hot take i guess but when i watch the scene with billy and agatha where she finds out for sure he’s billy maximoff and starts tearing up, i perceive it as being bc she’s still a bit (read: significantly) heartbroken that he isn’t nicky. he isn’t hers. sure, she might’ve known from the beginning to some degree that he was wanda’s, but she doesn’t know for sure. we see that every time she panics because he’s hurt. we see that in the way she refused to leave his side when he was asleep. we see that when rio herself has to shake agatha out of it, saying, “agatha… that boy isn’t yours.” like YES logically i think she knew he wasn’t nicky, that he couldn’t be but we CAN see how painfully, hopelessly desperate agatha is to think that maybe he could be. so in my mind, she sees billy maximoff standing in front of her, finally being met with indisputable proof that he could not possibly be her lost son. how could she not tear up at that?

I’m not sure if anyone’s asked you this yet, but if they didn’t, what would happen if Alex were to spot Toby? Would he recognize his son cause of the blue hair or red hat, or would Alex not know who he was? Would he pretend to not know anything, or would he come clean to Brad and Toby? There are so many possibilities and they are rotating in my mind, so please help my brain calm down

After I'm a free human once again I'm actually planning on making a few comics to play around with the idea of: if Alex and Elisa were to find that their sons know each other, how that'd happen?

I have some ideas and I'll 100% work on them to explore this so awaited and requested meeting

Pride was Theseus' fatal flaw.

He abandons Ariadne, the literal only reason he survived the labyrinth, because he feels he can do better or because he doesn't want to acknowledge that he couldn't defeat the minotaur and survive the labyrinth alone. He gets so caught up in his victory that he forgets to raise white flags so his (mortal) father knows he survived, and said father throws himself into the sea in despair and dies thinking his son is dead. Becoming King of Athens as a result of that, he becomes a tyrannical king because of his pride and because a toxic friend uses his pride to manipulate him. Where once he was brave and cared for other people, only attacking after first being attacked, after meeting Pirithous, he began doing dangerous and cruel things without thinking about the consequences of his actions. He becomes cruel and self-serving. He kidnaps a thirteen year old Helen of Sparta, intent on making her his wife (never mind the wife he already has) because she is a beautiful daughter of Zeus, the most beautiful girl on the Earth, who else would be worthy of her?, he thinks. He tries to help his friend kidnap Persephone, a goddess in her own right, so that they both can be married to daughters of Zeus, who could stand in their way? Hercules saves his ass from Hades' punishment, but even despite all of the above bullshit, the Gods still don't abandon him. Not until he murders his own son do they abandon him. He kills his son out of jealousy and out of pride. Now he's old, and his own people despise him, even the gods have abandoned him, so he decides to try and be a hero again. He fails. He's lost everything because of pride. Eventually, he is either pushed or he himself jumps (depends on the retelling) into the sea and drowns. If he was pushed, he was too proud and thought that he couldn't be tricked. If he jumped, maybe he was too proud to believe that his father had abandoned him, or maybe he realised his fatal flaw, realised the devastion that he left in his wake as a result and couldn't live with it.

Theseus represents the worst aspects of Poseidon. He's possessive, temperamental, violent, selfish, impulsive, and all-consuming. He doesn't take no for an answer. He's too proud. If Poseidon is anything, it's a prideful god. See the Odyssey, where he has a long vendetta against Odysseus for killing his son. See the Illiad where he sides the Greeks because Laomedon, the mortal King of Troy generations before Priam, Hector and Paris, promised a temporarily mortal Poseidon great reward for building the walls that would later protect Troy from the Greeks for over a decade, then when the task was done told him that setting him free is the best reward that Poseidon could hope for. Posedion took every opportunity to attack Trojan ships and even sent a blood thirsty sea serpent to terrorise the city. There's countless stories where Posedion's pride is the driving force behind them.

Pride is not all that Posedion is, but it's one of his faults.

Do you understand how significant his surrender is? Because I do and it's driving me insane. He sets it aside and he surrenders to his brother, a brother who once took his powers and made him mortal, the brother who is the very last person in the universe he would ever want to submit to. He does it to save Percy because Percy matters far more to him than his pride.

