My Cat???

My cat is slowly getting smarter?? it's like, slightly scaring me.

His name is Sunshine, he's a bit older than a year old now, I'm not actually sure. I got him from a friend who found him, and his siblings, but they died.

So, like, I got Sunshine about a year ago. I literally taught him everything he needed to know, from escaping his cage when he wanted my attention, to laying on his back so I can hold him like a baby.

Well after an incident at my mom's house, Sunshine moved to my dad's house. He's been happy here, my dad likes him because he hunts the snakes, and my younger stepsister absolutely adores him.

Problem: Sunshine has been slowly getting smarter. And it slightly scares me

The other day I woke up like half awake, turned away from Sunshine who was lying in bed with me. Nothing out of the ordinary, AND THEN THIS LITTLE FUCKER USES A SINGLE PAW TO MOVE MY BLANKET BACK TO HE CAN LAY AGAINST MY SKIN AND UNDER MY BLANKET??????? I was genuinely scared as fuck because he's never done this before, and he doesn't have opposable thumbs???

But I brush it off, everything is ok. It was probably an accident; he's always been a smart cat.

Well just now I was talking to my dad about how I raised Sunshine. In a couple years I wanna take him to college with me, he's my son, of course he's gonna go to college with me. My dad wants to get a replacement kitten for my stepsister to bond with when Sunshine leaves the house because she is absolutely obsessed with Sunshine, and she will be absolutely devastated when Sunshine leaves. I don't think she really understands that Sunshine is mine, not a family cat.

Anyways, we were standing there talking. And then suddenly the urinal flushes? It was Sunshine. Sunshine enjoys sitting in the urinal, when my siblings and I are in the bathroom he'll hop in the (unused bc Sunshine sits in it) urinal to watch us. Never before has he flushed the urinal. It wasn't an accident. If it was an accident he would have been sitting in the urinal, instead, he was standing on his back legs with one paw on the urinal side and one paw on the handle, just siting there, watching the water flush.

Listen, I love my oddly human cat. He's always been smarter. He understands new things faster than other cats my family has had, and he acts oddly human, going as far as to "talk" and "respond" to us with meows. But he's never really done "human" stuff. I still love the little fluff ball, but seriously, wtf is up with him. Why is he suddenly doing human stuff?

Other thing, he knows what video games are? I don't know if he understands exactly what they are, but he understands the premise of them. If you're playing a game he likes (yes, he has preferences) he'll sit in your lap and just watch you play the game. It's gotten to the point that he has his own chair by the computer so he can sit and watch the games and take naps.

So yes I have OF COURSE read @naffeclipse new fic Apex Polarity and yes, I AM OBSESSED!

So I decided to make a little comic of how I think their "first encounter" might have looked like from Eclipse's perspective.

I can't help but think about how alien and scary we most look to him (especially if there is a history of fasco hunting polar sirens in the past). With all that gear we look like emotionless beings, just observing and uncaring of this ice world. But then when y/n shows up and probably exudes this joy and wonder for his world + shows respect for the creatures and the environment??? Mmh yeah, I can see Eclipse falling for y/n, especially considering how alone he might be...

I just realized that there is literally zero fanfics with Danny Fenton/M'gann M'orzz pairing and idk, am I the only one who see nearly endless potential in it?

I don't know how they met but they're probably pretty fast friends.

With Danny being space nerd, he would ask M'gann all the questions about Mars. At the same time, from what little I know about Miss Martian, she is "Earth nerd" and would ask him all the questions about Earth and what normal teenage life is like, because YL team is not the best study case. Like, only Wally and maybe Artemis (I don't know a thing about her other than 'snarky/blunt archer') had normal human life. He is happy to answer, introducing her to his semi normal life before accident.

They exchanged stories about stars from their respective homes.

Just imagine, Danny binge watching "Hello Megan" just to know what she is talking about and it's not his thing, really, but he learnt to enjoy it because he associated it with M'gann (we can have Jazz being fan too and feeling 'betrayed' because she tried to strongarm her brother to watch it for years and all it took was to cute alien girl to mention it and he is pulling all nighters).

