i was reading the recipe suggestions on some of the cans of mackerel i have in my cupboard, and I've noticed that on all of the recipe suggestions for pasta, seafood, anything really say "try this for a low-calorie, low carb, low fat, low sugar dinner". you. need those things when it comes to be mealtime. calories are a measure of how much "energy" you can burn, not how much weight you will gain from eating the food. carbohydrates get broken down into starches, sugars, and fibers, which are all necessary for you to function.
your brain & body operate primarily off of fats, sugars, and proteins, but i've noticed that protein is the only thing we push as absolutely necessary, which just isn't true. whenever you idle and not in motion, your body has nothing to do with the extra protein you're bringing in. it will be stored as extra fat if you do not give that protein a reason to build muscle tissue instead.
your brain consumes 20% or more of the sugar you take into your body- our brains NEED glucose, you literally need sugar to think. if you feel depressed and like you're sluggish reacting to things, thinking, remembering things, and other mental processes, if you are the kind of person who refuses to eat any sugar at all due to wanting to be skinny, you are doing your brain a huge disservice:
Tumblr media
i can't stand the hatred towards dietary fats, because it's causing so many people to be outright miserable or even sick. you need fats to function. they are an excellent source of energy and are literally required for you to be able to move, think, and combat disease. they are not this icky thing that you need to avoid at all costs. fats are extremely important for brain development, as well as brain function, and even immune system function:
Tumblr media
also for many people, 2,000 calories or less per day is nowhere near enough. your brain actively consumes calories, fats and sugars while you are awake, no matter what you are doing:
Tumblr media
i sincerely refuse to believe that if JUST YOUR BRAIN ALONE consumes somewhere in the ballpark of 400-500 calories just for being awake and active that we can only survive off of 2,000 calories a day. capitalism, diet culture and fat shaming forcing us to starve ourselves of vital nutrients so we are weak and too tired to fight back against the bullshit we face every day. food is important.
food isn't just to satiate the feeling of an empty stomach. it is the ONLY way you get vital fuel in order to keep moving, living, thinking, and breathing. vitamins and minerals are NOT the only vital aspects of food. you're not meant to restrict how many nutrients you get at FUCKING MEAL TIMES. YOU NEED FUEL. PLEASE FUEL YOUR BODY AND BRAIN. A CONVENTIONALLY ATTRACTIVE BODY ISN'T WORTH SUFFERING AND LIVING YOUR WORST LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Info time: Diabetes and related issues [this is long but I highly suggest reading]
Do you ever see something and you go "that doesn't sound right, but I don't know enough about diabetes to dispute it"? Well, I can help you there. I can help you know enough about diabetes to dispute it if need be. Especially because well, there are seemingly a lot of scams going around where people claim to be diabetic [in my experience it's maybe 3 scammers that just remake] and the information is not very correct in most cases. Not to mention this type of scam pisses me off because I am in fact diabetic, and not only are people preying off of others' lack of information about the chronic condition, but it's also trivializing a serious lifelong condition that can be fatal. If you have now or have lost a loved one to diabetes complications, you are already aware of how dangerous it can be as well as how dangerous misinformation is as well.
What is diabetes? Diabetes is a chronic condition related to the endocrine system- the pancreas specifically. However, if complications get serious enough other parts of the body will be affected. In type 2 diabetes, the body's cells have become resistant to insulin, which is a hormone produced by the pancreas that allows cells to use glucose from the blood- your body's energy it needs to function. When someone is 'type 2', the food that person is eating is not able to fuel them, regardless of caloric content. Glucose is commonly called "blood sugar". It's a type of sugar that is processed and then transported via the circulatory system to your cells where it's needed. With type 1 diabetes (which used to be called "juvenile diabetes"), the pancreas does not produce any/enough insulin for some reason or another, generally because of autoimmune or other damage. [For me personally, I was diagnosed as an adult and had to have it confirmed as type 1 due to the presence of autoimmune antibodies, also apparently my pancreas hadn't quite given up at that point.] As we've seen before, insulin allows your body to use the food you are putting into it. As a double whammy, you can have type 1 with resistance, so not only is your body not producing any/enough insulin, what's there can't be used properly. [RIP Spider who has this] So to explain the effects, think about what happens when you're literally starving. Now imagine that's happening no matter how much you eat. Your body may go into starvation mode and store fat. This can be misleading, which when combined with fatphobia has people concluding that "well, you have diabetes because you're fat, duh". Heck, I have/had diabetic relatives who believed that eating too many carbs will automatically cause the condition because that's what everyone is told/assumes. Eventually, you'd starve and your body would start deteriorating as so. HOWEVER because you would have so much glucose that just sits there because it can't be used, your kidneys are going to work overtime to try and correct this- and they can't do it alone. Your liver can also suffer severe damage. That's not to mention a whole host of other complications that can occur.
So what about it? Well, obviously there are treatments. Insulin injections have existed since the 1920s. There are also medications that can help your body actually use the insulin it's being provided, be it naturally or artificially. So yes, people with diabetes are dependent on prescriptions to survive. My grandma lost a sister in childhood due to insulin treatments apparently not being available in the extremely rural area they were living in at the time. More recently, the israeli occupation has banned insulin from being distributed to Palestinians. [Insulin has also been used historically in psychiatric hospitals to force low blood sugar in psychiatric patients, but that's a whole other rabbithole about psychiatric abuse.] There are resources for the US and beyond if you or someone you know and/or love are in dire straits financially and need help with insulin or other diabetes medications/ related medical help. That's only one aspect of treatment, though. Because pain, stress, hormone changes, other medical issues, and plenty of other factors can raise your blood sugar to dangerous levels, other kinds of treatment to manage other factors may be necessary.
