because like. Shermie is his brother. He knows Shermie is his older brother. Everytime someone mentions Stan's brother they're obviously talking abut Shermie. Right? So why is Shermie calling up Stanford (how does Shermie know Stanford exists? So why does his brother Shermie somehow know who Stanford is? Does he know Stanley stole this random dude's identity? Except, no, Shermie thinks Stanford is his brother, which is super weird. And Stan is so absolutely baffled about this whole thing that he finds himself agreeing to Shermie's request before he can think through "taking care of a couple of kids for an entire summer"

oh i can already tell i’m about to have some really unpopular opinions about the edge of sleep tv show
#i remember everyone loving the podcast when it came out#but as someone who was an active fan of audio dramas and podcasts for years at that point the show just. made me frustrated#i realized later after listening to left right game that qcode has this very strange and almost uncanny production behind it#where they get incredibly famous actors to play characters and then bank their marketing on that alone#and the writing is always *almost* good. like sometimes you start to think you might actually be listening to a good show#bc i mean the audio quality and special effects are all stellar#but then the writing and acting is always just a little bit too over-the-top and dramatic for it to feel natural#like the writers don’t know how to portray emotion without visuals so they just make everything Way Too Intense#and each time it feels like they just ask ‘what’s the most insane thing that can happen next?’#’oh ok he’s gonna chop dave’s dick off’#and every time you start to actually like a character they say something misogynistic or just otherwise batshit fucking insane#not to mention that time in left right game where a girl confessed her love to her best friend before LITERALLY DYING FOR HER#only for the best friend in the next scene to be like ‘erm i’m not gay 😐 awkward…’ and she’s NEVER BROUGHT UP AGAIN#qcode productions are kinda like the fast fashion of fiction podcasts i think#they churn out so many so quickly and they always feel just slightly unnatural or superficial#not to mention when i tried looking into them years ago and it’s impossible to find#literally anything about them. like their minimalist ass website was so insanely insanely vague#and yet clearly they’ve gotta have a fuck ton of money backing them to have this absurd amount of a-list talent on board#(which really i think that is all they care about)#anyways yeah some markiplier fans are gonna get pissed at me for not kissing the ground he walks on. but i was one of you. i AM one of you#and i hate that somebody out there is holding the iron lung movie over us like we’re dogs and if we wanna watch it#we gotta watch this show. which BTW they are giving no details about where to watch it#and seemingly no promotion or marketing material for a show that’s been in production for years coming out in less than 3 weeks#just weird as fuck man. and i don’t even think mark has much to do with it

#dimension 20#dimension 20 spoilers#d20 introductions#mentopolis#mentopolis spoilers#d20 mentopolis#HOT DAMN............. what a season#that was unbelievably goofy and looney toons level silly but like. what a fun ride#i feel like the kids on bikes system really opens the door for a lot of those moments from what i've seen it's so great#also having a secret narrative stat that uses the fucking d100 as the die roll was like VERY silly but also like.#it has me going a little bit insane about like ways that could be used in like other genres or things or whatever#like god damn that's a good way to represent some aspect of character that is just so impossibly strong that like......#when they tap into that they just cannot fail#which kinda sucks in terms of balancing for gameplay but like god damn‚ narratively?#and like restricting it so that stat only sort of becomes awakened or usable when that sort of deeply rooted personal growth comes into pla#this might be kind of a weird stretch but like.... the crests from the og digimon adventure?#like if they managed to tap into those aspects of themselves and their crests glow‚ that's their d100 stat‚ their crests#and all sorts of astronomically powerful shit could sort of come about from them acting within their strongest parts of themselves in turn#i don't know. maybe i'm just too digimon brained maybe i'm just a little too hooked on that digimon ttrpg show that uses kids on bikes too#but like...................................... fuck.#i don't know‚ it could be something!#anyways i really enjoyed these sort of lightly animated scenes of the real world that elias hodge got to star in as the pov#very VERY fun how they played across the dome in game too#also oh my godddddd anastasia and fawnbrooke......... bro i'm gay#was this season sillier than fantasy high? or escape from the bloodkeep? probably#like the lore and worldbuilding was unabashedly bonkers due to it all existing in the mental manifestation of the human brain#and VERY funny at that#probably the silliest d20's ever been! but i loved it#alright‚ guess that's it for this one#see y'all next season!!

but yeah i giggled and screamed and jawdropped to my heart's content i had a great time
#i SWEAR i SWEAR I SWEAR I SWEAR THIS EPISODE WAS SO FAMILIAR#let me yap a bit please#i have a very VERY faint memory of a bit of an episode from a show#i dont know what show but it was a show#and there was this researcher guy and the whole plot was that people were randomly dropping dead#(LIKE THE II EPISODE)#and the thing was was killing them could only be seen by the person about to die#(DO YOU SEE THIS???)#the people described the weird entity as like a mummy walking towards them and when 30(?) seconds had passed they instantly died#so the mummy ends up going after the researcher and in the limited time he has to live he configures all the info they have on the entity#and he realized that its like a soldier from a war long ended kept alive by machines(?????) inside of it#and the way he lives is by surrendering to it and allowing it to pass on#AND 3GS SAID SOMETHING ABOUT NEEDING TO SURRENDER THE MISSION#the little evil phone creature i feel like also kind of died while in the process of completing a mission to it kind of makes sense ???#anyways thank you for coming to my yapping session about my very faint memories#explodes#inanimate insanity#ii
