I realized the characterization I had in my head and the characterization on the blog were two different things, not to mention the previous team name was awful, so I gave into my impulses and my friend enabling me and here it is! Yayyyy!!!

ANIMAL UHM.. So right, favorite anime would probably be a ferret actually (Or maybe an otter..), if we're not including bugs. If we ARE including them then butterflies :3 I love love LOVED going to those butterfly houses when I was little waaaahhh.. They were so fun.. Yeah, but generally I like most animals? So it's sort of hard to pick a favorite..

FOOD IS EASILY MACARONS. I know that's a dessert but they're actually a gift from god I think, all hail macarons.. BUT. If I don't say dessert then probably spaghetti or like.. any sort of soup.. You can never go wrong with spaghetti and when I'm not all that hungry then soup is usually my go to :D

DRINKKK Hmm.. I love carbonation like nothing else so I'd either have to say sprite or ALTERNATIVELY strawberry milkshakes because uhm! I just love strawberry flavored things actually I giggle..

Place, that's a hard one actually... The first answer that pops into my head is my room because.. It's my little sanctuary? Sure it's unclean and messy and ya ya ya, but my room is my little hideaway so.. BUT. (It seems like there's always a but to these huh.) But, if I couldn't choose my room, then like, boba shops. Song is actually a difficult one because.. There's so many?!? I look off into the distance.. Right now it's probably I/Me/Myself because it's so insanely me coded SO. And as you probably saw coming, alternatively, I really like Overtime. Yes. It's loud but I think that song encompasses what joy sounds like actually. So it's my baby..

Also warning long ... Long post so I'll make a cut at a certain part.

Okay so,

Steven and Mike, both got abandoned by their parents a little bit pre-miki era. They were already having a hard time. The parents either were both just not good influences and just straight up decided to leave or they lost custody of Steven and Mike became the new guardian for him.

Mike and Steven only have each other and their pokemon that they grew up with. Both have teams, but they both obviously are more connected with their Blastoise and Charizard. They temporarily stopped when Mike started to realize 'oh shit I have to get a job and actually raise my brother'. So during that time Mike wasn't training. Steven was tho.

Steven would mainly focus on training, Mike would help out and do some too but Mike was mainly working at one of the Pokemarts to help with bills and get food on the table.

Steven and Mike realized later on they haven't really had time to connect, so they eventually went back to Pokemon training and gathered badges.

Sooner or later Mike actually gets to the end with Steven, they fight, yada yada, and Steven wins YAYYYY he's the champion of Kanto YAYYYY.

Then Mike's like "you know it would be super cool if I could try to train with Miki bc y'know she's super strong. Maybe you can teach Dew a few things too whaddya say"

Steven says no, then Mike says "cmon pls" then they trade and yeah Miki's dead.

Obviously as everyone else probably sees it, Miki died from a short circuit when the bros traded with their Gameboys??? Or Pokedex idk. Some sort of a device where you got a linking cable y'know? And it electrocuted Miki (IDK how the damage was done to her neck, maybe something during the process focused on that and snapped it. Steven never got to see her body until later when he uses missing no but more on that later)

My brain is super fuzzy with this, so I'm sorry if this isn't accurate with the og creepypasta but,

Steven is just, at THIS point now, where he starts to be a selective mute. Shadows over the eyes, just straight up numb to everything. He is angry, yeah, he probably lashed out at Mike after it happened but the majority of his personality is shattered. Just an empty husk, doing what he can do besides being outside and trying to compete with other people because what's the point? His favorite pokemon died.

His other pokemon, he takes care of them well, feeding them and playing with them, but rarely does Steven ever feel anything anymore.

I don't see him being full of rage or anything like that until he actually goes outside after talking to Mike

"You should try to explore. I mean, walking outside for fresh air. Might help you." - mike

And Steven does. He does and it gives him time to think.

But Steven starts to realize none of the other pokemon approaches him. Just running away, immediately.

Give him time to really think, like "there isn't anyone who cares about me more than Miki" kinda??? Like yes Mike was there but not all the time.

Mike needed to go out and work, pay bills and only came by to help out occasionally but Miki was ALWAYS there for Steven when he needed comfort or someone to just listen to him ramble.

And yeah, basically he's like "I'm not going back home, not like Mike would want me to anyway"

Aaannnddd the further down he went, the more he thinks, and I think this starts a lil era where Steven kinda just lets himself stay outside for a couple months and goes missing so he can "think" more

Okay so... Now I say maybe it's been a month or two?? Stevens just uses leftover money, going around and finding places to sleep. He just doesn't feel right about coming back home yet but he did realize something

If he didn't trade at all, and if Mike didn't constantly ask about it then maybe this never should have happened. The more he thinks about this, the more he wishes he's never talked to Mike. This is where his anger boils up more. He's constantly in an echo chamber, by himself and wandering around.

