When we think of Mario and Peach's chemistry in the games, any rescue scene is usually what comes to mind. But there's one bit of Mareach interaction I just had to talk about because it's honestly one of my all-time favorite moments with these two.

The introduction sequence of Luigi's Mansion 3.

We see our characters on a bus ride, and the two of them are sitting side by side. Peach appears to be laughing at something Mario said, and they're both having a great time. All goes smoothly until Toad swerves to the right, causing the passengers to lose their balance and bump into each other.

It takes them a second to steady themselves, and the first thing Mario does as he opens his eyes again is glance at Peach with a smile. But it's not his trademark grin. His expression is quite softer than usual, and meeker too.

Even rarer still: he then lets out a timid chuckle. Something I've personally never seen him do in any other game. He's being shy, bless him. Not openly flustered or delighted, but actually shy.

And what does Peach do? She returns his smile with a bright and gleeful "Yahoo!". An all too characteristic exclamation that she has undoubtedly borrowed from him over time.

It's a very small and brief moment. But OMG does it say a lot about their dynamic.

It captures everything that I find so very charming and endearing about their unspoken affection, and it's a very good example of how I imagine those calm and blissful moments between them to be like. The moments we never see as players, but which are surely there as well.

I wish there was one instance where we got to fully see what a pleasant and peaceful day was like for them. But if this is the closest thing we're ever going to get, then I'm okay with that.

Because this scene alone is downright adorable and it makes me very happy. 😊💞

Remember that funny video where the dog is staring at the cupcakes but the owner is telling them “away, away”, I imagine that being both Grim and any version of Yuu with Trey in the kitchen and Cater with recording the whole thing

Omg, I remember that episode of “It’s Me or the Dog!” 😂 Victoria is a dog trainer in the show, and she was helping that family stop the family dog who was obsessed with human food and training him to resist the temptation of unattended food on the counter. 🤣

Now, aside from Kaiju!Trey (as they’re not exactly in a good environment or have the same process to make certain ingredients to attempt baking), I can definitely see Monster!Trey and Deity!Trey being used to the swarm of hungry dorm members drooling at the chance to get a bite of baked deliciousness. The moment Grim and Yuu (any of them) come into the picture though, he thinks it’s quite adorable how the two are almost always there, eagerly awaiting the “Go ahead” for them to dig into the tray. 

Oh, there’s a specific pastry that Yuu really misses from home and hasn’t been able to find in Twisted Wonderland? Just describe it to him and he’ll find the closest recipe possible and make sure it tastes the same. Nothing brings about feelings of warmth and comfort than a little taste of home, right? (The first time he does this for Yuu, I can see them crying like Chihiro from Spirited Away did when she was eating the rice ball with Haku nearby ;;v;; )

Meanwhile, Cater’s having a blast recording the reactions and posting to Magicam! Yuu and Grim sitting at the counter eagerly waiting for the treats to come out, resisting the urge to swipe the closest one, then happily humming while eating? Captured on camera~! Mini!Yuu and Grim sitting side-by-side watching the goodies bake in the Monster!AU? Or a video of the tiny toddler asking, “When are the yummies going to be ready?” while staring up at big brother Trey? Both got so many likes and reblogs that it momentarily caused Magicam to crash! 😂

Or how about teen/adult!Yuu (or even mini!Yuu…I just love wholesome cuteness regardless of the AU, darnit!!!) and Grim watching the stone-brick ovens churn out treat after treat as the God of Summer whips up more dough and batter faster than the eye can blink in the Deity!AU, Cater’s always there to capture the moment. He swears it’s like watching two adorable puppies waiting impatiently for their food, while Trey enjoys having the chance to spoil someone other than the members of his pantheon with baked goods! (And of course, he and Monster!AU Trey are more notorious than canon Trey when it comes to teeth hygiene for various reason. Can’t let those chompers get worn down by too much sugar and lack of care!)

Whichever AU they’re in (well, except the Kaiju!AU like I said, since I’m not even sure how they’d go about baking even if our intrepid little human figured out how to do it), Trey is always going to be the one who can whip up anything Yuu can imagine to help them feel at home. It’s not much, but if he can somehow bring a little taste of home to a lonely human/mortal, then that’s all that really matters to him in the end.

Care Bears: The Mystery of the Missing Dreams (1986) Book Scans

I found this book at a thrift store, which was a nice surprise because I haven’t had much luck finding picture books older than the late 90s/early 2000s (at the thrift stores near me, anyways).

It seems this book originally would have come with a cassette tape so you could read along with the recording.

I had to edit the front cover a bit because two names were written on it in permanent marker. One name was on the grey cloud and the other name was written above the Dream Thief.

Truthfully, one of my favorite parts of the book is in the front inside cover.

It's so old school. Do children's books still have an index of info for you to fill out in case you lose it?

