Do you think Jack & Rose met the rapping dog on the Titanic?
Why didn’t the giant octopus that saved everybody else who didn’t make it to the lifeboats also save Jack?
The Titanic cinematic universe has some unanswered questions.

Brain Bubble: Monkeys Violating The Heavenly Temple (My Mind is The Temple)
On occasion, my mind wanders back to that Tails solo-game on the old SEGA Game Gear system. You do know the one, right?
Tumblr media
When I do so, I think about the lad himself. His jaunty walk cycle, to be specific. His jolly, not-a-care-in-the-world, confident yet adorable, serotonin-producing strut. That walk.
Tumblr media
The memory of such occurrence brings me back in time even further, back to a period when I would sit in front of the television, tune in on a future defunct channel that would constantly play older Japanese animated series imported to my country a decade before my birth. On occasion, I would see a certain jolly, not-a-care-in-the-world, confident yet adorable strut.
And I would get my serotonin.
But enough of me deconstructing my own autistic brain! What you just witnessed was the closing sequence for Gokū no Daibōken, a TV adaptation of Xiyou ji (also known as Saiyuki or Journey to the West), one of the most renowned Chinese literary works. The anime was produced by Osamu Tezuka's Mushi Production in 1967 and then localized for the Italian market by SINCROVOX in 1980. What you just watched (and heard) was indeed the Italian sigla, an original composition played over the end credits sequence. We've had plenty of those, back in the day.

As an aside, this show was simply known as The Monkey during our local TV run. It came to us during the Anime Boom of 1978-83, along with hundreds of other series. Many of which would include plenty of Tatsunoko IPs, Doraemon and its many clones, other Tezuka series and every Super Robot anime under the sun. If you are more curious about the subject, there is an ancient podcast of mine in which I go into more detail on the key figure responsible for it. Spoilers: the whole story somehow involves that infamous animated Titanic film. No, not the rapping dog one, The Other One.
Tumblr media
Anyway, I simply wanted to share with you a primordial memory of my childhood, a weird random thought that spiraled out of control - as it's wont to do. Indubitably, you must be feeling enriched by the experience. I might post more of these unstructured brain bubbles in the future as a way to get my mental juices flowing if I can't be bothered to write full articles or essays. To summarize: this monkey lives in my head and he does not pay rent.

Are you a DCU fan upset about the events happening in Gaza? Want to help raise money for Palestinians and contribute to the creation of more DCU fanworks? Then this is the event for you!
DCU Commissions for Palestine is a fan-led event inspired by many other successful fandom events that have raised money for Palestinians causes. This event will bring together fan artists and writers who will offer fanworks in exchange for donations.
Creator signups: July 1-15
Commissions open: July 20-August 10
Posting begins: August 17
We will be looking for DCU fan artists and writers. Any part of the DCU fandom is welcome- even crossovers!
Rules will be explained when we post the creator signup forms. Want to help in the meantime? Follow this account, reblog this post, and spread the word to all the DCU fans in your life! We are also currently accepting volunteers who want to help run/promote the event, and any physical item donations (DCU physical fanart, merch, comics, etc.). If you want to help run or promote the event or donate a physical item, just shoot us a message and we will be happy to provide you with more information! And of course, you do not need to wait for the event to support Palestine. The situation in Gaza grows more dire every day, and we encourage you to donate to any vetted fundraisers and charities if you have the means. Here is a list with some options.
Stay tuned for more information in the following days!

i think that childhood best friends to enemies trope is the most tragic thing to ever exist bc like. we’ve both done unspeakable things to each other and there’s no getting back to what we were at the start of this but there’s a part of me that still knows you like no one else could ever possibly know you. the whole idea of trust and devotion turned to a mutual, burning hunger to destroy each other. I hate you this much because i loved you this much. drives me insane.

True.
Say what you want about Titanic: The Legend Goes on…at least it had the plentiful balls to really say that people died, instead of coming up with some shit excuse to save everyone.
The main characters even adopted the singer’s dogs after they explicitly said she died during the “where are they now” sequence at the end.
Angelica wasn’t even in third class for that matter, she was in second.
Between the two animated movies, Legend Goes On tries a little harder, even with its rapping dogs and nonsensical pacing.

I hate the fact that the main response to someone lamenting over a show getting cancelled is now usually met with “which one?”

Just let women be evil 😈
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Been seeing some discussion around how the Netflix Avatar made some changes to Azula and tried to paint her in a less evil light and more as some poor child that got manipulated by her dad to be the monster she would eventually become.
And that's... Honestly a little lame imo.
Azula being a heartless monster was one of the many cool things about her, but now it feels like we're giving credit to her dad instead.
Like, she was the golden child, but she wasn't daddy's little submissive pet. A lot of what she did, she did it not because "she wanted to please daddy" but because she's just a little sh*t. Heck, she even manipulates her own father at one point, making him think Zuko killed the Avatar so she wouldn't get any blame when it was revealed he was still alive.
Ozai was the final boss, but Azula is basically the face of the show when it comes to villains. She was the bane of everyone's existence.
Having nuance and layers is nice, but sometimes I just want a lady who just loves being evil for the pettiest of reasons like wanting power, being salty for not getting what she wanted, or just because it's in her sadistic nature.
And, yeah, we have cases like Demona who you could argue is a victim of the circumstances she's in, or, again, Azula, who was practically raised to be evil, but you can't deny they clearly enjoy being bad and doing bad things to others.
Let women just be evil, and let them own their evilness.

The batkids think the alias "Nightwing" is a reference to Batman, being the bat the flying creature of the night. Clark is very much offended when he hears about this.
