they were going to get married. we were going to see them struggle with the inn, and grow together, and overcome new obstacles. we were going to see how the crew’s journey came to a close, where the revenge ended up, what happened with their plans for prince ricky. we were going to see them fight for each other one last time. we got a happy ending in case this very thing happened, but we didn’t get THE happy ending - the one david jenkins has had in mind the whole time. ed and stede weren’t finished, the crew weren’t finished, their stories hadn’t truly concluded and i am so sad.

Not a headcanon, but a concept:

Kipps with OCD? Like, his pedantic nature? It's not how he wants to be— it's what his brain is forcing him to be. That high death toll? Both a product of and a catalyst for obsessions/compulsions. He is terrified of causing harm to his agents. And because of that, he keeps hurting them.

Bonus points for the Catholic Kipps headcanon, because you best believe mans would be so scrupulous about everything that he distances himself from the Church entirely, because he feels so unworthy (and then slowly comes back as he starts to realize maybe he isn't the monster he previously believed himself to be.)

i understand that tma is a podcast and no canon description or ethnicity has been given to literally anyone except a select few (select few being jude perry, adellard dekker, oliver banks, annabelle cane etc etc) whatsoever, but people who are particularly vocal about their dislike towards how jon has a very decided fanon interpretation and their dislike towards that jon interpretation, idk, they are very weird to me. you can headcanon jon or any character that does not have a canon race, anything you would like. you can headcanon jon as a blond white dude, you can do whatever you want! even though people will look at an art or interpretation of jon that isn't the fanon accepted south asian-british man with long-ish dark hair with graying streaks and they might say, "oh! i didn't even recognize him", it will be celebrated.

but it's very weird to see people genuinely being mad about it. the fanon interpretation of jon, of course, is that he is south asian-british, and people being mad about that just leaves a bad taste in mouth. we desi folks barely get any positive representation AT ALL, and it's very frustrating considering that we are literally everywhere. 1 in 5 people living in london are of south asian heritage and even with that number, we had no canon south asian character until sam came along. and i have seen people treat this headcanon with such nuance, they do their research and many try to incorporate different elements into his design as well. people complaining about it, insisting how they see jon as a white guy tm, it's just in poor taste. especially considering the fact that people who are vocal about it, their only alternative for jon is thinking of him as a white guy. i have seen several poc headcanons for jon that aren't just making him desi, i have seen a persian jon that i think about all of the time, i have seen a latino jon.

TMA has caused me to start judging my outfits by which member of the archives crew would wear them.

Solid button up? Jon. Patterned button up (especially my giraffe shirt)? Tim. Really comfy sweater? Martin. Any sort of long skirt or dress? Sasha.

Sleeveless shirt or tight tank-top? Daisy. Loose pants and strong lipstick? Basira. All black with lots of jewelery? Gerry. Kaleidoscope? Michael.

headcanon 3 (quill)

here’s the deal

I genuinely cannot think of MCU Peter Quill without being like “this man is the most innocent Terran (at least from the US but - possibly everywhere?) left in the galaxy”

like he doesn’t know about social media, the trump presidency, student loans, school shootings, anti-vaxxers, anti-maskers, american imperialism, medical debt, or incels

if you told MCU Peter Quill “oh yeah nazis are back” he’d be like “ah yes, terrans must've cracked the code on time travel since i've been gone”

he thinks "the climate crisis" refers to the amount of ozone-depleting substances in the atmosphere and he's like "didn't we fix that in '86?"

he thinks that if he’d stayed on earth he’d have a house in the burbs with a white picket fence and you have to be like “no bby I’m so sorry the housing market tho”

of course he's seen some shit, he gets depressed from time to time, has experienced tragedy and loss, etc (not me writing an essay about how that report card in his backpack damns every teacher he had in the year his mother was dying and has become a cornerstone of how he views himself) but like ultimately, he is still SO hopeful, SO optimistic. he would be incapable of understanding y/n's constant repetition of "my retirement plan is walking into the ocean"

Yeah, I've heard of some universes that do that. In my universe, pokemon can crossbreed with each other and will come out the species of the mom with traits of the dad. I hear it's different in some universes, where some pokemon will just come out a carbon-copy of the mother, and some will come out as hybrids, and some will come out very unwell. It's interesting, but I hope the hybrids in your world are doing okay

My most recent adventure, “A Letter From Hogwarts”, where I got to help Professor McGonagall prepare acceptance letters for future aspiring witches and wizards and rediscover the memory of my first magical moment, which progressed from spending time with my friends, to discovering a fairytale book in Jacob’s room, and even paying a visit to Flourish & Blotts in Diagon Alley, before finally witnessing the marvel of the messenger owls leaving Hogwarts to deliver the Acceptance Letters. In the end, I received a replica of the Book of Admittance and the Quill of Acceptance…let’s just say that I “accept” the honour 😉 (bad pun intended)