Now that that's out of the way, let's get to specifics. So the most common problem you're going to see mentioned is high blood sugar. We've already covered what the effects are, but what is considered high? For the most part, "high" is 200 milligrams per deciliter. My CGM (continuous glucose monitor) lists "high" as anything 181 or higher but stops giving an exact number after 350. This is why I had a good laugh that time I saw a scammer using an image of a meter reading glucose in the 120s- that's good blood sugar. If you're going to get even more specific you want your pre-breakfast blood sugar to be 80-130. So when you see an accompanying image reading in the 500s, that's extremely dangerous. That's "you're in danger of going into a coma" dangerous.
Insulin pricing? How come I'm seeing people saying they need $300? In the US, pricing cap was set to $35 somewhat recently. What this means is that per insulin pen (as far as I've experienced, the above-linked resource post should have links with better clarification) it's $35. Can't be more than that for one pen. How many doses that provides is very up in the air. It absolutely varies from person to person. I have relatives with type 2 that have to inject a dose of very long-acting insulin weekly, one has gone back and forth with daily doses on top of that. I'm type 1 and have to take one dose of long-acting nightly with injections of a short-acting insulin before every meal, with the exact dosage amounts varying per meal. Insulin is measured in units (there's probably an actual mL amount, both of mine are 100 units per mL with a 3mL pen). How many units someone needs is determined with their medical provider (or care team? When I went to 'diabetes education' after diagnosis I was set up with a "care team").
Edited:
["...pharmacies can refuse to split boxes of insulin pens depending on company/store policy. so if someone lost their insulin and needed to get a replacement because insurance wont pay for more, the pharmacy could make them get a full box of three or five pens."]
via: anon ask (thank you much!!!) So it turns out that yes, with $35 being a cap it would very much likely be for EACH pen, with 3 being $105 in this case and 5 being $175.
But at any rate, if someone is in an emergency situation in the US should be able to get an insulin pen for $35 pretty much when they get to a pharmacy [again, from edit: no, not every pharmacy]. Yes, I get that this can be difficult in some situations, but that's outside the concept of insulin prices.
If someone's blood sugar is over 500 though, they almost certainly need a hospital more than they need an insulin pen. Yes, alright, the actual real single mother on twitter who was the source of the profile images/meter images that whatever the current url for vero-og has stolen and been using for months... that was actually months ago and I'm sure she doesn't need to be told to go to the hospital right now. [That said, if you get an ask from someone and the url is a variation off of 'vero-og' that is a confirmed scammer.] And then on top of that, yes, why would you block people that can get you free or discounted insulin? If someone was offering to save your life for free or find you what you need for far less than what you were expecting to spend, why wouldn't you take it? Unless what you're actually after is money.
SO TO RECAP: Insulin does not cost $300, $350, $370, whatever someone is sending you an ask about. In the US, it is federally capped at $35 per pen, with further resources available, as well as further resources being available internationally. If you need help, please be honest about it. I promise there are people who care, you don't have to try and explain yourself- but it absolutely does not cost that much and if it did, there are ways to lower the cost by quite a bit if there aren't resources to make it free. Diabetes is a lifelong chronic condition that is not caused by "being fat" or "eating too much", it is caused by your body not functioning right and your body can starve no matter how much food you eat. Unfortunately, people have been lying on this site for months if not years claiming to have type 1 with an insulin emergency. These people cannot possibly have diabetes, or they would be well aware that they do not need hundreds of dollars to get their insulin. They are counting on you not knowing this so you will donate to them. The 'vero-og' scammer had been harassing someone who donated and threatening them with the intention of bullying more money out of the donor.

Clearing Your Gut | The IT GIRL DIARIES🎀🩷
Your gut is connected to multiple parts of your body, the main areas are your immune system, your heart and your brain but it has affects on a lot of other areas aswell, such as your skin, metabolism, hair.
I had an unhealthy gut and it was very noticeable, through my skin, weight all the way down to my emotional state.
It's very important to take care of your gut, it affects your body inwards and outwards.
Here are a few things I did to clear my gut that could help you too ✨
🎀Began eating balanced meals ( make sure your meals have a mix of healthy carbs, protein and healthy fats such as avocado or beans ect )
🎀Cut out sugar ( I have a very sweet tooth so I was consuming artificial sugar almost EVERY DAY and that affected me so much, especially my skin and it showed. Cut out artificial sugar and try replacing it with healthy glucose foods such as strawberries, watermelon, oranges, berries or make your own sweets mixed with honey, lemon and ginger, similar to cough drops. If you can't cut out sugar completely, limit your intake instead )
🎀Began drinking green juices ( i drink one everyday but a few times a week is more than enough )
🎀Added leafy greens into all of my meals including my snacks ( if you're already consuming a lot of greens then you're more than welcome to skip the green juices )
🎀Exercise ( when i say exercise, i don't mean you have to be hitting the gym everyday for 2 hours, i jump on a bike for 15-30 min and it does the job, the goal is just to move your body so that your body burns fat instead of storing it )
🎀Fixed my sleeping schedule ( i used to have really bad insomnia, your brain needs atleast 8 hours of rest to reprogram and function well for the next day )
🎀GINGER ( i include ginger into my green juices and it's a game changer, but if you're not planning on drinking green juices, try incorporating ginger elsewhere, such as ginger tea or even just eating a tiny block will do )
🎀Limit alcohol intake and quit smoking! ( this is very important, nicotine and tabbaco can have major negative affects on your health but this should be common sense )
🎀Lastly Water ( this shouldn't be something that's new, we need water, our bodies need water in order to flush out bacteria and hydrate our body but make sure you drink enough, I started drinking atleast 2-3 liters everyday. Tip: get an aesthetic everyday water bottle that's atleast 1 litre, this will hopefully encourage you to drink water )
I hope this helps some of you pretty diva's but, remember that everyone's body is different and some people might need to make more changes in their lifestyle in order to clear their gut, do you research and try making changes that cater to your needs.

