[comic review] aliens versus predator versus the terminator (2000)

i was not expecting this to be a direct sequel to alien: resurrection! it isn’t the ripley/call lesbian adventure i requested (demanded, really), unfortunately, but it was still cool to see some non-canon continuation of their story. i thought the story was pretty good, overall. i certainly would’ve liked a bit more like big, messy indulgent three-way battles between the three titular menaces, and i can’t say the terminators really felt all that… terminator-like for the most part? but it was still a perfectly good read.

Not sure on the exact mechanics of how, but ecto slows down aging by a hella big amount. Perhaps amount factors into it. The main point here is Danny ages hella slow.

Someone else who ages slowly, for a different reason? Deathstroke.

I need these 2 being friends, but with different feelings about it. From Danny's end it's 100% a threat. If you asked Slade tho he'd be like "friends? Gross. No. I don't have friends. I have people I tolerate."

They've known each other since not long after Slade got whatever serum he was injected with, tho Danny was already quite old (despite looking about 20). Tho he was very happy to find someone he could fight with and not have to hold back, while also not worrying about accidentally killing them.

Danny is still a "hero" tho not full time. Him and his ghosts have an understanding so they don't really come and try and destroy Amity anymore (which was mostly enrichment on their end, which they get still they just have their fights in the Ghost Zone).

The two very frequently just show up randomly to mess with the other. To the confusion of anybody else around who isn't aware of their "relationship"

it is almost one am and im thinking about dick grayson and slade wilson. robin was written for batman. deathstroke was written for robin. slade exists to be dick grayson's villain.

slade would not exist without dick.

dick's hero is a father with dark hair and good morals. dick's villain is a father with light hair and dark morals. both of them have gotten their children killed. dick has had to pay the price for this.

dick wanted to be bruce's son. dick wanted his approval. dick wanted to be wanted by him. he resented bruce for not giving him these things.

(in teen titans 2003) slade wanted dick. wanted dick to be his apprentice, his son. dick resented him for this.

dick, to slade, will always "be the trophy."

how dick sees it, dick, to bruce, has always been just a "soldier."

slade is the very antithesis of bruce. this works out terribly for everyone involved.
