Technically Thor has full control over the "Worthyness" stuff now, so if Cass does catch/use it, she would not be able use it against him unless he let her.
Then again Thor now has the Odin-force, so he is even more powerful, which puts him on a whole new level of Nonsense.
You know someone asked me way back when DCeased was happening who would win in a fight between Shazam/Cass and Thor, which if you ask me is a pretty dumb question. You have to figure that fight begins and ends instantly with her just catching the hammer.

Steve Rogers Trauma: A TED TALK
Why is it that any kind of commentary/analysis on Steve Roger's trauma has to be met with comparisons to Bucky or Tony's trauma? Or most of the fanfics I read completely gloss over Steve's trauma?
Some of y'all legit do not care or are blind to Steve Roger's trauma throughout the Captain America & Avengers films and it shows. And this isn't hate to any fanfic writers but rather an observation of most stucky and stony fanfics which seem to minimize Steve's character & trauma in favour of highlighting their fave's. And of course it's fine that people want to write about Bucky or Tony or even Nat's trauma, but MOST TIMES* I've read these fics and they all have an intentional disregard for Steve's traumas.
And this speaks to the wider discourse around Tony, Bucky & Steve- the three characters most written about in mcu fanfics.
Because why is it that anytime I bring up Steve's PTSD or his illnesses or the hell he would've gone through pre-serum, people always HAVE to add in their 2cents about, "well yeah & Bucky went through worse." Like.???? No, I'm not talking about him.
I absolutely love Bucky and he's one of my favourite characters in both the comics and the MCU but, respectfully, this ain't about him.
I'm talking about Steve and his life. The crap he would've had to deal with both in public and at home. Especially the horrors both he and Sarah would've gone through because of Joseph Rogers who was a terrible person and an alcoholic who beat up on his wife and sickly kid.
And even post-serum when he's completely healthy and living in the future now, I'm still seeing popular narratives about "Yeah he's alive now & hasn't gone through half of what Bucky's endured over the past 70yrs." OR "He's had it easy compared to Bucky who was being tortured by HYDRA."
Um, no one's saying Bucky's treatment under HYDRA was a good thing??? But we're talking about Steve here, not Bucky?
And how he was literally frozen in a state of purgatory & how traumatic it would feel to be ripped out of it and then basically thrown to the new world on your ass without any kind of therapy or help. Most people make it seem like Steve was in a Sleeping Beauty kind of sleep and then woke up completely fine. And I will admit the MCU has been the main culprit of that narrative because they deleted so many scenes that humanized Steve Rogers, that now the gen pop thinks:
he's perfectly fine
has zero trauma
should complain about nothing
hasn't had it hard like Bucky or Tony
is a lesser hero because of all of the above
I recently had a convo with a friend & we were talking abt the scene in Avengers 1 when they were all at each other's throats. And they said that Tony was right about Steve being a laboratory experiment & everything special about him came out of a bottle. And I'm like... yeah nah, that's the lazy ass writing that Whedon perpetuated that now makes Steve one of the most misunderstood heroes & people in the MCU. Because he was special before the serum because of his consideration of others. He was special because not only did he hate bullies, but he also went out of his way to protect those that couldn't protect themselves KNOWING what that confrontation might cost him as a chronically sick person. Tony needed a whole ass arc about literally witnessing & living first hand what his weapons were doing to innocents like Yinsen & his people, to change his ways. Steve didn't have, nor did he need any of that to make him special. (AND BEFORE THE TONY STANS COME FOR ME, I LOVE TONY, HE'S LITERALLY ONE OF MY FAVES IN THE MARVEL COMICS & MCU) But this hatred for Steve is ridiculous.
And once again, it's the MCUs fault because they made Tony the ultimate hero of the Avengers at the expense of Steve Rogers' character. Him being able to prove he was "worthy" all along by lifting Thor's hammer was a cheap payoff in the end, much like the entirety of Endgame was. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.

Someone in the RT discord said that the rwby crossover should've been with marvel and it sparked a fun headcanon discussion.
Things discussed:
- Yang and Nora are both worthy of Mjolnir
- Mjolnir's process of deciding who's worthy is literally just a vibe check
- Both Tony Stark and Weiss are extremely smart, rich, and snarky. They'd probably get along.
- Since Nora is worthy, she and Thor swap weapons.
- I thought it'd be funny if Thor got surprised by the weight of Magnhild.
- Ruby zipping around Tony's lab and fangirling over...well everything.
- She asks Tony ALOT of questions regarding weaponry and electronics and he does answer but some of his terminology is a bit too technical for Ruby and Weiss just ends up join the conversation by translating the more difficult terms.
- Tony would modify Yang's arm, maybe add Jarvis to it lol. I feel like Yang would enjoy the mods, not so much the AI constantly talking to her.
- "Hey Jarvis, how do you pick up cat girls?"
- Ruby and Spider Man would get along very well.
- Jarvis reminds Ruby of Penny.
- Dr. Strange would get along with Ozpin.
- Something came up about the infinity stones against salem but I dont remember exactly.
- Bucky vs Yang, I had faith in Yang but most said Bucky would win.

Mohawk Reynolds went to Wales Comic con
To all I know and love, here is tagging you
@untilthe12ofnever @nuggsmum @alwayscaskett810 @the-boneyard-rider @hellostickerdoodle @superlc529 @happiness-in-the-dark @my-happy-corner @nfcastle @dailynathanfillions @abettis41319 @captkatecastle @frenchfrostpudding @gracielaposts
Well actually it was more Telford than it was Wales, there is a whole 61 miles between the Welsh boarder and Telford. ANYWAY not the point!
First I did a Video explaining it, just in case you are not keen on reading me ramblings
youtube
I traveled and stayed over night, all by myself and attended the comic con...all by myself! Probably not a great deal to some people but to me it was a huge massive bloody step in my ongoing tussle with my mental health.
Probably asking why I decided to take this leap, welp let me show you why.
Tumblr media
THIS GUY!
As soon as I was told he was attending I literally told myself "We're doing this!" because the chances of him attending another comic con in this country were probably slim.
So I took that plunge and yes I was DREADING it soon after I booked up, I was like "Shit I actually have to go" Talk about putting pressure on yourself.
I also made the Decision to dress up and of course it had to be Reynolds, only with a difference...I was having a Mohawk and at the very last minute, I decided "I'm taking Thor's hammer" because it's the most Mal esque job he would do. Can hear Badger approaching him and going "Got a weapon of the gods that needs shipping. You in?" and of course he and the crew would tussle over who can lift the damn thing!
So let me introduce you to Mohawk Reynolds.
Tumblr media
I'm not very tall and the jacket was almost as big as me! However...people knew who I was portraying and that was all that mattered (Yes I was wearing suspenders but the jacket was hiding them) and a lot of people dressed as Thor were like "Reynolds, give that back"
So I walked around, got a few compliments , was told I looked awesome, got fist bumps and everything, I even had kids that wanted to try and pick up Thor's hammer. You'll be pleased to know they were worthy.
Anyway to the point Adder..stop venturing off, Yes I went and met Fillion!
He was lovely! At first, before I even got to him (I was one person out) My nerves was making my heart race and I said loudly (because nerves are twats), as I was coming up to be next "Now is not the time to have a heart attack Adds!" Which he heard...and he looked at me and asked if I was okay. Gave him the thumbs up, then I went over to him, he offered his hand and I shook it and then, I swear the guy must have known I was cheeky cause he studied me and went "So who have you come as?" And I was like "Dude!" And his response was "I'm kidding! I'm kidding, cool hair though!"
I got trolled by Fillion!!!
So picture got took and can I just say, the way that man moved me into position...holy hell! Put me under a mind spell I bloody swear.
Tumblr media
Look at my stupid face!
Then the next thing was the panel, obviously it was a firefly panel with Nathan, Jewel Staite and Sean Maher (Mal, Kaylee and Simon) And they spoke about how 20 years on, it just won't die, how new fans are still being introduced and how pivotal this thing was for a generation of people.
Tumblr media
Then the floor opened up for questions and...Oh man...man do my arms ache...but it was worth it! At first I was using my arms, then I got bored of that and was like "Sod it, I'm using the hammer" So up went the hammer, questions were going in and then after a little while the main presenter guy was like "That's all we have time for" Booo but then Nathan was like "We can squeeze a few more in!" Presenter guy was over ridden, up went the hammer again and HAMMER CAME IN CLUTCH! Nathan went "Last question, make it a firefly one, Go!" I shit you not, a guy with a mic BOLTED to me and went "You with the hammer! Stand up!"
Up I stood! Hammer on my shoulder and my first words were "Whaddup?!"
FOR GODS SAKE ADDER!!!
Anyway I then proceeded to go "I have Thor's hammer but who on the firefly crew would be able to lift Thors hammer?"