Actually so sick of life lately. Nothing is working out, every time I figure out how much insulin I need to take, it changes and now I’m back to screwed up swings in blood sugar. Life isn’t really worth it when things are like that. I feel shitty. Food is a literal chore. I hate food now, it’s simply a stupid carb number.
Want to go out with friends? Guess I can’t. Because my blood sugar drops every time I think about going outside. I went swimming for 20 minutes, had a massive low blood sugar episode. Don’t even think about eating out or having fun stuff like popcorn at the movie theatre. Can’t just up and go do anything without shoving food down and praying.
Work? Don’t even think about having a good day. Try and function with the public when your sugar randomly drops and you’re shaking and brain dead. Or when you get irrationally angry when it spikes back up.
Oh but you have a device that monitors your blood sugar so you don’t have to stab your finger every few hours! Wrong. You mean the device from hell? That’s always wrong, waking me up at 3 in the morning when my sugar is fine?
Enjoy the benefits of taking insulin and either having it do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING or taking the smallest dose and having it drag you down into the pits of hell.

TW surgery, weight loss, fatphobia
My mom, who is 67 and has been obese all my life, had a gastric bypass this summer, which basically means her stomach has extremely reduced capacity to hold and digest food, so she can only eat tiny amounts at a time and has very little appetite (weight loss being the goal.) She was, in case you were wondering, in fine health aside from this -- no diabetes, no heart disease, good cholesterol levels etc.
She has been eating about 600-800 calories a day -- less than the 1200 her doctor recommends (she is TRYING to eat more; she literally feels sick trying to consume more than she is, even if she eats little bits as often as possible from dawn to dusk.) She avoids sugar (even fruit) and is counting carbs carefully -- I bought her some "low carb" tortillas which she tossed because they weren't low carb ENOUGH. She takes vitamins and gets lots of protein. She also takes a short walk each day; her bad knee prevents her from doing much more than that without a lot of pain. One of the main motives for her to get the bypass, in fact, was so that her orthopedic surgeon would agree to do surgery on her knee, which he won't do until she loses about 75 more pounds.
She lost a whopping total of 2.5 lbs last month. The month before that her weight stayed the same.
Just thinking about this when non-fat people jeer at fat people they think need to lose weight -- "just reduce your calories, it's not that hard, it's not rocket science! Just put down the bucket of ice cream already!" Watching this woman have surgery on her digestive organs to make them less functional, watching her struggle to even get 700 calories of cottage cheese and edamame and baked fish every day without becoming ill, and she is BARELY losing anything at all.
She calmly surmises she will probably have to "go back on all liquids" if she wants to keep dropping pounds. I don't really know what to say about it anymore. NONE of this seems very healthy or sustainable but she has to get her knee replacement, which she has needed for YEARS, if she wants any mobility at all that doesn't involve hobbling around with a walker and grimacing in pain for the rest of her life.

Okay, maybe I'm just a ludite and all "ooooo technology scary," but why does everything have to be "smart" now?
I'm diabetic. Have been for 21 years. My diabetes is old enough to drink legally in this country. With the exception of the first year when they had me do injections with either regular syringes or pens, I've been on an insulin pump. That's 20 years of having, basically, an external robotic pancreas. I put in my blood sugar and how many grams of carbs I'm eating, the pump does all the math for me based on settings put in by my doctor, and I get the amount of insulin I need. Do things always go 100% perfect every time? Well, no. I could be over or underestimating the amount of carbs or maybe my blood sugar was already trending down and what I ate isn't digesting fast enough. Maybe I forgot to tell the pump I was eating something (ADHD, it happens). The point is that the pump does it's job.
I'm due for an upgrade and I'm a little worried because I do NOT want a smart pump. I don't want something that needs software updates. I read somebody's post on here (don't remember who) about how their insulin pump did an update and it screwed up the machine to the point where it couldn't do anything on THANKSGIVING. A holiday where you are surrounded by carbs and there's probably not a lot of people if any working the phonelines? Yeah, no thanks. That sounds like a nightmare.
I don't want whether or not my robot pancreas functions to hinge on whether Jim the metaphorical software guy typed a 1 like he was supposed to or accidentally typed a 0 instead.
Give me the DUMBEST insulin pump you've got, please and thank you. It's worked just fine this way for the last literal 20 YEARS and I think it'll handle the next 20 just as well.
TL;DR some things should just be dumb stop trying to "improve" things by putting smart technology in them because it could make them less reliable. Also, old man yells at cloud.

Wow having arfid and reactive hypoglycemia/insulin resistance sure sucks :/ I wonder if anyone has advice on what they do to eat more consistently and have more energy.