Just imagine, M'gann asking one of her teammates (probably Robin) to teach her to play Doomed, so she can play with her halfa friend and his friends and not ask about every controller. They don't really mind her being newbie but sudden progress doesn't go unnoticed or unpraised.

Everlasting trio inviting her to Nasty Burger every once in a while to talk about random, not hero related things.

Rest of the YJ may not even know about Phantom. They just know about this Danny, M'gann's totally civilian friend, who likes milkshakes and video games.

They share their stories and tips about heroing and powers they have similar. Mostly M'gann shares things she learnt from her uncle or in Mountain because let's be honest, self taught is rarely better than someone with proper mentoring. She for sure helps with ghosts if they attack during her visit, even if Danny tries to shield her from it. "I'm supposed to be your civilian friend, am I not?"

She definitely does what she can to help with his hero PR. She may or may not accidentally convinced rest of the Team she has celebrity crush on underappreciated ghost hero from the middle of the nowhere. They help her, spamming all negative news reports with praises for Phantom from both hero and civilian accounts. It caused some mess, Justice League had questions but Danny was happy so it doesn't matter.

If we go with ghost being super emphatic we can have Danny overwhelmed by everyone's feelings (honest hate his parents have towards his hero persona, confliction of towns people, concern of his friends, excitement of Casper students idk, EVERYTHING) and M'gann helps him overcome it. Later both of them being there for eachother when everything was just too much. Y'know just this mutual understanding that nobody else can really give them.

Maybe some communication troubles because M'gann prefers telepathy and Danny does not like it in a slightest (Freakshow flashbacks or something) but tries to accommodate. Or M'gann doesn't even try because idk, one of telepathy rules is "don't read thoughts of dying person unless they project it to you" and she feels it goes for dead (even if only halfway) too.

They're just vibing with eachother.

Then there is ghost attack outside Amity and Team is send to deal with it. M'gann is surprisingly competent at dealing with everything ghost does while evacuating civilians while someone magic competent is called. Suddenly she stops, gets her phone and makes a call:

"Hey Danny, do you have a moment?" whole team is too shocked to react, because in the love of whatever they believe in, why is Megan calling her civilian friend in the middle of the battle with unknown entity. "It's [insert whatever ghost you want] wrecking havoc. Can you come by at take them to the zone? I don't have thermos on me right now. Thank you."

WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN?

Que Danny flying top speed to wherever she is, fights a ghost and contains them. Que someone (maybe Wally) being like:

"When did you wanted to tell us that your civilian friend is a hero?"

M'gann honest to god forgot that Team thought Danny was a civilian.

"I worked quite hard to drag her into as little of my Phantom bullshit as I could. I am proud of being a civilian friend, thank you very much"

They all came in contact together after that.

Martian Manhunter tried to give Fenton a shovel talk but boy was too excited to meet his favourite hero and to focused on not making fool of himself to be actually scared or something. He deals with Skulker on a regular basis anyway, there are very few threats that could actually scare him.

Team members also tried to shovel talk him, just in case. They all failed for one reason or another

Or maybe Danny is already YJ member. Everything above can still happen just without ghost attack. Danny can have issues with Zeta Tubes though. That's a good stuff.

There can be a drama of "I'm your friend only because I'm alien/semi normal, am I not?"