And they all went "Ooooooh good question"
Nathan said "It won't be Mal, he's not pure, he's a rogue" They also ruled out Jayne etc, however they all seemingly agreed it would be Simon and I went "Hey what about Kaylee?" And Nathan's response was "Kaylee's not pure!" And Jewel was like "Why not?! All she did was have sex!"
I almost caused a punch up *Evil laughter*
Now what I didn't mention, but I will now, is that Nathan was handing out bits of his script from the Rookie and a sticker, to those who asked a question. Now because I was the VERY last person, didn't expect anything but the guy who gave me the mic, ran down to Nathan and was like "Do you have anymore script bits?" And Nathan nodded his head, handed it to the guy and pointed AT ME before leaving. Turned out Nathan saw the hammer too and indicated to the guy to run to me! I didn't notice that but that was what this runner told me and I was like "HELL YEAH!"
I got some of his script!
Tumblr media
I had a freaking amazing time too...Made friends, met some cool people saw some amazing costumes but the one that stood out for me was this guy dressed as Odin
Tumblr media
All the leather, he hand stitched himself!

okay. part of thor's nightmare is losing control of his power. and this is, afair, the only time we see him summon lightning without mjolnir before ragnarok.
it's pretty easy to interpret thor's arc in ragnarok as: thor LITERALLY didn't know he could summon lightning without the hammer. but i think this makes it clear that's not the case. what he thinks is that he can't CHANNEL it without it.
mjolnir, to thor, is a device that keeps a dangerous part of him under control. AND it's something he has to earn, to constantly strive to be Worthy of. which also makes his power itself (which seems to be a semi-innate, ie Part Of Him) something he has to earn. something odin owns but is gracious enough to lend to him.
so. if thor act out, that's dangerous.
if thor is not striving to be perfectly meet to odin's standards, if thor questions odin or his values or tries to make his own decisions... he is a danger to his loved ones. because if he loses the hammer, he loses control.
thor is a weapon, like hela was a weapon, except this time around being odin's weapon is an honour, and not being odin's weapon is a nightmare.
oh god this is fucked up.

Lightning Round: all the stories I barely want to cover
Thor the Tepid (1962, 3 issues)
The Thor-Jane-Don Blake love triangle continues to bog these stories down, as does the complete flatness of literally every single character.
“The Cobra and Mister Hyde!” and “The Thunder God Strikes Back!”: The titular villains run into each other and team up. Hyde unveils a device that will allow them to see Thor’s past, and it leads them to Dr. Blake’s office. They capture Blake, but he ““““outwits”””” them by having them tap his cane for him to turn it into Mjolnir and him into Thor. They fight, but Thor once again cannot defeat a man who was bitten by a radioactive cobra and a guy who is as strong as twelve men but has no other powers. He chases them to a tech expo where the Cobra guesses that the Elevator’s Not Worthy and uses one of the machines to yoink Mjolnir away from Thor. Since Thor will revert to Don Blake after 60 secs sans Mjolnir, he disappears into the crowd and Blake dupes the villains into retrieving his cane for him AGAIN. And then he mollywhops both of them. There’s a hype fight at the end where Thor foregoes Mjolnir and drubs Hyde within the minute-limit, but outside of that this was a dull two-parter. I think when I covered the first Thor issue I was cautiously optimistic about the Don Blake/Thor duality and 60-second limit, but having seen it in full plot-relevant display I’m unimpressed with it as a gimmick.
“When the Grey Gargoyle Strikes!”: Parisian with a stone hand that turns anyone it touches to stone for 1 hour (or 24 hours, it’s stated inconsistently) becomes a thief. He decides to steal Thor’s hammer because he quasi-correctly assumes it’s the source of Thor’s immortality. He petrifies Thor, fails to steal Mjolnir because he’s not worthy, Thor returns to being Dr. Blake, and Dr. Blake decides to beat the Grey Gargoyle by luring him on a wild motorcycle chase that sees the two of them careening into the ocean. The stone-man sinks while Blake surfaces hardly worse for wear.
Iron Man and the Iron Curtain (1959, 3 issues)
We’re only covering these Red Menace stories because of the villains; one is Natasha Romanov, the Black Widow, and the other one has a funny name.
“The Crimson Dynamo Strikes Again!” Soviet defector Ivan Vanko is working on a “laser light” weapon (and an editorial note has to explain what lasers are). Black Widow and some super-strong guy named Boris are sent to the States to sabotage Stark’s facilities, execute Vanko, and defeat Iron Man. Boris captures Vanko and takes his Crimson Dynamo armor to fight Iron Man, Black Widow seduces Stark, and Iron Man gets sneak attacked by Boris. In a rematch fight, Iron Man is rescued by Vanko, who dies operating his unsafe prototype laser light weapon to explode Boris. Black Widow reveals herself as an enemy agent during this fight and flees for her life.
“The Black Widow Strikes Again!” Everybody’s striking again, huh. Tony Stark invents an anti-gravity ray on accident and cannot replicate it. Natasha calls him to apologize, uses those pretenses to steal the ray, and goes around causing mayhem. Stark loses a fight to her, then wins a fight against her, saving her life and the lives of two Soviet henches from a collapsing mountain in the process. She begins to wonder and amaze at how wonderful the US of A is (O BEAUTIFUL FOR PILGRIM FEET WHOSE STERN IMPASSIONED STRESS A THOROUGHFARE FOR FREEDOM BEAT ACROSS THE WILDERNESS), and how deeply its people care for human life (lol).
“The Uncanny Unicorn!” The world’s smallest violin plays as CEO Tony Stark is unhappy with his chestplate-constrained life. Tony gives up on being Iron Man. The Unicorn, a dirty stinkin’ commie in power armor that does not resemble a unicorn in the slightest, attacks a Stark plant, puts Tony’s chauffeur in the ICU, and abducts Pepper, all while Tony is out dating. Tony returns to being Iron Man. He fights the Unicorn, stalemates, promises to let himself be captured if the Unicorn will spare his factory workers, then funnily enough saves the day by going back on his word - which is something that multiple prior Iron Man issues have pointedly characterized as a moral failure common to Communists. Also, wait, was I supposed to read Happy-Pepper-Tony as a love triangle the whole time? Fuck that noise, godsdamnit.
(Almost) all flash, no filler: the legerdemain of Doctor Strange (1961, 4 issues)
Part of being quick is not sharing photos, but again I really like the, well, art of the mystic arts. Beyond that, though, Doctor Strange’s stories struggle to catch interest.
“The House of Shadows”: Doc witnesses a TV host venture inside a “haunted” house. He can’t ethereally penetrate its boundaries in his spirit form, so he scries the host and observes him get disappeared by ominous mists. Doc goes inside, rescues him, learns the house itself is a living visitor from a different “space-time continuum”, and banishes it back to whence it came.
“Witchcraft in the Wax Museum”: Mordo kidnaps Strange’s body while he’s ethereally projecting; if Strange is separated from his body for 24 hours, he will die. After finding his body once more, Strange must still overcome the barrier preventing him from re-entering it, so he uses one of Mordo’s own tricks and has Mordo waste all his magic on destroying an illusory Strange, then re-enters his own and traps Mordo outside his body for 23 hours.
“The World Beyond”: Strange forgets to recite a protective charm before going to sleep and so Nightmare imprisons him. Nightmare explains that Strange is the only being to ever best him, so he plans to torment Strange’s mind in dream for all eternity. Though without mystic powers, Strange uses hypnotism (?????) on Nightmare (you can do that to non-physical beings????) to make him hallucinate the Gulgol, an extradimensional foe which Nightmare is powerless against. Nightmare thus returns Strange’s powers to him, and Strange breaks out of the Dream Dimension.
There is one good Doctor Strange story in this crop, though, “The Challenge of Loki!” Loki mentally projects to Dr. Strange and convinces him to steal Thor’s hammer. Dr. Strange realizes he’s been deceived after casting the thieving spell, and he and Loki do battle. In every issue so far, Dr. Strange’s spells have been enough to simply overwhelm whoever they’re pointed at, but to steal Mjolnir he needs to be provided a sliver from its thong first as it is too “alien an object”, and in his fight against Loki’s relatively weak mental image, he has to pull out desperate spell after desperate spell just to stay alive. Rather than just going “by the power of overpoweredness, thwart this evil”, he actually has to think and outwit his foe. Even then, it’s not enough, and it’s only when Thor is about to arrive that Loki decides to depart, saving the good Doctor’s life.

Eldritch Abomination MK Theory
OKAY. @the-punning-ubus
Tumblr media
I just want to say reading these tags are SO validating, because I have my little "MK was an eldritch abomination thing pre-hatching from stone" theory and seeing someone else come to pretty much the same conclusion feels good.
I've been meaning to write a proper theory post on this for a while, so now is as good of a time as any!