It reminds me of being in grade school and having to fill out the front of your textbooks with your name, class number, and year. Do they still do that in school? I don't have children, and am not close to anyone who has children, so I have no idea what the textbook loaning procedure is like nowadays.

Do children even have textbooks anymore in grade school? They must…but I have no idea how digital classrooms have gotten in recent years.

Okay, I'm getting too off topic! Anyways.

The basic story of this book is that the Care Bears’ dreams suddenly go missing. With the help from the stars (the Care Bear Buddies), they find the dreams locked behind a door after having been stolen by the Dream Thief. The Care Bears befriend the Dream Thief and he unlocks the door, giving them their dreams back. The Dream Thief then becomes the Dream Detective, an assistant to the Care Bears. He now helps locate and return missing dreams, using his powers for good instead of evil.

It’s a cute little picture book. The story isn't anything intricate, I think the "conflict" happens for all of one page. And even then, it's just an "Aw darnit, you're right. Being evil is bad, so I'll be good now!"

It is a children's book though, I can't think too critically about its short, simple story.

The real draw of this book (for me) is the artwork. Here are a few pages that are just a pleasure to my eyes. The Care Bears are so cute!! I love their chubby cheeks, heart-shaped noses, and fluffy little tails.

Filled out this OTP questionnaire for Tiara B & Jewel the Beetle because if I'm going to think up a cute crackship of a pairing that can't ever be real, the least I can do is make content for it

(also this is based on my AU for Tiara that I posted a couple days ago)

1. Who most initiates PDA?

Tiara, not necessarily on purpose, she’s just more comfortable with physical contact

2. Any sleep habits either had to get used to?

Jewel has a strict 10pm - 6am sleep schedule (maybe even 11pm if she’s feeling daring) while Tiara will stay out late and sleep in until the afternoon regularly. They’re both willing to make adjustments if they want to have breakfast together or something

3. Hot and Steamy or Soft and Tender?

Deep Fried, double sauced…wait we’re talking about chicken wings right?

4. How did they first meet?

Tiara heard through the rumor mill that THE restoration leader was not only efficient at recovering displaced people from the Metal Virus and is also an expert on gems so she made a mad dash to meet her to see if there were any possible leads she could get to finding her father. -She was a little disappointed that Jewel was much more petite and anxious than she was imagining but after getting to know her better she realized Jewel was just the person she needed to help her

Though Tiara doesn’t remember, Jewel actually saw Tiara first at some of her hangout places like the sports bar and the gym she secretly practices yoga at and thought Tiara was pretty. So when Tiara storms into her office demanding to see her Jewel’s thinking she must’ve died or is hallucinating. 

5. What is their love language?

Since Tiara can’t stay in a place too long, when she’s in town with Jewel she’ll spend as much time as she can with her. Even if it’s just restoration work or watching Jewel polish her gem collection.

Jewel’s softspoken but knows Tiara doesn’t like quiet, so she does her best to keep a conversation going or give Tiara the reaffirmation she might need 

6. When did they realize they loved each other? 

Tiara’s gem powers are tied to her emotions, she realized it was especially effective at breaking robots when she was protecting Jewel from a stray badnik. She had to stop and think about what the connection was and once she got it, she got it.

Jewel always was attracted to Tiara’s outgoing and friendly nature, she was at first kind of treating her the same way she does Tangle “oh I know this feeling. She’s just a friend. I just like her as a friend” but after catching Tiara’s mask slipping and realizing she’s a lot different than what she thought she started wanting to get to know the real Tiara more and then realized it was love after all darnit. 

7. Who is more sentimental?

Tiara, she’s stubborn about it, but everyone she’s made a connection with on her journey is so important to her, she’s learned to not take those relationships for granted.  

9. How are their personalities different?

Tiara is more likely to jump into a situation without thinking while Jewel is more likely to think it out first 

Jewel is more open to talking things out and getting to know people while Tiara is more likely to stay closed off

Tiara

Jewel's clothes are unfortunately too small for Tiara, but she has tried on one of her suit blazers to feel fancy when she wasn’t looking.

A little of both? Like they like going out and doing things together, but they’d prefer if it was in an intimate setting like a restaurant 

15. Who is more likely to make an impulsive decision and who is the voice of reason? 

Tiara impulsive, Jewel voice of reason. 9 times out of 10

16. Who stays up way too late and who tries to drag them to bed?

Jewel sticks to her sleep schedule, if Tiara wants to join her on time that’s up to her. No dragging required.

Tiara’s started getting into sending postcards to Jewel on her travels when she’s at a new town (...do they have cell phones in Sonic’s world?)

Jewel’s been starting to get antsy about being tied to the restoration or her museum but tries to stay positive. She’s been paying more attention to local sports teams so she can catch Tiara up on what’s been happening while she’s away.