Or we can go with space obsessed Danny going full Vlad on cute alien girl. Y'know, because "that's a halfa thing to do". M'gann is not into that. I'm not really excited about this take but that's a possibility too.

okay its no secret i dont buy into marazhai being the persona he puts on. so as i've officially met him in game now, im making a list of all the in-game reasons i think he's a bit of an idiot [which i love btw. i find him far more compelling if he's a bit stupid/weird and he's trying so hard not to be but you just know nobody in commorragh is inviting him to parties]

the very first time you get a glance of him on a rooftop and. 'deal with this' "of course" proceeds to just walk off like 3 seconds after the other two

ambushes you. has you cornered. is in optimal position to kick your ass frankly, high ground and better weapons and utilising shock against you. ...he bitches at you for a while, gets insulted, then runs off into the forest with a maniacal cackle

heinrix fired a mild insult [considering what he's like to everyone else its barely an insult] and he took big enough issue with it to start saying how he'll break him and turn him into a pet. oh sure dude you're responding super well to this mild comment from the guy who accidentally insults everyone and their entire ancestral line at some point

i think it says something that he's learned to speak your language fluently too. that Has to be some kind of Yikes moment to admit publicly in drukhari culture. buried family secret great great grandfather drukhari-georg learned to speak mon keigh and now we claim he just spoke oddly because was shot in the head as a child to prevent the shame

he also knows the mon keigh lore that says youre a super special little guy as rogue trader and actually LISTENS to the fact you're the special little guy as rogue trader. and he does treat you as more equal/with more respect than the other characters. thats not just a drukhari culture yikes thats what gets you checked for a concussion or brain damage

literally socially atrocious enough its believed he's working with you [read: with you. not using you, not manipulating, cooperating. this is a big difference i feel] and only he himself doesnt believe it

ignore the fact he eventually DOES work with you which. is its own follow up statement

challenges you to fight him, to give chase then and there. i made him wait while i went through english government simulator where i queued for multiple days, did multiple day/week voidship trips back and forth, got distracted by accidentally starting jae's romance, pasqal telling me to servitorise her, getting blackout drunk with her, shipwide broadcast tm, giving her a voidship, her getting me a space cat, attacked by pirates, dealt with a plague, explored a few extra systems.......................

he destroys your palace. ...its rebuilt effectively within a week. most of the damage is in bodies which are just sent to the poor district to rot [almost feels worse than the damage done good job imperium]

the throne has claw marks. he could've blown it up or shot it or piled corpses on it but no he wanted to sit on the fancy chair and so turned into a common housecat mauling the sofa arm

how long was he just sitting there lounging on that chair? again see how long i kept him waiting. he was just sitting there trying to find a comfy position on this [for him] kinda small chair JUST so he could briefly taunt, break your window with his space motorbike, jump off the chair in a dramatic [but not gunna lie not that impressive] feat of gymnastics, then fly out. he doesnt even shoot at you as he leaves

one other thing about the 1nm8 and visty match up is that kei's been allowed to appear as a godly/deity-esque figure for too long. need this guy to experience to experience the entire spectrum of human emotion. especially the ugly parts like where is your anger huh? rise!!! Rise🔥‼️‼️

Why does Ren have 4 ears? Are they all real or is one set fake?

Hehe I’ve gotten this question a lot actually! They’re all real— I like to think hybridization isn’t always a clean balance of traits, so Ren just unfortunately ended up with two sets of ears— his Dog ears being much more receptive to sound, naturally— and sometimes when the extra intake of sound is too overwhelming, I imagine he wears earplugs in his human ears to help adjust :> it’s a bit weird, but idk! i like to make designs funky and nonconventional! I liked the idea that Ren had hearing struggles due to wonky hybridization and just kept the concept :>

Oh damn, it just hit me... I've been wondering this whole time why Aaravos had Sol Regem attack Katolis when he knew that innocent ppl were in there.

Like yes, I knew it was cause he needed the strongest kingdom to weaken him so he could die, but I thought it was odd (and painful) because he obviously wanted to help humanity and is on their side so why is he freaking repeating Elarion's destruction!? 😭

But then I understood... Aaravos knew that Viren would do anything to save humanity. He knew that the humans in Katolis would survive because there was someone there he KNEW would save them in the end. It's just like how he saved the remaining humans in Elarion.

Of course, that doesn't make what he did right, but he knew they'd be okay. And even though it's very likely he knows he's the reason for Viren's death, he never outright lies, so he meant what he said to Claudia about her father being a great man, who was willing to sacrifice anything... Truly, he knew this very well...