Obviously we have Wukong's "Not just anyone can wield my staff, but you did" from A Hero is Born and "The staff's just a big 'ol stick bud! It takes someone special to wield it" from 3x03, but there's also something in 1x09 Macaque:
Tumblr media
Macaque: "Your staff kinda gives you away dude, not just anyone can wield that thing."
-
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Macaque: "Ohohoh no, can't you hold the magic staff anymore? Well, you know what that means—there really isn't anything special about you. You're just a kid with a heavy stick."
-
Tumblr media
-
The sweet irony of "There really isn't anything special about you. You're just a kid with a heavy stick!" followed immediately by MK lifting the staff again is not lost on me.
So, from s1 it was pretty obvious that Wukong didn't "give" MK any form of power, but we knew that already with MK being a monkey demon and all. I just think it's particularly intriguing that all of this was laid out in the same episode where MK proclaims "I am the weapon!". In all honestly, he probably was/is.
One of the main questions coming out of s4 is "why was MK created?"—Monkey King's stone was used to form another, but for what purpose? To what end? What reason was MK at the center of all these stories?
Well, here's my current theory:
MK was something in a past life, and that something needed to be contained—and so, to put a stop to past life eldritch abomination MK, he was then sealed away in the stone.
I think this scene in particular raises some alarm bells:
Tumblr media
The stone cracks open, bursts with light, and then it closes—like something was put inside it. The scene could of course just be an aesthetic choice, or chosen to be this way for another reason we don't know yet, but it just feels so deliberate. A ball of light appearing from the stone, then another ball of light in the mystery woman's hands being revealed to hold a monkey, and then the stone reforming around the ball of light. I just can't help but feel there's something there.
Next I want to discuss the two key things that make me feel this theory has merit:
1.) MK has made a habit of breaking out of things he shouldn't be able to (the calabash in 1x05, the trigram furnace in 2x00, the scroll in 4x07, Destiny itself in 3x14) and the stone would be no exception.
2.) Every antagonist in this show has been sealed away in some form, then being released to resume their plans from before being sealed. Here's a list:
DBK was sealed under the mountain, and after being released continued his plan of world domination.
Spider Queen was metaphorically trapped in her fallen empire, and after being given the chance to rule the above world once again, immediately takes it.
The Lady Bone Demon was imprisoned in her tomb, and after being released prematurely (before learning the error of her ways), she continued her plan to destroy the world and create a new one.
Azure Lion was imprisoned in the scroll, and upon being released (by an unknown 3rd party), immediately worked to free his friends and then end the Jade Emperor's reign.
Now, I love foils, so MK breaking out of the stone he was sealed in, yet coming out an actually changed being unlike everyone else in this show, would be DELICIOUS:
Tumblr media
Lady Bone Demon: ”No backup and no weapon? So, you’re plan is to fist fight a child?” Sun Wukong: “We both know that’s not what you are.”
(3x11 This Imperfect World)
-
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lady Bone Demon: "STOP! Have you forgotten? Destroy me and you destroy the host! Have you become so desperate to end me that you would sacrifice this blameless innocent child?" Sun Wukong: "You're giving me no choice! All the time you spent locked away, and you haven't changed a bit! I'm going to finish you, like I should have done a long time ago! I told you—you should have stayed buried."
(3x11 This Imperfect World)
-
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Subodhi: "I have not brought you to your master. Although this is the stone from which Sun Wukong once sprung, it appears overtime, it was used to form another. A simple creature, with no past, no family, and no name. There is a reason you were at the center of these stories—a reason you can harness the power of the Monkey King himself!"
(4x06 Show Me the Monster)
-
(If you want extra fodder for this, please see this parallels post :3)
So, if MK were to hatch out of the stone—where *he* was sealed away—and he actually came out of it a "blameless innocent child" with "no past, no family, and no name", it would work exceedingly well. Wukong's not above giving people second chances, but if you use that second chance to try and destroy the world, you force his hand.
(Side note: it could also be the case that the stone was used to "reset" whatever MK was in his past life, and Wukong was originally meant to destroy whatever came out of the stone—which could be the reason he stayed at Flower Fruit Mountain for hundreds of years. However, when an child came out, a new being without a past or the memories of what it was before—Wukong choose to let it go. He choose to let it live a normal life—or even ensuring it could live a normal life—and it then found it's way to Pigsy. This definitely gets into real crack theory territory, but I did want to bring it up.)
Now, none of this is even mentioning the suspiciously MK shaped figure in the mural from 3x13:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, the figure in this mural is only shown when MK is also on screen, which is framing that drives me insane. Perhaps this is when they first caught MK's past life, then finally able to subdue him and seal him in the stone.
And so, if MK really was this terrible chaos driven abomination in his past life, what does that mean ✨thematically✨?
Well,
Tumblr media
Sun Wukong: “Point is, mistakes happen, but so long as you leave the world in better shape than you found it, then it’s all good. Right?”
(4x01 Familiar Tales)
-
Tumblr media
SWK: “ENOUGH! I’ve never let anyone dictate my destiny in the past, and I’m not about to start now. None of us are! We can’t change who we were yesterday or in a past life, or a hundred life times ago! We live with the choices we’ve made, for what matter is the choices we make RIGHT NOW! Only we decide who we are and what we do with the power we have.”
(4x07 Pitiful Creatures)
-
MK can't change who he was in a past life. He can't change that the roads all lead to pain. But you know what he can do? He can try. He can try and get a little bit better every day. He can try and help people. He can try and make the world better than he found it.
Maybe in a past life, MK caused just as must chaos and destruction as Wukong did in his past. Maybe he caused even more problems than he has as the Monkie Kid. But that also doesn't undo the good he's doing now.
Anyways, that's my "MK was an eldritch abomination thing pre-hatching from stone" theory. Hope you enjoyed

This week, I started my Epic Stucky Fic Download of 2021 (I'm somewhere in 2015 at the moment, 2014 and before are done), which means I re-read some oldies... I hope you enjoy!
Complete
Heaven and Hell were words to me by this_wayward_life (Post-Endgame, PWP, BDSM | 3K | Explicit): Bucky usually prides himself in being a relatively observant person. He was back in Brooklyn when he and Steve were cramped together in that tiny one-bedroom apartment, he was during his time as the Asset, and he was during that strange period between his defection from Hydra and Steve finding him. So, he's more than a little surprised when Steve manages to keep a secret from him. So it comes as a bit of a shock when Bucky comes home one day after a mission for Steve to take his hands and whisper that he's got a surprise for him. (Part 3 of No grave can hold my body down)
💙 Diving In The Deep End by musette22/ @musette22 (Evanstan RPF | 19K | Explicit): Scarlett raises a perfectly manicured eyebrow. “You’re telling me that you never once in your entire life, not even during theater school, locked lips with another guy?”
💙 you know I'd quench that thirst by napricot (Canon, Bucky/Steve/Peggy | 38K | Explicit): Steve Rogers is very much not a virgin. Not before the serum, and sure as hell not after it, when the serum ramps up his libido along with everything else. Too bad everyone thinks Captain America is a sexless historical symbol. Or: the tragicomic sexual odyssey of Steve Rogers, and how it begins, and then much later ends, with Bucky Barnes.
i got it bad for you by howdoyousleep/ @howdoyousleep3 (Evanstan RPF, PWP, Daddy kink | 4K | Explicit): “Yeah? Older?” “Yeah yeah, just…I don’t know, the beard? This fucking hair? Just…I don’t know— older,” he manages to chuckle nervously, gasping into Chris’ mouth when their squirming leads their dicks into lining up beautifully. Seb aches, yearns, mouth watering as he mewls, both hands in Chris’ hair as he licks into Sebastian’s mouth. And then Chris pulls back, breathes hot on Sebastian’s cheek, his bottom lip, croons, “Like your Daddy?”
💙 The Wedding Planner(’s Assistant) by crinklefries/ @spacerenegades (Shrinkyclinks | 40K | Teen): Bucky Barnes is in a bit of a conundrum. For example, on the one hand, he’s the former extremely polished, brutally efficient, and impressively ruthless brainwashed weapon of mass murder for the secret Nazi arm of the United States government. On the other hand, he has an uncontrollable crush on the cute blond wedding planner who lives next door.
Accidental husbands... by darter_blue/ @darter-blue (Shrunkyclunks, Accidental Marriage | 2K | Mature): Or the one where Bucky finds himself accidentally married to a superhero. And he definitely isn't mad about it.
WIP
💙 and the river flows beneath your skin by Deisderium/ @deisderium (Boarding School AU, Soulmates | 9/? | 70K | Mature): In which Steve and Bucky are forced to room together their senior year at boarding school, and accidentally soul bond to each other even though they kind of hate each other. All they have to do to get out of it is not kiss each other for a year so the accidental bond will fade. How hard could it be?
