Gossip in Tianqi spread like wildfire, and its rumor mill was unmatched by any other city in the world. Everything that could be gossiped about under the sun was talked about in the streets, and the people were always looking for new proverbial tea over their cups of tea, as it were.

And five years into the new era, the people of Tianqi really, really wanted to know if their Prince Yong'An Xiao Chuhe was, if rumor had it, married.

Jin Xuan! 💜 He’s attentive, stern, knowledgeable, powerful, and fashionable. His loyalties are ambiguous, but he cares deeply for his emperor.

And since silver counts, here’s his shifu, Zhuo Qing!

Zhuo Qing practices terrifying martial arts that can fragment the heart and dissolve the bones. He’s dramatic, he’s captivating, he’s fabulous. He is unmatched in his ability to stare at his emperor and has absolutely gorgeous hands.

Of course, I can’t forget Gao Zhan. His hair turns white at the very end of the show, and it’s fairly silver before that. Then again, the back portion is pretty grey. He may be a better nomination for the white streak poll. At any rate, he’s incredibly smart and adorable, and his dynamic with his emperor is so entertaining.

They've been deathly ill. Maybe they've died and come back from the dead. Maybe they were born like this.

Whichever it is, these characters have had their wigs tossed into a vat of bleach and there's no going back now!

Ooh! Such a fascinating thought! Interestingly, there’s already a bit of an opposition drawn between the Five Eunuchs and Dark River in the novel, insofar as Jin Xuan believes that he and Su Changhe cannot coexist—they agreed when they first met that the Imperial Court belongs to Jin Xuan and the Martial Arts World to Su Changhe. It’s definitely interesting thinking about how Jin Xian and Su Muyu might parallel each other in some ways, while their bosses hate each other yet assist the same prince.

I don't know if its just me but Eunuch Jin Xian reminds me of Su Muyu. They are similar in a way both of them can be corrupted in a place where they work at. Court politics and Assassin organization? But somehow they are not tainted and manage to be still righteous in their own way? The way Jin Xian emphatize with his fellow eunuch and want to avenge them reminds me of Su Muyu feeling bad about Su Changli's death saying the youth is not an assassin but more like a warrior so he don't deserve that death?