99% of things tagged with reactive hypoglycemia on tiktok: "STOP EATING CARBS HONEY!! AS A NUTRITIONIST, WHO IS NOT A MEDICAL DOCTOR, THEYRE EVIL AND IDC THAT OUR BODIES LITERALLY RUN ON THEM. DON'T EVEN TRY EATING LOW CARB ALTERNATIVE BC SOYBEAN OIL AND SUGAR ALCOHOLS ARE ~INFLAMMATORY~"
"Omg having sugar when you're hypoglycemic is sooo unhealthy! It's not like you'll slip into a coma because you won't supply your body with the glucose it needs to function or anything 🤪🤪🤪"
"Do keto! Lose weight now! Who cares if it's not sustainable! Who cares if you'd be starving yourself! Don't you want to lose weight and still feel like garbage all the time! At least you'll die skinny, babes!"

Ok buckle up ‘cause this is gonna be an angry rant unlike most of my positivity posts and whatnot. Like. This is the opposite of what my blog usually is- “You're beautiful the way you are now. Your current body. Your face. Everything about you is precious. You're wonderful. Don't live at war with yourself.” yeah whatever aaaanyways I need to lose weight desperately and I’ve been working hard on it (I.E. hardly eating and exercising much more than usual) but seeing minimal results. I hate PCOS I hate PCOS I hate PCOS I hate PCOS I hate PCOS I hate PCOS and I WISH I DIDN’T HAVE TO TAKE A MONTHLY ANTIPSYCHOTIC INJECTION ‘cause those REALLY fuck with your weight and hormones!!! it increases ghrelin, a chemical messenger in the brain associated with appetite control and energy metabolism, which can lead to increased hunger levels and weight gain!!! it also affects neurotransmitters like serotonin, dopamine (that’s literally part of the job of an antipsychotic; to act as a partial agonist or antagonist at certain serotonin and dopamine receptors so it can balance mood and prevent psychosis), and histamine which can then lead to inappropriate hunger cues!!! but even when you don’t overeat, you can still gain weight with this shit, because most of all…
…it increases blood sugar levels!!!!! and makes insulin resistance much worse! so watch out if you have PCOS
…and yet you will NEVER fucking hear a psychiatrist mention this information to anyone who receives treatment with antipsychotics, not even if they’re obese and at risk for Type 2 diabetes OR IF THEY’RE LITERALLY DIABETIC. they won’t say a word about it!!! I’m only prediabetic, but still, if you take Abilify (like I do), they’ll tell you “oh this medication is one of the more weight-neutral antipsychotics” (actually said to me by several psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners) WHICH IT IS NOT, AND THE MEDICAL LITERATURE LITERALLY SHOWS THAT IT’S NOT. Dumbasses that need more CME’s, all of them.
………anyways.
yeah. I reeeally wanna lose weight and I’m basically starving myself most of the time to get there, and I have to continue cutting out carbs bc of the insulin resistance and blah blah blah, AND IT’S THE SLOWEST PROCESS EVER. Last time I lost 100lbs, it did not take me this fucking long. It was also 10000x easier.
but yeah, idgaf about “not being at war with myself UwU” WHEN MY WEIGHT IS LITERALLY RUINING MY HEALTH. My lab results were horrible from my last doctors visit. Half the shit was “out of range” and I have non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and abnormal kidney function, but PLEASE tell me more about how my body is fine the way it is. Lmfao. I’m in such a bad mood over this. It’s probably because I’m just hangry, but I literally can’t even eat or else I’ll gain weight because of PCOS and Abilify. I wanna scream!!!!!
And then when you’re this big people look at you like you’re lazy as hell and gorge yourself on Big Macs day in and day out WHEN I LITERALLY DON’T!!!!!
Sorry to get this upset about what was actually a very innocent and kindhearted text post someone wrote, but man, it just struck a nerve.

Hey, everyone. Remember that old saying (or ones like it) that goes “Sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me? Same is true for food.
Literally. Your digestive system doesn’t care what you call something. It’s still going to digest stuff the way it always has. It does not matter people say bread is “unhealthy” or “bad” or “unclean” or whatever we’re calling bread these days. Your body is still going to break it down into its component parts and utilise it to keep you alive. The carbs in that bread? They’re still going to break down into glucose molecules, and the great thing about molecules is that they’re the same every single time. A glucose molecule can’t change, or it’s no longer a glucose molecule. And because it’s always the same, your body is already programmed with how to absorb it. Like, your body came instructions included. It doesn’t need your help except to make sure it’s getting enough.
Fun fact: your body, by which I mean most major organs and systems, doesn’t understand human language. So whatever you think is “bad” about the food you’re eating? Your body doesn’t understand that. What it understands is how to convert what you eat into what it can use to stay alive. Is there stuff you eat that you can’t really convert? Sure. Does that make it bad or unhealthy? Hell no. You can’t convert most fibre (a carb), but no one’s out here saying fibre intake is bad for you. There are some vitamins where if you don’t ingest them with enough fat, you can’t absorb their vitamin goodness at all. And you need way more fat than you’ve been told. It’s all more complicated and and nuanced than you’ve ever been allowed to believe.
But that makes it simple: eat enough, regularly, with variety, and you pretty much can’t go wrong. Your body doesn’t care if you think Cheetos are bad for you, all it’s going to do is break it down into the glucose (and a few other things) it’s made of. Having bright orange powdered cheese on it literally cannot take away from that. Your body knows what it’s doing and it’s going to parse all that out and get everything where it needs to go.
