Caleb’s first thought when he saw Sleepy was: "More of his experiments. Damn sadist." His second thought: "What the hell is that thing anyway?"

Unsurprisingly, Philip didn’t disappoint—it was indeed an experiment. To be precise: a chimera. Even more precise: the first successful practical result of Philip’s research in chimerology (before he moved on to attempting grimwalkers, something Caleb wouldn’t learn about for a long time).

When they explained where the little creature came from, Caleb joked, "So, am I an uncle now?"—throwing Philip into stunned silence. [ahphph]

That said, Sleepy (originally dubbed "Sleepwalker" by Philip) was too scrawny and sickly as a pup. Caleb didn’t think she’d survive the winter.

She did. Then she grew to the size of a large dog. And that became a problem.

This comic covers the period when she still lives in Philip’s basement-workshop, sleeps on a cot, and occasionally haunts the castle whenever Philip isn’t keeping an eye on her.

New beginnings

Im happy to announce from now I’ll be releasing comics of the golden heir au :D

I’m unfortunately really new to comic making and I’ve only recently just felt confident enough that I can draw what I’ve had planned for ages and start posting them without feeling embarrassed of my art and writing which is why it’s taken me so long to actually reach this part of creating the golden heir au lmao

But yeah I’m starting off for now with the aftermath of when Eda met Pip as it feels pretty fitting as a start of a new chapter

Also I’ll be releasing the rest of this chapter bit by bit as well as some miscellaneous content to do with young Pip (as well as Hunter) and then afterwards I’ll finally move onto when Luz actually joins along (like I swear Luz is still the main character, despite how much Ive heavily focused on Pip due to him being my favourite oc)

Mysterious disappearances, missing chunks of time, glitchy camera footage, faceless man-like monsters in the woods? Welcome to...

Marble Hornets has always had a special place in my heart ever since I stumbled upon it in 2019. It's a tradition for me to watch it every Halloween, and I still keep up actively with the comics and other things Troy, one of the creators, still does. The fanfics from the fandom have shaped my taste in reading and style in writing, and the art has inspired me.

So, what better use of my time than to smash it together with the most important show in my life?

Marble Owls is a Hunter and Luz focused au that follows the two trying to figure out what's happening to the people in their lives.

Two months ago, Edalyn Clawthorne went missing. One month ago, Hunter's father Caleb went missing.

Two weeks ago, Hunter went missing.

The police aren't doing anything.

Luz, having been infuriated by the cops not doing anything even before her own brother vanishes while on a walk at the local park, Rosswood Park, decides to take the matter to her own hands. As she searches for answers, thinking maybe Hunter for some reason ran away or went to look for his dad, she stumbles upon Hunter's diary and a video camera stuffed under his bed, hidden behind boxes. Deciding Hunter's safety trumps his privacy, she starts going through them.

The confusing, paranoid scribbles and weird corrupted footage of the woods only make Luz more worried and determined to get to the bottom of this. With the bits and pieces of clues she has, she sets out to follow the bread crumbs to track her brother down.

Hunter, affected by The Operator's influence, is slowly getting more and more paranoid. His dad's disappearance really messes with his head, only adding to the constant feeling of being watched that's been plaguing him for a while now.

While on a walk in Rosswood Park (totally not there trying to find Caleb), Hunter runs into a familiar face. He doesn't quite know the story behind why his father and Philip had a falling out, he was far too young when it happened. But Philip seems to sympathize with what he's been dealing with for the past month or so, so Hunter gives him a chance when he brings up having an idea what happened to Caleb.

The next thing Hunter knows is that he wakes up in a shack in the woods with no memory of how he got there, or how long it's been.

Philip and Belos were a fun thing to tackle for this. I played around with the idea of them being the same pesron/creature, but eventually settled for separating them. Belos is referred to as "The Operator".