Re-Read
💙 (760): I literally cut myself out of my pants. Waste. Of. Money. by relenafanel/ @relenafanel (Modern AU | 6K | Mature): Hey friend of Sam’s can I get an opinion on this outfit? Bucky texted, attaching the selfie taken in Sam’s bathroom mirror. He received an answer almost immediately. Bucky was almost expecting a lecture, or at least a concerned question about who had stolen Sam’s phone. He got neither. Or: Bucky strikes up a flirtation with a stranger over text message in the month leading up to Valentine's Day.
💙 Bucky Barnes and his Big Beefy Blonde by Kellyscams/ @thebestpersonherelovesbucky (Shrunkyclunks, PWP | 6K | Explicit): Bucky Barnes loves Big, Beefy, Blondes. What he loves most about Big, Beefy, Blondes is having no string attached sex with them. Until he meets a Big, Beefy, Blonde that just happens to be Steve Rogers -- Captain America who's only been declared alive a few months ago. This is one that could go down as Bucky's fuck of a lifetime. That's if he can avoid these pesky feelings that start showing up out of nowhere.
💙 Bucky Barnes and his Big Beefy Blonde Part 2 by Kellyscams/ @thebestpersonherelovesbucky (Shrunkyclunks, Strangers to Lovers | 16K | Explicit): Bucky Barnes once spent eight glorious, sex-filled days with the Big, Beefy, Blonde fuck of a lifetime -- the recently defrosted Steve "Captain America" Rogers. Three months later, things aren't exactly the way Bucky imagined they'd be. This Big, Beefy, Blonde, really may have changed him forever.
💙 Series: You Make Me Feel Like I Am Home Again by Taste_is_Sweet/ @taste-is-sweet (Canon, Post-Winter Soldier | 19 works | 127K | Teen): Connected stories about Bucky and Steve: the world's most adorable relics.
if ye be worthy by hitlikehammers (Post-AOU | 2K | Teen): “Do you know what that is?” Bruce asks, voice low, but that’s not really new, for him. “It’s Thor’s hammer-thingy,” Bucky shrugs. “Look, man, I know it was shitty to give it a swing without him knowing, I’m sor—” “You swung it?”
💙 For Words to Say it Right by Squeaky, Taste_is_Sweet/ @taste-is-sweet (Modern AU, Soulmates | 25K | Teen): Turns out when you're missing an arm, everyone asks are you okay? all the damn time. And when your soulmark is one of the most common questions in English, it's even worse. Generic soulmarks are a bitch.
💙 Just Hold Me by shanology/ @shanology (Post-Winter Soldier | 10K | Explicit): Bucky Barnes is living in Avengers Tower, and all he wants in the world is to be cuddled. He sets out to get his new friends to give him the snuggling he needs, because it's not something he can ask of Steve yet. Steve doesn't see it in quite the same way. Also, there are Avengers movie nights, possibly with a showing of The Covenant. Just saying.
💙 Imprint by hetrez (Post-Avengers | 7K | General): "The next day, Steve and the other Avengers are just settling into a meeting on the flight deck when there's a muffled yell, and Alvarez falls out of the ceiling." -- Or, Steve builds a training program, a team, and new life for himself. (Part 1 of Make Way For Ducklings)
💙 Awakenings by hetrez (Canon divergent - Winter Soldier | 19K | Explicit): Bucky says, "Do you know, after you leave -- every time you leave, after the doctors have taken my mask off, I walk around this place and try to find everywhere you've been. Was your hand on the toaster? Did you lean against the doorway? Where were you on the couch? I haven't seen your face in seventy-five years, not really." (Part 2 of Make Way For Ducklings)

Thor 4: The Good, The Bad, And The Theory
So, Thor: Love And Thunder. The fourth installment in Thor’s story. Easily one of my least anticipated Marvel projects, alongside Ms. Marvel. Let’s discuss it, starting with...
THE GOOD
Thor 4 was a BLAST. Every moment had energy and emotion, the action was fantastic, Gorr’s weakness and cunning was a great foil to Thor’s fear and strength, and despite how we literally saw a god fight a normal guy, it was incredibly balanced thanks Gorr’s magic weapon, the Necrosword. I think that’s what it was called.
This movie is bright, colorful, impactful, and it knows how to drive home the main story beats and keep you invested. That’s all the good stuff. Let’s move on to...
THE BAD
Thor 4 was rushed. It didn’t give itself enough time to tell the story. But even then, that pales in comparison to it’s biggest issue: “Tell, Don’t Show”. Gorr killed so many gods! ...okay, am I supposed to care? That’s very vague and disconnected. Gorr’s in the Shadow Realm! Except...let’s just explain it all at once. This was consistent throughout the film, but it was notably most prevalent in regards to Gorr himself. And it’s annoying. If I wanted to be told the story of Thor 4, I’d read a book. But this is an MCU film, so I want to watch it. SHOW, don’t TELL. But Marvel must not have gotten the memo
Also did it strike anyone else as odd that...oh yeah, Heimdel had a son??? Like, I didn’t take him for the romantic type, so Idk who he got together with or why, or why she’s suspiciously absent from the central story, but...like...Idk. I guess I kinda wish this was a predictable reveal? It feels way too out-of-the-blue lol. But now, let’s discuss my biggest and most pressing Thor 4 theory...
THE THEORY
Y’all might expect a theory about Zeus or Hercules, or maybe Valhalla, or perhaps Korg or, Idk, anything connected to the movie and it’s main characters, but I’m focused on a singular ability shown in the film: Jane’s transformation ability
One thing we have seen a million times already is Thor grabbing Mjolnir and immediately and magically transforming into his armor. Loki has a similar ability, too. Vision and Steve Rogers, however, are two people who wielded Mjolnir yet didn’t transform. I believe we have confirmation that Steve gained access to all of Thor’s powers in that moment (combination of interviews as well as Odin’s “Whosoever wields this hammer, should he be worthy, shall wield the power of Thor”, as well as the crucial moment where Steve Rogers actually magically calls Mjolnir to him, and him using lightning), however never once did we see a transformation. And I wondered...why...
So I wrote it off as “Oh, that’s not one of Thor’s abilities, then, maybe it’s just an Asgardian thing
And then Jane Foster transforms. And it’s like, “Oh...”
Now here’s where my theory starts spiraling. So, Thor’s powers include transformation, so we know for a fact Steve Rogers was capable of it; Vision, maybe not, as he’s technically not an organic being, but Steve Rogers for sure could transform if he wanted to. But he didn’t. He also used some of Thor’s powers like his lightning, but he abandoned others; he doesn’t seem any stronger than usual. The hammer hits with a boatload of force because of it’s enchantments, but the hammer is weightless to those who are worthy, and how Steve Rogers uses his shield while holding the hammer doesn’t change, meaning Thor’s strength isn’t being used. But why?
My theory is this: the power of the gods would kill any human regardless.
Jane Foster died fast because she was fighting cancer, and her mortal body had no energy while she was in Thor form...but this implies her mortal body wouldn’t have any energy anytime regardless, meaning she would slowly be draining/killing herself anyways, regardless of her health. Furthermore, Red Skull tells Captain America in The First Avenger, “You could have the power of the gods!” And then the very power Red Skull was trying to control consumed him, essentially. Furthermore, Jane Foster was slowly dying when she had the Aether inside of her.
Humans. Cannot. Wield. These. Powers. Not naturally, anyways
I suspect Captain America realized this. He saw what the Tesseract did to Red Skull. He doesn’t crave power, and he very-much-so knows it’s destructive. He only used Thor’s abilities when they were crucial to be used, otherwise he relied on physical attacks against Thanos, even after grabbing Mjolnir. So my theory is this very radical, very unlikely idea:
Zeus will destroy humanity by bestowing lightning powers to humans, under the guise of Thor. He will make everyone worship Thor, but then these powers will destroy the humans because their bodies cannot handle it. This will result in humans hating Thor, humiliating the god and turning everything against him before he faces off against Zeus, and falls from the sky.
Okay, obviously, he’ll win, but that’s what I think Zeus’ plan is, and I think Hercules is a distraction to us and to Thor regarding this plan. Hercules was a hero on occasion in the comics; what could turn him against Zeus better than finding out he was being used as distraction? That his entire quest was meaningless?
And if you need more compelling evidence, think about everything Thor has lost. His family. His home. His love. He lost his weapon, his friends (the Guardians), the Avengers, he’s lost nearly everything. But he’s always had his people, and he’s always had the trust and support of Earth, who practically worships him...what if Zeus’ plan is to take away what little Thor has left?
Thank you for sticking with me through this wild Clock Talk! Adios!

pre serum steve lifting thors hammer,,,,IMMACULATE mwah how did u know i was so enamored w thor finding mjolnir on midgard at last only to find someone else holding it and this “someone else” looking like they would blow away on a stiff breeze but is apparently deemed worthy of lifting mjolnir,,,,,,,
I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE WITH THAT SPECIFIC DESIRE AAAHH!!!