Your body doesn’t know the difference between white sugar and whole wheat bread. Because to your body, it’s not different. A glucose molecule is a glucose molecule. And all glucose molecules provide energy to be alive and keep your body functioning.
Your body doesn’t care what you think of your food, so you might as well enjoy it and not restrict the amount or type because one thing it sure as hell knows is when you’re not getting enough. And most of us don’t.

Best Healthy Ways To Lose Weight
Tumblr media
1. Cut Carbs
Tumblr media
The issue with weight loss, according to a different perspective, is not excessive calorie consumption, but rather how the body stores fat after consuming carbs, namely the function of the hormone insulin. When you eat a meal, glucose is released into your bloodstream from the food’s carbs. Your body always burns off this glucose before it burns off fat after a meal in order to regulate blood sugar levels.
Your body releases insulin when you consume a meal that is high in carbohydrates (such as a lot of pasta, rice, bread, or French fries) to aid handle the influx of all this glucose into your blood. Insulin controls blood sugar levels as well as two other processes: it makes additional fat cells so that your body can store anything it can’t burn off and it prevents your fat cells from releasing fat for the body to burn as fuel. As a result, you put on weight and need to consume more to meet your body’s increased energy needs. Since insulin only burns carbohydrates, you start to crave them, which sets off a cycle in which you eat more carbohydrates and put on weight.
2. Eat More Vegetables
Tumblr media
Focus on including a variety of nutritional foods into your diet to support overall health and weight management rather than limiting particular foods and food groups. Produce naturally contains little fat and calories, but is nevertheless nutrient-dense and nourishing. The water and fibre it contains lend bulk to recipes. By substituting fruits and vegetables for foods with a higher caloric content, you can make delightful dishes that are lower in calories. Consider using 50/50 or cauliflower rice in place of starchy white rice. You’re on the correct track to greater health if you consider making any meal largely vegetables (at least 50% of anything you’re having).
3. Stay Active
Tumblr media
While it is possible to lose weight without exercising, combining calorie restriction with regular exercise can give you an advantage. Exercise can assist in burning off extra calories that diet alone won’t be able to reduce.
Exercise has a host of other health advantages as well, such as elevating your mood, enhancing your cardiovascular system, and lowering your blood pressure. Additionally, exercise can aid in maintaining weight loss. According to studies, those who successfully maintain their weight loss over time engage in regular physical activity.
Your activity frequency, duration, and intensity all affect how many calories you burn. Consistent aerobic activity, such as brisk walking, for at least 30 minutes most days of the week is one of the greatest strategies to shed body fat.
4. Manage Your Stress Levels
Tumblr media
As part of the body’s fight-or-flight reaction, stress causes the release of hormones like adrenaline and cortisol, which at first suppress hunger.
However, chronic stress can cause cortisol to stay in the system for a longer period of time, increasing hunger and possibly causing people to eat more.
Cortisol alerts the body that it needs to replenish its nutritional reserves with carbohydrates, which are its preferred fuel source.
After that, insulin delivers the blood’s sugar from carbohydrates to the muscles and brain. The body will retain this sugar as fat if it is not used during a person’s fight or flight response.
5. Never Skip Meals
Tumblr media
Keep in mind that our body’s first priority is maintaining life. When our bodies are denied the calories that are literally their source of life energy, they will act in order to survive. The meals that are higher in energy density are known to our bodies, and we will crave them more. Respect your hunger and don’t let your body believe it is starving. This goes against a lot of diet strategies, yet those strategies don’t really help individuals in the long run. Generally, I advise having a meal every four hours.

Should You Drink Electrolyte Drinks Instead of Water?
If you ever watch sports, you have noticed athletes sipping on brightly colored beverages before, during, and after the competition to replace the water in your body.
Many think these drinks are magic fluids to improve exercise performance, even if you’re not an athlete. However, others will tell you that this is just marketing and that you should stick with water. You can also consider buying the Best Hydration Drinks to fulfill the water in your body.
 Water vs. Sports Drinks
Because water makes up the majority of your body weight, and also it helps your body to work correctly. In addition, by losing water through urine, sweat, and feces, your body continuously losses water to inhale through your skin.
To replace these losses and promote good health and exercise for better performance, drink fluid regularly throughout the day to maintain enough fluid in your body.
Although needs can vary, the recommended daily fluid intake is proximate 2.7 liters for adult women and 3.7 ounces for men. Consider the Best Hydration Drink to have a good amount of electrolytes and water for better function of your body parts.
The Main Ingredients in Sports Drinks
Water is the main ingredient of sports drinks. Still, they contain other substances, including carbs and electrolytes, which support energy and promote muscle healing.
The crabs in this water are often in the form of sugars like glucose; thus, they may be found in other forms. However, some sports drinks have zero carbs to fulfill water requirements with zero calories.
Sports Drinks Can Benefit Athletes
The significant components of sports drinks are water, crabs, and electrolytes that help you during exercise. Moreover, sweat and water are released during sweating, and while you urinate, so it’s important to replace them.
Your body stores carbs in your muscles and liver called glycogen, which boosts your body cells during exercise.
According to various reliable sources, after having Best Hydration Powder, Your exercise performance in athletes boosts, and you won’t feel fatigued.
Short-Duration Exercise
It’s not clear that is enough for short-duration exercise and HIIT workout sessions. According to various studies, sports drinks benefit athletes in different ways.