The sickness:

The Operator's influence presents itself in a few ways; increasing paranoia being the strongest. Other effects are coughing fits that worsen the closer The Operator is, losing (sometimes significant) chunks of memory and seizures. As it progresses, the paranoia festers into aggression and violent outbursts. There is medicine to help it, but untreated it can lead to fatal incidents when interacting with other people. The Operator seems to prey on those who have struggled in their life.

Art piece for a human au I have in my brain. Perks of being an artist include doing your own art for a fic that you wrote for you. The self indulgence is crazyyyy

Insane ramblings and such under the cut

Made a small (and rushed, and overall low quality) Azura doodle for the project too.

In my head this is a very similar story to "Eliza and Her Monsters" if you know it. Except I haven't read that book in years and I can't tell what ideas are mine versus the book but I don't want to go back and read it all lmao

Anyways, the premise of this would be Luz is a recent high-school graduate and she is in her last summer before college. She's known online as TheGoodWitch, the creator of the hit series The Legend of Azura (it's not as overly flowery in this au, more like Boiling Isles weirdness, as is custom from our Luz). Seemingly overnight the fan base of this series went from big to wayyy too many people and Luz has never felt more seen but also like there is so much pressure on her.

She had always promised herself she would finish the comic before college, so she has a goal that she'll finish it by the end of the summer. But than an Incident happens (undecided what) and Luz goes to spend the summer with Eda, a close family friend and job giver outer.

So she's working in this small town of Gravesfield, and meets all these interesting characters around town and a particularly pretty Amity Blight. A rich girl with a summer home right down the road. And wow! Amity turns out to be the biggest fan ever of The Legend of Azura!

It would be a shortish fic and mostly lighthearted because I think silly goofy vibes would fit this story best. But yeah. I think I'll write it to get it out of my system. And I also want to play around with maybe it being a part of a series because I love huntlow too and want to write about them... I'll find a way mwhahaha~

Anyways. That's my (very brief explanation of my) story idea. It's rough but I'm having a lot of fun coming up with diffrent interactions, and where diffrent characters have settled jn this human realm. Very fun. Would recommend.

Post-WAD, Luz asks Hunter if they can use memory tweezers to get a baby picture of him, and Hunter very begrudgingly agrees to make her happy (he's fine with it though)

I like to think that seeing baby pictures in general would be pretty healing for Hunter. But for this AU in particular, it's just solidifying the idea that he as a werewolf was never really a monster and never truly deserved any of the treatment he received while under Belos' care. It forces him to acknowledge the idea that in order to hurt something this small and defenseless, you'd have to be incredibly heartless.

I think that it would be incredibly difficult if not impossible for Hunter to process early in this AU, but this far in post-WAD, I think it's just more proof for himself that he was just a kid; he wasn't evil, or destined to be a monster, and he didn't deserve any of the abuse he suffered for his identity.

Sudenmorsian AU Lilith!

She and Eda lived outside the town as kids. Their father worked as a carpenter in town and mother took care of the few farm animals they had, mostly sheep. They'd travel to town on Sundays for church, which Eda quickly grew to dread as she felt it was boring and that the townspeople didn't like them. Lilith was hesitant to agree.

When she was 14, Lilith found out Eda had been sneaking out to the woods at night. At 15, she accidentally caused the town to accuse Eda of being a werewolf, which resulted in her running away.

Now, Lilith lives in Gravesfield. She works as a private tutor/glorified nanny to Hunter, as well as assists Philip with keeping his library in check. She wears a scarf to hide her hair as red hair is seen as a mark of a witch, especially combined with a beak-shaped nose and freckles. (Aka I wanted her to have her black hair lol)

Lilith is respected in the community and in a powerful position for a woman, especially one with a simple background

This is an old sketch, based on a fic I read by Frog_With_A_Mushroom on AO3 (@fruity-phrog here). The concept of Vee and Luz growing up in the opposite realm they did in canon is what initially inspired me to do my AU. I still have barely written anything for it, but one of these days, I'm gonna do something with it.