P L E A S E, Thor and pre-serum Steve is a GIFT. Steve lifting the hammer, either too hard because he thinks it must be very heavy, or casually like he's just setting aside something in his way🥰
Just the fact he's holding an ancient, god-worthy weapon in his small hand, capable of flight and summoning lighting at his will, having no idea of all that as he carries it, unsure what to do.
Maybe!! Maybe Thor and Loki are on Earth, doing some stuff, and then Thor accidentally forgets Mjolnir in a restaurant. Steve sees it, picks it up and rushes outside, "Sir! Sir your....... hammer."
Thor turns around and-- GASP!! Someone else is lifting his hammer!! He decides to get a peek at Steve's life, full ready to step in and smite the bullies kicking Steve down, but he is stunned when Steve kicks and punches back, still getting up to his feet. Thor does step in, chasing away the bullies at once, and Steve thanks him.
"Hey, have we... met before?"
"Yes, but not formally. You brought me back Mjolnir."
Steve frowns. "Mjolnir?"
Thor shows him. "My, er, hammer."
.
Or maybe they meet in Cap Leheigh👀 I can imagine the looks on the others' faces when a literal Norse God strolls into the place aahh. Him seeing Steve jump on the grenade, take down the flagpole, endure hardship from the other soldiers and his superior. Thor muses he would make a fine Asgardian warrior -- and then Steve lifts the hammer.
A fine Asgardian Warrior indeed
Like especially imagine if the serum does enhance Steve, but doesn't give him the physical transformation so he stays in the same body only now with peak form, imagine the HEIGHT DIFFERENCE. Thor is taller than Steve with the serum, my mind is going nuts imagining it without the serum.
Just PLEASE the hugs

Dumb Details From the Loki Trailer I noticed but then got too serious about
First - apparently it’s not a trailer, so I guess we’ll get ‘Trailer 1′ later? ‘Exclusive Clip’ hardly seems accurate, but hey, I’m not Disney’s marketing division. I wouldn’t live in a shoebox if I was.
Dumb detail no. 1:
Tumblr media
Owen Wilson’s jacket is...weird. Look closely.
Tumblr media
And another shot:
Tumblr media
Yeah...his jacket has a ‘reversed collar’. It’s a cut-out rather than cloth folding on top. Huh. What a strange design choice. What could it mean?
I’ve no idea, but that I watched the trailer enough times to notice this should concern you.
Detail No. 2
Tumblr media
In this scene, we see what we can presume to be President Loki’s ‘Throne’. Notice the candy-canes. This is a Santa Claus throne, presumably from some mall Santa. This whole place might be in a mall, judging by the stuff in it.
But the Loki in this shot is not President Loki. Notice that he’s wearing brown pants, a thin brown tie, and the beige shirt he’s seen wearing in other parts of the trailer after he's apparently joined the TVA. President Loki wears black pants, a green vest and a wide green tie with a golden clip that resembles Loki’s little chevron he always has (more on that later).
So it would seem that Loki might meet President Loki here. President Loki might even be addressing him at the end of the trailer. It’s possible that his minions turn on him because there’s two Lokis and they don’t know which is the ‘imposter’.
Tumblr media
Speaking of, there’s a minion with bicycle handlebars grafted to a football helmet here, likely meant to resemble Loki. I dig it. There’s also cans of food scattered among the rubbish here. Makes sense that food production is non-existent since everyone has resorted to wearing license plates and spoons. Love how tattered the whole aesthetic is.
This reminds me of the opening Michael Waldron’s script ‘Worst Guy of All Time’, which featured a similar post-apocalyptic setting after the ‘worst guy’ ruins everything and makes himself king of the ashes. That’s likely what’s happened here, but I hope that Loki isn’t anything like Logan Paul, who was the inspiration for that title character.
Tumblr media
Ah, the mysterious female character watching a meteor shower WAY TOO CLOSE UP. But my eyes are drawn to one thing...
Tumblr media
What is that oblong object with a shiny handle? Could it be...
Tumblr media
A sword? I do love swords. Did you know there’s a bunch of pictures of me in the stock photos for ‘Fencing?’ That’s my cred for loving swords.
I suspect that this female character will be an amalgamation of Amora (shudder) and Sylvie and an alternate Loki of some kind. This sword is currently in her possession, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it or another timeline version of it becomes the Loki Show’s Loki′s weapon.
Loki has lacked a ‘weapon of his own’ in the MCU for quite some time. I mean, yes, he has his little knives, but they are many and disposable and something he chose for himself, rather than the two legendary weapons wielded by Odin and Thor, Gungnir and Mjolnir. In fact, throughout his appearances, Loki has seemed to want such a thing of his own - he briefly had Gungnir, and then the Gungnir-like scepter, and even tried to lift Mjolnir.
One might ask why Odin would’ve overlooked such an obvious show of favouritism. Why give Thor a storied weapon and leave Loki empty-handed? Heck, even Hela had the Necroblade.
In Thor 1, we might’ve assumed that the Casket of Ancient Winters was perhaps intended one day to be given to Loki, as it is shown with Mjolnir in the Vault and thus connected to it and the children who would inherit it.  But in the comics, Odin did have another weapon of storied history put away for his second son: Gram the Sword.
It was locked for eons by Odin in a special vault which required five keys to be opened, and it was meant to be for Loki if he be worthy.[2] The five keys were infused by Odin with the powers of "journeys", "endurance", "secrets", "new beginnings", and "brotherhood", respectively.[3]
The sword, like everything else in comics, has a complicated history full of take-backs and twists, but let’s just leave it at ‘it’s a representation of Loki’s worthiness and belonging in the trifecta with Odin and Thor as a King of Asgard’. It gives him ‘equality’.
In the original mythology, it’s wielded by Sigurd to kill the dragon Fafnir, and the only relation it has to Loki is that Loki is partially responsible for Fafnir existing in the first place (my username is nod to this myth by the by. Sorry Ottär.) But hey, maybe that means we’re getting a dragon? The Fafnir would be very cool.
Or it could just be a bit of rebar in this mining quarry.
Then again...it appears somewhere else...
Tumblr media
It’s easier to see in motion, but that’s a sword swinging on this person’s back.
Tumblr media
So the hooded figure is this lady...shall we call her Amylkie? Does that mean she’s the antagonist of this show? Well...maybe, but I suspect the true antagonist is foreshadowed here  -
Tumblr media
So, what’s going on here? A young girl (Young Amylkie? Some other TVA prisoner that the guard is watching over? An oracle, A Norn, or a kid who wandered off from the tour group in a basilica somewhere?) She’s giving Mobius M. Mobius a...piece of chocolate. Maybe he saw a Dementor, I dunno. I suspect it’ll be a MacGuffin of some kind later. He looks pretty concerned here, which contrasts with his ‘another day at the office’ blaséness when dealing with Loki. But of course this is the eye-catcher:
Tumblr media
So, Norse Mythology. It’s been Christiannized. You can thank Snorri Sturluson for that, but you can google all about him later. Let’s just say that he made many Norse figures into equivalents for Christian ones. Baldur is Jesus, pure and a sacrificial lamb who dies for a greater good. And the devil is...Loki. Something the Marvel comics and the MCU have continued.
Here we have a devil, dressed in green and with a distinct shape on his chest:
Tumblr media
Hmmm...wait...I know that weird horny shape...
Tumblr media
Ah. I’d say that cinches it. This is meant to be Loki. If you look at the devil’s hair, it also resembles Loki’s, being shoulder-length and black.
So, what’s devil-Loki doing? Laying an egg? Trying out a foot massager? For a second I thought it was a moon, but we see the moon over his left shoulder, amongst the stars. Which means this is - probably the Earth.
...Dammit; I live there.
So Earth is barren and being devoured by flames, likely caused by this Loki sitting atop of it (in a throne, no less). Aw gee, things look pretty bad, don’t they?
But wait - what’s that? Under the Earth (and, possibly, under the earth)?
Tumblr media
It’s a plant. A shoot, to be exact.
Back to Ragnarok for a second. Ragnarok isn’t the apocalypse (something we see a lot of in this trailer - all of it seems to be exploring the end of days). Ragnarok is the fire meant to wipe out the old and fertilize the ground for the new. And after the gods have died, what happens? Well, Baldur emerges from Hel, one of the only surviving gods (hmm, seems him dying worked out, didn’t it?). He’s joined by Líf and Lífþrasir, who are the new first man and woman, who’s names mean ‘Life’ and who are pictured, usually, with plants and new life. It is they who are tasked who growing a new Yggdrasil after the destruction of the old. The previous first man and woman are Ask and Embla, meaning Ash Tree and Vine/Elm tree, so there’s a theme there.
Tumblr media
So a new sprout, possibly a tree, growing out of the destruction of the old.