Team Sports and Intermittent Exercise
Sports drinks are standard in team games such as soccer, basketball, and cricket. These sports include intermittent activities which alter between intensity and rest.
Moreover, drinks with crabs reduce fatigue and improve performance in sports like soccer and rugby.
Prolonged Continuous Exercise
Unlike intermittent sports exercise, a continuous exercise that performed without rest. You need the Best Electrolyte Drink for more prolonged exercise, such as running and cycling. The majority of these show improvement in performance when you consume these drinks.
Conclusion
Do immense exercise and feel low. It would be best if you considered having Natural Electrolytes to fulfill the fluid in your body.

Okay but. Star Trek AU where NJ is the captain of the USS Bulletproof, a diplomatic starship on a mission to offer peace to foreign planets.
In this world, everyone eats nutrition cubes. Brightly colored, low carb, zero sugar cubes of plant material. The amount per serving calculated exactly to the individual passenger’s caloric needs.
One day, the ship encounters a merchant ship stranded in space. Taking the alien in, they are paid for their good deed with ancient earth information. Menus salvaged from old greasy diners…
Ever the curious mind, Namjoon enlists mechanic Yoongi to help him unlock the unused meal replication function of the cube creator.
After Yoongi took some time inputting the information from the menu, Namjoon ordered the item called a “Cheeseburger”.
Ignoring Yoongi’s warnings, Namjoon takes a bite of the strange meal and instantly takes another. And another. Before he knows it, the sandwich is gone and he’s ordering another.
Yoongi can only watch as his captain becomes addicted to the fatty food in real time. Any protest that passed his lips was brushed off, and any attempt to shut off the machine was met with official orders not to.
Months pass, and not a single officer can recall what their caption looks like without a carton of fries, a milkshake or a triple cheeseburger in his grease covered hands. Soon enough, Namjoon finds himself struggling to fit into his uniform.
Not a problem though, he’d just order a new one. Problem solved, right? It was just shrunk in the wash. Or maybe it was switched with Jimin’s uniform, he thought ignoring the fact that the number of stripes on the shoulders said otherwise…
You see, in this future, no one ever gained weight. It is literally unheard of. A rumor at best. So the fact that the crews captain seemed to be growing wider around the middle, and maybe even a little bit everywhere was concerning if not medically confounding!
Medical officer Hoseok finally had enough. Ordering his captain to the Med Bay, he gives the younger man a full physical.
Baffled by the soft pudge now covering every inch of his captain, Hoseok pinched and groped at the flesh. Shaking it only to watch it wobble even after letting go.
Scratching his head, Hoseok concluded that Namjoon was free of illness, parasites, poisoning, and even alien influence… His body just seemed to be expanding at an alarming rate!
“The only thing I can think of is those new cubes you’re eating…” Hoseok trailed off, staring as his captain sucked at the odd opaque tube Namjoon called a “straw”. Apparently, a thick liquid flowed up it and into Namjoon’s mouth. An ingenious device, admittedly. He wondered if it would work with water or if it’s function was exclusive to these “milkshakes”.
“I guess?” Namjoon pulled his lips off the straw with a loud pop, prodding at his drooping belly. “I mean, I only started… growing… after I added ‘fast food’ to my diet.”
Replaced, you mean… Hoseok mentally corrected. Neither he nor the rest of the officers had seen Namjoon so much as take a taste of a nutrition cube since he started eating cheeseburgers and fries.
Satisfied that their captain was okay, Hoseok’s concern faded into curiosity. When would the growth stop? Where would the softness go? Would there be an end to it? Or would his captain keep growing and growing?
And what was it about that fast food that made Namjoon go so crazy over it?
Sending Namjoon off with a clean bill of health, on the condition that he can keep eating as long as he writes down his measurements and other effects, Hoseok makes his way to the canteen… just a taste wouldn’t hurt would it?

It was a weird feeling this morning taking my meds. I pulled three out of their containers and had an effortless thought before I put them in my mouth - “these are my antipsychotics.”
And then I pulled four more out of its bottle and effortlessly thought - “and these are my anti death pills.”
It stopped me in my tracks for a few moments.
This is really what my life has come to? Antipsychotics and meds I have to take to keep my organs functioning?
Both types of pills that I would likely die without.
Antipsychotic.
I can’t help but think of that when I take my abilify.
People tell me to look at it as a mood stabilizer, but truly, it’s an antipsychotic.
It’s literally what keeps me from going insane. And that’s a wild thought to me. That without medication I literally have the likely chance of losing my mind. Of going insane. Of becoming psychotic.
Who even is that? That person at such high risk of such scary things?
And my other pills? Keep my liver from failing. Keep my blood sugar in check. Keep my BODY functioning as it’s SUPPOSED to without the medication.
All these meds to keep me how I’m SUPPOSED to be without them.
But something in me is broken and I don’t have the luxury of being unmedicated.
And what’s wild is that some people refuse the medication or struggle to take them regularly. But my entire life depends on them. My life in my marriage, in motherhood, in my self worth, in my relationships with family. All of it depends on these medications.
So this is what it has come to.
Some days, I’m grateful for these medications. Most days anyway. But something about today, something about my effortless thoughts of “these are my antipsychotics and these are my anti death pills” caught me off guard and left me in this fog of “this is what my life has come to.”
And it will forever be like this.
And I know, in the grand scheme of Hashem’s plan for me, is that these bouts of bad news will eventually turn my life around. Get my body health in check. Get my mental health in check. It will force me to get in tune with my body and my mind. It will force me to take care of myself for the sake of life, for the sake of my kids and my marriage and my family. It will force me to create healthy habits and constantly evaluate my actions.