Posedion is one of the Gods who have grown the most since ancient times. He's no Saint and he will never be one, but he's calmed, he grown, he can now set his pride aside.

It's probably why Kymopoleia was banished (she deserves better from Rick because she is full of untapped potential and ngl hoo did her dirty and I can and probably will rant about it someday just not in this post), because she reminded Posedion too much of his dark side, a side he isn't indulging in as much because he's not conspiring to steal Zeus' throne, because as far as we know he doesn't have any vendetta currently ongoing (other than doing significant damage to Florida when Hera kidnaps Percy in tlh).

We do see Posedion set his pride aside for Percy in the books, in the last olympian when joins Zeus and Co in the battle, letting his own domain face destruction. Kronos doesn't expect Posedion to join Zeus & co because of his pride and he's both shocked and pissed that Posedion has done so. It wasn't part of his plan, he never considered that happening (which makes Hades showing up too so much sweeter). Percy had to ask him to do that. Seeing Posedion set his pride aside without a single word from Percy, who has closed his eyes and accepted his fate? I'M A FUCKING WRECK

i dont think i made this clear in the prev post but WHAT I WAS GETTING AT WAS i think toby specifically wants players to get attached to ralsei and make choices playing into that so that the inevitable reveal of our distinction from kris and their own opinions and feelings and everything hits even harder by sort of slapping you in the face and being like HEY BUDDY. THEY DONT WANT THIS. and also a slap in the face to ralsei too who i again would like to say is parasocial asf with us and needs to go to video game therapy :heart:

I love the addition above since this is exactly how I’ve approached interacting with cats <3 you have to understand how they perceive our body language (a kind smile is an aggressive flash of teeth to a scared cat or kitten). I make myself small, slow, and avoid eye contact to show I am not interested in them and am not going to bother them while also not being a threat. I let a cat sniff me and try to convey when I’m going to pet them by making a slow reach to them in their eye sight. With Brioche, who is my year and a half old cat who I’m trying to house train, I’ve learned to read her energy and moods and adjust my behaviors accordingly. However, there are times when she nips or does something I don’t want her to, so I channel older cat energy and bap her on the head or pinch behind her elbow (not enough to hurt her, but enough to know she crossed a boundary). I also will do a big sigh every now and then when I want Brioche to settle down at night to sleep while I lay down with my eyes closed. It’s an obvious indication to her I am relaxed and she should be too. I’ve grown up around a lot of cats my whole life, so I’ve observed how they interact with one another both as kitten to kitten, kitten to cat, and cat to cat so this approach is natural to me. 9/10 if I get bit or scratched it was my fault for misreading a cat’s body language, or ignoring what they were telling me.

A little bit more about Brioche (and to an extension some other cats in my family) is that she has learned my routine of when I do things. She knows roughly when I wake up and when to demand food (something that took 2 weeks of me ignoring or compromising with her for her to learn), she knows how to get my attention when she needs her little box cleaned or if she wants me in my room (because she wants to me in my room, but only if I’m in there too). That last one is actually amusing (and a bit annoying I’ll admit at times) because she also has learned roughly when I go to bed. She will do all the things to get my attention because she wants the lights out and for me to sleep (usually so she can sleep with me for a few hours). She also does this for naps (which I unfortunately cannot always do). But from an outside perspective, she’s being a brat and causing problems for no clear reason, but the cat I grew up with did this too, so I learned from him that this behavior means bedtime. And wouldn’t you know? The minute I go to bed, Brioche starts to calm and settle down. We have to meet these creatures at least halfway with communication because they know what they want but when they try to communicate it, we as humans don’t always understand. This is also why people might tell a young couple to get a puppy before they have a kid, because it gives you a taste of what having a baby-> toddler-> child is like

Stop giving him credit for shit he didn’t do, he is constantly being credited for other creators work, he doesn’t deserve any of that

Toby Litt wrote the comics that got adapted into a show by Steve Yockey and Beth Schwartz, those are the people who deserve credit