Eventually this builds up to where Steven is like "oh shit I remember this one thing that I saw a while back maybe I should visit it"

Aaaaand missingno. Uhhhh yeah :3

Thanks to a friend I have a better understanding of it so basically, I can see it where Steven flies over to that area with one of the members of his pokemon team, sees missing no, and before missing no could really like, offer a deal, Stevens just like "whatever you say I'll do it as long as you can help me bring back " like DA devil y'know.

Missing no's like ":o oh wait really fr oh shit Kay. Well it's gonna cost you maybe... Gonna hurt yourself are you sure"

And Steven is obviously like "ummm gimme mine mine mine" bc he doesn't care about his body, he's stinky and covered in dirt

and his own blood btw bc I can see him having a negative Stim where he scratches his wrists and neck with his nails

Missing no is like lol okay fine and goes into the inventory...

And when I first heard this story I thought I was missing something... Combined itself with Steven??? HajdkIskx?? So my interp is weird sorry so

Missing no combined with Steven, Steven is in pain, twitching and gets all bigger and stronger. And he uses his combined power to revive Miki from her grave. And yay! She's back... But not... It's just a husk that's moving around.

She doesn't remember Steven but she's friendly with him bc oh wow a human. But Steven doesn't care, he's just happy his corpse of a Pokemon is alive :)

Oh forgot to say but the missing no combined with Steven makes him even more feral and wants to kill and destroy everything in his path so that explains why he suddenly is like imma kill Mike

Steven comes home. He's a mess. Covered in cuts and bruises, and soaked in water.

Because REMEMBER. He had to SWIM. FROM CINNABAR ISLAND. BACK TO PALLET TOWN LMFAO.

Miki kinda was rough with him at first when he revived her so he has some fresh cuts from her. She's friendly now, but that's because Steven tamed her somehow I think???

He walks in, it's dead at night, midnight. Mike's sleeping in his bed soundly. He's actually tired, and has been setting up missing posters of his brother for the last two weeks. Was worried sick, never caught a wink so he's dead asleep until the door opens.

There's Steven. The room is so dark, Mike can only see the outlines of his brother's hat, hair, and a glint of Stevens eye.

Mike's sitting up right away, ecstatic that his brother is finally home and he's at the brink of tears. Just, he doesn't care and he isn't mad, he's just happy the only family he has left is home.

But Steven isn't moving from the doorway. Why isn't he moving? He's just staring at him.

Mike's asking what's wrong, are you hurt, did you see something.

Steven just lunges forward, faster than lightning and tackles Mile down. Mike obviously is fighting back, asking what happened and why he's doing this. And finally he feels two large, sticky hands whip to his neck.

They're tightening, grilling with such force that it just feels like a machine is doing the job. What makes it worse is that now Mike can see the cuts and blood on Stevens face. He can see a little bit of the expression. It wasn't smiling. But the eyes were dead and pin pricked.

Thumbs trap the windpipe, making it harder. Oh and bonus, a knee is digging into Mike's stomach to make it harder to breathe.

As this is going on Mike is still thrashing, nails digging into Stevens already sliced up arms and reopening wounds. And eventually, Mike reached up to swipe at Stevens face.

That immediately encouraged Steven to just jerk his hands, and snap the neck.

Mike grows limp, and Steven stays there for about a minute to process everything.

Then he leans back and stares.

Yeah. Finally it happened. He did what he wanted to do. Steven doesn't cry right away. He just slips off the bed, grabs Mike's arms, and drags the body to the backyard.

He's heading to the very same woods he disappeared off to, in the bitter cold.

There's blood that trails somehow, but it's not a lot. It's all from Steven. And finally when he finds a good place, he starts digging with his bare hands, a new grave for Mike.

Idk what else to say besides ummm I think Steven just ,,, goes back home, sits on the bed and stares at the wall for hours. He doesn't comprehend everything as real until he lays down on the very same area where Mike passed away.

And I think what breaks him is noticing Mike's pokeball on the nightstand, which has dew in it.

I also think he cries bc of the pokeball bc that's when he realized how much Mike did for him and this whole time Mike was thinking about Steven

Oh even worse I think is when he walks to the woods he sees the missing posters and starts to be like ".... Ohhh”

Trainer: I hope Kafka and Reno got here soon, they'll miss the egg hatching!