Even now, in the last week or two, my mind has been fighting hard to listen to my body. I’m trying to get to know her all over again. I’m paying attention to how I feel. I’m paying attention to my highs and my lows of this blood sugar game. I effortlessly stab my finger 4-6 times a day to make sure I’m in a healthy place.
I know that when my blood sugar gets to 85 I start to feel like shit - just as well as knowing that once depression hits the dishes won’t get done.
I know that yogurt makes me nauseous, and that avocado keeps my blood sugar stable. I know that I struggle with lunch and I can no longer stomach a deli sandwich. I know I’m excited for dinner by the end of the day. I’ve learned to love rice, and for some reason I can eat a piece of cake without a spike in my sugars. I guess the meds are working.
I’m getting to know her again. Her ebbs and her flows. Her struggles and wins. My healthy carbs and my not so healthy carbs.
Did you know I have to look at milk as a carb now? How shit is that? BUT I have an excuse to eat avocado and cottage cheese and multigrain toast and tuna salad. I have a reason to have a mini Twix if I’m feeling like shit.
And honestly, this isn’t too bad. Besides the nausea and the exhaustion (which I’m working on) this isn’t as hard as I anticipated. I’m not heartbroken over losing out on pizza when my husband is making amazing meals out of basic healthy ingredients. I don’t struggle to eat my veggies at dinner.
Sure I’m being forced to work towards a better life. But Hashem has blessed me with the medical care that I need and not one, but three doctors who not only listens, but literally take notes as I talk.
I guess that’s all I can ask for in this situation.
Support.
And at least He is supporting me, when my family is too caught up in their lives to even check in on mine.
AND he brought me a friend that I’ve been able to be open and share my raw honesty with. My struggles and my wins. Who guides me when I need it. Who checks in on me and who genuinely cares about how I’m doing.
So after I’ve untangled my thoughts here, I guess it isn’t too bad. I guess life isn’t too bad.

Hey people considering college-
I have some tips for you. Now, take into consideration that I am technically a college drop-out (didn't have enough money for a second semester).
- my college required Freshman to be in a campus dorm. We got to select whether we preferred someone quiet, someone loud, or someone in between. In my experience, someone loud = an extrovert who will have many people visit them, someone quiet = a person who prefers to keep their room more private, and someone in between = a person who wants their roommate to be okay with a noisy room & people over, but also wants to be able to say they need quiet time (or they aren't sure what they want, but want neither a silent room or a busy room).
- if you have to eat from the cafeteria, that's okay. They tend to have a wider selection anyway but! I would suggest memorizing the breakfast/lunch/dinner availability hours. Some schools are very strict, and will lock the doors which = a skipped meal for you.
-I would also suggest getting the app 'MyPlate Calorie Tracker'. College meals will most likely be different than what you've eaten at home and school. The MyPlate app is pretty simple, and can help you make sure you're getting the right amount of food into yourself, as opposed to too much or too little. If I remember correctly, it also keeps track of how much protein and stuff your food is supplying you.
- sugars, fats, calories, and carbs are not bad for you. Your body requires them. Your brain literally will not function if you cut out any one of those items. Remember, you don't need to avoid being fat, you need work today being healthy. Your body will sort itself out (over time dude, give it time) if you supply it with the necessary nutrients and such.
- dude, vitamins. They can be expensive, but if you have insurance, ask your doctor how much of every vitamin you should be having. They can tell you, give you a list, and they can ask your insurance if vitamins are covered. If you can't get to a doctor, try to do research. Here is one from Harvard that I think is good, but you should always cross check things. Getting all the vitamins and minerals you need is exceedingly important. They help you go to sleep, stay asleep, and wake up, help your brain and body to function and adjust, help keep you feeling healthy and happy. If you feel tired and depressed, it can be really difficult to accomplish tasks and enjoy/ appreciate being alive.
- I would not suggest starting your year by completing assignments before the start date of said assignments. For one, doing assignments as they come helps you get a feel for a natural schedule. Another reason is because it helps to be in the moment, instead of too far ahead to be able to keep track of what's going on and when. Wait until you have a hang of how and where to research, and a firm idea of how much you can hold onto mentally, so you don't fail tests. You'll also likely feel guilty later on when you begin to struggle to stay ahead as assignments get longer and more difficult.
- yo if you can get a used textbook that comes as a three ring binder instead of a hard or soft back, do it. It's cheaper, and so much easier to handle and copy. Heck, you can even take the pages out of the section you're using and put them in a folder -- boom, no more 40lb back pack. Also makes more room in any bag you use for the essentials, which I'll list next.
- here are some backpack essentials:
• earbuds, Bluetooth if possible. It's okay to have more than one type of listening device. "I prefer headphones!" You say. You can't hide over-the-ear headphones if you end up in a classroom which doesn't allow something like that. Sometimes you're just having a sucky day, sometimes you need extra stimulation to concentrate, sometimes you want to spend your time listening to a podcast that explains the current subject better than your teacher does. Sometimes you want to watch a movie casually. Earbuds also take up MUCH less space.
• an extra charging cable for every portable device you use. Roll them up, and secure each one individually with cable ties or bread bag twist ties. I say extra, as in, keep your original cords in your dorm room and Don't Take Them out. Get a secondary cable and charger for each device, and let them live in your backpack.