This fits with Loki’s role as understood in mythology. He checks the arrogance of the gods, including when they tried to achieve immortality (sorry, Baldur, nothing personal), and that keeps the gods at their best. After Loki is imprisoned, the gods become weak, unhelpful and foolish, and Yggdrasil starts to rot. Eventually Loki escapes and returns along with Surtur (who also resembles this figure) to burn it all to the ground. This is also referenced in Thor:Ragnarok, with Loki releasing Surtur in the Vault, a place of thematic importance to Loki and one that represents the hidden secrets and sins of Asgard). You could say Ragnarok continued into Infinity War, where Loki played an important part in aiding Thanos’ destruction, giving up the stone to protect his brother and essentially dooming the rest of the universe - but also ultimately leading to its salvation, even if, like Myth Loki, he wasn’t around to see it.
So, we see Amylkie literally start a fire in the trailer -
Tumblr media
- in fact, this whole trailer is awash in flame -
Tumblr media
It’s fire, fire everywhere and she’s setting them!
It’s possible Amylkie’s our big bad, but I think there’s a chance she’s either a red herring, or, much like how Loki ‘worked’ with Thanos in The Avengers, she is the pawn of a greater foe -
Tumblr media
  - a Loki bent on destruction, for some reason or other. The TVA is obviously aware that this is the case, and it seems like they might be trying to ‘fight fire with fire’ by enlisting one Loki to combat another. The villain could be President Loki, since there's evidence of 2 Lokis in that scene - or maybe that's one of many Lokis, and the Big Bad Loki is being played by Hugh Grant as Old Loki. In any case, it would appear that Loki will be coming face-to-face with the worst versions of himself, and many of them. And, if I’m right about this scene:
Tumblr media
...Loki will likely eventually discover that even his ‘good’ timeline ended in the destruction of his people and home, plus his own gruesome and torturous death. Although I think the TVA will keep that from him, and just show him the happy parts in an effort to inspire ‘good behaviour’. Until Loki inevitably discovers the rest of how that timeline played out and realize he’s been lied to. I don’t imagine he’ll take that very well...
Tumblr media
Damn, even our ‘hero’ Loki is burning stuff down! Does this mean that Loki is doomed, always meant to be an avatar of death and toasty destruction?
Well...let’s go back to that stained glass.
Tumblr media
Hmmm...wait...I know that weird horny shape...
Tumblr media
And there’s something else...the bottom of the Earth is being lit up, and not by fire. Light appears to be coming off this little plant.
What colour is this plant again? That’s right, green. Green is the colour of new life and growth and change and...hang on, I’ve heard that before, too...
Tumblr media
Hang on hang on HANG ON... let me have a look at the shape again.
Tumblr media
That’s...a letter. An L? For Loki? Like in the title sequence?
Wait...no, a different letter. An older letter. After all, Loki is old Norse. How do you spell his name in that again?
Tumblr media
ᛚᛟᚲ ᛁ -
And ENHANCE on that third letter!
Tumblr media
This, my friends, is a Kenaz/Kaunaz, or what would become 'K' in our alphabet. It is also known as the 'Loki Rune' (and the Ulcer Rune, for some reason. I suspect Odin understands why). It’s used to spell his name, but is also used on his own to represent him. Heck, it's even his Superman 'S' in the comics:
Tumblr media
Runes are more than letters - they are symbols for concepts. So what else does it mean?
Primarly, it means ‘torch’.
And also ‘knowledge’ (ken). As well as ‘growth, change, the search for truth, decay, arrogance, elitism, feminine, kinship and creativity.’
...Okay, that’s a lot, but you have to admit it fits.
More specifically, it means ‘Mastery of the Fire’. As in, someone who has learned to tame fire so that it is helpful, not harmful. To bring light and, symbolically, knowledge.
There’s another way Loki’s been associated with fire - in the Wagner Ring Cycle, Das Rheingold, the opera that inspired much the Thor films’ aesthetic and certainly their helmets, Loki is called ‘Loge’, which means ‘Fire’. He’s usually dressed to match, too -
Tumblr media
Many trickster figures are associated with fire. They are usually called ‘Fire-bringers’ - See: Raven, Lucifer, Prometheus, etc. They are often complex figures with a foot in different worlds, but who nonetheless help mankind with the gift of ‘fire’ - although they usually pay for it, and tend to be self-destructive.
(Side note. Lucifer means light-bringer, which is what luciferase is named after. Because it glows. Which is helpful in labs. In case someone needed to know that.)
Moving from a destructive fire-starter to a fire-bringer seems like a great character arc for Loki to take, especially given his rehabilitation in pop culture, the comics, and even wider culture. Loki has gone from being seen as an evil, deviant, destructive character to one who’s seen as a patron of the arts and creativity, of stories rather than lies. Heck, some scholars of Norse Mythology even posit that he’s the closet thing to a protagonist Norse Mythology has, so I guess that backfired, Snorri!). Being dressed in green and with the sprout clearly also being stylized after his Kaunaz, there’s foreshadowing that he’ll be capable of growing good things even out of ashes.
So, to sum up: Being ‘Satan’ sounds pretty bad, but with a little letter re-arranging like we see in the title sequence, you can be...
Tumblr media
...practically a saint. Maybe even a saviour.
Tumblr media
Merry Christmas, everybody.

Perception is Key
Part Two to Hell on Earth
avengers x reader
series masterlist
masterlist
Summary; dread is all you feel as you take up temporary residence in New Asgard. Something big is coming, and you are not the only one that can feel it, but despite that, Thor tries to make you feel safe in his rebuilt kingdom, though all you see is it falling before your knees
Warnings; mentions of death, angst, secrecy
divider by @firefly-graphics
Tumblr media
Death, it was a certain doom for all living mechanisms, even Asgard had been demolished by its inevitable demise. Yet here you were, nursing an off handed bottle of ale that came from the gods, whilst you breathed in the salt scent that regarded from the ocean that crashed by. New Asgard, the home of Thor and his brothers in arms, whilst his real sibling was killed by Thanos. It was a shame to see the brave deity in mourning, however, there was nothing that you could do about it. Nothing.
The concept of the end came to all, it was a daunting curse that teased its victims, and pried them into sculpting their own fears of it. But for all the people in the galaxy knew, death could be peaceful; you liked to think that you were the same. A wound cog that did not work for their purpose, a villain that could do some good. And whilst you had never threatened the end of the world, your hereditary abilities sure as hell did. It was another danger to humans and more, thus making you one in regard.
Killing was a route that you didn’t want to take, it was dark, and there was no way back for redemption. Murderers and the bad guys, if they wanted penance, would spend their whole lives trying to make amends for what they did, in exchange for a forgiveness that they would never be granted. And if you did such a thing, as regretting causing exhibitions of death, your father would send for you from the underworld, and have you dragged back down to his bleak halls.
Those heroes would rise, as the ones that you came to know and befriend were brought to bottomless pits of service for Hades, suffering for all eternity as they knelt before the god whom ruled hell. Mother could only prey that he would give up his display of the deceased, he used them like puppets, and it was not a friendly scenic for the next batch of Demi gods that they were planning. You were brilliantly strong, but they would be stronger, as not only would they have the army of warriors behind them, they would be invincible.
Their carriageway into ironic new life, was affecting to you, you could feel it as their existence seared through your veins. There was a war coming, and it was going to be a blood bath, there would be bodies littered on all the planets as they respected their appetites, and they would come for you. It wasn’t silly for you to fear them, they had been around before, it was a rebirth for the ages, a damning revolution that would drain all the breathing from the lungs of species, flushing their external beings into whisperings of blistered remains.
Zagreus and Macaria were coming, pursuing the punishment that was deemed worthy for your scoundrel self, you were nothing more than another revamped version of yourself, raised from the ashes, and taking your overdue time to age. You were supposed to be the cause for the world’s destruction, but they, they would tear every atom down piece by piece, because you were unable to complete your mission of birthright.
Humans, nor other vessels of aspiring and mundane inventions, had the impact of defence to protect themselves from more dominant species. They were simply specks with heart beats in the universe, thumping in their chests as they strived to usher their own planet under the hypocrisy of a dying climate.
“Heimdall once said that Hades had a vision, and he, a seer of all people, couldn’t see how far his faction of thought went. There was no end with his quarrel with the nattering of life, instead, it was competently endless, going on for light years upon light years, straggling the gods into the grand demise. To put it into other words, you are his vision.”
“Well I’m not sure that our Vision back at the compound would be too pleased if I coined his name.” But all joking aside, the air shifted every time that you brought lightness to your words. Continuing, you spoke to Thor, whom had brought you to his evolved demeanour of his homeland, and stole you from the consequences of the violent struggle that you had instinctively conquests upon James Buchanan Barnes. “However, on a more serious note, you are aware of my origin, and the truths that Hades is my father. You know of why he crafted me, but there will be a greater shadow than my foresworn self, and the others need to know of this oncoming riot.”
