I will admit, this ask did get me thinking of what if there was a yin-yang duo with the changes, and it was Dragon and Tiger as most powerful, having 4 powers to be the highest tier.

The catch of this powerful pair is that the yin-yang duo doesn't grant the Wish, cause they represent the balance of the world and it is already in balance. They don't grant wishes cause things are as they are meant to be/they are what they are. To make changes, you need to gather the lower tier.

And for the Zodiac, having Leopard and Carp/Koi taking their slots, and having some of their left over power: Purloin (physical puppeteering a target through threaded needles) and Perfect Storm (manipulate the weather). They could even keep the kwami names of Roaar and Longg (and potentially be better fitted with them).

Also this won't change much for character analysis. If approved, Dragon and Tiger wouldn't be included as they should match with all elemental personalities, and the Zodiac would be tweaked to cover Leopard and Carp instead.

Edit: if Dragon is made to be one of the yin-yang pair, as the keeper of order/representing the ideal order, Perfection actually now works as it's symbol/concept.

Are there any hybrids in Fsyy and jttw? if so, are they known as figures or is it just their species/classification mentioned?

I heard that Sun Wukong's daughter, Yuebei Xing, could be a hybrid, because of how she was bullied by the other monkeys.

Beyond Erlang/Yang Jian, who appears in both novels, I honestly don't remember.

Yuebei xing's mother is never mentioned in Journey to the South. The other monkeys treat her badly just because she is so ugly. However, I've suggested a fanfiction idea where the mother of his children is the moon goddess. This would make Yuebei xing a monkey spirit-stellar god hybrid.