Yes it was finally time, after about a month in this world one of the pokemon eggs Trainer had on them was about to hatch. Trainer couldn't have been more excited for the new pokemon about to enter the world, though they didn't know what to expect from the egg as when it was given too them, they weren't told what pokemon it was. Well it didn't matter now, as they were about to find out in a bit, and all there other pokemon have gathered for the egg hatching. Trainer also made a call to Kafka and Reno about the egg getting ready to hatch. They both had been interested in the Pokemon eggs Trainer had on them and were constantly asking if any of the eggs were close to hatching. Of course when both were gone that's when one of the eggs decided to start hatching.

Trainer: Their super close to hatching, I hope those two don't miss-

* BLAMMM*

Kafka: WE MADE IT, THE EGG HASN'T HATCHED YET RIGHT!?!?!

Reno: SIR, MY DOOR!!! I KNOW YOU'RE EXCITED BUT PLEASE I NEED THAT!!!

Trainer: Just in the nick of time guys, now come on the egg is just about to hatch.

Kafka, who was excited to see a pokemon hatch went right over, and Reno, had stopped worrying about his door went over to see the egg hatch.

* CLICKKK, CRAAACK, CRACKKKK*

With a large shattering sound, followed by a bright light, the newest pokemon to Trainer's team had emerged.

" GIBLE"

Came the cry of the new pokemon. The sight of the newest pokemon quickly made everyone excited as they looked over the little Land Shark, who looked like a ball with a gaping maw and stubby legs and arms.

The two aspiring Defense Force Troopers asked about what kind of pokemon it was, and before Trainer could answer, there Rotom dex decided to do it for them.

Rotomdex: I hot you covered, Bzzzt, getting data now. Gible, The Land Shark Pokemon and a Dragon and Ground Type, Gible like to live in hot ecosystems and are found most of the time in deserts and caves. They usually like to bite first and ask questions later, they do this forrrrr no reason as they just like to bite.

Reno: Great so we now have a tiny Land Shark that just likes to bite things running around now.

Kafka: Ahh come on Reno, don't look at it like that, I'm sure it's not as bad as it's making it out to be.

Trainer: Ya don't worry Reno, everything will be just fine.

Meanwhile in Gible's head

Gible wasting no time immediately bite down on Trainer's head.

Needless to say there was a lot of screaming for the next hour.

I bet Ai adored Gible plus doesn't really mind when the Pokemon chomps on him. Kafka is about ready to bandage Trainer's head only to notice no injuries. Also I can see them employing the stick method like with Ash's Turtwig in the anime for Gible.

Slightly off topic but I see Fidough or Greavard hatching after Kikoru learns about Trainer. Gotta save a dog for post joining the Defense Force.

Okay so I gave a general forest profile before here, so this time I'm gonna talk specifically about the tree that tagtree is most famous for - the Monty Pine!

Typically identifiable by the dark brown or greyish bark, long needles, and ovulate, waxy cone this tree is more famously known for the additions of my little bastard friends, grafaiai. Most Paldeans probably recognize these trees as the ones that have brightly painted circles on them. The tags created by grafaiai's berry and poison mixture serve to mark it's territory, but did you know they have a lot of benefits for the trees themselves?

Monty Pines are susceptible to many different parasites, fungi, and insect infections. However, the brightly coloured tags created by grafaiai attract and subsequently kill insects, protecting the tree from being eaten and providing a snack for the grafaiai and ground-dwelling shrewdle. The poison also acts to stimulate the tree's resin, causing the bark to harden and provide extra protection from fungal infections.

The extra resin in these tagged trees make them ideal firewood, which is great for campers AND the tree itself. The cones of the Monty Pine are covered in a waxy coating, and require either fire or extremely hot weather in order to burst. The Monty Pine is a type of tree that actually relies on forest fires or droughts in order to reproduce.

(That doesn't mean you should go out and set forest fires btw. Monty Pine is part of a co-dependant canopy and its neighboring trees need to be a certain age in order to survive these fires. I know when and how to encourage these types of fires safely. I do not want your fire types in my forest)

Lastly, the combination of berries, poison, and resin gives the Monty Pines in Tagtree Thicket a very distinctive scent. Very sweet, very piney. Any Paldean or tourist who has been through here will tell you it's the best smelling forest in the world. And that's all because of the teamwork between grafaiai and Monty Pine 🌳🖤💚

also I am a pokeball expert (/j) the moon ball has increased capture rate on Pokemon that evolve via moonstone (in the gen it was introduced in it was coded wrong and would only increase capture rate for Pokemon that evolved via burn heal) the luxury ball increases friendship as soon as the Pokémon’s caught the dream ball has a 4x capture rate on sleeping Pokemon and the dusk ball has a 2x in dark places or at night

the stickers are sinnoh only things and are used on ball capsules (you put a pokeball in one for contest or just to use the stickers in battle to be a little shit to your opponent) to produce special effects when the Pokemon come out of the pokeball (ex: floral sticker to have petals appear when the Pokemon comes out, a smoke cloud releases etc.) and they stack and appear based on where you put the stickers on the ball capsule (ex: put the black smoke on the bottom it appears under the Pokemon)

Outside of the Grand Hall, there's a girl out with her rebellious Stufful. This is to explain the level cap mechanic in this game- at each badge, there's a soft level cap where Pokemon become disobedient once they're over the cap.