“We shall tell them, but first; eat.” The god of thunder intended for you to follow through with his kind hearted order, though a heated rumble shook the core of the earth, the energy trembling up your legs. They had been born, sooner than anticipated, and much closer to your break from the ruckus than you had wanted.
“I am not sure we have the time, you felt that cause of apocalyptic foreshadowing, I can tell by the fearful promise on your face. My father will not rest until he has me, a weapon in his hold returned, and to do so, he will tear apart this family, in literal terms, so that I can return to my biological home.”
“Eat.” Thor spoke once more, gulping down the terror that graced his long spanned veins. “If there is to be a fight on earth for the ages, destruction raining down on midguard, then you will need your strength. There is no need to deprive yourself of basic necessities, young warrior.”
Accepting the small loaf from his hand, you watched as the crumbs fled a trail through your palm. Even you appetite was frolicking trauma upon bacteria that swayed in the depths of the bread; the gathered yeast feared you, much like you feared yourself. “I’m going to have to return to the compound, as much as I hate to do so after what I had done, they have to know. And throughout our excursion of informative speech, then they shall have to know of my dreaded secret.”
But what if they already knew?
“A weapon like that...” Steve shook his head as he threw the classified papers onto the desk space he had reserved for his affiliated research. “We have to protect the earth, and if we have to do so from her, then we will have to stretch to any means necessary.” The captain gulped, not pleased as he divulged deeper into this situation with his friend.
Bucky remained shocked from the fleeting threats that had deranged from your form; it was like a curse adorned you, but it turned out, it was just you. Nothing had made you this way, instead, you were born a vigil monster, a daughter of a fraternising god.
“The daughter of Hades... I miss the old days where we believed in one god, and went to church every Sunday morning.” He wasn’t have supposed to have heard Barnes talking, but the figure did as he pressed himself against the wall, his hearing inclined to listen to more.
Peter’s eyes bulged as he was silently affirmed with the truth. He had a web stringing each digression together as he thought of your independence that you had been determined to keep. They were going to tell everyone, swaying their opinions from what they knew, rather than what they did not.
But that made you a legend, a mortal infliction of ancient religion; there must have been more to know. He had to be silent to ensure he didn’t trigger an alert to the super soldier’s enhanced hearing, as the boy that was pursed with a spider bite slipped away, portraying his fawning portrayal of being a vigilante.
His assumed destination that his quiet feet were carrying him too was the library. There’d surely be something useful in the walls of filled shelves, and if there wasn’t, then the internet was a useful friend. As he entered the subjective room for required reading, he saw the Falcon himself, Sam Wilson, seated at a small and solitary table.
Perhaps... no, it’d be wrong to turn him against his close friends... but possibly what was necessary. Peter allowed his doe eyes to scan the various sections. Mythology. Though, all avengers knew that there was some truth to every realistic evolution of belief, though it was usually only a little. But maybe, in your case, there would be more.
Tony had told him there had been an incident, and Peter had believed that Mr Stark was concealing a devise of perception from the rest of the aligned team. It was certainly wrong for him to delve against the ruin of the circumstances, but he was eager to do anyways. Whatever happened must’ve been lined coursing seriousness, and he was afflicted with firm interest to find out what.
Ah, he found something. Adjoined with the abilities he knew that you were capable of, he knew it must have been in regards to you, it just made sense. The spine spoke with integrity, daring anyone to read the biblical novel of fumed remark that raised hell on Earth.
The goddess of invoked, bringer of nightmares and madness, Melinoë.

Stephen’s indelible sin
For those who follow me for a while, you’re probably aware that I speak of guilt and self-loathing A LOT when it comes to Stephen. Once I wrote about his most terrible sin, but since then, I’ve gathered MORE information concerning Stephen and Hulk’s relationship. And, on a personal level, I think both fans and writers should explore this bond more, given their history.
Today, I’ll bring a detailed review on Stephen’s mistake and how it escalated into a pain that will never cease to exist within his heart and soul.
Warning: get your handkerchiefs ready, this is about to become sad quite rapidly.
We’ll begin our journey of angst in 1967, as seen in Strange Tales #156-157. In order to prevent Umar from walking on Earth, the Ancient One advises Stephen to release an evil and powerful demon called Zom. The demon is able to defeat Umar, but his strength is overwhelming, enough to give the Ancient One a hard time. Zom’s power is so evil and cursed that releasing him is a deed that catches the Living Tribunal’s (undue) attention. The Living Tribunal is so offended he wants to destroy Earth. And guess what? He blames Stephen, even though he was a mere apprentice imbued with blind obedience at that time.
Tumblr media
The Living Tribunal imprisons Zom again, while Stephen convinces the deity that Earth deserves another chance. Stephen basically saves the planet, as usual, while Zom remains dormant for literally decades.
We’ll skip now to a not-so-canon event called “the birth of the Illuminati”, or “how Stephen ruined his life for good out of arrogance and toxic masculinity”. It’s uncertain when they first gathered to boss around the planet, but according to History Of The Marvel Universe #3 (2019) and New Avengers: Illuminati #1 (2007), they made this decision after the Kree/Skrull War, creating a secret council to answer for all humanity, even though humanity itself wasn’t aware of those dubious representatives. The Kree/Skrull war dates back to 1971, which means they spent decades plotting their hidden agendas.
Tumblr media
Still, they’re heroes, right? They wouldn’t harm people, would they? They wouldn’t harm their friends or make mistakes. They’re supposed to be the smartest, most powerful people on Earth. Oh. Let me tell you something. Their very first mission was the reason why we had Civil War and Secret Invasion. Yes. It’s their fault that the Skrulls invaded Earth. And yes, Stephen is to blame because he was there with the group when they first threatned the Skrulls never to come back, or else they’d face them. Hah.
However, this is not his indelible sin. As you all know, what I consider an irreparable mistake was sending Hulk to Sakaar. And what’s even worse? It wasn’t the first time that Stephen tried to banish Hulk, as seen in The Incredible Hulk v1 #305 (1985).
But why is Stephen so haunted by banishing a menace? Because Hulk was, foremost, a dearest friend.
Tumblr media
From Defenders v1 #12 (1973)
When it comes to Hulk’s friendships, people always think of Rick Jones, Amadeus Cho, even his cousin Jennifer Walters. But few people remember that Stephen and Valkyrie were two of the first heroes to treat Hulk kindly and with respect, even though Hulk always called Stephen names (the most iconic, “dumb magician”, which is a personal favorite of mine).
Stephen has always treated Hulk as an equal, as someone who is so much more than a mindless brute. So it’s really strange for me to read that, at some point, Stephen tried to banish him twice.
Sadly, it happened. The first was not as iconic as the second, though. So I’m focusing on the latter. Remember the Illuminati? The group thought they had the right to decide Hulk’s fate after he went berserk and destroyed Las Vegas. And Stephen agreed to it. Namor, who was also a member of the Defenders along with Stephen and Hulk, was the only one who refused, as seen in New Avengers: Illuminati One-Shot (2006). The three of them were the original members. Stephen should’ve known better. So why would he agree to this?
Tumblr media
Because, again, the Illuminati are a very dubious group whose foundations are based on toxic masculinity. Powerful, egoic men left unchecked. And Stephen, as Earth’s most powerful sorcerer, couldn’t resist the call. The Ancient One was dead. The mantle of the Sorcerer Supreme was his. Clea left him years later - and he never told her about his dirty little secret, something that is subtly confirmed somewhere between New Avengers: Illuminati #4 (2007) and Avengers v4 #9 (2011).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Thus, it seems that Stephen, at some point, decided that he was better than everyone around him, a trait that was supposed to be buried in the past along with his arrogant neurosurgeon self. The kind man who has always praised his allies was now gone.
Except... World War Hulk happened. Long story short, Hulk ended up in Sakaar and found a new life after defeating his captor. He married and became king, and he was happy (you can get a very shady glimpse of this story in MCU’s Thor: Ragnarok, but that version is quite family friendly. World War Hulk is far worse). But then, the ship which the Illuminati created to send him into space exploded, killing his wife in the process. Spoiler: it wasn’t the Illuminati. It was Miek, who framed the Illuminati so Hulk would call revenge upon them. Enraged as never seen before, Hulk was truly decided to kill Reed, Tony, Black Bolt and... yes, Stephen.
At first, Stephen tried to reason with him. But Hulk’s hatred was beyond words. Stephen had all his fingers broken, ouch. Imagine his pain, assuming his hands were once injured in the car accident and still hurt from the damage and all the surgeries he has been through...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, as you know, Stephen is stubborn as hell. Remember the demon Zom? When everything else failed to stop the Hulk, Stephen finally corrupted his soul and let the demon possess him. Obviously, he lost control and almost harmed innocent people, which was enough for him to be distracted long enough for Hulk to finish him off.