20. Who holds a grudge the longest?

Both are prone to holding grudges, but maybe Jewel? She will say that all is forgiven but a bug never forgets.

21. Which of the two is quick to speak and which one is quick to listen?

Tiara isn’t shy so if something’s on her mind she’ll just say it. Jewel’s a great listener

22. Who gets more easily embarrassed?

Jewel

Tiara. Girl will make a game out of putting laundry away.

If Tiara starts feeling lonely or sad about things Jewel will be open to talking if she wants or going anywhere Tiara wants to for the day

Wherever Gazebo is right now I think he would like Jewel, sure.

Tangle likes Tiara a lot, Whisper tolerates Tiara,  Lanolin and Tiara do not get along. (Jewel doesn’t have a family so I guess the diamond cutters count lol)

30. What is their favorite place to kiss the other? (Cheek, hand, closed eyelid, neck, nose, etc.) 

Tiara treats Jewel very gently so on the cheek or the hand. 

Jewel found a sensitive spot behind Tiara’s ear, so there.

31. What’s the relationship like? Smooth? Rocky?

Smooth like mild wing sauce with ranch

32. How do they resolve their arguments?

Talking it out. Before they got serious Tiara was prone to just cutting off the conversation “It’s fine, it’s ok if this doesn’t work out. I’ll do this on my own anyway” kind of thinking. But now that they’re more of an item Tiara’s doing her best to not do that anymore.

33. Who has the most nightmares and how do they deal with them?

Tiara. And hugs.

34. Do they give each other nicknames?

Jewel is too self conscious (if this were a romance anime she’d be the type who thinks calling each other by first names or without honorifics is a huge step) and Tiara wants to be respectful so she doesn’t have anything in particular or say them in public but if they’re alone she’ll let “My Jewel” slip. 

35. What movies do they enjoy watching most? 

Historical dramas. Tiara wasn’t into it at first but then once she realized the drama actually got juicy and interesting she’s addicted. The more historically accurate the movie is the better for Jewel.

36. How’d they meet each other’s families?

Tiara started hanging out at the restoration HQ so her meeting Jewel’s friends was inevitable. 

37. What do they like the least about each other?

Both are prone to being a little jealous, so when that side of them comes out. 

38. What was their most memorable date?

Romantic getaway to do cave spelunking in the Mobian Alps. The quartz there are amazing

39. What other couple would your otp get along with the best?

Minako x Rei (Sailor Moon) maybe?

I think it’s mostly mutual. But Jewel being around can instantly perk up Tiara’s mood.

Huh! I did not know that about DSMP! I assume this is why there are so many versions of each character?

Look, if you have pasta and cookies, you have everything that's needed for a platonic marriage arrangement thing to succeed, right? Symbiotic relationships involving food are the most important thing when you're flatmates!

Ahsoka would be lots of fun to drink tea with and man, the stories she could tell would be fantastic!

Oh dear...I don't think Miguel would be much fun to party with, it's true...I think he's either the kind of guy who bails five minutes into a party, or the kind who stands in the corner glaring at everyone and being savagely sarcastic. If you find snark entertaining it might be funny to watch the latter!

Yanno, Hera could probably use a friendly kiss on the cheek or something. She spends a lot of time being the Stressed Mom Friend and some affection would be good for her.

I know very little about Ghostbur but the dude sounds like he deserves a peach milkshake and a nice calm nature walk with someone friendly!

Hee. Miles is definitely the kind of character I can see getting shoved down the stairs out of pure cute aggression. He probably wouldn't even mind!

Hera probably deserves to slap everyone on the Ghost at least once and I fully support your right to slap Kanan as her proxy.

Peter B would absolutely have the WEIRDEST dreams that probably involve...I dunno, animate pizza slices chasing him through alternate dimensions or something. You'd definitely get your full entertainment value out of that! And yes, he'd absolutely be terrified if a random person just showed up in his dream because it's way too normal and that never happens to him.

I love how we all have that one character that just NEEDS A NAP DARNIT.

Ezra definitely deserves to be robbed playfully. Someone else can be the troublemaker for one episode and he can learn how it feels to be the responsible one. ;-)