This is because Pokemon only respect "powerful" trainers with several badges in Reborn, and out of universe, it was to keep people from just overleveling one Pokemon to beat the whole game.

I have... mixed feelings on this. On one hand, I actually think having a level cap helps with the pacing, and I like the challenge. It's tempting to try to just overpower each difficult challenge with levels, and it's fun to get a game that flips that on its head and makes you strategize.

On the other hand, a soft level cap? Where you have to stay on top of that and make sure you're under the cap constantly? At that point I'm not having fun, I'm just stressed. Thankfully E19 gives you the "hardcap" password which fixes this issue, so we don't have to worry about it here.

I won't go over each and every catch because... well, I'm catching them all. If I did that, it'd be most of the LP. So we'll focus mostly on gift Pokemon that I find notable or Pokemon that end up on my rotation team. Here's some of the Pokemon from outside of Grand Hall- Brobarel is for a trade we'll do later.

To get past the bridge, we have to fight a guy. The NPCs in Reborn are territorial.

Because I opted to go catching first and hooked them up with some EV training items, Raine is already pretty overpowered... Flamberge loves a little monster.

Note that cash reward, though. Before you ask, yes, potions and poke balls cost as much as they do in canon. I realize this is a common misconception among western audiences, but the devs do know that Pokemon money is based off of yen, not USD, right? The trainers are not shilling out $200 every battle, they're giving out pocket change. Poke balls and potions are like candy bars from the gas station (or at least they were before inflation. Yayyyy).

And this is with the "moneybags" password on, which boosts money. Usually we'd just get $40!

Maybe Reborn is in tatters because the economy is fucked.

As Ame said, all other wards are blocked off, we'll go past that cop after we get Julia's badge.

Also you can put in a PNG file for the item finder mod and I put Loop Crumb (sprite courtesy of @/eldragon-x) in there so they're joining us for this lovely journey. Adding context so people don't get jumpscared by them in every post.

Part of why I got the Itemfinder early is because you don't get the actual thing until several badges in, and there are a LOT of hidden items that become inaccessible well before then.

On the bridge, three guys (I beat the other guy) are bullying a Pachirisu, and we engage in a double battle.

Pretty good matchup for us, Raine knocks out Mudbray and Ethel knocks out Fomantis, each with a few hits. I'm training Raine to be a physical attacker, so they won't be a true monster until they get Razor Shell.

We saved Pachirisu and get to keep it! The event here is actually randomly generated- there's a 50% chance we could've gotten Zigzagoon instead. No matter what, we can catch either Pokemon in the wild later. Zigzagoon probably would've been better for the gym since it can get Mud-Slap, but Pachirisu's resistance isn't so bad either.

For our next event encounter, we have to give a homeless man $50 three times before he goes into a corner to nap, allowing us to access the back alley.

Before we continue, in case you couldn't tell, this game has a lot of thoughts on homeless people, and well... I'm sure you know where this is going. Besides this guy, we get most of our income from beating these guys in battles at this point.

But anyways, we go to the back alley, where there's a house we can go into. There are no people inside, but there is a Pokemon we can catch here, and-

Screaming. Crying. Agony. Throwing myself out the window. I am destroyed. I don't think I'll ever recover.

This event has a 50% chance to have either Minccino, which is a Pokemon I like okay enough... or Espurr. One of my favorite Pokemon of all time. A Pokemon that is very viable in this game and has the potential to become a mainstay party member throughout.

And it has one of the cutest overworld sprites I've ever seen.

And I lost out. I lost out on my little baby. For a Pokemon I'm probably going to box.

Maybe Cyrus was right. Maybe the world does deserve to be reset for a better ending...

But well. We're here now and Espurr can be caught in Lapis Ward, just before the third gym. We'll stick it out for her. We'll stick it out for my sweet little baby.

Espurr, if you're out there. Know that daddy loves you...

Anyways we can't get this Minccino yet, so on we go. Y'know. Since we have to catch it for the 100%.