Tumblr media
In the end, Hulk discovered the truth behind the explosion and, after a rage outburst, transformed back to Banner. Stephen almost died that day by the hands of his friend. But he didn’t. All that was left from that sad event was guilt. Endless, heavy guilt.
One could arguee that Stephen is out of character. And I would’ve agreed with you, except... Nor time nor actions were good enough to heal Stephen’s heart. It never went away. Never.
The reason why he forfeited the mantle of the Sorcerer Supreme? Because he used Zom’s dark magic and hurt Bruce deeply. And that affected him on so many levels that he didn’t find himself worthy anymore.
Tumblr media
From New Avengers v1 Annual #2 (2008).
It didn’t stop there. He tried time and time again. He was never able to find the proper words to apologize because he knows words will never heal the pain he inflicted on his friend.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These thoughts are Stephen’s. “Two words I’ll repeat for the rest of my days. I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I’m sorry.” (From Incredible Hulks #618)
And poor Stephen even goes and tries to compensate his lack of expertise when it comes to interpersonal relationships, projecting his relationship with Hulk into, well, another Hulk. He’s so afraid of making the same mistakes he doesn’t even know where the line is drawn.
Tumblr media
From Weapon H #2 (2018).
As I said, it will never go away. And Stephen knows it.
Tumblr media
From Defenders v4 #1 (2011).
The point is, people make mistakes. And sometimes these mistakes are just too painful to be erased. Stephen strongly believes he’ll never be forgiven, which is quite sad because this sin will always be a source of guilt for him. Whether or not Hulk forgives Stephen in the future, it will always remain a burden.
Personally, I believe that blaming himself for what happened to Hulk is even worse than blaming himself for Clea’s departure. Because, see, Clea has forgiven Stephen over the years. They still love each other and, once you ignore Fearless Defenders, there’s no sin. They both agreed to take separate ways, even though their love still existed.
But Hulk? It’s a story about betrayal between friends. It’s quite cruel and sad for both sides. I can only hope that, someday, a writer will make it up for them. They deserve another chance. And, as unreliable as I am, all I want to see is a happy Stephen.

What's your take on Thor Ragnarok? What's your take on Thor's development within the MCU so far?I'm a fan of your posts and tags!
GREAT QUESTIONS THANK YOU FOR ASKING, THANKS FOR BEING A FAN
tldr I """"like"""" Thor's canon development now bc I've done some fucking Olympic grade backfilling and contortion to recontextualize the canon to make it meaningful, but this results in me living in my own pocket universe of an interpretation where I can't really interact with other people bc they don't subscribe to my exact reading of canon
But bro I LOVE Ragnarok. I know that can be a controversial take (I've read the meta of people who think it "slaughtered" Thor and Loki's characterisations), but I just thought it was so much fun! Like on a movie watching experience level and on a lore/meta level, it's FUN. That's not something I can say for 95% of marvel movies, which are nigh universally too dimly lit and too reliant on hateful sarcasm between characters as a substitute for a relationship.
On a meta level, I 1000% subscribe to the idea that the entire movie is a retelling that Thor is preforming for his refugees, so it's a heavily edited, exaggerated, and sillier version of events meant to keep everyone's spirits up. On the point of lore continuity, I really appreciate that thor3 makes CANON and EXPLICIT Odin's campaign of imperialist violence behind his "peaceful" reign over the nine realms, I FUCKIN LOVE IT. I LOVE the context Hela gives to their family, because she makes canon and explicit Odin's disappointments in Thor. I LOVE that Mjolnir was Hela's weapon before it was Thor's because Mjolnir was never meant to be a metric for moral goodness or readiness for rule, but a metric for a colonialist's commitment to imperialist violence on behalf of an empire WHICH IS WHY IT FINDS CAPTAIN AMERICA WORTHY BUT NOT LOKI
(btw if anyone else can draw a line between Hela and Steve Rogers that is a. representative of Odin's priorities and b. includes Thor but excludes Loki, hmu, bc this is the best I got.)
(Mjolnir rejects Thor in thor1 bc Thor was trying to conquer Jotunheim for personal glory and doesn't accept him again until he starts thinking about the good of the empire again by protecting Midgard, an imperial asset. Mjolnir rejects Loki bc Loki is a not an imperialist in service of an empire)
Off topic but I know a lot of people get hung up on Thor leaving Loki paralyzed in the parking garage, potentially to be found by the grandmasters dudes? Like people say that was unaccountably cruel and ooc for Thor. But like, ok, they killed everyone on the way up, and Thor knows his armed gladiator rebellion is on his heels also headed for the parking garage, so I dunno, I never read it as Loki was in any particular danger? But I'm a notorious Thor apologist as well as a Loki apologist so 🤷‍♂️
Things I also love: loki defunding the military to spend that money on art and infrastructure, Loki's live action thorki fanfic that Asgard unaccountably loved, Loki stonewalling Odin's attempt to reconcile bc fuck Odin, Thor's lightning powers, Bruce banner is now a Jewish grandma, Hela have I mentioned Hela love that girlboss, Jeff goldblum love that wiggly man, the Valkyrie love that angry girl, "piss off ghost", inglorious deaths for all the warriors 3, "I'm here" (screaming, crying, shaking), the story about how Loki bit Thor as a snake as well as the confirmation that they are in fact the same age
I have complicated feelings about Thor's canon development tbh. On a very ground floor sort of reaction, I despise what they did to My Boy in infinity war and endgame. I think it's a disgusting character assassination and I don't think the russos understand humour and specifically how to use humour to expand on tragedy like what thor3 did.
On the other hand, if you've read my fic and meta, you'll know that I've accepted the canon development, bc at this point, I've done a LOT of very deliberate and concerted labour to MAKE the canon development we see between thor1 and endgame WORK. But, like, there was a LOT of labour that I, specifically, put into it. It fully relies on me specifically doing a lot of digging and reaching and mining these movies for every possible frame of content to the point where I am pretty sure I've put more effort into making all the development make continuous sense than any of the screenwriters put into the actual development.
And I think I've probably just drank too much of my own Kool aid but like, I am in a position now where I do think my interpretation of Thor's character development is THE most complete and accurate reading of his character development. Key to these points are: a) I think he is an ex-imperialist who is currently and actively trying to deprogram himself from the colonialists' mindset that Odin instilled within him b) he is trying to deprogram himself from Asgard's culture of extreme toxic masculinity wherein he was not taught to have any sort of emotional processing that did not involve physical violence c) Loki is/was/always will be the person he loves best
So like, as I try to show in my thorki canonverse fics (shameless plug for myself), I can make most of the bad decisions made about Thor's character in infinity war and endgame work if I recontextualize all of his canon actions with my own (well supported, well documented) headcanon'd baggage. Of course he goes on a death wish mission to get revenge on Thanos -- he has a literal deathwish bc he was already supposed to die with Loki. Of course he sinks into an unshakeable depression afterwards -- he has no identity now that he has no family bc he was never taught to live by himself or for himself. Of course he leaves new Asgard and abdicates his rule -- he hasn't wanted a hand in the dirty business of Empire ever since Odin's ambition got his mom and brother killed in thor2, and that hasn't changed. I try to make him go through all the canon-implied feelings and anxieties and doubts in front of the reader. My entire goal of this is that people read my shit, then look at canon and think "oohh that context DOES make it better!" I will be gratified if that is the case.
(The only thing I cannot fix is the bit in endgame where Thor walks past Loki's Tupperware cell and the narrative doesn't come to a screeching fucking halt as Thor has so many feelings that he has some sort of paralytic breakdown where he simultaneously wants to commit Time Crime (tm) so he can just stay here forever and also wishes he could just die here, next to loki, like he was always supposed to. Like, that needed to happen to really lynchpin all of my work together into one smooth, problem free reading, but I'm not allowed to have nice things so)
(oh also I didn't like Thor calling frigga "mom". Shouldn't it at least be "mum"? I think "mother" is best tbh, bc I don't really read them as having that sort of relationship, see "toxic masculinity", see also "homosocial socialisation")
(and ok I get that it was a nice moment for Thor to call the hammer back to his hand, and I get that it even still works with my headcanon that mjolnir finds Thor worthy still bc Thor is defending the imperial asset that is Midgard, but like God damnit. The uncritical and unquestioning use of that word "worthy" when he catches the hammer again. Like worthy of what you guys? Do you ever ask yourself that question bc I very much do. I kinda wish they didnt bring it up at all, or if they did, it didn't come back to Thor's hand and he is just like, wistfully, "that's all right, I suspected as much. I'm such a different man now, mjolnir doesn't recognize me. I don't think I'd be alive right now if I had been the same man I was")
Wow that got long, anyway, thanks for chatting with me! Again, always a pleasure to field asks!