Oh I feel like he’s the type of guy to fall asleep in super uncomfortable positions, so he’d likely be curled up at the other end of the couch with his glasses still on and his coat still on and probably food on his hands. I could try and give him a pillow/blanket but I think he’d still wake up feeling sore lol

so shoto has strict diet right? Because of his father, because I imagine he can't have a sweets or junk food , so shoto opens up to midorya about it, and midorya is like oh my god my sweet peppermint baby (midoriya spoil boyfriend intensifies) so after school is over. midorya made a plan to spoil him with so much food, midorya saying "Todoroki-kun as your boyfriend I will not allow you to starve and let you not go to waste!" And shoto laughs but he agrees (like hori let shoto eat junk food dangit😤) so midorya and shoto gose over to midorya house and midorya feeds him and shoto smiles while midorya spoils him rotten with food , after few min later shoto is happy and satisfy and is in a food coma and midorya is in awe and is very happy about the result (midorya is like my future hubby is so cute I can't wait to spoil him more but he doesn't say that out loud thankfully) so midoriya snuggles laying on shoto and shoto saying "hmm you didn't have to do that midorya". But you can tell he actually enjoyed being spoiled and he's not good at hiding it and Midorya says " hehe oh hush you you did enjoy it I see that smile on your face" and for once shoto agrees and then The peppermint boy kisses him on the lips saying "yeah I did.....thank you midorya I love you and then shoto falls asleep and then midoriya following suit to fall asleep and then midorya says before he goes out like a light 'hahah love you too....Todoroki-kun" and they both snuggle happily and satisfied together

Cute HC! Growing up, Virgil would always try to "catch" Santa or the Easter bunny, etc. Remus and Janus would help him plan traps and bait for these festive intruders. He still this as an adult, and now gets input from all the sides and Tomas. He has no idea what he's gonna do after catching them tho

It all started when Thomas was in school and St. Patrick's day came around and they helped them leprechaun traps like you do and at first none of them believed it but then they came in from lunch recess and found the whole room a mess! Virgil decided then and there that it was possible to catch the magic creatures you just had to make a better trap so each year they'd get more intricate and each year the others helped.

Logan insisted that magic creatures couldn't possibly be trapped or the adults would have caught them a long time ago. Roman agrees. No magic bunny or tooth faerie could be caught by adults, they're too amazing.

But Virgil is SURE this time the trap will work, this time FOR SURE. He and Remus always get super into it and so does Janus who insists if you leave the Reeses pieces out like in ET then surely the magic creature will follow.

They try to stay up all night waiting for Santa and in the end all they do is fall asleep and see boot prints on the floor and they're like darnit! SO CLOSE!

❤ He just be saying shit sometimes. There is a certain trait of his that you had to learn about through experience. He won't realize that something he said is offensive until he sees your reaction. Words slip from his mouth all the time, and sometimes he can catch them before he finishes his sentence (as in, he's offended you with it before, and he's learning his lesson).

❤ When he finally says something that really irritates you, the first thing you do is squint at him. Is he going to take it back? Is he going to apologize after he realizes his audacity?

❤ But no, he just continues.

❤ I don't think he'll notice the silent treatment until like a the next day ngl.

❤ He'll be like "oh they must not be in a good mood," and then google what to do and it'll be like give them space and he's like okay!!!

❤ And then it doesn't get better and he's like wait I think they mad at me...

❤ He will like be awkwardly scratching the back of his neck trying to figure out if he should approach you or not. Like literally, that's what he's doing, and you can see him in the corner of your eye.

❤ He mostly focuses on brainstorming. If words cause the problem then maybe words will help solve it?

❤ The thought of making you more upset is what lingers in his mind so that's what prevents him from apologizing immediately. Give them space, give them space, give them space. That's all that's in his head.

❤ When he finally does apologize he does so by walking up to you, trying to make it look like everything is perfectly fine. He tries to look confident but it doesn't work. You can see sympathy written all over his face (at least!).

❤ He stumbles over his words a little, which you think is cute. You honestly get a bit prideful seeing how much he cares about you, he obviously feels very bad.

❤ "It's okay," you say. "It's perfectly fine. Thank you for apologizing."

❤ When your hand cups his cheek, he absolutely melts. He missed your touch so much.

Before you start dating, he does not like physical contact; he didn’t get much love from either of his parents, so he’s just not used to it

(Plus, he has some self-esteem issues and doesn’t want other people, especially someone he might be crushing on, to think he’s gross)

(But the joke’s on him because he is a literal teddy bear and that chub he hates is PERFECT cuddling material)

But when you start dating, especially if it’s a chilly night, ofc you’re going to want to snuggle

You will definitely have to initiate cuddling the first time, and he’ll probably stiffen up because he’s uncomfortable

So you might want to keep it brief

(Even though he’s so perfect and warm oh my stars)

Eventually, he’ll get more relaxed about it, but it’ll take some time

The first time he initiates it, you’re chilling on the couch together watching a Tunnelers game and he just kind of puts his arm on the back of the couch

And you’re like oh my stars is this finally happening

So you scooch over a little closer and when he doesn’t seem upset, you immediately crawl halfway into his lap as you nuzzle his chest

And you want to start crying when he moves that arm from the back of the couch to hold you closer and you peek up and see that he’s blushing just the tiniest bit and dear god no one has a right to smile so cutely

And after that, I sure hope you don’t mind snuggling, because he can’t get enough