• 3 or 4 different colors of pen. Multiple colors, for whatever reason you want-- easily scanned notes, for different subjects, etc. These can serve a variety of purposes, and you never know when you need them.
• 3 regular pencils, and a good hand sharpener or silent mechanical sharpener. 3 in case the other two get broken lead or happen to suck. Regular pencils can be finicky.
• 2 mechanical pencils. 2 in case one of them fails, runs out of lead, or the lead breaks up.
• decoy pens and pencils! Get as cheap or expensive as you want. At some point, someone is likely to ask for one, and you don't want someone else using your favorites. You also may not get them back, or they get broken. I would suggest a couple of each, as it may happen in more than one class. You don't have to have decoys, but that way, at least you don't have to choose between either feeling guilty for not loaning out the items you like, or being uncomfortable that you did have to loan one. If you loan the decoys out, and don't get any back, and someone asks you for a utensil later that day, you have both a convenient reason you don't have an extra you're willing to share, and you already put the minimum effort towards being prepared.
• Water! You're going to get so dang dehydrated! You're going to have full days, much of the time, from trekking across campus, to class time, to meal times, to study time, to hang out time -- you need to have water with you, as opposed to having to track it down, and possibly have to pay for a bottle of water. Hydration is a main component in bodily functionality and brain processes. I would suggest a minimum of a 30-ish ounce container of any sort. A plastic water bottle you refill, a thermos, a sippy cup, a hydro flask, a camp flask, whatever works for you.
• I would say snacks. If you're eating meals throughout the day, I guess they aren't "technically" essential, but can confidently say, they are useful. Snacks can be an energy boost, a brain function boost, a hunger soother, a friend-maker, or just plain stimulation. Cut up some apple slices, maybe grab some peanut butter, or a portion of nuts, or a tangerine, crackers, pretzels, chips, the choice is yours. It helps if you can get ahold of some of those cheap reusable silicone ziplock baggies. You can wash them to be used again, and you don't have to deal with carrying plastic trash around with you.
• a pair of socks. I know that sounds weird, but it doesn't take up much space, and weird stuff happens. They get wet, or it's hot and your feet get sweaty and yucky, or food get spilled on your feet. Stuff happens.
• b12 tablets. They work with your system in a healthy way, as opposed to caffeine, and does the same trick. Just follow the directions on the bottle, and may I suggest, start with half the recommended dose. It affects different people more or less. My husband takes the recommended two, while I only need a half. We both have adhd, and are closely similar in body weight. If you need a wake up boost, don't slam your system with caffeine.
• baby wipes. You can get a small pack, and they can help clean up almost anything. Someone spill sticky tea? Got it. Fell and scraped a knee, and it has dirt all over it? Baby wipes and a little water. Need to blow your nose, and there are no tissues, or just feel like you need to rinse your face off in class? You're covered.
• chapstick is a very small item, but Lordy Lord if those classrooms aren't parched of all moisture in the air. You gone get cracked, chapped lips.
That's kinda it for now on backpack essentials. There is definitely more you could have, so supplement whatever helps you. You could add a hairbrush or comb, a hat and rain jacket for cold weather times, sunscreen during the hot times, hair ties and bobby pins, etc. It's all for you pal.
- keep in touch with your professors. Make yourself known to them. An occasional casual compliment is often helpful, and a good way to connect (you explained stuff really well today/your teaching style is helpful/I appreciated you taking time to answer my questions). They are people after all.
- if you have stuff going on, let your professors know. If your pet is sick at home and you're worried about them, give your professors a heads-up that you may seem less attentive that week, but that it isn't disinterest. If you figure out you have depression, and you're struggling to complete assignments/sleep/wake-up, tell them. Let them know you don't expect special treatment, you just wanted them to know that it isn't due to immaturity or lack of interest.
- always do studying and homework first. If you're able to accomplish these things while with friends, that's great, but if you can tell you're struggling, prioritize schoolwork. You'll have time for fun stuff later, usually later that evening.
- it's okay to drop a class. In fact, if you severely dislike a class, don't understand the coursework, or you realize you've taken on too much at once, it's better for your overall wellness and your grades if you drop it. If you have a professor suggest you drop a class in mean way, don't feel like you have to prove them wrong. This is your experience, and they can stuff it for being a rude brat. You don't need to prove yourself to them, and you cannot control their thoughts or actions.
- try to take classes that happen twice a week, which start later in the day than 8 am, at least for your first semester. There is a lot going on in college. A lot of changes to acclimate to. Take it a little easier at first, to give yourself time to work out what all is where, and how everything works.
Well, that's the end of 'dip's (college) tips' for now.

For the love of god stop saying all sugar is bad. Do you know what the bad kind of sugar is that people tell you to avoid in mass produced candies and stuff? High fructose corn syrup. Which is a version of “table sugar” — which is actually called SUCROSE — with its component ratio modified to be easily mass produced and easily flavorful for maximum profit. So you should avoid high amounts of SUCROSE and HFCS. You know what else is sugar? The fructose in fruit and honey. The lactose in milk products. The starch in potatoes. One of the goddamn base components of DNA. DNA!!! Your body literally needs glucose (and therefore carbs with glucose components) to survive, and especially your BRAIN REQUIRES GLUCOSE to function. If I catch a single one of you saying “x food has so many carbs it’s basically sugar” I am going to start bursting into tears. For the love of my fucking sanity if you read this post do me a favor and realize that “sugar” is NOT EVIL.
