Kakuzu is sitting in the arm chair brushing Hidan’s hair, who’s sitting at his feet. in the background Zetsu is chopping herbs at the kitchen table, and Kisame, Konan and Itachi are moving around the kitchen, making dinner*

Nagato: What is going on here?

Deidara: *looks up* Hi, Leader.

Hidan: How you doing today, old man?

Nagato: I … I left everyone alone for several hours. I expected to come back and find the place in ruins. But … no fires, no floods, nothing blown up, nobody trying to tear each other apart …

Sasori: You sound a bit tired, Leader. Why don’t you come sit down? *gestures to the table* Itachi made lemonade for everyone.

Nagato: Am … am I hallucinating —?

*Tobi runs in*

Tobi: Leader! Leader!  Tobi was visitin’ the room with the tailed beasts, and Tobi was pettin’ one, and it … it got out of the cage and ran away …

Nagato: Oh, thank God …

Nagato: Good boy, Tobi. *pats his head and walks away* Someone inform me when dinner is ready, please.

Deidara: Tobi, why did you do that, hm? Didn’t we all agree, since Leader doesn’t like to talk about his birthday, that we were gonna be on our best behavior as a gift??

Tobi: Tobi knows, but if Tobi hadn’t done that, Leader would have spent all night worrying about what bad thing was gonna happen. Now Leader can relax!

Deidara: … good point, hm.

yknow i really am trying to avoid spoilers for naruto, but of course with being on naruto tumblr and interacting with stuff on here things slip through eventually - but i really think having some vague spoilers on obito made tobi's introduction like 99% better. I knew he would be coming back as a villain and would have that mask. I assumed he'd be scary and intimidating and powerful and instead. instead this little guy is here now. i think i was cackling for a good minute when i saw him. he could not be further from what i expected. i will also cry if something happens to him now. that's my little guy now i love him.

It started out because he just likes frogs, and he made a few friends out in the forest that he wanted to keep around for company

But when he realized that his lil slimy buddies have power over some of the residents who're, for some reason, scared of them or don't like them? oh it was sO on

and now he likes to sneak them in, sometimes as pets, sometimes as terrorizers to people who bug/annoy him. it's a win-win in his books
